I remember a lot of the stuff that Addy said...I was younger but she always played haunted house hide and seek and dress up with me at Grandma's. I remember all of us piling into the little 'room' above the steps to the basement (where the ice crusher was) and Addy would tell us ghost stories...I still remember/tell them, lol.
I remember when the best thing that could happen is that Grandpa would take me and Tanner up in the woods. We loved to ride in that little red trailer. We used to play school a lot downstairs with that old desk...I'm pretty sure I always gave him A+s haha. When we fought we got the flyswat to the legs too.
I loved the swing set...you couldn't swing too high or it would flip on over the hill. We used to ride those little tricycles and that little truck down the ramp and on out that bumpy sidewalk.
I remember staying up there when I was little and I always thought Grandma looked like a completely different person right before bed. I remember being surprised that her hair was long...I guess I thought it was really just a bun under a hair net all the time.
Grandma used to let us slide in our socks out on the green porch...until she heard Grandpa coming! She also let us play his fiddle when he was out in the orchard.
I remember when I got older, my heart dropping into my stomach every time we got a call from them...I was always afraid it would be something bad.
Me and Grandma cooked all the time. Biscuits, dumplins, monkey bread, cakes, cookies...although you can't tell it by my cooking. We always made stuff with the sewing machine too. I made lots of pillows...she had to help me line it up and especially with the stitches at the end.
I have so many more...a lot of my first 20 years were spent up there on that hill.
Ems, I remember doing most of these things too with you...Just like it was yesterday! So many memories...
