We took Marleigh to her first dr appointment this morning. She is back up to her birth weight, 8 lbs 8 oz, from 7 lbs 13 oz. The dr seemed very impressed that she had gained it back in just a few days. Everything seems to be well with her and we take her back April 9th for her 1 month checkup. I can't believe the flooding you guys have up at grandma's. I don't think I've ever seen it like that before. I was talking with mom and she said last time she remembered it like that was when she was little. It rained all night here last night as well. I think we may be under some kind of flood warning but the roads don't look anything like what you guys have, at least not here in town. Dad said they closed Little Creek, where our church is, down this morning due to flooding. Does anyone have any tips on how to get swelling down on my feet? They are huge. I told Mark I was waiting to get stretch marks on my feet to go with my stomach lol. The nurses said it would go down on its own as all the IV fluids went away but it doesn't seem to be working. I try to keep them up as much as possible and it doesn't work either :( Any advise would be greatly appreciated :P

Good Morning All~Daddy and Mommy slept good thru the night. Gave Daddy Morphine at 10:30, turned him at 2:00 and he went right back to sleep and slept until we had to turn him again. Had to give him Morphine again at 7. He is resting good again and Mommy is too. As you can see, the water is everywhere. However, we just saw a Lowe's truck go up the holler, so he obviously came thru it. It seems funny to look out the window and see all the grass...(MUD).

Flood of 2010!

Friday, March 12, 2010

Ya want to know something ironic? Steve didn't know that Trish posted the pic of Daddy's flowers and Trish didn't know that Steve did it. Mommy and Daddy are fast asleep.
Did I miss something? Daniel? Grandpa? Somebody fill me in!

Monica~Don't count on a routine for the first six months except for the one she sets. Hope feeding is going well. Can't wait to see baby Marleigh. The kids loved the pictures...keep them coming. PS- There is no shame in calling in reinforcement. That's what they are there for and the grands love it anyway.
Love you all~!
Teresa gave Daddy a breathing tx about 5 and he did just fine. Even drank some water. About 4:30, he got our attention that he wanted something and I asked him if he was hurting and he said yes. I gave him his first dose of Morphine. He got company about that time, Ron and Kathy Thompson, and Mommy was glad to see them. They went to give Daddy a hug and it seemed like he recognized them. He wanted to free his hand to take theirs. They are both sleeping now and I think Mommy was snoring. Colin called and said "I just wanted to check on my grandpa."
Steve and Teresa cooked a good supper. We had Ruth's meatloaf, my canned pinto beans, buttered potatoes, corn and Steve even made cornbread. Blain stopped by on his way home and he acted like he hadn't had a homecooked meal in weeks....Oh, that's right, he hasn't. LOL.
You all continue to pray for us (the caregivers) that we will know and do what's best. Monica and Mark, we love your little one and can't wait to love all up on her. Bobbie and Elliott, ya'll look just a little proud!!!! Check in later.
Bobbie and Monica those pictures of the baby are so precious, I bet Mommy was so tickled to see them, but I know she cant wait to get her hands on her.Bobbie you and Elliott look right at home being grandparents , Just like old Pro's. Glad Dad is resting a little today , just hope he's not in too much pain.Rita or who ever is there , tell them I love them. ttyl.
Mommy just looked at the blog and saw the pictures. She is excited to see Marleigh. We are sitting on the couch watching Daddy sleep. We had pizza for lunch. Check in later

It is good to be home :) Things are going well however we had a challenging night the first night home. We had planned to just be the three of us at home last night to get settled in and get some rest but I had to call in reinforcements (Grandparents) who were more than ready to come and help. Marleigh and I both needed to bath, Mark was going to get supper where we hadn't eaten all day and for whatever reason the pharmacy could only fill one of my pain meds yesterday which was causing some great discomfort. Mark did however go and get it taken care of today. And we all needed to get some rest. I must say I have never had such harsh feeling towards a bed before but I have never been so uncomfortable in my life than having to use that hospital bed :P If I can get down a routine I hope to come up next weekend with Mom, we'll have to wait and see how things go. Marleigh goes to the doctor in the morning for her first doctor's visit and I get my staples taken out on Monday.

Daddy and Mommy are both sleeping now. I think Mommy can rest alittle just knowing that we are in here watching daddy. Their pastor, Bro. Butch, stopped by for a visit and we were talking about going to Heaven. I said "When we take our last breath here, we will take our first step in Heaven." Mommy got happy and had to shout a little bit. She told the pastor, that when the weather broke, she would be back to church.

Bobbie, Me and Steve aren't the only ones. Daniel isn't grandpa yet either! Glad everyone made it home ok!
We moved Dad's bed into the living room off from the kitchen. Much easier to keep an eye on him and Mommy. Last night he didn't sleep at ALL. He was so restless. He told me and Steve he thought something was wrong with him spine. Although I think its just where he is so bony. He can't stand to sit in his chair at all. So we roll him from side to side and occasionally he will rest on his back a little, but mostly on his side. He started out in the bed by himself last night with Mommy on the couch right beside him and I was on the other couch. Then he threw up but it was all phlegm from where he is not able to cough it all the way out. After that he rested a bit. I put Mommy in the bed with him after that and he slept much better. He is not eating much. He did eat a fudge sickle for me yesterday before bed and then a little bit of one this morning. He had a pain pill this morning and is now sleeping. Teresa, Steve and Rita are also here this morning. I am headed to Dr Anderson office to get him a liquid pain medicine. He seems to be in pain all the time and all over.

We made it back home. We enjoyed seeing everyone, glad to hear everyone made it back home ok. Congrats Monica and Mark on the new addition to the family. We hope to see the baby soon.

Hi Addy, we wish you a fast recovery from the stoning :). We are praying for you.
Love and Prayers
We got home about 1 o'clock today. Everyone doing just fine except for being tired. Hopefully we can get some rest without continuous interruption aside from the obvious. W will check in a little later.
Morning,
Marleigh gets to come home today! She gets to see her brand new room for the very first time created just for her! She is a sweetheart. They turned up the heat in her room because last night she didn't have her boggin on and her black hair was so soft. It actually looks like it might be straight. She just makes you want to kiss her all over! She lost 8oz. but she still has chubby cheeks to smooch! This "gramma thing" is really nice I'm tellin' ya! Trish, you just wait. It's kinda like you have been blind sided! In a great way! Steve, you two are the last to find out!
Mark and Monica , congrats you have a beautiful daughter, and Bobbie how does it feel to now be a Grandma? Great isn't it.
I must say that Monica's bundle of joy is much cuter than mine! And Monica looks better than I did too! must be the lighting! haha Congratulations Monica and Mark! She's gorgeous!

Morning all,
Mom and Dad slept good last night. Daddy was up at 8p and 1230am. Used the BSC and back to bed. He is congested in his r.lung...sounds like pneumonis. I called the nurse last night and will get in touch with the doctor this morning. They can administer IV antibiotics if he needs them. He is already on oxygen and we can do the breathing treatments as well. He slept much better after he coughed up the crap out of his lungs!

Sure would like to see more pictures of Marleigh! Monica, when does everyone get to come home?
Daniel, Alice, and Rita will be here today. I have an appt in Lewisburg to get ready for my eye surgery next week. And will check on Addy while I am there.

Trish and I put Daddy and Mommy to bed and they are resting comfortably.  Daddy ate pretty good today.  They had visitors from their church and they brought food.  I am getting addresses and I will send thank you's from the family.  If you are here and someone comes, please get their name and I can get an address.  Also, Ernie and Enola Fitzwater came this morning and Georgia came this evening and we had a nice visit.
Kaiden and Olivia had a good time with Emma, Daniel, and Alice.  And of course, they love being at Grandma and Grandpa's.

I have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 11. Say a prayer!
Also pray for Paul, he's pretty miserable working for the railroad and is really considering a career change. Keep us in your thoughts.
Daniel & Alice, I wish you could have heard my kids telling Matthew about their day. They had all kinds of good stories...maybe I should have stayed as much fun as you all had.

Monica, If/when you come this way, my nursery is waiting on Marleigh. I got the bed ready and the kids put some of their toys in there. I have a Math conference the 18th- 20th. When are you coming in?
Good afternoon all, Just a update from mom and dad's. Dad slept good through the night and has had one family from their church visit today. He ate two spoons of apples and one scrambled egg/cheese for breakfast. Mother seems to be doing ok, she had one egg and apple sauce for breakfast and a snowball cake. They are both napping now.

Well, it appears that some of you are wondering who guessed the correct day, weight, & time.
With a guess of 03-08-10 was Marleigh's Grandma Bobbie!!! Tanner & Andy was closest on the weight with 8lb 7oz, but did not have the correct day. Andy guessed the 9th and Tanner the 11th. Colin guessed the closest time with 10 am but had guessed the 10th day. Amy, as close as these three were with Marleigh, they might guess yours dead on!!

Marleigh

So who wins for guessing Marleigh's due date and weight?
Good Afternoon All,
We have visited, and Mom and Marleigh are in great shape! We are going back about 6pm to visit some more! My sisters were right! We are falling in love with little Marleigh. After they got her ready to visit with Mom she is swaddled and napping this afternoon. When we convinced Corey she wouldn't break he held her some! Her dr. said she has a great reflex for latching on and Monica is going to feed her soon. She is beautiful in every way! Thank-you for all your prayers. God answers them "doesn't He Gramma?"
The temp at the bank said 57 when we passed. You all look like you are having a beautiful day there as well. The picture of Dad and Mom outside, WOW! Vonda, Daniel I hope you are having a good visit. I plan to visit on Sunday for the day, as soon as my little girls are settled in at home! Ha! Ha!
