Danny, I'm glad you got to come home today :)  If anyone is wondering from the previous blog, yes, I said "him" lol.  They had a drag contest and from what Mark heard the fella in the red high hills is a professional at that.  I believe it because the first time we saw him I thought he was a girl but the next time I happened to see his muscles and thought something might be amiss :P  I'll try to post the video of the contest if it's not to long.

We had a Relay for Life event this evening at the park.  It was so beautiful, perfect weather!!!  They are having entertainment and walking through 6 in the morning.  We were there for a couple hours and had a wonderful time.  Rita, Teresa, you likin' his shoes???
We got home from the hospital at 4. His breathing is better but still not great. Still has fluid both lungs and will take pneumonia a while to clear out. He is enjoying sitting in his chair! Danny's mom brought brown beans, corn bread, and strawberries, then his aunt ruthie brought potato soup. Clarence and Tina and their two kids Meggan and Garrett all came over and cleaned house, did laundry and mowed and weed eat the yard! I don't know what we would do without everyone helping us. Tina has taken Jacob to school all week and then friends have been taking care of him after school and ball practice. Tanner has started working this week with a yard service and doesn't get home Til 10 at night! Continue to remember him in prayer. We love you guys
Trish

The worse thing is coughing because that causes him so much pain. Between the pain shots and pain pills and a new air mattress he is getting a little rest. The doctors are working on md anderson in Houston but we still don't know anything yet. Thanks for the prayers and keep em coming. Love to all
Trish
Amen again, Stand FIRM , Until God comes through!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen, sister! The world says that "seeing is believing," but God says "believing is seeing.

Faith

The natural question is, "What is faith?"  Most Christians probably know the technical definition for faith from Hebrews 11:1,

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The New International Version says, Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  That is pretty clear.  But it becomes even more clear when you plug that definition into 1 Timothy 6:12,

Fight the good fight of [the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  Fight the good fight of being sure of what you hope for and being convinced of what you do not see.]

When the answer to your prayers is not on the horizon, when you don't feel differently, you need to fight the good fight and say, "You know what?  God's Word says it and that's all the evidence I need.  It is the evidence of things not seen, and I'm going to stand on that truth.  I don't care what the world says, I don't care what circumstances say, I am going to fight the good fight of the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of what I do not see."

And you stay with it until, as they say, "Faith turns to sight."

What are you struggling with today? What challenge is testing your faith? Stand firm on the truth of God's Word.  Trust Him, no matter what others may say.

Real faith is standing firm in the midst of the storm. So stand firm!

Trish, I had her for my home ect. teacher.
Congratulations, Emily! We are so proud of you. Danny, you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Hope everyone had a happy Mother's day. Brooks and Clara were with us from around noon on Friday until Sunday evening when we took them home and had a wonderful Mother's Day dinner at Amy and Greg's (Greg's brothers, Matt and Ryan, did all the cooking and the cleaning up afterwards.) We had chicken cordon bleu on the grill, mashed potatoes, sugar snap peas, salad, and asparagus. Elaine made an angel food cake with whipped cream and strawberries and a chocolate pie. A wonderful meal indeed! Matt taught Brooks how to spray whipped topping directly into his mouth. At first he was puzzled, but when he saw Matt do the same and eat it, he was hooked. Clara and Brooks played outside on the trampoline, swings, etc., with Belinda's children on Saturday and had a wonderful time. Yesterday they discovered an earthworm on the patio (Clara said it was beautiful and wondered if she could eat it) which they pulled grass for it to eat and they watered it out of the water cups.

How many of you had mrs Nolen for home ec at west?

Hey Everybody! Happy Mother's Day! It's kind of rainy and dreary here today. Paul and I visited both our Moms today. Dad wasn't very happy to see us because we took him something else to mow around! Mom will have to post pictures when she decides where she wants dad to plant it.
Paul's dad has bought some property across from our house and has been clearing it off. There are honeysuckle bushes everywhere so we helped ouselves to some additions to our landscaping around the front of our house. We also got the rocks from across the road too, and the stump. We still have the other side of the porch to do, but it's coming along! So far I have some azaleas, lilacs, and the honeysuckle. We also got the rest of our garden planted since we've had a couple nice days for the ground to dry up a bit.
Happy Mother's Day to all!!!  Emily, you look so beautiful!!  Congratulations on this milestone :)
Hope everyone has a good Mother's Day.  All you kids, don't forget your Mom's.  It's not about the trinkets and such, it's about the time and the "I love you" that she loves so much!  God has a good plan in Moms.  I know I am still blessed by the Mom He gave all of us.  Kimberly, I can't wait to see what kind of Mom you become.

Emily, you're so pretty and I know Trish and Danny are so proud of you! Congrats!
Hope every one has a Blessed Mother's Day
