Ok, I tried to post a comment, but I lost it somewhere, so it may post twice. I am sittin' here looking at a dreary day, but I like those every now and again. I even like a hard rain and thunderstorms. Janis~If you have questions, Trish is a good one to ask. She use to work for a very good Dr. at a clinic and she has learned alot. I'm a nurse too, but I was in the blood business. I worked for the American Red Cross and I learned how to collect, process, pack, and transport a safe pint of blood, but that's about it. I lost most of my nursing knowledge and skills (not that I had much to begin with). If anyone else is following this blog, I wish you would pop in and say Hello. We might want to "get all up in your business" too!!! Now 'at right 'er was funny, I don't keer who you are!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL LOL
Janis, did they say he had prostate cancer? Do you know what his PSA was. Daddy has an enlarged prostate and he has always had a little elevated PSA at 6. But when he went last year it was up to 9. The urologist told him that if it was cancer that the treatment would be harder on him than the cancer. So he just goes back yearly for PSA level. Daddy said he wouldn't take the treatment even if it was cancer. So there you go....He did finally go and get the skin cancers off of his ears, but didn't go for the return appt!

Janis~We will definitely be praying for him. Trish, Isn't that kinda' what they told Daddy, or am I mistaken? I can't keep up with all the Dr. reports in this house!! I don't know how you do it Trish. It's raining here and I did the Walmart thing (groceries) this evening. So I am wore out!! Going to bed, talk to you folks tomorrow.

Thought I would share this picture of Timmys grandson Deegan. Doesn't he have the prettiest blue eyes!
Janis, I bet Lee enjoys your little ones doesn't he? I know I just babysit a little 2 year old 3 days a week and she already is apart of our family. It is like Jacob and Tanner having a little sister. I can't imagine life without her now.
Pouring the rain here today. REally dreary!

Janis~My husband, Blain, also had Cancer in 2001. He was diagnosed with 2 kinds of cancer, non-hogdkins and melanoma. He is cancer free today but I do not give the Drs. all the credit. God was definitely working in his situation, and still is. Those kids will grow up loving your family and more importantly, grow to know God and how much He loves them. You reap what you sow, so you will be reaping a lot of love throughout their lifetime. Vonda, good to hear you bloggin'. How are things up North. Cold no doubt. I'm like you, I can't wait to get in the dirt. I've bought most of my seed and as soon as it dries out, we're plowin' up dirt!! Then we'll fuss about all the weeds that we can't keep up with, Ha Ha. I can't wait to get the veggies out of the garden instead of at Sam's. That's the biggest part of our grocery bill. Since we joined Weight Watchers, we eat alot of fresh veggies. Well, time to clean up the kitchen from dinner. Thank God for dishwashers!! Of all the chores in the house, washing dishes is my least favorite. Laundry being my favorite. Ya'll have a blessed day.
No the Mother does not have any visitation not even by phone. The boys Father is in jail he don't want him Thank God for that. The girl don't even know who her Father is. The mother doesn't either. and they do go to church. The mother parents didn't even want them. They are no better off than she is. I prayed every night for these kids. And now Thank God for them every day. I had cancer back in 2001 and taking care of the girl helped me through it. Now it's time for me to do in return. the Mother would have rather the kids to go to Foster care than to live with me where the kids are happy.
Janis, it sounds like God has a purpose for you and those kids , you may never know what a difference you have made in their lives, but I am sure some day you and the kids will know. Its a shame the way the devil destroys people's lives, I know what you mean that you have to work with the boy, I had a neighbor that was raising her grand daughter a baby and her mother was on drugs when she was born, and it was awful.but I am sure with Gods help you will do ok, and NO it dosen't take blood to make you love a child or to raise one as your own. We are all Gods Children , and we need to look out for those that cant take care of them selves. May God Bless your life and theirs for it.
Well we have rain here today too, and kinda cold but its better than snow. I cant wait to play in the dirt and flowers. you all take care .

Janis~It sounds like to me, that God has a plan for those children. It is so sad to see what drugs can do to a person. I worked with a girl who had a son that she absolutely "lived for." She and her husband divorced, she got in with a coworker who got her hooked on drugs and she ended up losing her job and her son. It's hard to believe that a person can give up everything for a fix!
You will make all the difference in the world in their lives. You will provide a stable environment with security, and I agree with you, blood doesn't make you love a child. Do the children still have visitation with their mother and is it supervised? Do you take them to church? I've got my 2 grandbabies today and they are in rare form!! It's rainy so they can't go outside and jump on the trampoline. Better go check on them, I think they are giving Papaw a run for his money.

Rita I am in Williamson county.About 30 miles out of Nashville. The 2 children and there Mother have lived with us for 4 years. I give them a place to live feed them and kept them. After all of that the state was going to take them from her. Because she is on drugs and didn't care who she left them with.truck drivers or anyone she just meets. She would take them to motel rooms with her when she would be with a man.And when the state stepped in after I called them and they was taking them from her she turned around in court and lie on my husband with her oldest child.someone else has her now. but we get to see her to. And they turned it over to the police which they said they know nothing happened and that they know her and how she is. But I went to court and fought for them and won. I am the only one kids know they know none of their kin. Which none of them didn't want them anyway.I told God it was up to him for me to get these kids and I did. They are 2 beautiful kids. I told the social worker it didn't take blood to love a child. I am having to work with the boy because she was on drugs when she was going to have him. Don't get me wrong he is smart it's just some things that I have to work with him. He always tells me < me loves you nana. Just breaks my heart. The girl says she so happy to be home.

Janis~Sounds like you are raising a second family. Kids keep you young, or at least that's what I'm hoping for. My oldest daughter will be 29 this year. Has your Dad gotten any more news from his Dr. Daddy said he called him Sunday? I think. I told him that we talk to you and you keep us updated. What town or city? do you live in. Your Dad lives in Shelbyville, Right? Would love to see some pics. We Treadways, are all about pictures. Steve is our resident photographer when we all get together. The way we get everybody in the picture is to do it before dinner. That way, they know we don't eat until we get a picture. You should see them gettin' in place in a hurry. LOL

Yeah for McDonald's, I guess the younger generation is not to fond of ramps :) I do recall the trips as a youngster going to grandma and grandpa's. I loved the scenery and for some reason I couldn't wait to get to Hinton. The town with brick streets. We didn't have those in Dublin. It was an exciting time. I love going over Sandstone Mountain and looking down at the river. Of course, by the time we got over Sandstone Mountain I had thrown up all over my clothes from car sickness and was in my underclothes by the time we got to grandma's. It was a little embarrasing to greet my cousins in that manner (haha). Tata for now, see you in a few weeks.
