When I got home from work the girls had decorated the deck with poems and pictures for me.They worked and pulled weeds around my pond and put down the mulch and got me some new lights.I am sitting here and relaxing. Got to get rid of the string algae then we will be all set. Hope everyone has a blessed Mothers day

Mothers day surprise

New lights

This is last minute but Emily's graduation is streamed live on concord.edu
Want you all to pray for Danny today. He is sick. I think probably pneumonia again. He is nauseated and vomiting. Really weak. Emily graduates today. It he isn't feeling up to going. We are still waiting on word from Texas. As of Thursday they had requested more tissue samples from UVA and we have to wait on the final on that.
Thank you All for your prayers

Garage

David:

The garage did have some termite damage and some of the foundation was rotten.  That's not bad for 62 + years though.  I am planning on building on the same spot only bigger.  Concrete floor, insulation, heat, etc.

Daddy use to play with Everett and Bea

Bluegrass legend Everett Lilly dies

Bluegrass legend and Raleigh County native Everett Lilly, who with his brother Bea, reached the heights of bluegrass fame, died at his home in Clear Creek Tuesday afternoon, according to his son, Everett. He was 87.  The brothers began performing together as boys and after World War II, they played live on WJLS radio. From there they moved to Wheeling radio and then to Knoxville, Tenn.
In the '50s, Everett played with Flatt and Scruggs and played with them at the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville.  The pair also spent 16 years in Boston playing at the Hillbilly Ranch and are credited with bringing the bluegrass sound to Japan. The Lilly Brothers were inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame and the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame. Everett received the Vandalia Award, West Virginia's highest folklife honor, in 2009.  Bea Lilly died in 2005. Everett played on with his sons and other musicians as the Lilly Mountaineers.  Funeral arrangements for Lilly are unknown at this time.

It was good to hear the update on Danny.  I'm glad that your 1st trip is going to be taken care of as far as the flying part.  I can't believe it's so hard taking care of the oxygen though.  Addy, that place looks beautiful in the picture but it doesn't look like it fits in the mountains of WV lol!!!  I have never heard of it.  Today was supposed to be a rainy do so we took Mar bowling for the 1st time.  I had a coupon for 2 free games for children :)  She made it to the last frame of the 1st game then lost interest.  She had fun though.  I tell ya, a ramp and bumpers make all the difference in the world.  Her score was 101!!  I did not break 100 :{ lol
Addy: A few years ago Dan and I took a week and toured West Virginia, and we visted the place you are talking about. Actually, unless someone told you about it, you would not even know it is there. It is indeed down a single lane dirt road. A lot of the concrete is crumbling, because the people that actually built it were young people who looked in books to see how to do concrete, and they didn't learn everything that they needed to know. Also, there is chanting over a loud speaker all the time. It is a good thing that the building is out among the chickens and cows.
Steve, have been watching your posts about the demolition of the garage with interest. Sure looks different now. Do you plan to put up a new one on the same spot? By the way, Daddy told me he finished the garage while Mommy was carrying me, so that landmark was at least 62 years old when you took it down. The wood was not rotten (or was it?) nor destroyed by termits, so it lasted for a long while . . . not that I'm old or anything. Congrats Emily on your graduation. I'm very proud of you. Lowe's . . . one of my favorite stores too! I should buy stock in the place. Danny we are still praying for you that all things will work out well. The Bible says, "All things work together for good, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Alice, we are keeping you in our prayers every day as well. Sorry we couldn't make the get together at Lonnie's but did enjoy the pictures that were posted. Love to all.
Hey everyone,
Emily is working at Lowes in Princeton.  The won't move to Morgantown until mid July.  Tanner finishes up with exams this week then he has a job working with one of the local lawn services for the summer.  We are still waiting on work from Houston for an appt.  I think we have the flight arranged through a company called Mercy Medical Airlift.  The American Cancer Society pays for one trip per calendar year for a patient and caregiver round trip to an appt.  Getting his oxygen situated is another story!  To fly with oxygen you have to have an approved portable concentrator AND enough battery power to fly the whole trip.  They do not allow you to plug in to their power source.  External batteries do not come with the oxygen so I had to purchase 2 of those.  One lasts only 3 hours!  If you think a battery is expensive for your laptop?  Each of these batteries are 300$.  Definately don't take your air for granted:)  I will let you know when we know anything.
Congrats Emily on graduation and the new job!  Still praying for Alice and Danny.
Rita and Bobbie~ I'm not sure why Lowe's wouldn't want me with my bubbly personality, I just don't understand I guess I need to get pointers from Emily on how to get a job there. hehe  It couldn't have been that salad from Food and Friends that I had with that poppy seed dressing?!?!?!?
