By the way Addy, can you post your recipe for that Lemon Pound Cake? I actually got to eat my piece at about 2 this morning:) It was the best I have ever eaten!
We had a nice get together last evening for Mom and Dads 69th anniversary! We had 25 people. Timmy, Cindy, Jesse and Helen(dannys mom and Dad) Georgia, Alma, Mary, Lynn, cindy, Summer, Lonnie, Marsha, Presley, Chandler, Sue, Me, Danny, Tanner, Jacob, Emily, Zac, Addy, and Rita and of course Mom and Dad.
Had a scrumptious supper too! Turkey, Roast Beef, Mashed potatoes (the real ones) gravy, home made rolls, Green beans, corn on the cob, pasta salad, Macaroni and cheese, coconut cream pies, lemon pound cake and lots of sweet tea. It was a really nice get together and about 730 or 8 Mommy announced she was going to bed. Everyone was still there. She got up went to the bedroom and came back out, new purple robe on (compliments of Ruth) Hair down, and no teeth! She proceeded to go and hug everyone and thank them for celebrating with them. Then hopped in the bed! I want to be just like her when I grow up!!!!!! Emily took all of the pictures, I just posted them for her. Daddy got a brand new bug vacuum from Ruth. Rita got them some beautiful yellow and orange roses! I got them some furry house shoes, Mommy has hers on in the group picture! Bright pink....lol. Timmy and Cindy brought a beautiful Calla Lilly and of course some candy and peanuts. They got everyones cards and really enjoy them. Plus the emails. Enjoy the pictures!

I Love the idea of the Hot Chocolat Social, btu can we out something on the menu other than Cabbage for New Year's??? LOL Also, the idea of bringing our own ornaments is a good idea. Why don't we take the tree down at the New Year's Social? For that matter, we could go ahead and put it up tonight. LOL Just kidding...I know everyonr doesn't want their tree up year-round like me! I am planning on being there tonight!

This was breakfast at Grandma's and Grandpa burning leaves this evening. I have really missed the bloggin'. I'm all about the cooking show with me doing the talking and somebody else doing the work :) Bobbie, the idea about the tree sounds good. Not sure when New Year's Day is, but the night before, Bobbie and I thought a Hot Chocolate Social would be nice to have around the Christmas Tree and maybe some of us can tell about some Christmas's we remember growing up with Mommy and Daddy. Or maybe, just some winters! Just a nice time with everyone sittin' around drinking hot chocolate and munchin' and talkin'. Bet there would be some funny stuff and also, Mommy and Daddy would enjoy that, I think. Maybe they would tell us some stories about their Christmas's when they were growing up. You might even want to ask them some questions. Any ideas on this? Ornaments for the tree is a nice idea. Help taking it down is an even better one. We have all the Christmas stuff put away nicely. Mommy is doing as well as before the fall, I think. Pray that God assigns angels all around her so she won't fall again. Maybe I'll have Colin to pray especially for that!!!!

Here is Paul's Lasagna/Spaghetti Sauce recipe.

1 lb. hamburger
1 Green Pepper
1 Large Onion
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 Cup water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
3/4 tsp. dried basil leaves
1/2 tsp. Marjoram
1/4 tsp. Rosemary leaves
2 Bay leaves
1- 8 oz.can tomato sauce
1- 6 oz. can tomato paste

Brown hamburger. Once hamburger is cooked add pepper, onion, and garlic. Let cook until onion is soft. You can drain the hamburger if you want but Paul doesn't. He says "don't drain off all the juicy goodness." Measure spices and herbs into one bowl and add them to the hamburger after onion is soft. Then add the rest of the ingredients. Layer in pan with lasagna noodles and LOTS of mozzerella cheese! Bake at 350 for about 30-40 minutes.
I have an idea. I was talking with Rita over the weekend and she said that Trish and her had to take the Christmas tree down last year after all of us left. That shouldn't be! So this year why don't we all bring a box of ornaments with us when we come Thanksgiving and put the tree up on that day and then when we come back for Christmas we can each take our box of ornaments home and the tree can come down after we open the presents! She sometimes likes to stand and just look at the tree and this way she would have a whole tree full of new ornaments to look at! Also we thought it would be nice to put the tree up right in front of the bay window this year. You will be able to see it when you drive up and she can see it from the hall way as well. Rita can tell you about the hot chocolate party!
and how much does this assistant job pay? I may be interested...
Anybody want to be my assistant? How hard is it to take it out of the freezer and out it in the oven?
Hey, were all doing pretty good , both girls are sick and Vonda had to miss school today , and Vesta was sick yesterday , some kind of virus going around, I guess Just hope David and I don't get it,
Got to go get my eye exam today , so I'll be able to see , Glad Mom and Dad are doing better too.
Janet! I can't believe you put up a CHRISTMAS tree when the sun is still shining and there are still pumpkins carved from Halloween:) But it looks like your kids are totally enjoying it!
Since we are on the subject of Christmas trees. Are we going to put Mommys up like we did last year at Thanksgiving? Or do you think that will be too early for them.
Eloise, her sister Kathy, and I went to a cooking show yesterday at the Tamarack. Taste of HOme! It was really a lot of fun. If any of you like watching it on TV, its just like being there on TV.
Rita, I think we should have a "cooking" show at Mommys over the weekend of Thanksgiving. We could pick the recipes we want to know how to make and you can pick your helpers, they have everything cut up, measured. All you have to do is talk and mix and BAke! You don't even have to put it in the over yourself! They make it look so easy. You make tons of stuff that I myself would really like to know how you do. A lot of the little secret things you know just aren't in the recipe. I made biscuits in the iron skillet the other evening but they weren't near as big as yours. But they were good none the less, smothered in gravy and apples! Who could tell, Jacob said they were crunchy!
Eloise and I did take the Flat Grands along with us. I will post a picture of them later in front of the Tamarack. Gotta get ready to go to the doc this morning.
I talked to Rita this morning and Mommy did well last night.
I stayed Sunday and Monday nights and she was so much better. Monday night she slept in her bed and she and Daddy got up by themselves with no help. Then yesterday morning she said, "Did I do something to my side?" LOL Sunday night when I came back from church at 830 she met me at the door, no teeth, grinning, turning the light on. Just like always!
I am taking them both to the doctor tomorrow to make sure everything is good since the fall.
Yes Addy,
Gramma would like to put in her order for one a month PLEASE! It was tasty!

AND yes...putting up the Christmas tree. We did it a little late this year:) LOL

Bob the Builder & Dora the Explorer...

Reading together...this one did my heart good:)

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I made it but I can't take full credit, it's Paul's recipe believe it or not!
Addy, Bobbie, Grandma, Grandpa and I enjoyed your lasagna Saturday night, and it was scrumptious. Grandpa said so, as well. You can make that anytime for them! Bobbie had brought a salad, and we made rolls and we ate like kings!
