This is a few highlights of our day. Vonda, this is Mommy receiving the flowers from you and David. You can see Ruth reading her the poem. It was beautiful, did you write it? You can also see the 2 silk flowers and I told her what you said. She has been saying all week that Glad Times goes with Sad Times. Mommy came home and went straight to bed, she got up to take her meds and eat a bite and then straight back to bed. Will post more later.

I'm going to WalMart this evening and If I find a good watermelon, I'll get it.

Well , We know what is wrong with Blain, Having to Live with Rita all this time, Is Stressing the POOR Man OUT LOL, Blain We feel for you , Just Kidding, Sure glad it all turned out good so far.Love you All.

Blain did get to come home today. Blood workand EKG was all good. Chest X-Ray was good (Where the Non Hodgkins Lymphoma was). He will have a Stress Test on June 3. The Cardiologist did tell him that he could have a disease of the heart that these tests cannot detect or in his case, damage caused by the radiation. He's more upset that he had to miss work and he couldn't chew while he was in there. He told them he was going to go home and plant potatoes, mow grass and weed eat. I told them that would do more than their stress test anyway. Mommy is asleep on the couch taking a nap waiting on lunch!

They discharged blain today. He is on his way good. Didnt find anything but
did set him up for outpatient stress test

Are they doing test on Blain today? I'll make potato salad, slaw and some puffs. I could get the ice cream for the cake, do we need that?

I put those pictures up on facebook and tonnss of people commented on how cute/beautiful she is! The speech pathologist sounds like he'll be really good for her.

I've never packed up a whole place to move (mostly just my room before) and it is not easy! Our landlord took us through the house yesterday and said we could start moving things in whenever we wanted. I'm going over to shampoo the carpets this afternoon and then this Saturday after Grandma's party we're moving all of the big stuff. We're so excited to not have people walking over top of us all of the time and people being loud all over the building. I'll put some pictures up next week after we've got everything in.

I read Mommy what Trish wrote and she did laugh. She said that Trish would just have to get more than 1 chicken. LOL She laughed about the "swallowing all a her life". She must think we are the ones who need help!!!!

Yeah Ruth, I just forgot the Mac Salad. I have plenty of Mayonnaise open, don't bring any. Blain had opened one the other night and I got up to pack his bucket, and I opened another one so I have 2 qts open. And you can bring all the paper and plastic. Don't know if Steve is reading the Blog since he is in Alabama, but I will see if he thinks we need to bring chairs as well.
Mommy was sitting here in the DR, and she said there was a song that she and Trish use to sing, and she quoted the first verse of "How Far is Heaven" without missing a word!

Rita, I can't believe you got by with just ONE egg for breakfast! I told her I was going to have to get me a chicken to lay eggs just for her but I think she would eat them faster than the chicken could lay them.
The nurse and Speech Pathologist came yesterday and she is doing really really good. Her BP is 138/72 and her heart rate was 80, weight was 114 and it has been that since Daddy passed so she is stable with that. And I was looking at her Drivers license (by the way it is due in May!) and her weight on it is 110! So she is just right. The speech path. works not only with her swallowing but memory also and cognitive abilities. He asked her questions about family history such as where she was born(she got that one right), parents name(right), sisters name (some of those she got right, even with both families; he was amazed) she couldn't remember Daddy's name, so he asked her what she called him and she said "Daddy" he laughed and said with that many kids I guess that's why! She couldn't remember any of her kids names except me and Rita and I am sure that's because we are here every day. He encourages a lot of interaction with family; phone calls, visits, cards, send her pictures. He wants me to tape them up in her room. So I showed him her room. Done that already! Except some of you I don't have, but Rita may. I showed her the picture of her with the girls that was taken at Ruth's. she knew who she was and the rest of us were Blanche. She does have a swallowing problem, but he seems to think it is just weak muscles. When she tries to cough it is so weak that she can't even get up saliva. So we are working on that. If she would develop a cold that went straight to her lungs, she would never be strong enough to cough anything up and would develop pneumonia. So that's why that is important. He asked if there was anything she was proud of herself and she said honesty. Then he asked what her mother taught her that she was proud of and that was honesty. He was here for a good hour and a half and she said she liked him better than the Physical therapist! LOL But the first day he was here, after he left she said there wasn't any need for him to come back. I told her he was going to help her swallow better. She laughed and said she already knew how to do that she had been doing it all her life. He thought that was funny too. We have been listening to tapes of Mommy and Daddy and Goldie singing and she likes that. She even sings along.

Mommy's all excited talkin' about her people coming up to the HomePlace. She said this morning that Sad things always go with Glad things. I asked her if she meant going home and Daddy not being there. She said yes, but it made her glad to think that he was doing things he wasn't able to do here.
So far we have Weiners, Buns, Chili, Brown Beans, Cornbread, Onions, Drinks (don't forget to bring what you drink, With the exception of Blain) Mac & Cheese, Banana Pudding, Birthday Cake, Baked Beans, Fruit Salad, Angel Food Cake.
Bobbie~ We will need slaw for the hot dogs and forks probably? I can bring ketchup, mustard, relish...

 

 

Mommy has already had her shower, meds and now breakfast on the deck. For breakfast she ate, a yogurt, hot tea, 1 egg, sliced tomatoes, chilled fruit, and an ensure. She finished it all but the fruit. Ate about half. She's stretched out on the couch now with Sadie on the floor at her feet. It's going to be beautiful here today. She's going to Trish's today for awhile and then out to Helen and Jesse's for a visit this afternoon. Blain has a Dr. appt. this evening and I want to go with him. We'll pic up Mommy on the way home.

What about paper supplies? Anyone bringing plates and forks?

The Hutsenpillers will be there on Saturday but only long enough to eat. We are moving Emily and Zac that day. Lonnie, Marsha, Shawn's family and Cindy's family all said they would be there on Saturday. We went to Ariels graduation party yesterday and had a really good time. Of course Mommy had a good time because she was at Lonnies. Ariels graduation was Saturday night and she was Salutatorian! And I hear she did an excellent job on her speech. We had planned to go but things just didn't work out. Mommy forgets every day that she is having a party on saturday so every morning she is surprised and excited all over again! Amy, it's just like when she found out you were pregnant! What do you all think of her photoshoot!? She absolutely had a blast. Its no wonder Daddy liked taking so many pictures of her. She is a very good model.
Mommy will be with me all week so if anyone is coming in on Friday evening feel free to come by for a visit.

Colin and I will be coming for Mommy's B-day, but Dan will not. Rita, I have a double cakepan and could bake a B-Day cake if you would like. I have two 1-gallon cans of Bush's baked beans I can bring. I can also bring macaroni salad. Rita, just let me know what you want me to do.

Just want to see who is coming to Mommy's B'Day party. If you would chime in on the blog then we will have an idea about how many hot dogs and buns to buy. We also need a cake..It doesn't have to be storebought and it doesn't have to feed everyone. A homemade one would do just fine. If noone else volunteers, then I will make one. I will have Mommy so it will be hard for me to buy one and pic it up.
Are we having Hamburgers too and if so we will need the fixin's.
