Emily,
I can share in your bad experience with making cornbread!! It was then pointed out to me that I wasn't using self-rising cornmeal haha. Well, I went back to the doctor today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat and hear it move. I cried. It was awesome. Also this week, Carrie passed her state boards. She is now a licensed LPN :) Rita, how come you keep sending pictures of the kids gettin' taters? I've gotten about a dozen of them so far lol.

I have an urgent cooking question for you guys!
So Zac loves Grandma's cornbread, and we have tried several times to make it and it tastes NOTHING like it. We use:
1 c cornmeal
1 c flour
1 c buttermilk
1/4 c oil
little bit of sugar
little bit of water to make it thinner
and 2 eggs.
what's wrong with it?? it tastes awful...and doesn't look anything like it either. zac really wants an answer, haha.

Hey everyone. I went to my training today and we are supposed to vote tomorrow on when we are having training next week (Saturday or Monday) so I guess I won't be able to come over Labor Day unless we really complain and that probably won't do us much good! Apparently, this is the only time that the trainer (from Canada) can be here...YUCK!!!!! If I can't be there, i will miss you all so much!

Brett
Brett had his first 48hr treatment this past Monday. He was able to come home on Wednesday. He is doing fine. He did have an allergic reaction to one of the chemo drug's. So yesterday he did call Dr. & get a med. to counter act it. He said it is doing well. Then we have to wait for 3 weeks. He will then again have another 48hr treatment. After that he will then go get another pet scan to find out if this chemo is doing what it is supposed to do. If they get it shrunk down small enough then he will get one more 48hr treatment. then if his levels come out good. He will go into Duke University they will remove his bone marrow aka stem cells. give him a massive dose of chemo. then replace his bone marrow. He will then live in a apartment for a month. Has to check in with the hospital daily. When he is done if they clear him to go home, to his house. When he does this. He wants me to come to North Carolina at that time to help him out.
