On the subject of Labor Day get-together, I'll bring more onions in case Daniel doesn't bring enough, . . . nah, just kidding! I'll bring a package of weiners & buns, a bottle of mustard, and my drink, green tea.
Steve so you have room for me to sleep in the basement? Julie is not going to be with me, maybe Boost Boy will but if he does it won't matter where he sleeps.
Teresa I'll pick up that table that used to belong to Julie's Mom & Dad. Julie would like for me to collect any pictures of our family that we might have sent to Mom & Dad.
Love you all

May peace break into your home and
May thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans
Become a magnet for $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline
And may laughter assault your lips!
May happiness slap you across the face
And may your tears be that of joy
May the problems you had
Forget your home address!
In other words ...........
May God bless each and every one
Of you and yours!

Happy Birthday Wishes....

Thanks to everyone, for the Birthday Wishes. I think this has been one of the best, ever. Cindy made a wonderful meal and topped it off with the Cake and Strawberry 7 minute frosting..like Mom use to make when we were kids...Cindy did add a double dose of Strawberry's. mmmmmmmmmmmm We love it up here in the mountains and though it is a bit of a drive, It is well worth it. NOT as bad as Rita and Blain's..Ha! We are in our busiest time of year here with work related to the College students moving in and out. Hopefully will get a break in September.
Love you guys. Hope to see you soon. Tim and Cindy P.S. Happy Birthday, Rita.

Happy Birthday Timmy. Sorry a day late. I did think of you yesterday though. Blain had to go to Ronceverte for his annual Stress Test and Cardiology visit...EKG..ECHO..Blood Work. Trish, I didn't know you were over at the hospital or I would have come over to keep you company. Blain was at the Dr. for 4 1/2 hours. His appt. wasn't until 11:15 and he didn't get called back until 11:30 so I was over there all day. And with The Greenbrier Classic going on and all the traffic at the fair grounds, I didn't dare venture out very far. I wish I'd known. When do they think you will get to come home?
Timmy, I thought of your birthday when I dated my check at the Drs. office. HaHa
Bobbie, I do cherish my seat at church. Sometimes when I get down by the seat to pray, I can visualize her kneeling right down there beside me. One time, I could even feel her take ahold of my hand!! Now, that was special and Yes, I am holding her pastor up in prayer, as we should ALL hold our pastor's up in prayer.
Tomorrow is Olivia's (and Emily's) birthday, so I am off to shop for a present. How about a puppy! A blood hound...wouldn't she just love one of those? Or is that Marleigh?
I picked over my shelling peas and canned 4 pints (they were not quite full enough yet) but I'm picking my sugar snap peas this evening. We have been eating alot of those. They are soooo good. I think they are coming close to being as good as fresh green beans. I wish I could share a mess with all of you.
Where does the word "Mess" as in quanity, of food, come from. Ruth, get right on that!

Johnny Cash - You Are My Sunshine
This song reminds me of Grandpa. The way he plays guitar sounds a lot like how Grandpa did. =)
Mark is not a participant of the dressing up lol!!! I had wore my flip flops to church tonight and decided to go bare foot after I got there. One of the kids asked me where my shoes were and I told him I had been chasing camels and didn't want to get camel poo on them :P We had 6 new kids tonight which made the count 31 I believe. They seem to be enjoying it and the weather is holding out for us as well :)
Congratulations on your new job Steve!!! That is great news, Praise the Lord!!!
I have to agree with mom, Rita you are truly blessed to be able to sit where Grandma and Grandpa did. What a great feeling that must be and to hear people still talking about her faithfulness and unending prayers makes me proud to be her Grand-daughter. Love to all :)

Happy Birthday Timmy! Hope you have a blessed day with everyone you come across today being extra ordinarily nice to you!
And yes Rita, you are blessed in a unique way apart from the rest of us; to be able to go to Mommy's church and sit in "her actual seat". I hope you know that! While you're holding up her prayer banner over her pastor of course! In your lifetime you may see her prayers come to fruition! Who knows it may have been one of her prayers for you!!!
How did the pea shucking go? I know you missed Teresa terribly :)
And yes my yard sale Walmart shower curtain worked wonders for me, but I still had to stop teaching and tell Landon, "I'm not Ms Barbara, I'm Jesus mommy and NO! You can't play with my kitchen tools." To show how fragile baby Jesus was, we passed around brown farm eggs and let them drop about a foot above, into their hands. Something about that was so funny to Marleigh and she just cackled and laughed! But we had a good time as always with the kids! So here's a shout out for VBS!
Trish, I like the new look here on the blog! I'm glad that Danny's treatments are coming along and are not intolerable. Wow! Someone in front of him that he knows to talk too, Isn't that just like God! I'm so sorry that you are sick again. We are praying for the both of you. I was thinking about your church the other day, did you get a new pastor yet?
I loved what you said about the flowers on the side of the road!!!!!!!!! I've often thought that very thing. I'm talking about the beautiful blue ones that grow so tall and have oodles of flowers on them. One day I picked some and carried them to the kitchen to put in water, and they began to loose their color it seemed just as soon as I picked them. It adds new meaning to the saying "Just bloom where your planted" because God knows best! He sees the big picture after all. It is as you say, They have gone through so much and against that backdrop, they are so much more beautiful! Just like our Mom!
Everyone have a blessed day today!

Good morning or good night, whichever your case may be at 245am. I am really wishing it was good night. Can't sleep. I have had Dannys stomach virus since sat. We went to pipestem to see the Dixie melody boys and first we went tO eat at bob Evans. I couldn't finish my meal for feeling sick and had to throw up during the concert. But they were good. I love to hear quartets sing.
Danny was supposed to go to UVA Monday for a body scan and see the oncologist but I just couldn't stay out of the bathroom long enough. So we r going thursday And will learn what he has planned for him. Radiation is going well. They have people lined up every 15 min to get a dose. Teresas uncle, Wayne Fugate, is the one ahead of Danny. Turns out he is a talker and they have a lot to chat about. He graduated from Smoot in 65 so he catches up on all the goings on about town.
I really liked the testimony from Mommy's church. I have been thinking of them a lot on a daily basis of just how they did things and how I wished I had listened to more of what they told me. This is a selfish one but I had to tell it. The last few years when she could still cook and after I had got sick there wasn't much she could do but pray for me. So one day she called and I had been sick with the stomach bug and I could tell she wanted to come over and DO. Wash the dishes or fold laundry, that was her favorite. I told her I could taste some of her potato soup and cornbread. Nothing else appealed but that did, she made it and daddy brought it over. So Sunday I was still feeling sick but kept thinking about that potato soup so I asked tanner if he could make some of grandmas potato soup. His reply was why would I make that if I can't eat it? He is on the low carb diet! All I can say for him is he better hope he doesn't get sick:)
We had a wonderful gentle rain yesterday. I grabbed my umbrella and took off in the rain. My insides felt really bad and I was kind of afraid to get far from a BR but it was so peaceful. It was a welcome relief after all the hot weather we have had. One observation I made was that it's amazing the weeds that manage to grow where cars travel the most, Right on the edge of the road where cars are pushed off the road. And then as ugly and scraggly a weed after being run over, God manages to put a bloom on it.
Monica you and Bobbie look like naturals in that get up. But I am wondering where is marks costume?

Last night at church, Pastor Butch preached on prayer. He spoke about several things such as praise, teaching your children to pray...and then he said something like this..."I've been to Brother Ralph's and Sister Vivian's and when it came time to pray, everybody in the house came and joined hands and we ALL prayed...That's how Sister Vivian did it." The people at church still talk about them...One night a young man was preaching and he said that when Sister Vivian got in the Spirit and started running, you knew it was God because she couldn't have run like that...It had to be the Spirit because she was old." LOL Another man said that the first time he met Mommy in the old church, he had come to church with an earache in both ears. About the time church started, here came this little woman and laid both hands on his ears and prayed for him and he got better right then. He said she had the goods! Another man speaks quite often about how Mommy was with him when he received the Holy Ghost out at Meadow Bluff in 1955! Just thought I'd share.
