Hey from Rm 301
Yesterday, Teresa, Steve, Daniel, and Alice came and stayed with Mommy and Ruth and I went home to get a haircut and shower. Janet, Mary and Alma visited also. Mommy had a bad night the night before due to a bladder retention problem. Pretty sure that is why her BP was off the charts. They did an ultrasound and then catherized her and she is a different person. She slept all night last night and we are sitting waiting on breakfast.

I want to thank you all for taking such awesome care of Grandma. Wish I was there to help. Know how hard it can be to act as a caregiver. You are all in my prayers. May God give you giggles when you just want to sigh...a memory of a time when the person you care for once cared for you and the patience of Job to meet daily needs. I have the best family in the world.

Mom was able to stand and use the restroom with the therapist's help. They also put her in a chair for a while.

Mommy Update

Mommy's BP was 224/114 last night and they gave her cozar, vasotec AND a Nitro Patch and it didn't lower her BP so they gave her labetalol IV. That brought it down. She slept very good after her BP went down and woke to eat a little breakfast but is zonked again. They are going to get an Xray of her chest and Abdomen, Physical therapy and try to get her woke up today so she will sleep tonight. Teresa and Alice are going to stay today and Ruth and I are going to stay tonight. Trish is coming up today and Mary and Alma are supposed to visit afterwhile. Mommy's Pastor and his wife came to visit last night. She is sleeping like a log at the present.

Alice has gallstones but they are releasing her soon with a list of what to eat and what not to eat. She will schedule surgery when she gets home.

Mommy ate about 1/3 of her lunch. When she don't want anymore, she just closes her mouth. Her BP is still 198/96 which is high and that's after her BP meds. They gave her an Ativan and she is sleeping good, if we could only keep the nurses out of here and that stupid alarm pump from going off.
Daniel and Alice came up today and Daniel had to take Alice down to the ER. She started having severe stomack pain coming around from her back right above her ribs. They gave her 3 nitro pills, to rule out her heart, and it didn't ease it at all. They are running more tests on her and I'll let you know as we find out. They are talking about keeping her overnight.

Addy stayed with Mommy last night and during the night, Mommy passed out on the way to the commode (Addy caught her). Her vitals were good except for her pulse ~ 105 so they put her on telemetry to monitor her heart rate. They also gave her a laxative and she had a good cleaning out and was up most of the night. Right now she is figiting probably due to her bowels and lack of rest. The aid is going to bathe her and I think Dr. Anderson is going to give her something to help her rest. Her white count is up, and she is ordering a chest Xray, probably to see if maybe she has aspirated. Trish talked to Dr. Anderson so she could shed more light on this but right now we are just trying to get her to rest. Daniel and Alice are coming over today and Steve and Teresa are coming this evening, Ruth is coming in today also. Keep you posted. You can always call my cell, I will be staying today and tonight and possibly tomorrow. The food is good and they carry me coffee. My bed ain't bad either.

She has had a stroke. A big one this time is what dr Anderson told us. She doesn't talk except for a yes or no occasionally. It is very difficult for her to swallow but she still seems to have a gag reflex. She is going to get ice chips for now and work her way up to pureed food. She had an xray to make sure she hadn't aspirated when she choked. But it showed no pneumonia. She can walk a little with the help of two people. She smiles a lot. Linda Legg just came in to see her and she held her hand and smed at her

So what has Grandma been admitted for? Is it just so they can run tests to see what's going on?

Happy Birthday Tanner

The top picture is with our Pastor. Then you'll see mom with "Sister Padgett" lol. The bottom picture is with Mark's parents. After we were finished with the pictures Mark and I took Marleigh to the nursery to change her out of her dress. She calmed right down and was asleep before we got off the creek. We went to mom and dad's after church. Mom had made pork bbq, potatoes and green beans, all by the crock pot. Yummy!!!!!!!! Afterwards Marleigh and I took a good Sunday evening nap.

We had Marleigh dedicated yesterday morning at church. Mom got to sing for it which made it a little more special for us. There were two other children who were dedicated as well. Landon was one of them (mom babysits him). Marleigh was sound asleep at the beginning of worship service but soon woke up when preaching began. I had to take her to the nursery where she stayed a little cranky :p We came back out to the sanctuary when it was time for the dedication part of the service. From that point on Marleigh screamed her head off. We think it was a combination between her dress/hat and she needed to finish her nap lol. I don't care that she cried the whole time, she is still beautiful!!
