Hey there,
We are back home, got here around 7:30. We had a good time of fellowship today :) I always love hearing everyone sing together. Marleigh had some up close and personal time with Grandma today. Grandma actually reached her hand over the side of the sofa when she saw Marleigh standing there. It was sweet :) I missed those of you who couldn't be there with us. We had some good eatin' also. Ruth made biscuits and meatloaf. There was also turkey, mashed taters, gravy, stuffing, green beans, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, salad, desserts and I'm sure I may have overlooked some things. We all managed to put a dent in it as always lol. Cousin Colin taught Marleigh to stick her tongue out. It should be nice trying to correct that lol!!!

It sounds like you all did a good job, just wish I could have been there to sing with you, I am sure Mommy enjoyed it, even if she couldn't show it. I am sure you all made her Happy.
Evenin' Everybody
We had a housefull today. In my house, it doesn't take long to get that :) But Bobbie, Elliot, Monica, Mark and Marleigh, Steve, Teresa, Sharon (Teresa's Mom) Kelsey, Andy, and Kim, Timmy and Cindy, Dan, Ruth, and Colin were all here for the sing-a-long. We sang all Mommy's favorite songs and she showed no sign of recognition, but no matter. We did what she had asked us to do. She stayed awake while we sang though. Remember, ya'll can come by anytime, we will be here.

Mommy

Tanner, You guys have nothing to be ashamed of. Not many get to go that far. I'm just so glad you didn't get crushed by (350 lb. Crusher).
The Hospice Nurse came yesterday and listened to Mommy's lungs and said that she has aspirated some fluids in the last few days. As you probably know, this causes Pneumonia. She has only had ice chips. She said that it is up to us, and we can still give her ice, but we have to make sure she is sitting straight up. I tried to give her some yesterday and she gagged. They told her to just keep her mouth moist with Lemon/Glycerin swabs. This morning she wasn't interested in it. We got her up yesterday and as we were doin' her exercises and when we raised her hands up, we asked her to Praise the Lord and she said it "crystal clear" and she did the same today. Yesterday, we showed her the pic of her and Daddy when they were young and asked her who it was, and she said, "That's me and my man". We laughed....never having heard her refer to Daddy as "her man". We showed her recent pics of them and she seemed not to recognize herself or Daddy in them.
Mommy is taking no food or drink and hasn't since about Tues. We have offered it but she spits it out or holds her mouth shut, so we have stopped after attempting it all last week. That is what Hospice reccomends. They've been here 4 times this week and will come anytime I call with a concern. Bobbie and her family are coming up today and we are going to sing some for Mommy...You are all welcome to come and join in this afternoon if you want.
Mommy seems to be comfortable and in no pain.

Happy Thanksgiving to all :) We just finished having dinner and the triptophan (?) has set in for mom and Marleigh lol!! I believe they had a good visit this week with Grandma and Ruth. Olivia, I'm glad you didn't take Marleigh home with you because I would've been missing her terribly. I probably would've been at your door step this morning :p It's good to hear that everyone is having good recoveries from their surgeries. Addy, you'll have to keep the kids from jumping on you. I hope to get our Christmas tree up tonight after Marleigh goes to bed. I'm so excited. Janet, if I run into any problems I'll give you a call haha. Even though we couldn't all be together for Thanksgiving as we have in the past I know that we are still among family and friends. I am thankful for this family that I am a part of and no matter the distance that separates us across this country and beyond (shout out to Michelle and family in Germany lol) sometimes it seems that we're not that far apart at all. I'm thankful for the memories that I have in my mind and the love in my heart for each one of you. Hope to see you soon. Love to all :)

Mommy Update

Happy Thanksgiving All~
We had dinner (Ruth, Dan, Colin, Blain and Myself) and about the time we were just about finished, Lonnie, Marcia and Ariel came and ate with us. I tried to feed Mommy some mashed potatoes and gravy but she ate only 2 bites and then spit it out. She hasn't eaten enough to measure since Monday. She takes small amounts of water in ice chips. Hospice has been here several times and they have told us that she is in the end stages of her disease (dementia). She isn't getting any of her meds as it seems to make her gag when she has any food. I even gave her Zofran (for nausea) this morning and waited awhile but she still didn't want to eat. She has lost a noticeable amount of weight, I could really tell when I came back from being gone for a few days.
Based on the last few months and the rapid decline I have seen, I don't think it will be long at all before she joins Daddy in Heaven. You all are welcome to come up anytime to visit.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.

This was on the front page today!

Christmas Food Court Flash Mob, Hallelujah Chorus - Must See!

Hi Addy, I'm glad your surgery is over and there were no complications. We were praying for you. I also had some back pain. They gave me Lortab and I could only take half at a time.
After the first couple of days I only took the pain medication at night. The worst part for me was the terrible soreness, but it finally went away. Hope you are feeling much better soon. Hello to Paul. Love and Prayers Alice

Hi Julie Just checking on you after your surgery. Hope you are feeling much better by now. Let us hear from you . Hello to David . Love and Prayers Alice

Have A Blessed Thanksgiving

Glad everyone is kinda on the mend,As for here things are as usual, sure hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, and Lord Let us All be thankful for your Mercy and Grace that you have bestowed on us All , Love you All .
Hello Addy,
Yes, there has been some pain when I breath deep, but not severe. nauesua (spelled how)? is my worst enemy....well that and fever.
No Alice I am not back to eating normal just yet.
Guess this year is a very different year as far as the traditional type 'get - together' for the Treadway family with your mom.
Michelle and family will be eating at the Mess Hall with other military families since Joe is gone. David and I will put our celebration on hold for another week or so.........except Pumpkin pie.
David may slip off to Michael's house and pick up a plate or 2. Wendy's family get together for Thanksgiving so they will have plenty of food I'm sure.
Ruth, hope you get to feeling better.
Trish, please make sure you are completely over this sinus thing before 'chemo' as yes, your platletts will indeed go low........thus..causing your imune system to be all but none exsistent.
Love to all and a Happy Thanksgiving.
Julie and David
That's pretty neat Trish! I'm glad you don't have to drive to Lewisburg every day for that. Even though it's not that far it would still be a hassle to plan your days around that.

I'm extremely sore and having a lot of pain in my back and when I take deep breaths. I can't turn on my side or stomach to sleep so it's not very comfortable. Julie, Alice, did/are you having the same kind of pain? I was the first one in surgery and they let Paul and his mom come back to see me around 9:30. The anesthesia is wonderful when they put you to sleep, but waking up is pretty difficult for me. That's the fifth time I've been put under and I still can't see why anyone would want to do that kind of stuff all the time! I was trippin'! Paul and his mom were laughing pretty hard at me. I told them the wallpaper looked like bandaids, saw stuff crawling on the ceiling and all kinds of stuff. I even called Paul a "meanie" because he made me put my blood pressure cuff back on. I took it off because my whole body was itching. I think the oxygen makes me do that. Even though I got out pretty early, we didn't get to leave the hospital until 2:30 because I was nauseated and couldn't sit up. For those of you who have been through this, do you have any suggestions that help ease the pain? They gave me Percocet but I thinnk it helps to cut them in half and take them every 2 hours. If I take the regular dosage I'm out!

Paul stayed home with me today and I'm going to see what his plans are. I'd like to go see grandma today! I talked to Ruth last night. She is sick so she's trying to keep her germs away from Grandma so Bobbie is doing all the feeding and meds, etc. Grandma took her medicine yesterday but spit everything else out. Saturday she did pretty good, but Sunday she only ate 5 or 6 spoonfuls and drank quite a bit of liquid. I don't remember which evening it was but Merrell and Donna went to visit and played music for Grandma for about 3 hours and she didn't go to sleep at all! Didn't even put her head back! She's been sitting up until about 10:00 every night with Ruth and Bobbie watching Christmas movies and seems to like it. Even though she doesn't seem like she's eating or drinking very much, Grandma talked to me for the first time Saturday and she hasn't done that in a long time.

Mom and Dad are headed back today from their vacation. From talking to them I think they've eaten themselves miserable! I have an image of two Weebles coming home instead of my parents! Hopefully Mom will have some pictures to post when they get back.

Take care everybody, and if I don't talk to you before hand or get to see you, Happy Thanksgiving!

Love,
Addy

This is my IV it is about the size and shape of a baseball. The pump and all is in the ball! I can stick it in my pocket or whatever and go on about my business. Whoever thought of this is probably a rich fellow by now:)
addy how are things with u? Feeling any pain? Hope not.

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

Good Morning
Trish, We hope this works and that it isn't too uncomfortable. Did you guys see on CNN, the game between South Charleston and Hurricane? A fight broke out on the field that involved the majority of both teams. Attorneys are now involved for the 4 players that was suspended from the game. Blain said they should disqualify both teams and be done with it.
We had a full day. Drove about 30 miles out in the mountains to a place called Cades Cove. It was a wide valley between the mountains with nothing but open fields. It is in the Smokey Mtn National Park. We saw where a bear had crossed the road after coming out of the creek but didn't see the bear, and then we saw about 10 deer. No Bucks. It just looked alot like home to me.
Blain had to go shopping again...and then we went to Dixie Stampede, The Christmas Show. It was awesome.
About Thanksgiving...Ruth and I are going to cook a turkey, but I really can't have a dinner, as I don't have the room for everybody at once. You are more than welcome to stop by throughout the day and visit. We should have something to feed you if you are hungry!

Hey everyone,
I had to go to the hospital today to get a PICC line in my arm for a sinus infection. Apparently a SUPERbug has decided to make a home in my head! Where I have a low immunity it has become easy for me to pick these things up. MRSE, or other wise known as Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Epidermidis. My insurance has approved my chemotherapy but I can't do it until I get this infection cleared up...because the chemo is going to make my immunity even worse! I am going to have to get IV antibiotics for at least 10 days. I got my first dose today..it took 2 hours just for the meds to run in. Fortunately, my insurance has approved it for me to give it to myself! The IV company is going to bring me my supplies and meds in the morning and then I will give myself 2 doses a day.
When I went to register for my stuff at the hospital, was I surprised to see Addy and Colin! Colin was excited, he was going to eat at Long John Silvers! Addy, Colin said he likes Fozzy the best! He doesn't like any of my dogs! LOL
Marsha has asked about Thanksgiving Dinner? Are we cooking and having dinner with mommy or whats going to happen? Let us know so we can get our cooking started. We won't be able to come til that evening because Helen is having dinner at noon on the dot! LOL
Tanner and the team will head off to New Martinsville on Friday at 10am. It is about an hour from Parkersburg in the panhandle. We are going up as well, I guess up and right back. 4 hours up and 4 hours back! Definitely a long day, I just hope we win otherwise it will be a long ride back! This team is supposed to be really really good! I am going to post a few pictures from Saturdays game. It was early afternoon and so sunny and warm...just like a college game! Well I am headed off to bed!
Night everyone!
Addy, we will be keeping you in our prayers, what is this with everyone having gallbladder surgery,I think Alice started it , I sure hope it's not catching LoL.
Sorry Janet, I ment Addy
Janet

We will be praying for you, hope all goes well. Let us know how it went when you can.

Julie
Glad to hear all went well with your surgery, are you back to eating yet.

Love and Prayers
Say a little prayer for me, I have to be at the hospital at 6:45 am for gallbladder surgery! AND I'm not allowed to wear make-up! (That means you should also say a prayer for everyone else!) I don't do very well waking up from anesthesia so keep me in your thoughts. I will update you all when I'm up to it!

Love,
Addy
Looks like everyone is staying busy.   We are too!  Mom and dad seem to be having a really good time in TN.  Monica~ are you as jealous as I am?  Addy is getting a kick out of dad wanting to go shopping in Gatlinburg.  I told her that the only thing there to do was t-shirts, Tattoos and mini-golf.  If dad comes home with a tattoo...Well, you know!

Anyway, I am not sure who is growing faster, Brooks or Ladybird.  Congrats on the rolling over:)  Pretty soon he'll be wrestling all over the floor with Clara.   Speaking of wrestling, Colin may get some of that in tomorrow if he gets to come and visit.  Kaiden and Olivia are excited, but Colin may be running for the hills, literally:)

Grandma~  I know that enjoyed that pickin' and grinnin'.  Kaiden hasn't had a kiss this week so we'll be up soon to visit!  Love you!

FYI- Trish had to cancel her Mary Kay party for tonight for obvious reasons, but she is having an online party today.  All sales go toward her credit.  You can check it out at marykay.com/jsims  and find great Christmas presents:)

Love you all and Happy Hunting to all you that are in the woods today.  Keep us posted on the big bucks (little ones too!)

Monica,

I forgot to post a while back...Ladybird is over 50 lbs. now and is probably going to double that within the next 4-6 months! She's like a miniature horse.

Hey Everybody!

Mom, Meadow Bridge lost their game. Apparently it was pretty bad, people leaving early and players getting ejected and all...anyway!

Colin has been hanging out at my house today. We watched the Steelers game and had a nice dinner. I might just keep him around for a while. He helped me fold blankets, make the beds, set the table, even cleaned up the bathroom after he showered! And he volunteered to do it all! He was a little nervous because he doesn't like dogs, but that didn't last long!

Mom, I'm so glad you guys are having a good time! Eat a doughnut for me!

Rita, glad you and Blain are enjoying your little vacation, sounds like you are having fun.you need it.I talked to Ruth today and she and Bobbie said Mommy was listing to Merrel and Donna Play and sing for her, But that she hadn't eaten to much today. but they we're going to watch Christmas Movies with her tonight, she seemed to enjoy them.
Trish I sure hope you get to feeling better, so far no one here has gotten the flu bug yet.and tell Tanner we're glad they won their game, and are going on.
How Sweet, Brooks! Anybody know how Meadow Bridge did with their game? It is beautiful here in Pigeon Forge...72 and sunny. Traffic is moving right along, no delays...Whoopee! I think Blain is losing his mind...he wants to stop and shop EVERYWHERE. I think somebody exchanged bodies with him during the night! Addy, we had the fresh KK donut...O MY WORD! We came back just in time to rest and change shoes before going on the Titanic.

The big man just rolled over for the first time!
