Facebook post for you NON facebookers :)

I have had the best evening with my nephew Colin! Just hanging out and catching up. We are driving down the road and I ask him, "Colin, whats your favorite song?" If you know Colin, he loves music and has a large vast supply. Every genre, from Michael Jackson to Michael W. Smith! So he spouts off a title which in the first place I am amazed because I thought he liked so much he could never pick just one! I didn't understand what he said so he repeated....a few times. So I say, "let me check my iphone I have some of his music" It was burnt cds that had just track numbers, no titles! So here we go one by one to see if its THE song. Track 6 starts and he says thats it thats it "My Place In This World" So we turn it up and he is jamming in his off key, muttery voice but the lyrics he is singing is coming from way down deep. And he knows every word! I haven't listened to this song for a long time so of course I am crying and we have it way loud- he is playing it on piano on his side, I am conducting on mine! For those that know Colin, you know his struggles in life. He has down syndrome and I am sure has wondered about his PLACE in the world! I thanked him for reminding me of this beautiful song and the fact that YES we ALL have a place in this world!

My Place In This World

The wind is moving
But I am standing stil
lA life of pages
Waiting to be filled
A heart that's hopeful
A head that's full of dreams
But this becoming
Is harder than it seems
Feels like I'm
Chorus:
Looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world
My place in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need Your light to help me find
My place in this world
My place in this world
If there are millions
Down on their knees
Among the many
Can you still hear me
Hear me asking
Where do I belong
Is there a vision
That I can call my own
Show me I'm

This is the picture Janet was talking about. Lorie sent it to me. What a gem it is. Do you recognize that little girl? Miss addy!! That was in our first house at Dawson. The one where the wind blew outside and the curtains moved inside;)

David it's funny you mentioned daddy's sayings. Jacob read the one I stitched for y'all "can't never could but try was a pretty good dog" he said what does that mean?! Lol
The one he always told me was "sis your in the light" ok I got the picture! Move out the way! I really miss him in the spring! it's so easy to imagine him in the yard! doing trimming planting digging mowing and weed eating And telling me he ain't planting no garden and in the same breath asking me to pick him up 15 different kinds of seeds. ;)

I went to the doctor Tuesday and she tells me 4 more weeks of the high dose steroids before I can consider backing down. She said hmmmm you don't look like a prednisone patient yet! Then she tells me 6 weeks you will! Welcome back round face and cheeks out to my nose. I haven't slept for 3 weeks. I lay in the bed and wait Til time to get up and my brain works all night. And this is WITH a sleeping pill! My sugars running high so I am trying to watch that. All because of prednisone. She doubled the imuran, which is the immunosuppressnt. Goldie did uncle Dave ever take that? Makes me sick. Nauseated and flu like symptoms achy all over and in the evening I get this lovely rash.
I see a rheumatologist at The Greenbrier on Monday. I told her if I could stay here and she treat me instead of going to the Cleveland clinic would be easier but if all else fails to Cleveland I go. I asked her if she thought I was getting lupus and she deferred that question to the rheumatologist. Everything else I have is in that little box of diseases. I remember mommys sister marthie had that and I remember going to visit her when she was so sick and I am sure now right before she died.

I am so excited for these babies to get here! Just think next time we get together at Labor Day there will be a new little Treadway And then another right after! You guys are doing your job with the go forth and multiply! Mommy would be proud!
I have to tell you I watched the best video of marleigh at her church Easter service. I am here to tell you as soon as I can get the clip recorded it will go viral. Y'all just wait!

Love y'all
Don't forget to say a prayer for me Monday! And the doctor:)

Hey everyone!  The kids are in bed, Matthew is at the farm, and I sat down to get caught up on the Blog.  Not that it takes much these says, but I am sitting here crying my eyes out and missing Danny more than usual.  Today, Trish sent me a picture that I thought was of Danny holding me unside down.  I thought it was too cute to be Addy, but as it turns out, she must have been having a good day.  However, I was in my classroom when it came through and I was sitting there in the quiet thinking about the summer that Danny and I rode to Clifton Forge together everyday.  Although I HATED that job, I am so greatful for that time we had together.  We laughed and talked on those long rides.  I got alot of good advice and mom's ears probably did alot of burning.  I could always count on Danny to stear me in the right direction without ever saying Mom was right or judging me.  He never made me feel like I was dumb when I went to him with problems or just wanted to talk.  Then, I was thinking that poor Danny had been listening to me chatter since those days on the glider when he and Trish were only "courting".

Happy Birthday to Adam, Cory, Ariel and Grandpa~  Hope your day was a blessed one!

Marcia, I hope we can make it on Sunday:)

I ma going to post the invitation to the shower on the blog, but you will be receiving a hardcopy in the mail soon.

Kim, Let us know what you find out!

I go for an ultrasound on Monday.  This little one turned on Sunday and I felt it.  Never felt that before, but then I guess he changed his mind and turned back.  Haha I only have about eight weeks to go.  I guess we should probably come up with a name.

Yes, Happy 91st Birthday Daddy. There isn't a day that goes by when you aren't missed. Thanks for all the lessons you taught me. I often recall your mannerisms and phrazes you used and it is so easy to remember you when I repeat them. 'Pon my word 'en honor', 'Well, I declare!', "Humph!", "Well if you don't know, who does?"(used when he would ask a question to which I did not know the answer), "Shoot far!"(hey, that's the way it came out, irregardless of the spelling error), "Well, hold it still!" (I was always having to hold something he was working on and invariably it would move at the wrong time). Come on, I know you guys can add a few Ralphisms to this list. David
Happy birthday daddy!

Our church! Sunday a little girl ten years old sang and she had the booming voice if a mighty angel. She Sang blessings then Jesus loves me and amazing grace. Unbelievable! There is a video of her floating around I am gonna try and find her.
Where was this revival?  I'm so glad you are getting to go?  I love those services where you hear the old preached with a new twist!  It is as you said, Like you are hearing it for the first time and there is a thirst in your heart to see what God is going to do with it!
Boy did you miss a good service. I told chaplain Mitchell I felt like a kid in Sunday school hearing a bible story for the first time.
He preached in acts 8 and told about how Jesus told Saul to go to the desert to preach right when he was on fire where he was.
He then told us how god had used him as the speaker at the service of the upper big branch mine after the mining accident. And how the crowd kept getting bigger with important people Til even the president and vp were there. He told how god uses you to get to the important people that need to hear.
It just gave me
Goosebumps I think Gary used to call them God goosebumps :). Music was good food was good had plenty. I counted 80 . I ended up working in frankford elemen 1st grade yesterday. Of course I always look for people I know and there was Tina Forren first thing then I didn't know anyone else. Lunchtime here come Tristan deeds the preachers son and gave me a hug. Then that evening I had to ride the bus with my students and I get in the bus and the bus driver said do you wanna ride both runs since it your first just to see everything. So I told him normally I would love the offer but I had to hurry home and cook for revival. Of course he wanted to know who and where. So he said well I will get you back quick cause I am coming and I wanna make sure you have time to cook;). It was My preachers father in law! God takes care of everything...even the food to feed the crowd:)
Oh and little jaden went up to be saved and baptized. She is only 6! when he questioned her about jesus she saud preacher i know all about that! It was all so good I just had to share.

We were watching the news the night of the marathon bombing.  Of course, Marleigh was in the living room with us.  She asked what happened and what was wrong with all the people.  I told her that someone had done something bad and that a lot of people were hurt.  We have always told her that police, ambulances and fire trucks go and help people.  When she saw the police and ambulances she knew what they were there for.  She asked to pray for them that night before bed so we did :)
I heard on my way to work this morning that with all the tragic news a lot of people were not listening to it with their kids. But I am thinking its everywhere you SHOULD listen with your kids and when they have the questions YOU get to answer them. Not a teacher or stranger or go unanswered. The news is a scary place for adults I can imagine being 5 and seeing all of this crazy stuff with no one to explain it to me!

Food for Thought

"There are 7 things that will destroy us:
Wealth without work;
Pleasure without conscience;
Knowledge without character;
Religion without sacrifice;
Politics without principle;
Science without humanity;
Business without ethics."

Mahatma Gandhi

And up there with Gandhi, is Fred Rogers:

"When I was boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me:  'Look for the helpers.  You will always find people who are helping.'"
