Yeah Steve, that's the new lens. I love it! It's my favorite of my 3.

These are Zac's onions that he has been so diligently moving into the sun every afternoon. I'd say they are looking pretty good for a week and a half, but I really don't know what onions are supposed to look like, haha!

Zac and I went to a waterfall that's just down the road today called Brush Creek Falls. It was really nice...we were out in between the rain, so we didn't get wet. Maybe a little muddy, but at least it wasn't cold.

By the way, nice prom pics! Kelsey's hair looks awesome!

Nice pictures -hope you had better weather for prom than we did here. Hope they all had a wonderful time. As if everyone wasn't already reliving the famous four wheeler incident. I think we actually went this Easter without anyone mentioning it so we were due. I just did that so that everyone would have something to talk about for the next...twenty years! Needless to say it worked! LOL It is probably a touchy subject with Shawn considering it was his 4-wheeler that got water logged. If my memory serves me correctly, he was way more concerned about it than he was about me...Go figure!
Janet,
Steve read my mind (lol)!! Those pics are beautiful Steve. Look like they had wonderful weather for the prom today.
Janet...I don't think you should mention my orange motorcycle or I'll have to mention the "Four wheeler incident" lol :>)

Here is a couple of pics before prom today. Aren't they handsome?

Emily, is that your new lens? Nice bokeh!

You read my my mind Addy! As I was reading about the pop, I was thinking about the ketchup incident. Dad got in the truck and said, "What did you do?" And we were like, "What?" He was sssssooooo mad. It probably still has ketchup on that windshield. I just remember when it popped and splattered, your face was pricelss. Fortunatly for us, dad keeps toilet paper in the truck for emergencies. I am sure this wasn't what he had in mind!
Monica,
I wish you would have told me that you were going to stop at the scenic overlook, I would have stopped you. You can see more water in the desert after it rains.

And Janet,
as for Nana switchin the kids, I'm completely with you when you say that you wish it was like that when we were kids. I wonder where Olivia and Kaiden's paddles are with their names on them like we had... well where are they mom???

I did stuff at Mom and Dad's that I wouldn't do at grandma's. How stupid of me!!! I remember when I spilled a pop all over the kitchen floor because I dropped it and then opened it right in the middle of the kitchen. I wiped it up with papre towels and then took the half that was still in the can to Dad. I lied to Dad and told him that I didn't spill it and then got the crap beat out of me when he walked in the house and his shoe stuck to the floor.

Also, Janet...
remember when we were in Rainelle in Dad's little red Ford ranger? He was in Flint's and you were playing with a packet of ketchup. It exploded and went all over the windshield and you tried to clean it up with napkins. I've never seen a windshield streaked so bad. Then there was also the time I spilled his spit bottle.

I'm just giving you a preview of what Olivia and kaiden are going to do to you and Matthew!!!!
Poor Spot, are grandma and grandpa doing ok? I know they've had Spot quite some time. Janet, I do remember that day me, you and Joe had to sit on seperate couches. It seemed like FOREVER!!!! I had never been so glad to go play. I know we laughed the whole time she had us sitting there:) I miss Joe!! I do not know these switches that you speak of. I was very familiar with them in Virginia, but not West Virginia. The dust buster/switch was too funny Trish, I had to tell Mark. Emily, those are pretty flowers you have there in Athens. When Mark and I were coming home from grandma's on Easter, we stopped at the "scenic" overlook right before you get to Athens. I had been wanting to stop there for quite some time. What a disappointment!! I thought I was going to be able to see the river and cliffs. I was able to spot a small section of the river and the rest were trees. Had there been any leaves on them I couldn't have seen anything. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's beautiful in the fall but I was really wanting to see that river :(
I am sure with the grandchildren, it hurt her much more than it did you guys. It was all show for us!

Aww, poor Spot! are they gonna get another dog/cat?

Ok, ok I do remember it being called haunted house. and i loved the ice crusher. i wasn't there, but i remember hearing about colin hiding in the dryer, and i thought it was hilarious.

These are a couple of pictures from Athens...i love all of the flowers that are blooming!

And what I remember getting was the flyswatter. she never did it til it hurt though, haha.

As if Olivia even knows what a switch is? And even if she did, do you really think Nana would ever use it on her???? All she has to do is say sorry to Nana and she gets out of trouble just like that? Why wasn't it like that when we were home Addy? I find it hard to beleive that grandma ever chased anyone with a cherry tree switch either. LOL By the way, Steve, I have heard some stories on you, too. I remember a few involving that old orange motorcycle.
I'm glad we never did any of that nonsense growing up...right siblings? lol :) Those were the good ole' days.
I don't think grandma ever really switched any of you! She used to chase me around the house with a cherry switch. She would work on my legs til they were bleeding. Speaking of switches, when I had Olivia and Kaiden at the house on Wednesday, Olivia went into the kitchen to throw away some trash. Right above the trash can I have hanging up my blue feather duster. Olivia said TT I really like your purty switch! Rita, is that what you use? You must be getting soft in your old age!
I talked to Daddy this evening and Spot has been missing since saturday. Well they found him this evening. He was under the little house dead. Daddy said it looked like he had been hit by a car and managed to make it back up the hill to die. I had just cut all his hair off on saturday and gave him a bath. He looked soooo good. Me and Mommy both decided the reason he was missing was because he was out looking for a girl friend.
Janis, Daddy said that Lee was planning on coming to visit for about 3 weeks. Is that right?
Daddy said he planted his garden today. Onions, for now. The sign was right. Lonnie plowed them a spot on Monday.
Monica, Do you remember when you, Joe and I got into trouble and had to sit on the couches on separate ends of the room? It was killing us to be quiet and we were all laughing. Grandma would threaten to switch us and then bust out laughing because we were laughing.
I personally would like to hear Shawn's account of the wax floor/socks/scooter incindent. I wonder if that scooter still worked after it's trip down the steps? He probably tried to block that out of his memory. I just remember Joe saying, "Man, I sure hope grandpa doesn't bust his can on that floor." LOL AAAAHHHH the ice crusher! For some reason, ice tasted so much better from there instead of staight from the freezer.
Me and Emily always had fun when we would stay the night up there, except for the fact that she was the worst person in the world to sleep with on a fold-out bed. I still think I had internal bleeding from her kicking me and such... but grandma always used to let us make popcorn after Papaw went to bed.
Ahh, the ice crusher, my second best friend. It served me many a cold drink as I was growing up (rip) :) And who would've thought how some floor wax and socks would be so much fun!!!
I would personally like to hear each of your account of the time Grandpa was down on the "River" and he came back and almost caught you all skating in the house. Good think Grandma was doing her job at the "Lookout" or you would all be toast!!!
Sure we all remember Huanted House...but do you guys remember pushing me around the basement on that cart Papaw used to bring wood in??? We covered it with blankets so we wouldn't get dirty. And we ALL know how much Monica misses the ice crusher! (may it rest in peace...) By the way, for Christmas I bought Olivia the fishing game because I know how many fond memories I have of that thing. And don't you know that it is still up at grandma's, mom found it when she was cleaning.
Janet,
My gut is busting, that was too funny!! What a vivid little memory you have. I must concur with "it's called haunted house" though :P I'm just surprised that you had time to sit down and type that much on the blog in one sitting, shockingggggggg.

Haven't read this in a while, but now that I am getting caught up, it is nice to see that my fire safety methods are still being talked about. I believe that made me famous. And to think that mom thought I was stupid for leaving the door locked when I created our little fire escape plan. Emily, I am also glad to see that someone recognizes how hard some of us worked to make life better and much more memorable for the younger generation. I mean, what fun Andy, Kelsey, Adam, Corey and Tanner are missing. By the way, genius, it's called haunted house (basement) not blankets over the window. And another thing, although grandma is getting older, she still remembers us as her favorites so could you keep the part about jerking the blankets off the window when she cam downstairs hush, hush...LOL! What was not to love????? Bobby Shawn somewhere on a motorcycle or with a gun and Timmy Wayne hot on his heels...Monica and myself fighting over who was Amy's best friend and Joe running around going "Oh my Gosh! No you didn't!" And then, in the background you hear Addy singing "How Far is Heaven?" and Emily screaming from the playpen. Those were definitely the good old days- what I wouldn't give for a weekend at grandma's house with those nuts again!
Emily,

lucky for you I learned from the older cousins (janet, monica, joe, etc.) they left a great legacy!!

And it's day 2 of the bomb threats. This is getting really rediculous. I told the other teachers we just need to get a bunch of men with guns, a whole bomb squad, to put the fear of God into these kids. Oh somebody pray that I don't go HULK on these kids!!!
Janis~The sunshine and garden work will be the best thing for your dad. That's the way it goes with everything happening at once, when it rains, it pours. I tell Mommy and Daddy that we talk to you online. When you see or talk to your family, tell them we are thinking about them and would love to hear from them. Everybody is so busy these days. I value the time I have to sit on my front porch in the evenings and just relax. I'd rather do that than just about anything else.
Hey Addy, the truth is coming out! Monica, that was good insight on Janet's part, I agree. Who woulda' thunk it???
David looks pretty good to be Grandpa, Xs 5!!! I'm glad my veggies were a hit Sunday. Steve called me last night and said he was cooking them too. And I was worried that no one would like them!!! See, eating healthy can be good!!

Rita, Daddy's doing pretty good he has been getting out in the sun a lot. I told him it was good on his bones. He says he going to put the garden out again. I guess I will help him put stuff up again this year. He gives me a lot of it anyway. And we are doing OK here to. just seems like everything mess' up at the same time like riding mower the push mower and tiller weed eater.I guess from all of that we are doing fine. Nice look David, he still looks the same to me. Tell your mama and Daddy I send my love.
We are into our last 2 weeks of school and man is it getting crazy! I just want it to be summer already. =P

Rita, we made potatoes, carrots, onions and chicken in some olive oil and salt, pepper and garlic tonight and it was soooo good. I don't think it was as good as yours was Sunday though.

Addy, I remember playing hide and seek in the basement with you and putting blankets up over the windows when grandma had told us not to. Then when she came down the steps we had to jerk them off so we wouldn't get in trouble. You were a great role model. lol!

Here is a couple pics of David and a good one of Mom and Dad. Now we know what he would like with a full beard. Ha Ha.
Addy,
It appears your older sister had more insight than we knew. That fire drill so long ago in the chilly November morning was preparing you for the drills you'll both be going through as teachers. She is so smart!!
Janis~How are things in your neck of the woods? How is Uncle Lee doing? Does he feel like gettin' out and about? Neva, I was hoping you would chime in. Steve, post some pics of David on here. It's beautiful here today, I just can't stay in the house, even though, that is where all the work is!!! You guys pray for my friend Marcie Brooks. She has Thyroid cancer and is having Surgery at CAMC Friday morning at 6:00. I worked with her at the Red Cross and she lives at Mineral Wells now.
OK...so after this morning I am DEFINITELY ready for summer. I have officially experienced my first bomb threat. We were outside for about 2 hours while they combed the school with the dogs. I think a student found a note eiher in the hallway or bathroom that said there was a bomb at the school or something to that effect. Who even knows. Everything is fine but these kids chased each other around for 2 hours and threw grass at each other. Now they stink from sweating and I still have 2 1/2 hours to go!
Well I'm not sure what "Addy" you guys were thinking about but I was an absolute angel and a joy to be around, even though I was tormented by my older sister! What you can expect from a girl who's sister makes her stand out in the cold on a frosty November morning, for a fire drill??? C'mon, she was definitely trying to get rid of me!

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!
As Olivia would say,"yeah, right Addy!"
No comment on the last two comments!!!!
This is me, "keeping my comments to myself". I believe everyone can recall the younger Addy :) haha
Well, I guess everything's slowin down since the honeymoon and I can finally get some things done. But man I don't know if I EVER want kids. These middle school brats are drivin me nuts. I know we just had spring break, but I can't wait til summer. I never acted like these kids. (please keep your comments to yourself) lol

This is Mommy and Daddy at the cookout that we had for his 87th birthday. I don't know what he was laughing at, but doesn't he look like Grandpa Treadway!! We had a good time and the weather was extemely beautiful. Steve and Andy rode up on their Crotch Rockets (I know, I told Steve he was too old to be ridin' that thing) and Lonnie and 4 of his friends stopped by on their motorcycles. Trish and all her family (Yeah, Emily and Zac found their way up here) Paul and Addy, and I think that was all. Food was great and they even got in a few rounds of Corn Hole.

Hey everyone. So sorry that we missed you at mom's today if you were there. We've been gone every weekend, so we finally had to stay home and get some yard work in. The kids enjoyed just being home for a change. We don't do that much. Miss you all.
