The Taylor Swift concert was awesome!!!!! We loved it. Here are a few pictures.
Happy birthday Ariel and congrats on the drivers license :p We won't be able to come tomorrow either but I know everyone will have a good time as usual.

I ask that you all pray with me concerning my job. I go back to work on May 31st and as of right now I'm still on midnight. I want a daytime position 8 am-4/5 pm monday-friday before I go back to work. I know this is specific but the Bible says "we have not because we ask not". I have been praying for this for a while now. I ask you to pray with me because the Bible also says in Matthew 18:19 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven". I claim this for me!

Addy, I'm glad you had the heart to check on that man at Hardee's. I think that speaks wonders of what a wonderful raising you had as a child and adult :) I think all of us have been raised in a big, blessed family. Those were cute pics of Olivia and Kaiden. Olivia's hair is getting so long, I don't think I've ever seen it that long before. Well, I wish everyone a blessed day tomorrow and a blessed week!! Enjoy!!

I am posting a picture of what Kaiden got painted on his face at the carnival today. At first, he wanted a butterfly, but when I asked him if he wouldn;t rather have a tractor, he said "Uncle Lonnie's Es...." ( I assumed correctly that it was escavator.) The girl just looiked at him funny. Fortunately for her, he had a picture of one on his shirt. She did a pretty good job too!

Yes, Marsha you will really get the gray hair now, But hopefully Airel will be a good driver, but we will say a prayer for her. sure wish we could be there for your cook out, I know it will be lots of fun.Tell everyone hi for us and we love you all .
Sorry we can't make it to the cook out, Hope everyone has a great time and you don't get rained out. Yes we will say a prayer for you Marcia since Ariel is driving. We hope to come in before too long. I liked the tanning area you had there Lonnie. We are glad that all seems to be healing very well, we are praying for that very thing. Take care, we love you all.
Well Ariel can officially drive on her own! She never had any interest until she got a boyfriend she actually wanted to spend time with and I of course would never take her as much as she liked. And ofcourse she didn't want me hanging around. She has started applying for jobs so she will have run around money. She turned 18 on friday and got her licenses on friday AND I started getting more gray hairs. I say a prayer every time she leaves because just like Lonnie who always thought he could get out of anybodys way, we all know it is not always true. Say extra prayers for her. Lonnie continues to do good. He still has one area on his skin graft that is taking longer to completely heal over. It just looks like a scabbed area that is moist. At this time there are no signs of infections. For all the nurses, I smell it every time I change a dressing. The best way to catch a infection before it gets out of control is by smell. It will smell bad before it looks bad. So much for the nursing class. Hope to see everyone who is able to come tomorrow. Lonnie was worried I did not tell everyone, so I assured him that Trish put it on the blog. Like always we will have pork, hotdogs, baked beans, pasta salad, chips, cake and drinks.

Hey Everybody,

Lonnie, I hope you're getting to enjoy all this sunshine! I know we are. And happy Birthday Ariel, you're officially an adult now!

I know it's been a while since I blogged but I just had to share with you what happened this morning. I'm so frustrated that I'm not even sure what to think.
I got up at 4:30 so I could be early to work and get a few things done this morning. I ended up getting to school late. On my way to work, I had a hankering for a chicken biscuit from Hardee's and since I was early I decided to take a detour. When I got to Hardee's I started to pull throught the drive-thru. There was a rediculous line of traffic, which I expected, but we sat there what seemed like forever without moving. There was a white Lumina at the head of the line and it wasn't even pulled up to the place where you order. Finally the truck that was behind the Lumina drove around it and the other cars followed. From where I was, the car looked like it had been deserted, broke down maybe. There was still an excessive line so I pulled to the side and walked in to order. I got my breakfast, carried it out to my car, and started to leave the parking lot.
The Lumina was still there but when I drove passed, I looked in the car and there was a man in the driver's seat! His eyes were closed. I parked my car and ran over to the Lumina. I did not try to open the door and the windows were up. I watched him for a few seconds and could see that he was breathing. I ran back into Hardee's and told the girl at the register. She and her manager went out to the car, knocked on the window, he didn't respond. They called 911, and by that time since they knew he was there, and there wasn't anything else I could do, I got in my car and came to work.
After about 45 minutes I called Hardee's to see if the man was ok. She said that the cops and ambulance came, got in the car and woke him up, the medics checked him out and he was fine. He told them he was just really sleepy. Since his vitals were fine, and he wasn't drunk, etc. they sent him home.
While I don't agree with them letting him drive home, that's the least of my worries. I have no idea how long he had been there before I pulled in the parking lot. How many people drove around him? You could clearly see him in the vehicle, but couldn't tell if he was breathing until you got up close.
It is so disturbing that people are so concerned with "self" that they can ignore something that is obviously a problem. And from the students I'm teaching, I don't see an improvement happening any time soon. What if that man had a heart attack, or an aneurism?
I don't know this man's situation, but I'm asking that you say a prayer for him today, and for all the people that drove around him.

We made it!

Cook out at Lonnies

Hey everyone, this is really from Marcia. I am just posting it for her. They are cooking out Sunday at 1pm for Ariels birthday. They went anyone that can to come. Dont have to bring a thing. Just come and eat. She will be 18! Wow, can you believe it?
Lonnie~ Just a tip- if you don't get those socks off, you are going to have some serious tan lines:) Lookin' Good! Enjoy the down time, won't last much longer! Love ya
Vesta , was happy with your picture , I ask her if she seen it and she, said yea, and he's drinking a coke and eating cheese crackers, Grandma! way to go .Lol
Sun Tannin'! Now that's what I'm talking about! Looks like you have come up with a plan. And we were so worried that you would not stay off those legs. What were we thinking! Lay back and enjoy, this time will be over before you know it! We are about to get some 80's down our way. Can't wait. My kids play out early and then watch movies when they wake up from nap. We got a plan too! We just found another park in town and it is really clean. The Methodist church built it for the community. It has an ark, a train and slides with the chewed up tires for padding on the ground. Picnic tables for lunch. We are doing this tomorrow! We'll be thinking about ya!
Trish, glad to hear that you are in remission! You are talking about the muscles disease, right? We have been expecting that!

By the way, Dad says he could get used to this.

As you can see Daddy is doing quite well, especially since he has Mama and I working for him. Everything is going well for him. As far as updates go this one isn't gonna be very informative because I nreally don't know whats going on. For that just ask mom. She's the nurse. Speaking of, she was getting glass out of Daddy's arm (which was pretty fun, just like operation) and she also pulled out a huge piece from his hand. Other than that nothing big is going on. Pretty much we're just enjoying being together right now.

I'm Just Walkin'

I'm Just Walkin'

Tanner and Greg met up with a friend of his sisters from NY who is walkin' across America! He was on day 28 and just happened to be staying in a hotel near (his first since walking). They took him out for supper and got their picture on his blog. This is a link to it and shows his travels. Pretty interesting reading!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Daddy, I thought of you today, as I often do, when I look at the flowers shooting up after the rain and the trees all full of bloom. I know you are in Heaven and at Peace with your heavenly family now, but I still miss you. The advice you would give me whether I asked for it or not; the way you laughed when Mommy forgot what she was doing; the way you cried when we would sing an old hymn; the random phone calls "just wondering how you are", I miss it all! Mommy talks of you often, with more smiles now than tears. So many fond memories that she lovingly recalls and shares with us often of days when times were hard, babies were all about and love was plentiful. She tells me that she is ready to go to Heaven with a smile. I know she wants to see Jesus but she will get to see you too and her babies she talks so much about. So keep watching over us while we finish our journey here on earth, for it won't be long, I think, that Mommy will join you on the throne. Have a happy birthday today pain free with your new body and new life. We are thinking of you, not with tears, but smiles and laughter!
Is she lovin' that cake or what! She is beautiful! She is about Clara's age looks like.
Janet, that is wonderful about your new church. Marleigh will be 2 mo. soon and she seems to love the music at church. Hand clapping seems to scare her though! Not that we do an excess of that!
Lonnie you are beginning your 4th wk. Are you progressing like you thought you would? Just think, you will be up and on your own by Father's Day!

She is so precious:)

Lonnie~ Hope today is better than than all the rest. Love you!

I have a praise to share. I believe that my joy has been renewed. I haven't stood to testify in church yet, so I thought I would share this with you. We have been hit and miss with church for a while and just weren't really feeling "at home" where we were. The Lord worked in our lives by providing us with a lady to keep the kids and it just so happened that her husband started preaching at a local church. She invited us and we have been so blessed. I am not sure why we are so surprised when God works, but he certainly did and I am so thankful:) I feel like my cup is overflowing. To add to that, both kids love going to class and are learning so much:) Kaiden would never go on his own before. TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Just wanted to share this morning! Hope you all have a blessed day!
Monica, Those are beautiful pictures of Marleigh, she is filling out so good and looking as cute as a button.

Happy Birthday Daddy, I Miss You and I Love you .
Dad would have been 88 today

A Note From Heaven

If I could write from Heaven,
this is what I'd say,
Please don't miss me too much,
I'm with you throughout your day.

You may not see or hear me,
but if you're quiet and still
You may feel my presence;
because in Heaven, there is free will.

Don't worry for the day,
it will come and go as planned,
Enjoy each moment you are given,
Keep worry from your hand.

Keep sorrow to a minimum;
For if Heaven you could see,
You'd know I'm safe and happy,
I do not cease to be.

Moments in time are brief,
Until we'll be together again,
As eternity last forever,
Our lives, they have no end.

~Hallmark~
