Emily~  Congrats on finishing.  I know that really is a relief.  Zack~  Congratulations on your new manly job:)
Trish,
I was told to have my teeth taken care of 1 month before my chemo started. I had chemo for 8 months and had to wait another 10 months before I could go to the dentist for anything. As far as your teeth aching, my teeth, my jaws hurt and all my joints swelled after each treatment. Heat towels in the microwave and hold them to your jaw and that might help.
Chemo does weird things. We are thinking of you and praying for you.
Love
Julie
I love when our blog is active...love reading about what's going on with everyone!

I finished my last final yesterday, hallelujah! This semester was pretty rough, and I'm so glad I'm done with it. Only 3 more semesters to go....at Concord. A few more after that. ;)

Zac started his new job today...which is a huuuge blessing. It's at Rent-A-Center in Princeton. He'll be lifting and moving furniture mostly, which he is excited about because it's manly. And he works with 4 other guys which he will also like...I think he was really tired of working with girls after being at Starbucks, lol. Their Christmas dinner at the mexican place in Princeton is tonight and they asked us to come...so I guess he started just in time, ha.

We had a graduation party for my friend and her whole family here today and her and my other friend have been here for the last couple of days...so needless to say, I have a mess to clean up. (They forgot to buy paper plates...I used every dish I had! haha)

stay warm everybody! love ya'll!

Monica~  What is hankerin?

I will be sending Sally a card.  Defintely invite her to Teresa's house- she won't mind, right Teresa?  As grandma would say, "there is always room for one more."  We know that was her motto with children as well.

I am certainly enjoying these snow days at home with the kids.  Olivia keeps asking why she can't go to school.  Hope she always loves school this much.

Say a prayer for moma nd dad.  They plan to take the kids to the movies on Thursday and if you know Kaiden, you know that he probably won't sit still that long.  Did you ever think you would see the day when my dad would pay to watch a princess movie? (Tangled)  Amazing what grandkids will do, isn't it?  Oh nevermind, he'll probably be outside the theatre entertaining Kaiden anyway:)

Have a good day everyone~  Love you!
Shane, glad you made it on the blog, great to hear from you , now maybe some of these other guys will start blogging.
Wow , that is some breakfast you are having , although it's kinda strange , lol my grandkids would love it.Hope every one else is staying warm ,we don't have a lot of snow , but it sure is COLD.
Yea Shane, you made it!  I can't exactly say that your breakfast is making my mouth water...oh except for that chocolate part =)  I figured the winters in boston would be bad!  You left too soon then, we have some really good sledding snow!

Well I am beginning to think that my toothache is more mouth related now.  I talked to the chemo doc and sinus  problems apparently go hand in hand.  The pains in my leg seem to have taken over the rest of my body.  Feels like I did when I was first diagnosed, like I have no prednisone on board!  I talked to my doctor at cleveland and she said that hopefully this would pass, but didn't offer anything for me to do in the mean time.

That is so tragic about Sallys granddaughter, I will definately send her a card.  Rita if she is back in town for New Years you should invite her up for our get together if she doesn't have plans.  I talked to Georgia and told her to come up if she wanted to.

I was feeling pretty bad yesterday evening so Jacob fixed my supper!  3 scrambled eggs with cheese and toast. It was his first and they were really good. I can't really find anything that I want to eat but that just sounded so good!  Amy we are still enjoying your cheese that you left!  We had cheeseburgers the night before and I had 4 different kinds of cheese on it!  Yummmmy

Stay warm today and be careful!
I kept telling myself that I'd catch up on all the recent posts before I made one myself but there are so many that I'm having a hard time ! Rather than keep giving myself excuses I figured I'd help give the guys a voice on here =) I never seem to get into posting updates on facebook but I love reading the blog so writing something shouldn't be too bad. Bit of a strange breakfast this morning, carrot soup, jerky from my dad, a bowl of cheerios, and advent chocolate. The Boston winter has been pretty good so far, no snow that has stuck to the ground and Sunday nothing is suppose to stick either. My civic has taken a couple extra seconds to start but only a couple times and that's my judge for when it gets really cold.

Glad to hear your treatment went well Trish althought that's no good to hear about the toothache.

Make sure to heckle me if you don't hear again from me in a while.

I am so sorry to hear about Sally's grand daughter, that is so sad, leaving two little one's without a mother, I will be praying , that God will be with her and her family.and I will send her a card.
Sally just called to tell me that her granddaughter had died today of an anuerysm. She was 27, has a son, age 7 and a daughter age 2. She lives in Louisana so Sally will have to go there for her services. She asked that I have my family to pray for them and especially her children. Sally also commented on Mommy's service and what a Tribute it was to her. She said she had told everyone that she had never been to a funeral like that. She said you could tell we were celebrating her life.
If you would like to send Sally a card, her address is:
Sally Berry
5123 Meadow Bridge Rd
Danese WV 25831
Oh Addy, I forgot to tell you that the picture of your bread gave me a hankerin' for some myself. So, Wednesday I fixed some pull-apart bread with carrots, potatoes and stew meat. It was yummy :)
Teresa, those plans sound good to me. I had forgotten about 'white elephant' this year. Hadn't heard anyone mention it yet and haven't played it. Thanks Teresa, you brightened my day :) It seems a little warmer today so all the snow is melting. When Landon's mom and dad were on the way to the hospital yesterday, around noon, they had to drive in the snow/sleet on interstate. She said the tractor trailers were passing them and then would get right over in front of them throwing all the snow and slush onto their vehicle. She was a nervous wreck by the time they got to the hospital, I think she was ready to have the baby in the car lol!! There was a 5 vehicle accident on the interstate bridge in Radford shortly after they got to the hospital. She said they brought 2 people into the trauma unit from it. They had to shut the north bound lane of 81 down which caused a 10 mile back up for some time. It was all cleared up by the time we went to see her last night around 6:30. It was a mess yesterday but it was so pretty coming down. When I brought Marleigh down stairs yesterday morning and opened the blinds to the living room window her eyes got SO big!! She started whispering her baby talk, not sure what she was saying but she liked it.
Saturday noon sounds good to me. If Dan ends up having to work on Friday because the banks are staying open, if the weather permits, we can get up early and still get there in time on Saturday morning.
Oh and Saturday noon sounds good to me!
Well if you run out of busy stuff to do there Teresa, MY house just screams BUSY!  as soon as you open the door!
By the way Trish the dinner plan ended up being spaghetti and garlic toast. The plans for getting together and homemade pizza sounds good, thanks for the offer. We will also have to get together up here some too. I'll have Steve cook something for you guys one night ha/ha.

Memorial Bibles for Mom

We are up to 44 bibles and counting
Trish I thought that my kids were coming in for Christmas, but Andy and Kim are waiting until New Years and then when Kelsey found out she decided that she would just wait until New Year also. I think she is going to spend Christmas with her new boyfriend and his family. She is also going to bring her new boyfriend in New Years Eve when we are going to have our Christmas Dinner, but he is a musician and he has a "gig" on Saturday night so they may have to leave Saturday morning, which also means that she will not be able to be here for the Treadway get together. Needless to say I am pretty bummed about the hole holiday season this year. As for Christmas it will just be me, Steve, and my mother. I think we are just going to have something simple like a roast or chili. I had big plans for this holiday season since it is the first away from the kids but nothing is panning out. Thats why I have been doing busy work it keeps my mind off things. Teresa
Gud Murnin'  (Hillbilly for Good Morning)-thats for you Michelle!  lol  And anyone else out there reading that doesn't know hillbilly talk.
We have so much snow that I quit lookin and quit carin.  They can't keep the main roads clear, even the interstate.  On the local news yesterday at 6, they interviewed all these truckers stranded that had jack knifed.  There were 5 just between Sandstone exit and Dawson exit!  Of course there has been no school all week so the kids are loving that!  They were supposed to have semester exams next week but I guess that won't happen.  Addy what do you guys do about that.  I am hoping they get study guides on Monday and Tuesday so they can study over Christmas break.  This will be Jacobs very first Semester exam-and trust me he is going to need all the help he can get.
Teresa as frustrating as the toilet paper was, I was laughing too by the time I got finished.  By the way, If you have a little piece of that yellow "wall Paper"  I would like a little piece.  Doesn't matter the size.
So what happened with your dinner plans?  Did you go out? LOL  I am guessing it was an eat in night?  We will have to make plans once the roads clear.  You guys can come over,  we have lots and lots and lots of BEEF! lol and I can make a mean homemade pizza.
So what are you guys going to do for Christmas?  I would invite you here but we won't be here.  We are going to get up early and head to Athens.  Plan on staying all day and cooking and eating and cooking and eating and cooking and eating! oh and opening presents I guess if we have too!
By the way if  any of you don't have plans for Christmas Eve, we have a candlelight service at Meadow Grove at 6.  It is my favorite of the whole year.  We have communion, scripture  and songs. It doesn't last long 30 min. to an hour.  It is such a nice reflective quiet service...so if you don't have anywhere to go, try and come.
I got a toothache last night!  Haven't had one of those since I was a kid.  I have a feeling the chemo is responsible.  And now I am not sure what or if I can do about it.  Of course my dentist is closed today and I am waiting on my doc to call me.  So another hurry up and wait!
Rita you were talking about a ZIP line.  I just happened to see where there was an accident at one of Oprahs shows with a ZIP line and then I saw another incident where someone lost their hand in another accident!  I think I will take my chances on the roads! ha ha
Well Miss Emma is here to keep me company today and I have lots planned.  We are going to paint some christmas ornaments and of course dance and play drums.  If it wasn't for her I don't think I would get any exercise, except when Clara comes for a visit!
y'all stay warm and safe,
Hey all!!!! I was wanting to know what everyone thought about getting together at noon on
saturday(New Years Day), everyone bring finger foods so we can keep it simple and the ladies can stay out of the kitchen. Make sure you bring your white elephant gift. We discussed doing the gift exchange in age groups so the little ones will get gifts appropriate for them. Everyone come dressed for church that night at 7:00 or bring your cloths and change here and we can all leave from the house here for church. Thats my idea but if anyone has any input put it on the blog.

Teresa
Janet that is my all time favorite funeral song for those dying and we know where they are! I sang it for a lady named Janice who passed in our church. I had to run for tissues!
Yes Vonda we got about 5" I guess. Got out and shoveled some. Played with Landon some in it. Or he has a little brother (Lakin) as of yesterday evening as well! We are so happy for his little family. All is well with them. Marleigh comes back to stay with us today. She is learning the word "no" at the Christmas tree! I just hate to see her cry!
NEWS ALERT: If anyone needs a perm, contact Timmy. I love the perm he gave me yesterday. Yeah, I'm brave

Timmy is relaxing, waiting out the 3" of ice we have up in Floyd County.
Vonda, Most of the ice went north of us. We had some sleet and rain. Thank the Lord because 2 years ago we got enough to do us for some time. We were without power for 5 days due to ice.

Love and Prayers

After I posted, I realized that "butt" was mild compared to the other things that are being said on the blog.  Haha
"AAAHHHHHH- You said a bad word 'bout butt!"
Man, you guys have been blogging fools today! After I posted this morning, I had to go back to the older posts to catch up! But I'm loving reading about everything!

Mom wanted me to share a little piece of history you might find interesting! She got a pretty good laugh when I told her. I think Vonda had made the comment a couple days ago about it being colder than "boobs on a brass monkey." Well, I hadn't heard that one, but I had heard "colder than balls on a brass monkey" and the phrase actually has some history. Back in the day when people would fight battles/wars by ships, they had big, brass squares that would sit on the ship deck. This was called a "monkey." The monkey had indentations in it where lead cannon balls would fit perfectly. Once crew members lined the bottom of the monkey, they could stack the cannon balls pyramid-style. The only problem was that when the weather got cold, the brass would contract and the indentations in the monkey would shrink. So, all the balls would roll off the brass monkey onto the deck of the ship. And that's where the saying comes from. It's kind of interesting to know useless information like that. So it doesn't matter how cold your balls get, just keep your brass warm and they'll stay put! (No pun intended, well...maybe a little)

I'm not sure about "colder than a witch's tit," I'm still researching that one. I will get back to you though!
Steve made it in not to long ago I was getting a little worried but then he came walking through the door. He said that there is about a foot of snow and that the snow plows only went as far as JR Lances house(the junk yard guy). He said that it took him 5 tries to get up the hill where the really sharp kiss your b--- turn is. Im trying to watch my language I had forgotten what a potty mouth I was. It is a wonder Janet even lets him come around me anymore.

I hope everyone that had to go to work this morning made it home safely. I thank God that my man made it home ok. Teresa
I think I'll take your first suggestion and install a Zip line!

You're right Teresa, Steve ought to know better!

I went out to get a haircut this morning and when I left, there was only about 6-8 inches in the road, sooo I thought that was a piece of cake...I could go in 10 inches...no problem...it wasn't blowing, so I wasn't worried!! Well, I wish Julie had been with me coming back in...now that was a trip. There had to be at least a foot of snow in the road...and by the time I would get to the top of a hill, I was spinning all 4's. It was wet snow and hard to steer. Blain made it in this evening but he is hoping the plow comes through, at least one way tonight.

Still haven't gotten my tree up, I guess you can have Christmas without one, right? Can you believe Blain came upstairs and said I had the house too warm? Never thought I'd hear that from Mr. I like the house around 80 all the time.
Teresa, sorry girl, about the brown stuff, but if I was there I would help you take it off, never did like it.but I am sure you'll do fine, LOL great to hear of all the donations in Mom and Dad's memory, that is so wonderful and all those bibles too.
Michelle I don't think I want to live in Germany , thats way too much snow for me ,and your poor little dog,I have two little poms and they love to play in the snow , but I don't think they would like that. You will have to take some pictures of it, and post them on the blog with the girls.Bobbie are you guys getting the snow that Rita and Trish are getting? We got the cold ,but not too much snow.
Daniel , are you all getting any of that Ice storm thats in the area around you ? That is some nasty stuff , We were watching it on the news this morning.Everyone be careful if you have to go out.
Rita need's to install a ski lift at the top of her mountain, right Julie?lol
Sorry Kaiden. Rita can you believe that Steve just called to say that he was leaving work and asked me what supper plans were. That is just to funny. You would think after 20 plus years he would know by now I have no supper plans.

I have one for all you out there my grandpa used to say that it was colder than a witches tit and Rita said that Blain grandpa used to say the same thing. I would just like to know how cold that is. Could someone out there enlighten me as to how cold that is, although some of the kids that I used to work with would probably say that I should know. I was called that enough or was that the "B" word that I wont say because Kaiden would probably get on to me for that one too.

Teresa

"Wish you were here", by the Kingsmen

Teresa~That's a bad word! If Kaiden could read, he'd tell ya!!
Forgot one last thing Vonda I have four words for that brown nasty smelling stuff, pain in my butt. Am I allowed to say that on here ha/ha I could have said a lot worse at least I,m thinking a lot worse right know. Gotta go bye Teresa
I cant believe that nobody is blogging today. What is everyone up to? I just took a break from my busy work to check the blog but nothing new was there. I am trying to pry off the lanoleum or what ever it is that is on these walls and then scraping the backing that is left of with a little screwdriver/prying tool thing a ma-jigger. I know to everyone out there your thinking that sounds like fun right, so if your not busy come on up and I'll give you a thing a ma-jigger too. (not sure about that last word combo there but you get my point)

Trish I wanted to tell you without hurting your feelings that yes I was chuckling to myself as you were describing your bathroom experience, sorry. I hope you are doing better today.

Well I guess I better get back to scraping walls. Teresa
