Tailgaters!

Colin has decided that he LOVES to tailgate!
Posted by Picasa
Well if you haven't heard by now, Tanners team won today! 21 15! We were behind but there was a couple times that we got pretty nervous! We went to eat with emily and zac and some of her friends from college that came to the game and got to meet one of the families that had a kid playing too. They were so nice, they sounded a lot like some of the folks around here. Real down to earth! We are headed to Magnolia probably on Friday. We get to pick the day and time since we are traveling but thats what the boys want to do, they like playing at night cause thats what they are used to! The stadium was packed on our side and boy did we make some noise! We tailgated for a couple hours before the game. It was such a beautiful day for a game!
I had dinner with Steve and Teresa last night and they told me Mrs. Treadway had gotten worse. I was just wondering how things are going today and if there's anything at all that I can do to help you. Please know I will be praying for you all. Lots of love, Judy (I hope this gets to you. I've never used this blog before).

This is a post from Teresa's aunt Judy Leo. She left it on my facebook page after reading the blog>

I am glad to hear that grandma has been doing better the last couple of days.  She is probably looking forward to some turkey and stuffing for Thanksgiving.  We won't be making it in for Thanksgiving.  That is Greg's one holiday that he gets to spend with his family - I guess I can give him one, right?  After Thanksgiving we are going to go up to Vonda's to visit for a day and then to my dad's sister Jerri's who lives about an hour from Vonda.  Then the following weekend we are headed to Jamaica for a friend's wedding - sans kiddos!  It should be wonderful!  My maternity leave is rapidly coming to an end so I am trying to take advantage of the days I have left.  I am so grateful to have had 6 months at home with each of my kids though - it has been a wonderful experience that I wouldn't trade for anything.  I hope no one else catches that stomach bug.  We all had it a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't fun!  I hope everyone has a great day.  We will be tuning in to listen to Tanner's football game!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Julie has gall bladder surgery yesterday and all went well. She is resting at home today and I will stay with her tomorrow to make sureshe rests when she is supposed to. May even stay home on Monday if she needs me. Addy we are praying your surgery goes well next week. I love you Mommy and pray that you have a good day. Eat well and take your meds.
Well its game day for Tanner and the Cavaliers! If anyone wants to listen it is on the web at:

Just a reminder that if you cannnot make it to Greenbrier East Stadium today for the GWHS playoff game today that it will be online at http://www.hearthealthyradio.com/ or WRLB 95.3 FM locally

Listen in and give a cheer!

Mom and Dad- Have fun in TN:)  Enjoy and rest!  Mom~ beofre you go, I need the recipe for your Sweet potato casserole.  If you have to, call and leave a message.  Love ya
Marleigh took off crawling yesterday at her Grandparents house!! She also pulled herself up to the recliner and stood up :) She still has just one tooth but we're waiting any day for another one. Grandma, we're glad to hear that you've had a good past few days. Keep up the good work of eating. Rita, you and Blain have a wonderful time in Tennessee. I'm thinking the Christmas lights may already be up down there. I've seen them once, they are pretty. Addy, did I hear you are having surgery on the 23rd? I'll be praying for you, Paul and the kids. I know they will miss you while your gone :p I hope everyone is feeling better at the Hutsenpillar household. It's no fun to be sick on the holidays or any other day for that matter.
Mommy, I am so glad you ate a good breakfast, and took your meds. great.and glad you are looking forward to your company for Thanksgiving, sure wish I could be there but I'll be there in Spirit with every one. Love you Mommy, and you make them girls behave , ok

That is wonderful! I think you are right and she picked up on your discussing Thanksgiving and who is coming and what we are going to eat! She always did get excited about any holiday and started the planning and calling as soon as she dared!
Mommy had Oatmeal with Ensure for breakfast and she took her meds. She is watching Barney and Andy now. Her BP is 146/76 so she is doing good this am. Feeding her takes quite awhile because you have to help her swallow and wash it down with water or warm tea but she will swallow.
Mommy slept good last night and she did take her meds last night. Hoping today will be much improved.

The best time to get a urine is 3 days after an antibiotic. When on a prophylactic antibiotic you still check the urine because sometimes the urine becomes resistant to the drugs. Or it overgrows the small dose and you have to bump it up. But if mommy isn't taking her meds then she isn't getting enough to prevent a uti just enough to probably grow a resistance.
And as for hospice I have never used them so I am not sure what they do or don't do. But I will call tomorrow and talk with them and find out:). Sounds like mommy knows thanksgiving is coming and she is ready for company! Just wish we all could get over our bugs so we could go visit. Rita tell mommy we love her and hope to get up to visit when we are all well.
Evenin'
Mommy has had a good day today. She ate a whole bowl of grits for breakfast, Lima Beans for lunch and a piece of cake that Mary brought for supper. Addy told Mommy that it just wasn't fair b/c she never got to eat cake for supper. We haven't tried the meds yet, we just gave her a shower...we'll see about the meds in a minute. Right now I need a rest and I need to "check the weather".
Georgie and Mary came up today and we all had a nice visit. They had lunch (chili and cornbread) with Teresa, Kaiden and myself. Sally will be here in the morning and I know she will be glad to hear that Mommy had a good day today. The HH nurse took blood today but would not do the urine until next week. She said that since she just finished her antibiotic that we wouldn't get an accurate reading. I told her that she is on a lower dose for prevention and asked her how she could get an accurate reading next week when she will still be on it, but she never did give me an answer. Trish, can you shed some light on that? Also, I told her we wanted hospice to take over and she said that she and Kim talked about it and that Hospice couldn't do anything that they weren't already doing! Trish, can you shed some light on that too? Going to go try the meds now. Let you know how that goes in the am.

Hey, Rita! I don't know what that means, either :)
Yes, it is cold and very drizzly. But no snow yet. Last year it started snowing on Oct. 18th. And didn't stop until May. We are as high up as Winnipeg, Manatoba, Canada.
When Joe comes home next summer, we are supposed to move over toward the French border for two years, then maybe go to Italy for two years (about 45 minutes from Venice). Then we have to go to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas so he can go to a school for Majors. After that, we don't know!!
Glad to hear Grandma is doing better. And yes, you definately need to go to Tennessee on vacation. Enjoy!! And Happy Turkey Day!
Good Morning~
It's always a good day when Mommy gets up feeling her oats and eating them too! Well, Actually it was grits....a whole bowl. She spit out her meds, but we are going to try them later. I think we will get them down her. She woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed. We did her exercises in bed and I was raising the bed up to sit her up, and Kaiden was sitting at the bottom. When the head of the bed comes up, the bottom makes a big gap. Kaiden started falling down in the crack and she really thought that was funny. Kiaden got up in bed with her and they had to hug and kiss awhile. It was precious. She leaned over and kissed him and reached out and took ahold of his leg. She has been watching Funniest Home Videos this morning. I hear them in there laughing their heads off.
Trish says we can get Hospice, that it is not the Drs. decision and if it is, we will just change Drs.
Blain and I were going to cancel our trip to Tennessee but we are going to go ahead and go. She always perks up when family comes in so if she's going to eat, she will probably eat better with more family around. She was having so much fun last night at bedtime, I hated to put her in bed. Addy was here entertaining Mommy and they were having a ball. Mommy was sitting on the potty, Addy was dancing for her and she was crackin' up.
Michelle, it is good to hear from you. Where will you go when Joe is finished over there? I bet it's colder than a witches tit over there! I don't know what the heck it means...Blain's grandpa Martin use to say it all the time :)

Praying in MI

Rita we are praying for you and grandma. Trust in the Lord now and not the Drs. God has always taken care of Grandma and knows her needs. We will continue to pray for rest, peace, memories and much more laughter. We love you all and thank you for keeping us up on Grandma every day.
Hello, everyone. Grandma, we love you so very much. Rita, so sorry about Grandma's Dr. not approving Hospice. We are praying for your strength and endurance. Trish, sorry to hear you all are sick, but great about all the football. Much love to all, hope you are all well. Only a few months until we get to see Joe for a visit, so our Christmas will be delayed. The girls are getting so excited. Then he goes back to finish up over there. I hope Thanksgiving is truly a day to be thankful for all the Treadways everywhere!!

The Greenbrier Still Comes Up Short

Greenbrier denied fifth star; Justice recommits

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — Despite investing well over $100 million since purchasing The Greenbrier some 18 months ago, owner Jim Justice got some disheartening news Tuesday when the folks at Forbes Travel Guide, formerly the Mobil Travel Guide, released their annual ratings and denied the facility the coveted fifth star that he has committed to recapturing from the day he took over the resort in May 2009.

"It breaks my heart to tell you the truth," Justice told The Register-Herald. "I hate it for the people."

Tuesday's news means the 10 percent bonus Justice offered to the resort's employees, if the fifth star was awarded, will be on hold for at least another year.

"Honest to Pete, we have great employees that have worked so hard —with passion, dedication and love. They've given it their best and this news is really hard for them, it's hard for me," Justice stated. "We've spent untold millions on training, retraining and education. We just didn't get there.

"But what's the alternative? We'll shed a few tears then we're going to dust ourselves off, strap on our boots and go back to work."

Since 2000 The Greenbrier has been given four stars by the travel guide after years of being listed as a five-star destination. Forbes is widely considered to be the gold standard rating service for the world's elite hotels, spas and restaurants.

Spa facilities at The Greenbrier also earned four stars this year while no restaurants at the facility earned a four or five star rating.

"It's a little tough to understand it but I can tell you we have received thousands of letters from people, many who have traveled all over the world, who have told us it's the best stay they have ever had," Justice remarked. "I was just telling Cathy (his wife) that it is just phenomenal the response we have received. Gift after gift has been left for me; expensive ones, from people thanking us for the wonderful experience.

"Many people said they were here 10 years ago, some said they were here three years ago and that it's so different now. We get a thousand good letters for every one bad one. It's humbling and it gives me a very, very prideful feeling. We've really done well here in the last 18 months and this transcends way beyond me. That's why it just wasn't a good day, receiving this news."

Justice said it would be easy to accept the results of the Forbes report but he won't quit and settle for second best.

"West Virginia has been given the short stick so many times and I want to achieve greatness for our great state," he stated. "I can't rest and I know our employees won't rest until we get there. As long as the good Lord gives me breath we're going to keep pushing and keep slugging.

"We're going to step back, evaluate where we fell short and do what it takes to show the world we're No.1 here in West Virginia."

I just heard from Mommy's Dr. and she doesn't think that Hospice is "Necessary". I told her that I disagree with her so...we'll see, I guess. She said that Home Health could "handle it". Drs. really piss me off. Sally got Mommy to drink a cup of Ensure and Addy has been giving her water all evening. She did void again.
We are going to have home health get a urine and some blood work today and then try and switch agencies to Hospice for Mommy, Rita thinks they will be a lot of help.

Mornin'~
We got no meds down Mommy this morning. I crushed her meds and put them in pureed banana and yogurt...she spit them all out. Wouldn't swallow the first time. During the night, when I would turn her, I gave her water too. The first, I had to pipe in with a straw and the second, she held and took a couple of big drinks herself.
Day before yesterday, she held her cup and drank the ensure pretty good, with assistance. Yesterday, it was a struggle to get the first cup down, but she DID swallow the liquid. In the evening, Sally was 2 hours getting about 6 oz. of Ensure down her. This morning, she won't even swallow it. She holds it in her mouth until it runs back out. She doesn't even want to swallow the water. She only swallows it if we hold her head back and she swallows by reflex. She is still getting up to the potty but is getting weaker everyday.
Good Morning all,
Rita, how much Ensure do you think Mommy is drinking? I know from working at the Nursing Home that people can actually live off that stuff without ever eating a bite. As long as she drinks enough, but I know that is hard to get her to even drink too. Is she still throwing up too?
Danny has the stomach virus, has had diarrea since Saturday and yesterday he started vomiting. Had to come home from work early and last night he started running a fever and has been aching all over. Sounds like the flu but he did get a flu shot. Jacob had the diarrhea and vomiting yesterday. Me and Tanner haven't caught it "yet"!
Tanner was on the news yesterday for student athlete of the week! It was a very nice interview and as soon as the website publishes it I will post a link.
We are in store for a rainy Tuesday but the temperatures are nice or at least not freezing.
West advances to the 2nd round playoff game on Saturday at 1:30. They play at Greenbrier East and play Frankfort High School. They are located in the northern panhandle. We are super excited! Meadow Bridge is also in the playoffs only single A. They play their 2nd game on Saturday as well.
Hope everyone has a good day and stay "bug"free!

Good Afternoon All
Just to update you on Mommy, She is only drinking Ensure now. She won't take any food even when I puree it into liquid. I cooked her some Big Lima Beans and made soup out of them, put them in a cup and she drank the first drink and then spit it out after that. We got her meds down her this morning but it was a challenge. We wouldn't give her any of them except that she really needs her laxatives for obvious reasons and her antibiotic for her UTI. If she doesn't get rid of that, the infection can make her deathly sick and be very painful. We are giving her as much liquid as she will take. She is sleeping more but still laughing. Kaiden was telling us a story about his mama and papa (Sims) having a conversation about one of them being constipated and I thought Mommy would bust a gut. She thought it was so funny. But of course, she could've been laughing at Teresa laughing. :)
