Here is a couple pics from the other weekend with David and his family.

We finally got to have the baby shower yesterday evening!! We had a great time. Of course there is still snow everywhere but the roads are in good shape most everywhere now, not so sure about driveways though. We did the "measure my belly" game again and I have grown 3 inches since New Years. You'll have to let papaw know I'm now 53 1/2 (lol). I got a little emotional reading mom and dad's card and those are the teddy bears they got for Marleigh. I went to the dr yesterday morning and he said that Marleigh is measuring a little big and she hasn't moved down any. I have 3 weeks to go yet. They are going to do an ultrasound on the 23rd when I go back to the dr and he said if she appears to be big and still hasn't moved down any we may be looking at a c-section. He said that girls tend to take after their mothers weight and I told him I weighed 7 1/2 lbs when I was born. Mark on the other hand weighed 9.11 lbs. He thinks she may be taking after her father :( I will let you know what we find out on that day. I've enjoyed all the pics and it sounds like grandma and grandpa are having quite a bit of company this weekend, how wonderful. Everyone be careful on the way back home and in all your travels :)

Would have loved to come up for lunch. I think I have lost touch with civilization and became a hermit over these last several weeks.
Don't you know, it is always the nurses fault!!
WOW, those are some BIG Ice sicles, Lunch sounds real good.
There ISN'T pain meds in his box! We have to give it to him every 4-6 hours. Steve you have to take it to him and remember when it is due because he won't take it himself. Although if he is up pilfering in his box and complaining about it, thats a good sign, right. The more he complains the better he feels.
Love the pictures TMFI64! Lunch sounds good too. We will be up after I go to the grocery store, probably after Danny gets in maybe.

Here is a couple of pics from this morning.
Fixin' lunch if anybody wants some. Potato soup, cornbread, and chicken with gravy.

Teresa said Daddy was changing his medecine this morning because somebody wasn't putting the right pain meds. in his box and what was in there wasn't working? Trish, Rita?

The snow is actually melting off the road and it looks like it might clear up. Later, TMFI64.
Mark doesn't think there's anything to rethink about TMFI64:

Teresa Made Fudge In '64

What's wrong with that? lol

Mark had said he thought parking would be limited up on the hill at Grandpa's, judging from the pics yesterday looks like he's right. It appears that Gracie and Bandit are getting just as board with the snow as the humans are :)

This may not be very visible because the fence is white, but that is a 4-Rail fence. Blain worked for 3 hrs. yesterday evening to clear the driveway and shovel a path into the basement.

Who would have ever thought we would someday be Bloggin' at Grandmas! Pretty cool says I. I got that stuck in my head from reading Moby Dick a couple months ago. Every sentence was ended by (Says I). Any way, Mom and Dad are doing pretty good this morning, we had biscuits with oats and bacon. Mom ate good, dad just had some hot chocolate and nabs. He seems to be doing pretty good. He wanted the light changed over his recliner. He told me twice where they were but I couldn't fine them. He finally got up and got them himself. He isn't sure if he is getting his gout medecine. He's checking the pill boxes now? I'll chime in later, see ya.

Steve~Would you water the plants in the living room. I forgot to. The big one by the window and the little lily on the table where you come in the door. Also, That big brown box in the living room has the wedding dress in it, Teresa. Oh, and I forgot to feed the birds. The seed is in the buckets behind the kitchen door. I'm glad Daddy felt like shaving. See what Company does for them. They get bored with just me there
You wouldn't believe how much better grandpa looks this evening! He shaved changed his shirt and ate some ice cream! Steve and teresa made it at 630.

Clara

I called Dr. Anderson and she is supposed to call me back when she gets there.
I helped Daddy up about 8:30. I went to check on him and he was awake. I told him I wanted to help him up and he said he could get up by himself. I told him that Mommy said he fell in the bathroom and he said he just went to get up off the commode and he just fell forward and was took weak to catch himself. I told him that was why I wanted to walk with him. He was real unsteady on his feet and I thought a walker would have been just the thing he needed. BUT he said he didn't need it and held on to furniture along the way. I talked to Trish this am and we decided to go back to the Lortab for now. He was sitting up, sometimes all day, and seemed to be comfortable, when he was on that. We may have to go back to the Percocet, and if we do, we'll have it...in case there's a snow storm. Daddy told me this morning, that he's had just about all he can take! He looks bad, I think. For now, he is sitting with Mommy on the couch watching the Weather Channel.
Mommy and I have been up since 5. She said that Daddy had gotten up sometime during the night and went to the bathroom. He had been gone longer than she thought "was right", so she went to look for him and found him sitting in the bathroom floor leaning against the wall. He told her that he just couldn't get up. She wanted to come and get me, but he wouldn't let her. She said she didn't want to "contrary" him. So she helped him get to his knees and he crawled back to the bedroom. I don't guess the thought ever crossed his mind to push the button. Oh, that's right, he takes it off at night. It may be time to move the bed into the living room and leave room for a potty chair on both sides. Trish,I don't know if that Magnesium Citrate worked him last night. Mommy said that HE said no. I'll ask him. I will keep checking to see if he is ready to get up, so he won't try himself. I don't know if he got sick, trying to have a bowel movement, may be the new pain meds, or is just getting too weak. Trish, do we need to call Jenny about this? Before he went to bed he ate a half of peanut butter sandwich, some dill pickles, and a bite of cake. Mommy is sitting here in the rocking chair and we are waiting for Vonda to get on so we can talk on IM. Trish, I know you'll call when you get up so maybe we can figure out something after talking to him. We'll keep you all posted.

Trish, Ruth: If either of you want to bring what you have in the line of a computer, we'll see what we can do to make it work. I shouldn't need to be anything special, as long as it isn't a dinosaur!
Well you are right Rita, go to bed with the chickens and get up with the roosters lol, but then we may be like that when we get that age. I am almost there now ha!I feel like it some times anyway.
Are you all still getting snow? It has stop ed here , but they say the wind will be our next culprit, so I just hope it don't get too bad.So when I wake up in the morning around 5 I'll be thinking of you having coffee .up with the roosters.
Well, Mommy fought it as long as she could. We were sitting in the LR, I was reading the paper and they were watching TV and Mommy looked at Daddy and said," Are you ready to go to bed cause I am?" He said "I guess I can if you're ready" So off they went. She'll probably wake me up at 4:30 in the morning, but I wake up at 4 anyway. I might surprise her and have the coffee made and her tea ready.
Steve if we just had a hard drive I think we could use the tv in the living room as the monitor. Then they could see it really good! With a wireless keyboard u would be all set. I have a wireless modem and hard drive but the hard drive is really old. Not sure it would work so good. But you are welcome to try it
The Presto Email has been disconnected, making way for Email. It will be connected next Tuesday if nothing happens. You could send it to my email and I could show Mommy but not Daddy, b/c I don't have a signal in the old living room where he sits. He isn't feeling so good today. He didn't eat any lunch but ate some warm coconut pudding. I read the blog to Mommy and show her the pics.
Steve~ Tanner, Jacob, and I have searched the basement over for your hiding place. It must not be in the basement. Jacob said maybe outside. I told him that you couldn't hide your RC outside b/c it would freeze.
Steve, it is possible that we may have an extra PC since we have less employees due to our inability to buy new product. Does it have to have anything special?
Hey Rita, I sent them an e-mail this morning but I had some trouble getting it to send...did they ever get it?
That's too funny, but yes, you definitely need to personalize! Oh, that's right, no body would know you anyway. Trish pointed out that those letters could be, somewhat, misconstrued. Better rethink that.
Hey Mom and Dad. Just wanted to say hello and see how you liked lookin' at Rita's computer. Lord willin' I'll see you Thursday evening if we don't get another blizzard. See you then, Love, Steve. (aka TMFI64) I think I'll get that as my personal license plate. What do you think Rita?

p.s. I'll try to remember my computer also. We may have to bring a spare PC up there. Anybody got one?

That's ok Trish, I've got some lazy hounds too!

It's looking like another week of exercise, a.k.a. shoveling. What? You didn't think I was exercising voluntarily did you?

Steve, if you want to be memorable your best bet is to take fresh popcorn when you go! It works for me!

When I was in New Hampshire, Larissa and on of the other interns went to see the Celtic Women in Boston and LOVED it. I've seen the videos, they are very entertaining.

Talk to y'all later.
yea, Trish too lazy hounds LOL

Gracie watching tv

2 hounds!

Trish~ I like the new background too! We may have to do some adjusting to Sunday night b/c I didn't know that mom wasn't going to be there on Monday. I'll have to figure out where the kids are going to be- I think Ila will have them that day. We'll see as time gets closer and we have a better idea of what the weather will be like.
Hi grandma! If this snow ever quits, we'll come to visit. Get the popcorn and peanuts ready. We Love you! Livvy & Kaiden
Rita , that is just too funny, Mom looks like she is having the time of her life, She looks like Maxie ,sitting there with your laptop, If you are not careful you are going to be minus a computer Lol,Mommy will take over.
How much snow do you all have ? we have about 10in. Shawn blowed the snow last night , so I am going to get the rest this morning.I hope it's done but they say now it will be the wind blowing.
Mommy , you are supposed to laugh as hard as you can for 15min. a day, they say it's good for your heart, better than exercise. so now your job is to get Daddy to laugh with you ok. and that will be your exercise for the day. catch you later.
Mommy and Daddy ate boiled eggs, bacon, and raisin bread for breakfast, and Tomato juice. They eat pretty good if you put them on the couch in the living room. Mommy just won't give up til Daddy eats his share. She comes by and looks at the blog every time she comes in the kitchen. I have the comp sitting on the counter, SO ya'll send her some pics. She can't read it but she can look at the pics. Or send them some on their email. It's been quiet all week!! Just drop them a line. Yesterday they stayed up all day, no naps. Pay them a visit today!

Grandma Bloggin'. Now you know why she gets up so early. She's addicted!!

Mornin' from Mommy and Me! Last night when they went to bed (yesterday evening, I should say) I told Mommy if she woke up early to come to the top of the stairs and holler for me and I would get up with her. Sure enough, at 4:30, I heard, "Rita, are you up'" and I was. I woke up at 4:00 and was just thinking about coming up and making coffee. We came upstairs and had our coffee and tea and raisin bread. She went to the door, to open it and look out at the snow, but looked up, and asked me if she could open the door! I had already turned off the alarms, so she opened the door several times to look out at the snow. I think Daddy has slept 12 hrs. I put his pain meds beside the bed so he could take them and not have to come to the kitchen to get them.
Yeah Steve, Where are the chips and RC. We bought you 64 oz. of Picante Sauce and I had some last night and it lit me up. You don't have to worry about ME eating all your stuff. I had to open the Tums beside the bed.
And Bobbie, There's chicken legs, already individually frozen, so I guess you'll have to cook it since Mommy associates you and chicken legs, like she does the man from 64 and breakfast. Sorry Steve!
Trish, Me and Mommy love the wallpaper on the blog. I read some of it to her and she thought it was funny that Steve thought we took his RC. I told her I was gonna tell everybody that she goes to bed with the chickens but gets up with the roosters.
She's already wondering about whose coming when, and if we have enough food in the house, and if the beds are all clean downstairs...
Don't feel bad Steve, she just asked me if Trish's man had to get out in this weather and go to work.

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

We wondered if you drank it all! We bought you another 12 pack! We bought you more chips and salsa too! Did you hide that also? LOL
Janet, you know that your Mom isn't coming on MOnday? She is staying at home. Blain is off that day. So I will be up there by 630 then. My kids don't have school that day! ISE day, LOL That is also Jacobs birthday!
By the way, who found my secret stash of RC cola! I hid that for next week!!!! :)
Bobby: Don't be in any hurry Saturday morning. I'm not on any kind of schedule. Teresa will be with me and we are in no hurry. Signed, The Man from I-64. lol
Lord willing and the creek don't rise (yeah right), I'll stay Sunday night. I am not sure what time I'll be up yet because we will be out of town until that evening. I'll lel you know Trish. Feel free to call while I am there because as grandma has always told me..."You just call anytime. I'm always up talking to Jesus."..and I have too:) I will have to leave for work by 6:30 depending on the weather.
Mommy and Daddy have gone to bed (5:10)so don't call the house. Call my cell if you need to. They didn't nap at all today. I told them if they were sleepy to go on to bed and I would lock up. They just might sleep all night. Going to mop the big room and then head downstairs. Talk to ya tomorrow. Trish, I wouldn't worry about bringing up the meds tonight. I can come get them tomorrow.
Ruth, I don't think she will forget us when she see us, maybe just can't remember us when we are out of her sight, you know (out of sight out of mind) lol maybe not a bad thing, we will just keep her laughing, and happy and she can keep Daddy laughing too , with the funny things she does.
You will have to watch the dvd Ruth when you go to Mom's, it is really good . 1 1/2 hrs. long. good though.
I love the Celtic women. We watched them one evening on TV.

So Mommy didn't remember who the man was that Trish had to get on I-64? I certainly hope there doesn't come a time when she forgets WHO we are.
Glad Daddy hasn't lost any more weight, you know , Mommy is enjoying you all cooking for her and Dad, she don't have to worry about it and it's something new every day, It's like having a restaurant in you own house, lol only thing she cant order what she wants , just take what is fixed, a surprise everyday, cant get no better than that.
I hope you all know you are creating lots of memories now , that you wont ever forget, and it's filled with their humor and laughter, something that is priceless. just cherish it.
I mailed out the dvd, of the Celtic Women today for them , so you all be sure and watch it with them you'll like it,, you can go to Celtic women.com and see a preview of the dvd , don't know if you have heard of them or not, they are Irish. and good.
Bobbie did Monica get the box I sent her ? haven't heard from her , I sure hope she got it.
Well it's still snowing here too. so I am staying in. keep warm guys.
LOL! Yeah I buy the oatmeal cakes just like I fix Mommys hair all the time! She cracks me up! So much for HER hunger strike! Not sure she could make it even one day!
Jenny came! Daddy had started down the hill with the snow plow and Jenny started up the hill so when they met, Daddy backed up and quit, and Jenny had to back off the hill and try again. She made it and brought a trainee this time. Daddy's weight hasn't changed since last week, and he told her his appetite had improved!! He did come to the table today, I think he took Mommy's hunger strike serious!! I had Ruth's canned Pork Loin with gravy, mashed potatoes, and of course, the butter beans and Cornbread. Daddy ate a spoon of mashed potatoes, the bacon out of the beans (yuk), at least one piece and put the other piece in the pork and gravy. I fished it out after he got up from the table and fed it to the cats.
You wanna hear something funny? Trish and I bought groceries yesterday and Trish hasn't been up here since I brought them up and put them away. Trish suggested we buy them some oatmeal cakes so we did.
Conversation:
Me: Mommy, what are you having?
Mommy: Oh, I thought I would eat me an oatmeal cake that Trish brought me.
Me: How did you know Trish bought them?
Mommy: Oh, she brought them to me one day last week and said, "Mommy, I thought you and Daddy might like these and I told her Yes, they were one of our favorites." You want one?
Me: Yeah, I think I'll have one.
Mommy: You can have two if you want!

Yesterday, she wanted to know who that man was that stayed with them and Trish had to take him to get on 64. I didn't know what she was talking about and then it dawned on me, it was Steve. Trish followed him out Sat morning to make sure he made it to 64.
They're sitting on the couch drinking an RC Cola now.
"Now I'm gonna git while the gittins' good, follow my heart like I know I should, don't wanna miss a thing"! Is that why you are coming bright and early Bobbie? We are supposed to get more snow for the weekend guys. So Bobbie if for some reason you guys can't make it let me know and I will plan on going and staying the weekend. For some reason I can not sleep when I am there. The beds are comfortable enough but I just wake up and can't sleep. But as long as I can nap during the day I am good for the night. With the TV downstairs I can stay occupied. And I always have the hum of the furnace. I think what I am missing is my fan. I sleep with one at home and its hard not to do that after being used to it. I would like to have a bowl of those butter beans myself. We had Pizza and Corn for lunch. Those are two of Emmas favorite.
Love those butter beans and greens with corn bread! I can smell 'em down here in VA. It sure is beautiful down here! We got 2-3" more of snow this morning, that seems to be it for now.
Looks like we might have a "window" for a shower on Friday, Monica! Wow!
Steve, what time do you want to start home on Sat. morning? I can leave my house at 6:00a.m. and be there at 8. Will that be soon enough? It will be too late to come after we clean-up from the shower Friday night, but I'll be there bright and early Sat. morning.

Oh! Praise report here! Corey goes to work at Shelor's in about a week! Praise the Lord! Another answered prayer. When he's finished with school in the spring, he will be a permanent fixture there! Yeah! He is about a half a mile down the road from Adam!

"Mama pregnant," Rita, you are just too funny!!!! But what ever God wants to do, I don't want to miss out on any of it! "Don't want to miss the joy, don't want to miss the peace, don't want to miss the power, don't want to miss a thing" the Martins sing! Vonda, that could just be the ticket to get Mom laughin'!
Vonda~He told her that he eats his all day long in little bites where she eats hers all at one time. I don't think she bought it. This morning, he ate some graham crachers, hot chocolate and I just took him a banana. The butter beans are done and smellin' up the house. Mommy had a fried egg, some friendship bread that Janet had made and a cup of tea. They have taken their meds and are watching the Weather Channel. It showed Dayton Ohio, and I told Mommy that was where Carol lived and she said, "She's gettin' quite a bit of snow, ain't she?" They watch for Cleveland and know what Amy's gettin' and Boston, and know what Shane's gettin'.....etc. No snow much in Florida, they say!!! Daddy should be getting a stronger pain prescription today and the more he takes of that, more likely than not, he will eat less and less. We are just going to try to keep him comfortable and pain free. He and I sewed a mandolin strap yesterday and I told him he picked a poor one to do it. I told him sewing gave me a headache. He said If he couldn't see any better then I could, it would give him a headache too. I need light and he works in the dark!!! I could never read in the dark like he does. See Monica and Addy, He DOES have a keen eye. We are supposed to get wind with this storm, so I am preparing for the power outages they are predicting. I'm runnin' up water, washing clothes, Mommy has had her shower, cleaning pottys.....! I can get to the wood shed if we need to build a fire in the kitchen and I know how to operate that stove!!! Mommy said all she was worried about is that her kittys and Montana get fed. I had to reassure her that we had just bought them food at the store yesterday.
The snow has started here also, but we are only supposed to get 6 to 10 in.
The kids are hoping for a snow day.
Rita what did Daddy think when Mom told him she was going on a hungry strike , if he didn't eat?
Can you give him any thing to increase his appetite? I sure hope they can or he will waste away to nothing. keep us posted after the nurse comes , and you all stay warm.
The snow has been falling since early morning, the hill is covered. Mommy and Daddy are still in bed. Somebody was up at 6 so I came to see who it was, but they had already gotten back in bed. I think it was Daddy. I found his meds from last night, on the kitchen table. I took both of them their meds at 7 last night when I took Daddy his pain meds and some tomato soup, but I guess he didn't take his. I was afraid Mommy would get up and think they were hers, and take them. I put on a pot of Butter Beans with a big chunk of bacon, they should be done for lunch. The Home Health nurse, Jenny, is due today (the snow doesn't seem to deter her)so she will weigh Daddy. Yesterday, Mommy threatened Daddy with a hunger strike and she wasn't kiddin. She told him if he didn't start eating that she was going to quit! I tried to explain that it was the pain meds, but I don't know if she got it. Somebody's up, gonna go see who. I bet it's Mommy.

Monday, February 8, 2010

Steve after you left on Saturday I called the Home Health Nurse about Daddys increased pain and all they could suggest was to go to the ER since it was the weekend and its a narcotic. Unfortunately none of that stuff can be called in because it is a controlled substance. So what I suggested to her was for him to take 2 of the ones he was taking every 6 hours instead of 1 every 4 and she said that would work until we could get something stronger. He slept good on saturday night and felt good on sunday. Sunday night he went to bed around 730, slept til midnight, took his pain pills and went right back to sleep til 6 this morning and he said he felt really good this morning. He still isn't eating but at least he isn't hurting as bad. Tanner and Jacob stayed this afternoon while I went to the doctor and then Rita and I went to the grocery store. They watched The Fox and the Hound and Tanner said they both enjoyed that. Mommy even remembered the old lady had a foX!
I brought a new pressure switch for the spring house and Lonnie and I put in on. We also cranked up the pressure as high as it would go. It's as good as it gets without replacing the pump. Shouldn't have any more problems for a while.

Trish, Rita: Are you guys going to change Daddys pain meds?
Monica, did you receive the package I sent to you yet?

Monica~Matthew has on shorts:) I was up at 5am b/c I had a bellyache and it's not like I get enough peace any other time to post that many pics.
Obviously you're having a great weekend if you're getting up at 5 am to post on the blog!! Is Matthew sitting in his underoos or his shorts lol? I bet he appreciates you posting that :p We're getting ready to head out to town for a little while. They cancelled church for today so I guess we'll be gearing up for the Superbowl later this evening. GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! We have had a nice weekend just staying in. School was cancelled Thursday due to lack of water and then of course ice on Friday. We have enjoyed just being at home. I am posting some pics of the kids outside yesterday and Kaiden's Birthday.
