The information should be in the Beckley paper soon. She got sick suddenly and was coded twice and after that she was not responsive. Wasn life support for a few days but lived a few days after she was taken off. Someone told Mom she had high bp and congestive heart failure. I am not sure this is a correct because it was told to her by someone other than family. She has not talked to family yet. I know Blanche will miss her because she had never left her .

Trish, I love the changing looks of the Blog, Don't know how you find the time..It's a chore just for me to remember how to log in, (Yeah, I know). My senior moments are a lot more frequent...Ha! Ha! Had to reset my password, yet AGAIN this morning.
Wanted to let you guys know, We are holding you guys up in Prayer all the time, and Daniel and Alice and all the rest of you guys that request prayer. Cindy and I have been going to a Church, here in Floyd that I helped remodel several years ago. I started playing the organ again at the church, (A Hammond C-3) for those of you who might know what that is. I hadn't played it in a number of years, my bad, as the younger gereration says. Michelle, we love to here the news from across (the big Pond) as some of the older gereration would say. Love the pictures from all over. Monica, you really do have a special little angel there. I think she takes a lot after her Gramma, don't ya think? :) Miss all of you guys, With all our Love from the Mountains of the Blue Ridge, Timmy and Cindy

Happy Birthday, Bobbie and Michelle, wishing you guys many, many more!

Happy Birthday Bobbie and Michelle,Hope you have many many more...!
Dad I love and miss you , It doesn't seem like you have been gone 2 years, But you are forever in my heart,
Even though it has been 2 years since Grandpa went home, not a day goes by that there is not love and memories of him to keep my heart full. Miss you Grandpa.

Danny, I'm glad the vomiting has gone away!!  I'll keep praying for energy and appetite :P  Teresa, what time is Kim's shower going to be?  What time do we need to be there for the festivities to begin?  :)
Danny is feeling a little better today. No vomiting but no appetite either. Low grade fever, and extreme fatigue. Lab work is stable and he is tolerating the antibiotics ok. Thanks for all your prayers.

Happy Birthday to Bobbie and Michelle, a little late....sorry. What a beautiful day for you, on your birthdays! This is the day that the Lord hath made I will rejoice and be glad in it!!!!!
Looks like pneumonia in the l. lung.  He has vomited all the way to the ER and back.    Please remember him tonight in your prayers.
Happy Birthday Mom!!!!!! and Michelle!!!!! :)  Hope you both have had a wonderful, beautiful day.  It was already warm around 11 this morning.  Marleigh was able to go out in one of her summer outfits without a jacket :P  Trish, be sure to update us on Danny, I hate he's feeling bad :(  Those cupcakes look awesome.  Now I have to decide if I'm going to make those or the Cinnamon Roll cake.  If I make both this week it won't be good for mine or Mark's midsection lol!!!  We still have a little bit of Mar's b-day cake left and I'm all caked out.  Michelle, I hope you get on the blog soon.  I miss hearing from you.  Love to all!!!
Bobby, Me and Danny are "stepping"  up to the counter for our clean bill of health!

But right now I need you guys to pray.  He had done pretty good since chemo until last night.  Broke out in the shakes and nausea and vomiting.  Temp right now is 102.4.  I called his oncologist and he says to go to the ER because of the risk of infection.  So we are going over there as soon as we can get ready.  Of course he is reluctant just because he doesn't like doctors!  I will post when I know something.

Also I got a message from Michelle on Facebook.  She isn't able to access the blog because of some of the internet settings in GErmany, so I am resending her invite to see if that helps.

Happy Birthday Michelle! Happy Birthday Bobbie! Michelle, I hope you're having as beautiful a day in Germany as we are here!

Trish, I baked the cake exactly like the directions said, no modifications. And everyone loved it!

Paul's friend got to come home Sunday evening and he's doing much better. We went to visit him on Saturday and I overheard the nurses talking about a cupcake recipe that got my attention. Just when I thought Cadbury eggs couldn't get any more delicious, put them in cupcakes! I looked up several recipes and all you have to do is put them in the middle of the cupcake, bake them, and let them cool completely before you ice them. But boy are they rich!

Exactly like mine!! Squarish, crystal clear looking. And it didn't have twelve cups, it had a baker's dozen! I've been married 36 yrs so it has to be older than that if she had it a while.
Bobbie, that is awesome!!!

Was the punchbowl JUST like yours?

I shared this with a few people here.
Bobbie, All I can say is You are your Mothers Child . And God Is Good.I can just hear mommy laughing.
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! God could not have made for me a more beautiful day! I mowed the grass last evening and we are going out to enjoy the day today. My little one and I are going to explore and see what God has for us out there. Remember the scripture "Come and see." Yeah!!!

I want to tell you of some little something that God did for me last Saturday. We were having Marleigh's birthday party and Monica had borrowed my punch bowl. This is the one that Elliott's mother gave to me. It is kinda squarish and crystal looking, really pretty. Well, I thought as I went into town that I would like to find one like it for her so we would always have enough cups (24) for happenings that we do from time to time (which I even voiced to her that week). So I said to God driving down the road "Lord, put a nice punchbowl in my path today so I can get it for Monica!" Do we not have to ask of God what we want? Really, I just wanted to bless someone else!
So I stopped at the Goodwill first and fooled around, looked at the books, looked at the shoes, spent an hour or so and then thought to go check the glass ware! When I looked up on the second shelf, Lo and Behold there was my punchbowl sitting so pretty. A woman was standing with her hand fingering the cups and I was not even apprehensive for I believed that I had ask God for it and it was already mine. You know the rest of the story! She moved politely away and I moved right on up to the counter with what God gave to me! I wanted to laugh out loud with excitement over such a little thing! Rita, God does have a since of humor!
I do say, God does grant the desires of our heart, when we seek him first. Don't you guys find that you seek him more now that Mom and Dad have gone on!!!!!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Aunt Bobbie and to my wonderful cousin Michelle. I hope that the Lord will shower you with extra blessings on your special day.

Just a reminder: April 7th is our family get together and I am also having Kim her baby shower. I know that she registered on line with Walmart but she also had a few things at Target that she liked. She is doing Mason's room in classic pooh and although some of the items are pricey, I thought that maybe several of you may want go in together....just a suggestion. She liked the pack and play, and the swing in the classic pooh at Target. She also liked the high chair but the cheapest place that I found it was on Amazon. The only thing is...the items are only available online...not sure how everyone feels about shopping online?!?!? Don't forget to bring your favorite drink and dish. Kelsey and her friend Nicki are making the shower cake and also making cupcakes. Can't wait to see everyone. Love you all!!!!!!!

We finished chemo around 6, I fought with the pharmacy and the insurance til about 7. He has to have injections of neupogen wed, thur, and fri after each chemo treatment. Of course they want us to get them from a mail order specialty pharmacy. That is just too close for comfort for me. They finally got an override for this weeks and will give the dr office time to send in the rest and we can get it by FedEx. He hasn't been sick so far and he has refused to be so. He is just extremely tired. It was raining at home and started sprinkling on us so we decided to stop in waynesboro and spend the night. We hadn't eaten all day either so we stopped at chik fil e. we r tucked in ready to hit the hay.

Thanks for all your prayers,
Love to all,
Trish and Danny

This is from a cancer survivor!

Benjamin - lung cancer

I am 76 years old and I have one foot in the grave and the other is on a banana peel, but life is a ball.

In 1998 when I was a young man of 70, I was informed that I had a growth in my left lung.  After a few examinations and a needle biopsy, I was informed it was a cancerous growth.  After consultation with an Internist, a Pulmonologist, a Cardiothoracic Sugeon and an Oncologist (here I would like to wish that you all would have as wonderful a group of doctors and nurses as I had), it was decided that chemotherapy and surgery would be our course of action.  This was accomplished.

In January of 2002, it was discovered that I had a tumor in the upper portion of my left lung.   A biopsy indicated it was cancerous.  This time chemo and radiation was the prescribed treatment and it was successful in eliminating the tumor.

I mention this only to indicate I know of what I speak.  Do no let Cancer end your Life.  Wade in with Faith, Humor, and Resolve to survive and enjoy what ever length of time your have left on this green earth.  We will all die at some point, it is the living that we must face, conquer and manage.

Faith is a strong ally and is never to be overlooked.  Humor is the lubricant for an enjoyable Life, both for you and those around you.  Resolve is the determination to fight for every moment of enjoyment life has to offer.  Let no one "rain on your parade."
Just started chemo. Only getting one drug today, next monday get both. This
will take 90 min. Dont know yet if we r staying.
Thanks for increasing the font size.  I did it on my computer too.  Makes it easier for us old folks.

That isn't a baby blanket is it, Emily?

That is such a good picture of Kandis Brown, for those of you who didn't catch the change in her name.  She is the girl who was killed yesterday in the motorcycle accident.  She's the one on your far right.  And yes, it came through fine, Trish.

~Rita~
Here are pictures of my quilt. I machine pieced the top and the front of the binding, and then hand stitched the quilting and hand sewed the back of the binding. The fabric is so adorable...I love the little turtles and snails!

We will be praying for all the request, Love u all.
Not sure if that is showing up for you guys. I am doing it from my iPad. I can see it but not sure if u can.

This is a picture of kandis, her mom, grandma and daughter.
I increased the font size to 16.
I talked to goldie yesterday morning. Dallas blood sugar was 700 and they think it triggered atrial fib. He is still having seizures and still in ICU. Gloria is having a hard time with the complications from her stroke. Junior is there also. She said to keep praying.

We are still sitting here waiting....haven't started a thing.

The quilt is so pretty, Emily.  Grandma would be sooo proud of you.  Grandpa too!!  I read the blog when I got back from church last night, but the name Candace Brown didn't ring a bell.  I've known her by her maiden name much longer...When we went to Orient Hill Baptist Church, she would come and spend the night with Janet.  Candace is my hairdressers daughter.  When I went to bed, Blain told me and I was shocked.  It was a motor cycle accident and she was riding with her parents and boyfriend.  Please remember to pray for them.

~Rita~
Has anyone heard from Goldie or Gloria?
Love the new look of the blog and the banner picture, but find it difficult to read. The larger print was more user friendly.

Will be praying for Danny today.

I finished my first quilt tonight! I will take some better pictures of it tomorrow to post. Just wanted to share! =)

Prayer request:  A friend I went to school with, her daughter was killed this evening on a motorcycle.  She was like 29 or 30 with 3 small children.  Her name is Candace Brown.
Love the tree, the folks sitting on it aren't bad either:)

I hear bullfrogs singing in my pond today!

Sisters, you all were so amazed by the Live Oak trees you saw in Georgia so Julie and I wanted to share these pictures of what is supposed to be the largest one in Florida. It is called the Cellon Oak and is just north of Gainesville, close to Lacross. It is 344" inches (29 feet) in circumference. A pretty awesome sight, I might add. Estimates place it at more than 1500 years old. There is supposed to be one on an island south of Charleston, S.C. that is older but the man who took the photo of Julie and I said he doubted it was bigger than the Cellon Oak and he had visited both of them. We recently had a fire here that burned what was the biggest Baldcypress in Florida. It was about 13 feet in Diameter and was believed to be 3500 years old.
Love you all and Danny we are praying for you as you go for chemo. Alice you are still in our prayers as well.
I do have some videos I'll post on Tuesday.  We go back to work today and work off Tuesday.  We had Pizza Hut pizza yesterday for Mar's party and have quite a bit left over.  Anyone want to stop by??????? LOL

For all you Pizza Hut Fans! YUMMY...Don't forget the iron skillet

birthdays!

Also I better say happy birthday to Bobby and Michelle this week as I may not have a chance later on!  Hope its a beautiful day for you two to share!
Is this better?  I was just fooling around yesterday and trying different things.  I didn't like it either, just didn't feel right.  I was seeing if you guys were awake and would notice:)  Guess you did!

Love the birthday princess.  Are there any videos to go along with those?

Monica, when I was pregnant with Emily, Mommy told me she used birth control in the form of a ring, cant remember the name of it now.  Also some jelly stuff, anyway, she said it was hard to keep in place and always coming out!  LOL  Guess things have improved somewhat since then.
BC or not, God wanted Mommy to have a big family, and here we are;)

Addy, did you change up the recipe or do anything different.  I hope to try it this week after chemo.  Dannys appetite goes to pot after we start but he does love cinnamon rolls so I am hoping he will like this too.

We are leaving in the morning at 9.  Be there at 12, and they will premedicate with nausea meds and all that good stuff.  He probably won't even start til 2 or 3.  Chances are we will have to spend the night.  Remember Danny in prayer around noon tomorrow.  He isn't exactly excited about it, but anxious to get started and get it over with.
Alice, Danny said he wished you all were close enough to share barf bags:)  or should I say :(
Marleigh, You look so pretty.  If I may put a caption on the second picture?..."This is supposed to be fun, I'm havin'...whatever!!"

The new look of the blog is pretty but I'm finding it is not reader-friendly for me.  I can't see very well, with or without my glasses.  But it is pretty!

David, we are having Florida weather here...Have only had 3 little snows.  Haven't plowed the driveway or used the snow blower but once.  Seems like we haven't even had winter.  Flowers are coming up and I'm ready to plant garden...well, I might wait a little longer on that.  We ARE gettin' ready to have new potatoes!!  We had some buried for the winter...Gonna fix them like Mommy always did, with gravy on them.  Ya know what else it's time for??? RAMPS  Steve, I will be coming up this week to dig me some...I'll get Mary and Alma some too.

~Rita~
