If you think I have lost my mind and I am talking to myself on the blog?  This was actually a conversation via texting between emily, tanner and myself.  :)  It just looks like I did all the talking!

Couldn't make it with the flat bed on 460 last night but at least we got off the road! Haha

I thought Adam was driving a tractor trailer but I was wrong, my bad :)  This was once they got off the road at his friends house.  Glad they were safe!!

Here's some pics of Rt. 100 last night I was talking about earlier.  The road has since been opened back up as far as I know.
Trish, I will be praying for your job and Andrew!!  I hate when the little ones feel bad :(  Addy, loved the chandelier :)  I haven't been able to get pics yet.  It never quite got warm enough to go sledding.  With Marleigh just getting over bronchitis and pnuemonia I want to be careful taking her out.  I think it's supposed to be a bit warmer tomorrow so we'll try for that :)
Oh by the way, our blog is just under 200 views of being visited 100,000 times!  Just think how much we have shared in those pages!
Addy I love your light!  Tell Paul I have some little projects to do at my house!  He needs to come on out.  I doubt the pay will be good but I can feed him and he can always get slobbers from Gracie for free!!  I told Jacob today that we had a lot to do around outside in the yard and powerwashing the house and garage.  He is already planning out his garden for next year:)  Daddy would have been really proud of him and his green thumb.  Except I can hear him now, Jacob you should plant some flowers in that garden!

I start training for my job next tuesday and thursday then just be available when needed.  You guys pray that this will turn into a fulltime job or at least that I can get enough hours to pay the bills:)

I have a prayer request for one of the twins I babysit!  Andrew had tubes placed in his ears and adenoids removed on Monday.  He has had a fever ever since and he went back to the Dr yesterday and he has pneumonia in his l. lung.  Poor little guy stayed with me on Wednesday and he just wasn't his normal rambunctious little self!

Monica we are still waiting on your pictures of the snow!  When we went to Lewisburg today it was so wierd, there was no snow until we hit Alta and then it started piling up.  I think it paralyzed the eastern end:)

Ruth, I love The Message version of the Bible!  Sometimes when I can't understand any other version, that is what I turn to.  Its kind of like the Bible for Dummies!  lol or Hillbillies:)

Janet how are you and the baby coming along?  Daniel and Alice hope all is well with you guys!  David how are your check ups coming?  I was talking to David and Susan Hutsenpiller about all of you guys and David said he went to school with a David Treadway but he wasn't MY brother he didn't think.  He said he was just a couple years behind him in school:)  I told him Yep!  that would be my brother.  Vonda, how are things in Michigan?  I was hoping to get up to see you but I don't know when that will happen.  I feel like quite the homebody!  If you can get away from home you can always come visit and pack a bag and stay awhile.  I would love to have the company.  I think some of my neighbors (Rita, Steve, Lonnie) would love to have a visit too.

Well I am going to go watch The Avengers thanks to Steve!  Night all,
Love you guys,

Hey Everybody,

Seems like everyone has kept power through the storm! That's wonderful! I did not work yesterday because we had a (Snowless) Snowday! All of the surrounding counties cancelled school really early yesterday morning, but they kept pushing back the time when the storm was supposed to hit here. Well, it never did! It was colder than blue blazes yesterday but I barely had 2 flakes on my porch this morning. So today feels like Monday, and I bet they will wait until the last minute to call off school from now on!
Monica, it does take me a while to clean my table off! I took some pictures on my phone but they don't do my "chandelier" justice! I will post them anyway. Stay warm everybody!
We plan on going out in a little bit after it warms up some.  I'll get some pics then provided that my camera works (it's been acting up on me).  It took Corey about 3 hours to get home last night when it usually takes 25 minutes.  He got stopped on interstate around Radford due to an accident.  Adam and a co-worker were on their way to Bluefield from Norton, driving tractor trailers, and had to stay over in Lebanon.  Luckily Adam has a friend who lives there and they stayed with him.  We have a cousin who was coming back from Daleville and he sat in traffic for 4 hours in between Ironto and Christiansburg.  I think he got home around 10ish.  There were trees down on rt 100 between Pearisburg and Dublin so 100 was closed for quite some time.  We had some friends that were trying to make it into work and off course they couldn't.  It's mostly a two lane road through there and from the pics there was no way anyone could turn around so I'm guessing they sat there for some time as well.  We had the scanner on all evening and it was one hot mess.  Kudos to all the officers, ems, firemen/women and anyone else who were out and about helping people.  I stayed at work till 4 and took my sweet time coming home.  At that time there wasn't a whole lot of people on the roads.  At least this morning we woke up to sunshine.  I don't think I've seen it since Saturday when it was 70 degrees :)  It has rained almost everyday this week and I'm talking some heaving rain.  We also had all kinds of roads in the county and surrounding counties closed due to flooding yesterday before the snow ever got here.   Praise the Lord that he has kept us all safe through this.  It is a beautiful morning!!
That one came from the South and by the time it got here, it had fizzled out.  We barely got enough snowflakes to tell that it had snowed.  However, it is a might colder.  It's 20 now...a big difference from last week!  Lewisburg got pounded though.  But of course, for them, 7 inches is a near blizzard.  Yeah, Monica, Post some pics.

Boy howdy is it ever snowing down here in Virginia!  So pretty.  Monica post us some pictures please!
The closest thing to a hillbilly Bible that I know of is the Message Bible.  One of the girls in my Bible study at work calls it "her homey Bible."
I love the 10 commandments.  I made a copy and sent to my pastor.  I told him that if God had sent him up the mountain instead of Moses, this is what we would've had!  He is SUCH a country boy.  I wish somebody would write a Hillbilly version of the bible.  I would LOVE to read it.

Cookie and Reese

This past weekend our pastor, Pastor Joe, spoke on worry vs. peace.  He made a couple of very interesting comments which he attributed to Dr. Caroline Leaf, a South African Christian scientist who studies the brain (http://drleaf.com/about.php).  She has been to our church twice and she is quite fascinating.  She connects the way the brain works with the Bible.  Anyway, the comments were:

87% of illnesses can be attributed to our negative thought life, and approximately 13% to diet, genetics and environment.  (She explains why Jesus had much to say about forgiveness - that if you hold unforgiveness, it creates negative thoughts and causes all kinds of illnesses.)

Your body releases cancer cells and then it releases cancer-killing cells.  If you are under stress {worry}, the cancer-killing cells are attacked by chemicals released by stress and they can't do their work.

Pastor Joe said that in order to have peace, which is the opposite of worry, we must trust that God:

1.  Is always there.
2.  Is able.
3.  Is smarter than us.
4.  Will come through for us.

SOMETIMES GOD DOESN'T CALM THE STORM, HE CALMS HIS CHILD IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM.
Your fire looks so cozy, it is 27 degrees here this morning , after such a mild weekend.hope everyone is doing ok
