The grader got hung up last night up here and they had to bring 2 Inloaders up here this morning to open the road.

While sitting down to a table of hot buttermilk biscuits and gravy, sausage adn fried eggs that my family never thought they would eat unless it was at Nana's...

Olivia: Mom, you are a good cooker.
Kaiden: Mom, you are a good cooker like Nana.
Mommy: Oh, that is the best compliment ever:) Thank you!
Kaiden: You are a good cooker! Tastes good!

I felt like a Gourmet Chef this morning:)

CAUGHT IN THE ACT!

I hope you can see this. This little varmit had been out in Mommy's birdfeeder. If I'd had Steve or Emily's camera, this would've been a good pic. The State Road has sent an InLoader around to open our road. The guy isn't from around here but I forgot to ask him where he was from. He is having a hard time. NOW, the snow is piled up higher than the fence up the straight stretch. We are going to try and get out after Blain plows the driveway. Need to go to the bank and such. Blain didn't have to work today. It was a good thing, he couldn't have gotten out anyway. It was blocked around at the church. Going to try to post one more pic.

Mornin' all, Steve here. Everyone is eating breakfast including Dad. We had oats, apples, biscuits, and some grapes. He tried to go the the bathroom this morning and fell near the tub. Bobby was in the new bathroom and he got up to go by himself. He said it hit him all of a sudden. He was in a hurry I think. He scraped his nose on the stool beside the tub. He still hasn't had a pain pill since yesterday morning. He was out of his head all day long. He's still picking at stuff that isn't there this morning. Must still be the pain meds making him loopy. We got several inches of fresh snow here last night. Bobby and Elliot came in about 8 o'clock last night and they said it was pretty bad. Later, TMFI64.

Monin' all, Steve here. Dad ate some egg and cooked apples this morning with a couple bites of biscuit. When I tried to give him his medecine he accted like he was out of it. He just kind of set there with his medecine cup in his hand with a blank stare on his face. Trish came over and checked his vitals and they were okay. She thinks that the pain pill is too strong once it started working. He's on a pain patch also. I guese it's hard to get it regulated! He's napping now in the recliner. Later, TMFI64.
Nice Apron:)
Steve you look right at home in your apron,Will be right there for breakfast, whats cooking?
Do you all have lots of snow this morning?

Breakfast is ready.

Thanks Janet!
I'd love to do their pictures sometime! Maybe this spring when the snow melts. Although it may be june or july before that happens. =P We are already on a delay for tomorrow.
Emily, I need to book an appointment for my kids! Clara's pictures are beautiful!
I love that face!!
Rita, I can't believe that Mom and DAd haven't said they have been going to the mailbox everyday! All they have to do is go to the LR and sit on the couch while you boot up the computer! Man I wish I was there for supper...sounds good! We had bacon and eggs! It was good too! Schools already called off..no surprise there. Emma was here today. Poor thing has ear infections in both ears and a sinus infection. She has felt pretty miserable so we just layed around and watched Nick Jr. She did manage to get up enough energy to play the drums for a while and pick on Jacob! She likes it when they have a snow day.
Bobbie, I forgot to tell you about Montana. She hurt her leg/foot somehow when she was still a pup. Don't know how, but she will limp on it off and on. I noticed it is getting worse. Of course I am sure arthritis has set in now and the cold weather makes it worse.
Miracles do come in small packages!! The act of eating an egg with a slice of cheese is an amazing thing! And truly a miracle if you could see the way his plates usually come back. So whatever you are doing rita make sure you right it down to the tee so that we can do it too. Apparently he doesn't like strawberry milkshakes! I made one Sunday for him and it was really good, but he informed Danny it was only good if you liked it:) He still has his wit and spunk!!
Corn cob Clara!

Evening~Mommy and Daddy are eating TV dinners! Right in front of the TV. They're having fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli and a biscuit of course. They had their showers and Mommy was so funny. Paula took Daddy to the shower and I came in the LR and Mommy was undressing. I asked her what she was doing and she said "Well, I have to take a shower so I thought I might as well strip" I started laughing and we both just hee hawed! Daddy got really weak when she took him to the shower and we had to get him back to the LR with the walker. I told him it was b/c he hadn't been up and about. So if you are here, just watch him that he isn't wobbly. Waiting on Steve, and yeah, he is coming home to supper.
Good Afternoon All
I'm so glad to hear that Dad has picked up on his eating! Yes, Praise the Lord! Steve, ask Dad if there is anything he thinks he might like that I could pick up for him and bring that way tomorrow. Something from the market in town maybe (parsnips or turnips). He can tell me just how to fix them too. They might not taste like Rita's but I'll give it my best shot. How is he set for grapes? I got some cauliflower and broccoli. If you cook it long enough it gets good and soft.
We plan to come after my kids leave so it might be about 8 pm before we get there. Tell Mom not to wait up, I'll see her for breakfast! Love to all
Does everyone just have a mental picture of mom out there "coaching" grandma & grandpa up the hill with a timer? LOL Monica, it is still janet_teacher4@hotmail.com same as always. whatever i gave you, you can keep. I haven't given up my baby clothes and stuff because I am hoping that I will need them again...SOON! By the way, on the pizza kits, you can just go to pizzakits.com and click on products. Mom said the other was too confusing:(
I say praise the Lord and Amen Glad to hear Dad is eating good , give him a week at this and he'll be up and ready to go to the mail box .All of you guys are doing a great job.Mom and Daddy are truly blessed and so are we.
PRAISE THE LORD!!!! Glad to hear that everything is going much better with grandma and grandpa :) Emily, I'm sure Marleigh will be up to having visitors as well as her mom and dad haha. Janet, do you have the same email address or a new one. I tried sending you one again and apparently you didn't get it. Anywho, the parenting magazines you gave me to read, do you want them back or do you want me to pass them on to someone else? Just curious :) The taco salad had no effect whatsoever except for gas LOL!!! I'm thinking Marleigh likes mexican food, any other suggestions for what food might speed her on her way????????
I told them they were going to have to get up and take a walk for some exercise. I told them that I wouldn't make them go get the mail just yet but in a few more days after Daddy gets some more food in him, they would be walkin' to the mailbox!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They thought that was funny. Do they think I'm kiddin'???
Lunch Report~I cooked fresh apples (I burned the first pot talking to Ruth) and loaded them up with butter and sugar, fried red potatoes and made Biscuits in the iron skillet (not too crunchy). I fixed them a plate and took to the LR so they can eat together. (Mommy eats better with Daddy) I sat on the couch with my plate too. Daddy ate and then set his plate down. I told him to eat absolutely all he could eat and I wouldn't fuss. Well I went downstairs to take care of some laundry and when I came back, there was still some left I started to take his plate and he reached out and took it and said he might eat a few more bites!!! He cleaned his plate except for a few bites of biscuit!! Do I hear a Praise The Lord out there in cyberspace???? I thought so. Mommy cleaned her plate and ate an extra biscuit. Daddy is eating a little Debbie cake and another cup of milk now. I told him we are having fried chicken for supper!
Vonda~Thanks for the kind words, but I ain't in this alone. Me and God had a talk Tuesday and I didn't do all the talkin'! LOL I just told Mommy that I didn't know if you guys would be in this weekend b/c of the storm and she said you need to wait until the weather clears. She said "I'd hate to haf to go frum here to Rainelle in 'is, I shore don't want 'em on the roads as fur as they haf to come." LOL Daddy is sleeping on the couch watching the Outdoor Channel=)
Bobbie~I moved all the birdfeeders to the front yard so Mommy can sit at the kitchen window and watch 'em. I'm going to see if Daddy will come in here and sit and watch them if he wakes up. He will fuss about the Bluejays eating all the feed but that's okay!!
Don't let them read this!!! I cleaned out the sock drawers and O My Word!?!?! Tony Bennett and Tony Orlando and Tom Jones would love to get in Daddy's sock drawer. Those silky socks would sell for a fortune on E-Bay. Vintage is the word, I believe. Oh and Bobbie! I found the perfect birthday present for you and I know that Mommy would want you to have them. I KNOW I DO!!!
Rita, you are doing an AWESOME Job, with Dad, and Mom, Sounds like you have the plan worked out pretty good ,for them.
Dad I am expecting to see you jumping, hoops before long, with eating and getting your strength back , sounds like you are on a roll, so keep up the good work and follow Rita's instructions , and eat like a horse and pretty soon you will be feeling like one LOL Then maybe not .And Eat all those eggs you can so Mom cant eat them all.
Pretty soon the weather will be breaking and you can get out and tend to your flowers, you know they will be popping up out of the ground as soon as the snow is gone.
And I am really proud of you , for starting to eat better, Great Job, cant let Mommy eat it all. Great Job Rita, for getting it right.
Good Mornin' Ya'll
Daddy had a good night. They went to bed at 7 and Daddy only had 1/2 percocet. He slept all night, but I found him on the couch and I asked him if he was hurting. He said "not to amount to nothing". I asked him if he was sick. He said no! I asked him why he had gotten up to come to the couch and he said :) "I don't know!" He is starting to sound like Mommy. I have a system that seems to be working and I will write it down today and post it on the inside of the cabinet (on the wall going into the old LR). Please try to follow it when staying with them. Ya know, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" He ate 2 Saltines, 12 oz. of milk, 4 oz. of prune juice, 3/4 of a yogurt, 1 egg with cheese, and half slice of bread with grape jelly. I spread this out over about an hour b/c if I took it all to him at once, he would be a might overwhelmed. When I got to the eggs, I took Mommy hers in to the LR too. He looked at me kinda funny and I said, "Now, you ain't hurtin' and you ain't sick at your stomach, so there ain't no reason why you can't eat." And so he ate it. I asked Mommy how many eggs she wanted for breakfast, "one or a half a dozen?" That got a chuckle out of both of them. Daddy's color is so much better. Now if you haven't seen him in a while, you might not think he looks good, but he looks better than I've seen him in a few weeks. I told them I wouldn't bother them til lunch time! The Lortab in the morning and somewhere between 12 and 2, seem to be working fine for now. We don't want to over medicate him, just keep the pain under control. However, don't wait until he is hurting to give him his pain med or it will be out of control. Also, When you are here, and fixing food for them, make sure it has some nutritional value. I told him, once his body realized it wanted food again, he would be eating his meals and all the junkfood he could get his hands on. Going to do some laundry and make some Banana Bread. Talk to ya'll afterbit. Wow, it is amazing how my vocabulary has changed since I quit working. I'm starting to sound like the company I keep...Blain! O My Word!!

Wow! I was in bed all day yesterday with a migraine headache and you guys went blogger crazy! I like it!! Rita, for someone that doesn't know much(LOL) you sure seem to be getting a lot accomplished~ You will have to enlighten the rest on that inside joke!! I am so glad he is eating, I have a feeling Mommy will eat better if Daddy is! Tuesday evening when I was there I was asking Mommy what all the nurse said about her....she sat there for a little bit and then said, "well I think she said I need to lose a couple of pounds!" LOL, I told her I think she DID lose a couple pounds but she didn't NEED to! she thought that quite funny!
We got about an inch of snow overnight and they have already called off school. There is a storm warning until Sunday!

yeah...and a delay to go with it!
monica, marleigh's room looks awesome! i can't wait til she's here. we are on spring break the week after her due date. we may just have to make a trip to VA. only if you think she'll be ready for visitors by then of course.
ahhhh the snow is coming. I bet we already have an inch or two of new snow.
Daddy slept from 1:30 to 5:15 when Addy woke him to eat some dumplins. He only ate a few but then he ate a graham cracker with peanut butter and some water. Then he ate a whole banana. That's more than he's eaten in a week. He didn't hurt today and his only pain med, aside from the patch was a Lortab 5-500mg at 6 am and another one at 1:30. He and Mommy were ready for bed at 7, so I gave him half of a percocet and I told him that would probably do him through the night. I left another Lortab beside the bed in case he needs it tonight. Ya'll keep praying that he will be able to continue eating and regain his strength. Nite
Monica~I showed Mommy Marleigh's room and she said that is my color too! You know her favorite color is "Lilac", Right? Daddy is sleeping and Mommy and I are going to eat some reruns. Potato Soup!
Naa~ I can't stand the sight of blood! :)
The room looks nice Monica. We're gonna have to get over there and finally see your place! Maybe after the little one gets here.

Rita, keep up the good work. I believe you would make a good nurse. :)
Yay!! So glad to hear he ate something and enjoyed it!!
Oh! and a little cupcake after that! Did I say he drank a full glass of milk? I am so excited.
I told him if he keeps this up, he will get his strength back and be able to get outside when the weather clears. He said he hopes so. "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he!"
Monica~I think Marleigh doesn't have enough stuff in her changing table. Mommy keeps asking when she is coming!! And Mommy laid down on the couch this morning and dozed off and said she dreamed Bobbie was here. When she saw it was just mean, I guess it was a nightmare. LOL
Praise the Lord!! Daddy slept until noon and I had to go wake him up to change his pain patch. I helped him to the living room and put him on the couch. I gave him a glass of milk with his Miralax in it and 2 Saltines. After he ate that, I gave him his Zofran (for upset stomach) it's the tiniest pill in his meds. We waited about 15 minutes, then I took him a scrambled egg with a slice of cheese melted on it and a slice of plain bread. I tore the bread in little pieces and he licked the plate clean!!! I asked him if it was hard to get down and he said it wasn't. IT TASTED GOOD!!! Since this worked, would you all do this when giving him his meds? It might be something as simple as giving him the Zofran before he eats. He had crackers and milk before anything, though. I'm already working on lunch. I'm thinking Chicken noodle soup and maybe a banana.
Monica, your baby's room is beautiful, I love it.It looks like you are all ready.
Morning All~ As far as the weather, it depends on where you look, but they all show, at least, 7 inches expected. That's just a small dusting, if that's all we get. No need to even bring your boots for that. However, if they're wrong....!
I went in to give Daddy his pill at 6:00 and he was surprised that it was already 6 in the morning. He must have slept all night! He went back to sleep and Mommy got up and came in the kitchen for her morning Tea. She said "For three mornings we have been coming in here and watching it get daylight", and she was right!
So did the Taco Salad give anyone indigestion? Is Marleigh on her way yet? Matthew says that pictures of babies, baby clothes, baby rooms, and especially anyone holding a baby are forbidden on the blog until my fever goes away:) LOL JK

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Here's some pics of the baby's room. Other than a few things I need to put away on top of the changing table, everything is ready to go. Mark put the car seat in the vehicle yesterday so we are just waiting now :)

All you guys that are headin' to WV this weekend better bring your snow boots!!! Rita and Trish said they are expecting more weather. Imagine that! TMFI64
No Janet , there is no other kind, lol
Vesta seen them and said Ma maw, she has socks just like me.and you know there is no place like great grannies.Other Than Nana's
Congratulations Corey!
Vonda~ I have to buy them big enough to fit her feet:) Yes- Wal-Mart special...is there any other kind?

I went to pick the kids up today and thinking that they miss me so much when I am gone, Kaiden saw me come through the door and said, "Me home wiph you?" All the while shaking his head no and looking at grandma Twedway:) It was so cute! Then he said, "Stay here!" with a smile!
Taco Salad? I would be willing to bet she will be here soon! My friend ate Mexican near her due date. She was inlabor for a whole day and thought it was indigestion. :) What about the magazines?
We just got back from the grocery store and the dr.'s office. They did an ultrasound today and it appears that Marleigh weighs approximately 8 lbs. 7 ounces and I've dilated 1 centimeter. I have another appointment on Monday and the dr. is hoping that I will have dilated to 2 or 3 centimeters by then. We also made an appointment for the 8th, which is her due date, and he said if she hasn't come by then they'll do another ultrasound. She'll most likely gain another pound by the 8th if I haven't had her yet so a c-section could be possible. The dr. said she's big but she's not huge so we'll have to wait and see!! We are ready for her whenever she decides to make her appearance :) I'll try to take some pics of the baby's room and post them tonight when we get back from mom and dad's. We're having taco salad to celebrate Corey's first day at his new job at Shelor's!!
Sometime Friday evening , as far as I know Rita.Maybe 4 or 5 Hopefully.
Vonda, Ruth: When do you guys plan on being at Mom and Dads?
Hey, Olivia, Vesta has the same kin of socks on today that you do. Are they Wal-Mart special?Who is the biggest Cookie Monster?

Can you say Cookie Monsters?

This little guy paid us a visit yesterday evening and this morning while Jenny was here. He is eating the birdseed. I took this from the kitchen window and as you can see, that spooked him.
Posted by Picasa
Morning All~ Jenny (their nurse) just left and Daddy has lost 6 more lbs this week, Mommy has lost 2. Daddy was sick at his stomach this morning and again about 10:30. She told him that he had to have something on his stomach with these pain meds. He agreed to eat something before taking his meds, so whoever is here, make sure he eats something even if it is only a couple crackers. He also agreed to start taking his Megace (appetite stimulant) again and he took it for me with no trouble. She told him she expected him to gain 2 lbs this week and he told her he would try. He ate a piece of dry toast and a little chicken noodle soup for me. I'll keep trying to get something in him. Every thing else seemed to be okay. The Miralax we started Daddy on for Constipation seems to be working for him so we started Mommy on it too. They took it with prune juice.
Monica~ No e-mail- resend.
Janet,
After hearing about all these viruses, snotty noses and bugs going around I think you better stay inside before you get in trouble LOL :p Did you get my email about the parenting magazines? Let me know.

Monday, February 22, 2010

I can't wait to hold and squeeze that new baby...if Matthew will let me get within 200 yards of her:) I am getting a bit of the fever and I don't think it is the bug that's going around. Holding a baby will definitely put me over the edge:) By the way, my kids were too excited that they got to see Grandma Twedway today! I thought they were going to have to walk in the snow up there if I didn;t eventually go back to school. I may actually have to go all week this week:)
Bobbie ,there's nothing like a Grand babie, you'll see when it comes.
Afternoon~Daddy was out for the count after the percocet! He slept all day. When he woke up, I fixed him a plate of reruns and he only ate a few bites. I took him some pudding and he only ate about an ounce of that. He is on one couch and Mommy is on the other. I gave him a Lortab 5-500mg at 3:30 and he is resting again. He doesn't want to take the pain meds until he needs them but by then it is too late. It is hard to get ahead of the pain, by then. I will give him his meds during the night to make sure he gets them. Georgie called today and said she had heard that Mommy "got out" and we had to put alarms on the door. I assured her that we are keeping an eye on her but that we DO have alarms on the doors. They enjoyed the pics sent today and the emails from you. I read them to them after Daddy woke up.
Good Afternoon from Virginia,
It is raining here today and the snow is leaving! Yeah! It was so pretty yesterday here too. I can't wait for spring. It is just around the corner, I hope. I love the pictures of Mom knocking off the icicles! I bet the little girl in her was excited! We had some humongous ones hanging off the back of our church Sunday morning! My kids are napping right now so I am getting a tiny break! Hope Dad is feeling better today. Corey starts his new job at Shelor's tomorrow so everyone say a prayer for him that all will go well. Loved the pic's of the hound dog and pixies too! They were precious. Oh! and the big snowman up north! Making memories with dad is priceless! Love Bobbie Two weeks from today and my grandbaby will be here! We hope!

Snow fun

Shawn and the girls made a snowman this morning and Memaw captured the action on her camera.
Just taking a minute to check in because Mommy wanted me to let Vonda know about the possum. She told me her number was keyed in so I could just call you. I told her I would blog so everyone could read it. The possum is dead! Still laying there this morning. Daddy woke up complaining of alot of pain. He said the medicine wasn't working. Well, when I put his socks on him, I found a pain patch on the bottom of his foot, so he was getting it! He also had one on his back. But he went to lay down in the bed and when I went to help him, there were his two pain pills by his bed. He hadn't taken any all night! Tonight, I'm going to get up and give them to him. Every 4 or 6 hours, depending on what Trish and I decide to give him. He did drink his juice this morning and after I gave him a Lortab at 9 and a half of Percocet at 9:30, he got back up to the chair and wanted some cookies. He ate some muffins that Marcia had brought and 2 sugar cookies with milk. I just checked with him and he said the pain has let up. I am going to give him his pain meds before he has to ask for them and we'll see if we can't get ahead of the pain. I did tell him that the stronger the pain meds and the more we give him, it is more likely to cause him to feel "crazy". I wanted to let him know that we aren't just TRYING to make him feel this way. I told him we are trying to control the pain, but still not give him the amount that makes him feel "crazy", keep him from feeling sick to his stomach so he can eat, and keep him from being constipated. As you All know, That's getting harder and harder to do.
Well we have about 6in. of snow this morning and it is the wet and heavy kind. Hope we don't get any more.
I don't know about chasing Lonnie ,but I do remember Mommy chasing me , to give me a whipping.
She told me not to run, but guess what I ran anyway, and I got the whipping too. but mommy was laughing because I ran in spite of my self, even thou I knew, I was going to get it. I guess it was funny.
The boys were always jumping off the porch, but i was always afraid too.
Mom , how is the opossum this morning ? is he gone.
I can see that everyone must've enjoyed the weather instead of bloggin' this weekend. It was 55 degrees at Mom and Dads yesterday and the snow and ice left! The gutters were draining, sounded like a river running. Danny and the boys cracked ice on the back porch all day to get it moved off, but they finally got it before the sun went down. Since Lonnie doesn't blog I will have to tell on him. He stayed Saturday and the front porch on the new addition was very heavy with snow so being the good son that he is he opened the door and went out with his shovel. Shoveled for an hour and made a good dent then decided he would come in. Only wait...the door locked behind him! So he did what he did in years past.....he jumped off the porch and went around! Rita said he did that when he was younger after being chased by Vonda? Is that right? I wasn't sure if it was Ruth or Vonda? either one would've had a good reason to chase him probably!
Mommy, did you ever have to chase any of them off the porch? You would've probably had a better reason than any of them.
Well I better get ready and get the kids up for school. This is the first monday in a long time they have had to go!
Mommy: don't forget to check and see if that Possum is still laying up there. I really have a feeling he jumped up when he was sure MOntana was asleep and headed for the hills! It was so funny yesterday when Montana chased it. He hissed one time and then as soon as Montana went to attack, he rolled up in a ball and quit moving. MOntana grabbed it a few times and shook it but wasn't interested since it wouldn't fight back!

Sunday, February 21, 2010

There was a possum on the porch. Montana chased it off then it played dead?

LOnnie and Marsha came up for lunch today and brought BBQ ribs, Mac and cheese, green beans from her garden, and potatoes! also cupcakes! Daddy just ate a few bites but we pureed the rest of the ribs so that he can eat them later. Marsha didn't know it but she cooked a scrumptious meal on Dannys birthday!
Monica-last week Ruth logged on to the blog and her virus protection said there was a virus. Her computer tech people told her it was from the blog and thinks it's from some photos. I have looked for them and can't find them. But no one else is having any problems so we are still blogging. Hopefully everyones virus protection is protecting them.

And yes, the presto has been discontinued. So just send everything to their new email.
