Sassy Tailgate Sandwiches (by Caryn Ross-in Taste of Home magazine)
12 Hawaiian sweet rolls, split
1 lb. shaved Black Forest Ham
12 oz. Gruyere cheese, sliced
1 tub (8 oz.) Philadelphia Chive and Onion Cream Cheese
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. dried minced onion
* Arrange bottoms of rolls in a greased 13x9 inch baking dish. Layer with ham and Gruyere cheese. Spread each roll top with cream cheese; place over Gruyere.
* In a small bowl, combine the butter, Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce and onion. Pour over sandwiches. Let stand for at least 20 minutes.
* Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until heated through.
The first time I made these I followed the ingredients as written. This time I couldn't find the Gruyere cheese and the deli was already closed so I used regular sliced ham out of the cold case and sliced Provolone cheese. If you don't like ham I'm sure you could use turkey, roast beef, etc. and it would still turn out yummy!! :)
