Johnny Dickens
Johnny Dickens, of Arnett, went home to be with the Lord, February 24, 2011, at his home after a long illness.
He was born February 28, 1948, at Flat Branch, W.Va., a son of the late Dempsey and Bernice Thompson Dickens.
He was a retired electrician in the coal mines with 19 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers: Kenneth, Bobby, Iona, and a baby boy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rebecca “Becky” Dickens; daughter and granddaughter, Alexandrea; sons, Bryan and wife, Jeannie, Bobby and wife, Brooke, Johnny Dean and wife, Peggy; godson, Michael Paul and wife, Courtney; sisters, Margaret and husband, Wayne Clay, Letha and husband, Darrell Linksweiler, Donna and husband, John Ferris, Freda and husband, Lewis Boggess; brothers, Jimmy and wife, Kay Dickens, and Tim Wills; seven grandchildren, Alexandrea, James, Franklin, Andrea, Paige, Brayce, and Nate.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011, in the Bolt Church of God, Bolt, with Pastor Randall Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery, Arnett.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
Armstrong Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
