Howdy from Backus Mountain
I hear Clara's little brother is on his way in to the world. I hope he makes it on his Grandpa's birthday. I told Mommy and she grinned like a possum eatin' poop! Speakin' of Mommy, she will no longer have to be cathed as long as she keeps doin' what she's doin'. She is peeing on her own, as of Saturday when she had "the siezure". Makes no sense to me either. She doesn't tell us she needs to go, but when she starts figgitin' and taking off her cover AND tryin' to get up, that's what she's tryin' to tell us. She hasn't had one accident and when we cathed her tonight, just to see if there was any residual, she only had 20ccs. That tells us the plumbin' is workin'! She ate good today, but of course, she had fresh cooked cabbage, pinto beans and new potatoes. We have found that if she eats a good breakfast, and she always does, then she doesn't want lunch until around 2, then she really doesn't want supper until around 7. Yeah, I know, but it works for her and who are we to argue with HER. You can't get a word in edgewise! Actually, she hasn't been talkin' much this week, but she is still laughin' and we can figure out what she wants, or in some cases, doesn't want.
Blain got our well hooked up, with Steve and Paul's help, and he said it is making more than 10 gallon a minute. He couldn't pump it dry. It is red water too and we will have to run it through the softener. Was hoping for better water but we should have plenty. 3 wells on 20 acres should be enough water!! We are going to have it tested to see exactly what is in it.
Blain's garden is growing good. Got our first cukes today and the corn is lookin' good. Teresa and I started Weight Watchers today again bc all our clothes are gettin' tight, really tight. Not to worry, we are still tryin' to fatten Mommy up.
I canned 20 quarts of Pintos today. I was a little embarrassed to check out at WalMart with over 9lbs. of Pinto Beans. Everybody was lookin' at me funny. But I only paid $7.10 for them. Good deal, don't ya think? Gonna turn in, tomorrow is another busy day on the Mountain.
