Grandpa
by Lorie Thomas
A soldier gets a medal. A pilot gets his wings. What do I give Grandpa? He stands for many things.
Lots of gifts come to mind to show the world the man...to tell the story of him and Vivian and the family that they would plan.
It happened many years ago, when they started out the Tree. God decided He would bless them and Vonda made three.
Boys and girls continued to fill the house with fun and love. Soon there were tweleve branches looked down on from above.
I am but a little leaf on this my family tree, but what do I give the man who means so much to me?
An earthly king wears his crown to show his trials and fames, but I will give my grandpa a coat filled with our names.
Grandkids and "great ones" are the leaves that fill his Tree and he can carry us on his back wherever he may be.
So my dearest Grandpa this coat is filled with love. A reminder of the Tree you planted that was strenghtened from above.
