O My Word! Football fridays! That brings back alot of Memories. I didn't have football players, but I did have a Cheerleader (and yes that is a sport) and a Flag girl. Hot dogs and Nachos never tasted as good as they do at a football game.
Emma, Looking good in the high heels.
Physical Therapy came today and boy did she give Mommy a workout. Came at 8:30 and she will be coming every Monday and Friday at the same time. Mommy is her first patient. Her husband is the Physical Therapist at Rainelle Medical Center. Sally is in there doing pt with Mommy now. She is wonderful!! She is a God Send, just like Teresa. Mommy is eating really good and sleeping good at night. Once we get that modified shoe, she will do so much better. Nursing came today too and Teresa and Sally was here and said she was very thorough.
Daniel called and said they are coming on Monday and staying until Thursday. Mommy lit up when I told her. Talk to ya'll alittle later.

Tea Party at Eloise's
Rita please show these to Mommy and tell her about our tea party. She and Emma used to have tea partys at my house!
Steve the driveway looks really good! When we got Daddy the rock that's what I had in mind to do with it, but he had something else in mind. I think we have finally gotten home health and physical therapy on track now. At least we are dealing with an agency in the same county as the doctor and they know are so that helps. Her blood work was almost perfect! Her sugar was up a hair but she was non fasting and her platelets were up a little but nothing major and that could've just been from the transfusion or combination blood thinner and surgery. But it is nothing to worry about. No dehydration, electrolytes were excellent! Truth be known her bloodwork was probably better than most of ours!~
Emma is trying to take a nap and I have music playing of Mommy and Daddy and of course some of you guys are singing. She can't quite figure out that most of you that are singing are mamaws and papaws! Junior and Gloria sing the Wise Men build a house upon the rock and we did the motions. Good stuff! Too bad we didn't have video to go with it. When Junior talks on here to David it sounds like something right off of Hee Haw! quite funny. Enjoy your alls beautiful fall day! Tanner is playing at home tonight if anyone wants to come out and support our Cavaliers! They are undefeated so far and he is excited that he doesn't have any broken bones...He had me pick him up some pink tape yesterday from Hibbets sporting store. He is wrapping his cleats in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness this month!

Steve~ looks great!
Jacob~ You should have moved int he picture so we can actually see the scarecrow. We can only see a little of his face! LOL Just kidding love ya
So glad to hear good news about grandma!
Mom~ I put a roast on today, will bring some up for dinner this evening.
Olivia is doing well in school. She had show and tell today for letter D. She took the pictures of her and Damain dancing at Addy's wedding. Some of you may recall that. Damian is in her class. Hope he doesn;t mind.
Kaiden is missing Olivia. He is enjoying the attention, but I think he would go to school with her (and stay) if I would let him.
Love you all! So glad we can keep in touch this way. Unfortunatly life prevents us from getting together as often as we wish we could.

Steve, the entrance to the Treadway Drive looks nice!
Rita, It sounds like God was at work way ahead of us in working things out with mom, doesn't it! It sounds like God was busy setting the stage and getting people moved into position for the play to continue. NOW IF WE ALL CAN JUST GET ALONG!!!!!!!! Just kidding... I really wish I could be of more help to you. We will pray for God's will in this as well.

Looks good Steve!! You too Vesta :) As I said, We have changed Home Health and I am happy to report, so far, we are very pleased. For one thing, they did what they said they would! That's always a good start. I was very impressed with Physical Therapy. The therapist walked Mommy a few steps and she noticed that one leg was shorter than the other one, thus the reason for her leaning so much. I told Teresa today, that very thing. The L one (the one she broke) is longer than the other one because it is new. The other one is worn, of course, and so it is shorter. She said that could be fixed with nothing more than a prosthesis in the form of a modified shoe! Just to demonstrate, we put a shoe on the R foot and none on the L, and you wouldn't believe the difference it made in her gait. Trish is going to make an appt for a fitting. The PT assistants that will be coming is none other than one of my neighbors who lives on the mountain and another lady who was our neighbor at Danese. Blain is good friends with the lady's dad who lives on the mountain and right after Mommy came to stay, he stopped one day and told me if I ever needed help with her to just call him and he would be here in 5 min. I didn't know his daughter was a PT assistant and I didn't know she worked for this agency. The Physical Therapist asked me if we were related to the Treadways from Rainelle. Turns out she worked on Lonnie! She said "only a little" though. He took it and "ran with it" she said. Anyway, I am looking forward to Mommy walking better and then it would take only one of us. Addy has committed to coming on Wed. after school since our new lady can't work Wed. evening or Sunday. Addy said she could come on Sunday if I needed her also. Mommy ate good today and was awake the biggest part of it. She laid down in the bed in the afternoon and took a good nap where she could stretch out. Mommy's BP is staying steady and we may have her BP meds straightened out. We had to start all over again with that. Talk to ya'll more tomorrow.
I hate to hear that about Tony Greene. Ruth, that's the couple I showed you on the Gaither Videos.
Trish, I'm sure glad you gave us instructions on how to Warsh. I was thinkin' about doin' some laundry until I read that! I think I'll put it off until.....
Mommy is doin' alot better today. That's not to say she is back to normal but better for sure. She is watching "The Little Rascals" videos. Vonda sent her the entire series made from 1929 - 1938, 23 hours of it!
We fired the other Home Health Agency...They just couldn't get their ducks in a row. The new one came out today and they seem to know what they're doing. One of the LPN's is Norma Hall, who cleaned for Mommy for awhile. I requested her.
Mommy is back to tryin' to get up and go somewhere! That's a good thing, we'll just have to keep a closer eye on her. Addy is coming up this evening and she came yesterday evening so she could help me after Teresa left.
As you all may or may not know, one person can not handle Mommy now. Teresa is coming from 7 - 3 and we have hired another lady to come from 3 - 8. She will start tomorrow evening. I don't know her personally, but I do know her daughter. She is our neighbor. She is probably around Blain's mom's age ? and has worked as a caregiver, also taking care of her own mother. She can lift and it would only be to get Mommy up to the potty and to bed.
I hope it works out. Will let you know.

Remembering Tony Greene
Tony Greene
I am saddened to bring you the news that Tony Greene of The Greenes passed away today around 4:30 p.m. at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina where he had been hospitalized since September 21. Please lift up in prayer his wife, TaRanda, his children, his mother, his brother, Tim and his sister, Kim.
Allow me to share a personal story - it was just three weeks ago that I unexpectedly encountered Tony and TaRanda at the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Beckley, West Virginia. They were heading to a concert date just north of there, then on to Kentucky the next night. We chatted briefly and as we departed, Tony hugged me and said, "I love you, Stan." It just didn't occur to me that would be the last time we would meet in this earthly life. We can rejoice in the midst of our sadness knowing that he is now with the Lord and has been made whole and suffers no more.
Below is the announcement of Tony's passing as it appeared on the Singing News magazine website:
Anthony Elden Greene, known to most Southern Gospel music fans as "Tony," passed away today, September 28th just before 4:30pm Eastern Time at the age of 41. Tony had been in Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., since September 21 due to several health complications. Tony is survived by wife, TaRanda, and their children, Isabella (age 6) and Jocelyn (age 2). He is also survived by his brother Tim, sister Kim Greene Hopper, and his mother, Carolyn Greene, and several nieces.
The son of (the late) Everette and Carolyn Greene, Tony was born in Boone, N.C., on October 17, 1968, the youngest of three children. By the early 1980s, Tony and his siblings were singing Southern Gospel music professionally as The Greenes, garnering several No. 1 songs and appearing on the nation's leading concerts.
In addition to being noted as a gifted lead vocalist, Tony has also been included in the list of leading concert promoters of Southern Gospel music. Throughout the years, Tony's promotions encompassed dozens of states, while providing Christian music in not only churches and auditoriums, but also aboard cruises, bus tours and more. He was also a key factor of the success of the long-running Gospel Singing Jubilee multi-day concert held in Boone, N.C., for almost 30 years.
Tony married the former TaRanda Kiser on February 13, 2001. Together, they continued the ministry of the Greenes, while also being involved in several other ventures that include work with Abraham Productions (concert promotions featuring the Singing In The Sun in Myrtle Beach, S.C., the Gatlinburg Gathering in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and other locations), and the Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
On August 25, 2009, Tony underwent a successful kidney transplant, with TaRanda providing the donor kidney. He returned to traveling within a month and though he encountered some minor health difficulties, he continued with the Greenes until additional health issues forced his hospitalization on September 21, 2010.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
Thank you for your prayers and concerns for Tony and his family through this most difficult time. I know you will continue to remember the family in the days to come.
God bless,
Stan

"Warshing" Clothes Recipe.........
Never thought of a "washer" in this light before. What a blessing!
"Warshing Clothes Recipe" -- imagine having a recipe for this ! ! !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Years ago a Bisbee grandmother gave the new bride the following recipe:
this is an exact copy as written and found in an old scrapbook -
with spelling errors and all.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARSHING CLOTHES
Build fire in backyard to heat kettle of rain water. Set tubs so smoke wont blow in eyes if wind is pert. Shave one hole cake of lie soap in boilin water.
Sort things, make 3 piles
1 pile white,
1 pile colored,
1 pile work britches and rags.
To make starch, stir flour in cool water to smooth, then thin down with boiling water.
Take white things, rub dirty spots on board, scrub hard, and boil, then rub colored don't boil just wrench and starch.
Take things out of kettle with broom stick handle, then wrench, and starch.
Hang old rags on fence.
Spread tea towels on grass.
Pore wrench water in flower bed. Scrub porch with hot soapy water.
Turn tubs upside down.
Go put on clean dress, smooth hair with hair combs.. Brew cup of tea, sit and rock a spell and count your blessings.
================================================
Paste this over your washer and dryer Next time when you think things are bleak, read it again, kiss that washing machine and dryer, and give thanks.. First thing each morning you should run and hug your washer and dryer, also your toilet---those two-holers used to get mighty cold!

Good Mornin' All
Just wanted to give you an update of sorts. Ruth has gone back home after staying from the 19th to the 28th. Mommy was doing really good after coming home from GVMC, we could tell that she was happy to be home and perked back up. However, from friday night until Saturday morning, something happened (Probably another mini stroke). Mommy couldn't swallow like she was and she had just changed somewhat. Not talking much at all. Just a word here and there, mostly in the morning.
Last night, she slept pretty good. It was the first time I had slept with her in over a week, but she woke up for a spell, I was already awake and couldn't sleep, but when I would turn her, she can't turn herself completely, she would laugh. She ate really good this morning. Swallowed alot better, almost like before, and drank her water. She is sleeping through "Funniest Home Videos" The nurse is here, I'll blog more later.

Happy Birthday Andy! Man, you're getting old! (haha, no reply needed)
Tanner, you're girlfriend is adorable. How long have you been dating?
Paul and I are finishing our summer project this week, our deck. Steve came over yesterday morning and helped put the roof on. I will try to post some pictures later. And does anybody know where I could find a papason chair? I can't even get them at the furniture store.
Love yall,
Addy
