Yes, the wedding was beautiful today and so was the weather. Andy and Kim, congratulations and enjoy all the newness to come. We had a good time and it was nice to see everyone again. Teresa you did a good job putting everything together and you looked beautiful as well, even while you were dancing :) Steve, you looked nice too!! (and Kelsey, you did too!!)

Lonnie and crew, we missed you guys. It looks like you are getting along better by each day, that's wonderful. Mark has threatened to send me up there to recuperate with you lol. Friday night we came home from mom and dad's and as I was walking in the grass from the vehicle to the apartment, I stepped in a rut/hole and sprained my ankle. Mark said he would have to send me to Lonnie's so I could use his crutches when he wasn't and we could heal together :) Since then I have been walking on the sidewalk and will remain to do so! Marcia, we're still waiting on a picture of the ramp :p

This was before Kadien's stomach started knawing in his backbone from hunger:) Thanks for the snacks, Clara!

What a beautiful wedding. Andy and Kim are very blessed to have one another.

Michelle's Prayer for Daddy

Michelle related this experience from Germany, Trish and Rita please make sure Mommy understands it.
"Joe was gone to the field on his pre-deployment workup. It was a couple of days before Grandpa died, maybe March 15 or March 16 and I went to bed at the normal time. Suddenly in the middle of the night I was awakened and my room was all lit up as if I had the lights on. At first I was afraid, but then I felt the Spirit of God. It became very dreamlike and peaceful. I immediately felt impressed to pray for Grandpa and the overwhelming urge was to pray that all doubt would be removed. I began to speak to the doubt to leave, and then began to pray in tongues as well as in my own understanding. After I had prayed I felt a peace come over me and I was able to go back to sleep. Of course the light was gone from my bedroom. As a result of this, nothing you can say will make me believe that Grandpa did not receive the Holy Ghost before he died. I believe I was urged to pray specifically for him and specifically that all doubt would be removed from his mind. I believe that doubt left him and that is why the light faded from my room and I was able to go back to sleep." (Michelle’s time is 5 or 6 hours ahead of West Virginia time so it may well have been 8 or 9 p.m. at Daddy’s house.)

Lonnie said to tell everyone he was looking forward to coming to the wedding but he is not up to the trip. Give Andy and Kim our congratulations .

Bobby, Lonnie said he will be the Bionic Man forget Superman. He has enough metal to be the 6 million dollar man.

Vonda, I agree that Lonnie is a lot like Ralph. They have a talent to make things work and many people only wish they had the same skills. But don't tell Lonnie that I said he has a skill of knowledge, he head will swell. Lonnie said his granddad was like that too. He hopes he passes it to Shawn, I think he already has.
Lonnie , I am proud of you for getting up and about , but just be very care full, we do not want any set backs.Glad you are eating good , and feeling better, if you behaves I'll hold off on the rolling pin.And yes, Bobbie he does remind us of Dad, and thats good with his determination he'll be ok with all the prayers that are going up on his behalf.for him and you too Marsha, you will be needing them LOL
Glad you are out in the sunshine, Lonnie. Your legs are much too white! Now is the time to get a tan. When the casts come off, you can spray paint some tan on those patches.
Marcia was talking about all the things you want to do and are "studying" about the best way to go about getting them done. You are just like your Dad in that respect. If he thought about it long enough, he would come up with a solution. My hat is off to ya'! You will figure it out. But be careful, you're not superman yet!
We are looking forward to the wedding tomorrow. Corey looked mighty handsome in his tux. Oh, I'm sorry this is not about him! It's about Andy and Kim! They will make a snazzy looking couple too! I'm proud of them and believe that marriage is still the best way to go! God's plans are always the best laid plans!!! I love you and I'm very proud of you Lonnie. We're praying for your speedy recovery as well.
Vonda, Lonnie said to tell everyone hi. I say send me the rolling pins. He was using caution while on the 4 wheeler BUT that is not the point. It made him tired. He said he has had the best day today. He ate well today. He is doing well today.

Lonnie will be back here soon..it's inevitable.

I nominate Lonnie for a Purple Heart, that's my imput!

Hey, Marsha I have a couple of rolling pins if you need them to keep Lonnie in line, looks like you might need them, to keep him from hurting his self more LOL.

He couldn't make it on the big 4 wheeler so he did the small. Needless to say I wasn't happy, one word SPLEEN.

David that is so neat to know about the tree planted in daddys name. I don't think there is anything he would have liked better than to plant a tree. We have trees to plant in his honor as well. Emily and Zac bought them. A weeping willow and an apple tree. With everything blooming it is easy to think of him everytime I look out the door. Me and Emma met mommy and Rita at Alta for lunch after she had her hair done everything was yummy!! I am trying to hey Emma to take a nap but that's just not happening. We are gonna go watch Jacob practice some baseball here in a bit. Lonnie when the grass gets ready to mow there and around the pond just put on the blog your having a party but everyone needs to bring their lawn mower and weed whackers! Hope you are feeling better today and no more sneezing!!
David , tell Michelle , that is so neat and thought full of her to have a tree planted there in Daddy's name , I think it's great.Rita or Trish, don't forget to tell mommy about the tree.I bet she will love the idea.

Michelle and the girls now live in Vilseck, Germany, since her husband Joe is stationed there. She was recently given the opportunity to plant a tree there in Daddy’s name near the Dagestein Castle which is located behind her apartment complex. The castle was first built in about 800-900 A.D. but was damaged several times during the 30-year war and by a fire that nearly destroyed it. As she walks Toria and Aleya to school each day, she often passes a farmer named Herr Hammer (best spelling she can come up with) who lives down the street. Michelle said, “I was talking to him about planting a tree in honor of grandpa. I told him grandpa’s mom was named Buzzard. He told me Buzzard was a very old and honorable name in Germany. A couple of days later the farmer told me his brothers keep the castle and castle grounds and they were planting a row of trees in the reclaimed land that used to be a moat around the castle. He sent me to his brothers who were just planting this row of trees in the picture. When they got to the last tree, they asked me to plant it (the conifer on the far end of the line). So grandpa has a tree planted in his honor in Germany and we will get to watch it grow while we are here. I could not get back in to get a closer picture. It had been raining, and since that land is reclaimed from the old moat, it is quite boggy when it rains a lot. That is the reason they were planting the trees, so they will soak up a lot of the water.” Pretty neat that Daddy has a tree planted in his honor in a foreign country from which some of his relatives came to America.
This is one view of Dagestein Castle and the tree is planted out of sight just to the left.

The picture is of the manual w/c that was supplied with the bed and other things. They had to modify a pronto scooter so Lonnie could elevate his legs while in the scooter. They cut the leg rest off a manual w/c and mounted them to the electric scooter. Lonnie hasn't used the manual w/c since they got leg rest on the scooter. I think he might be afraid I will dump him out of the manual w/c when trying to push him in the yard. The first time we attempted to go up the ramp the wheel on the manual w/c dug into the yard and he almost fell out of the w/c. So I think there might be a little fear with me behind the wheel. Truthfully, the scooter gives him as much of his independance back as possible. He usually takes a nap around 1100am. He goes to bed early but is up through out the night on and off. Then he still wakes up every morning early, so by 1100 he is exhausted. He is already trying to figure out how he can get on the 4 wheeler so we can ride in the back field. He is also thinking about how to get in the truck so we can go to job sites. Before long they will have made alot of modification to something, I'm sure of that. He is constantly thinking about how to make things better, since he is w/c confined for 8 weeks (unless alot changes on our visits to the doctors). He read the blog today while I took Ariel to school. He said he was looking at pictures also. So he is starting to read what you say. I hope to get him to read the blog every am.
Well, I'll be honest, when I read the word "modified" we were expecting a picture of a diesel engine on a wheelchair with a lift kit, a back hoe, and a blade on the front! I guess that's some imagination I have! But anyway, it's so good to see you doing so well Lonnie! We've been praying for you guys. And maybe we could get a side car put on for Marcia? She shouldn't have to walk everywhere!

Love you,
Paul and Addy
Hi Lonnie and Marcia, I hope everyone is getting used to the new routines. Lonnie, I don't think you can move much dirt with the new shovel you're holding. We are praying that you have a complete and swift recovery. Did I read it correct that therapy starts today and you may be 6 to 8 weeks in the recovery process.

Turkey season starts in Ky this weekend. How about WV. Maybe you can get in some turkey hunting while you recover :). Take a picture of the ramp Marcia and post it so we can see the handy work of those who built it.
Remember we are praying for you and Marcia and don't forget to thank the Lord for His many blessings.
Lonnie,
Looks like you are ready to roll with that wheelchair. The shovel adds a nice touch. Now if you could just get some hydraulics on that shovel and some electronic controls that you could operate with one hand, hey you would be back at work in no time! :) Listen to Marcia. At least for 6 or 8 weeks she is the boss, you are the patient. Do that and she will have you back to full speed before you know it. We're praying for all the bones and surgeries to heal well. Take care of yourself.
Lonnie, I like that modified wheel chair ,you look like you are ready for your movie shot,So glad you are doing better , Just don't over do it and listen to Marsha, so you will heal faster, David Said to tell you he is thinking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery. The kids enjoy seeing your pictures on the blog ,and they couldn't get over your truck, the way it looked.Marsha, keep the pictures coming, I save every one . yo both are in my prayers daily.
Uh oh! Shawn modified...is anyone thinking Tim Taylor? Soon that Wheelchair will have MORE POWER! Hope you are felling well today Lonnie! We Love you!

We took Pizza up and had supper with Lonnie, Marcia and Ariel this evening. He maneuvers very well! He had a little battery life left on his wheel chair after having been in it all day. I imagine he will have it going down Sewell Mountain before lone or as soon as he gets an extended battery pack. Marcia we are praying for you as well. LOL
Night all,

Lonnie said to tell everyone he was ready to go back to work, he has his shovel. This is also one of his hot rod rides for the next 2 months.

Well I haven't done to well since I've been home. Lonnie is doing fairly well, it is very hard on him trying to do anything. He gets exhausted easily, which he did not expect. His ribs have been bothering him today, he had been doing really well until he sneezed. Physical therapy has started today. We have been out on the electric scooter today. Shawn modified the scooter for him so he could raise his legs. Lonnie does real well until 1100 then he is exhausted. He really enjoys company. He has had a lot of people up since we got home. He is tired when they leave but if they make him laugh he has a good time. Like Janet said he is still very emotional when he talks about all his cards and what everyone has done for him. I think he was suprised. He gets a kick out of some of the blogs. I try to read them to him but since we have been home I haven't even been on the computer. His grafts look good, bones appear to be healing , no pain from anything except his ribs at the present. As you can imagine, he hates taking orders from me about what not to do. He usually does fairly good. He has a hospital bed so he can get out of bed easier, I do daily dressing changes to his right lower leg to change the graft site. He is also taking an injection daily to help reduce the chances for a blood clot. Keep him in your prayers, now the healing will be the hard part.

I went by Lonnie's this afternoon. He seemed in high spirits. Apparently he took a spin in his wheelchair earlier in the day and was going back out after we left. He basically has one arm that he does everything with. He was very touched by the porch that was built, the wheelchairs that were donated, and all of the cards and calls. Ariel said that they had 31 messages when they got home. I got the feeling that his appetite wasn't much. (And no it was not my cooking! ) Kaiden and Lonnie talked tractors and bulldozers for a while. Lonnie reassured Kaiden that the escavator would be fixed:)

Looking forward to seeing everyone over the weekend! Love you~ Janet
I talked to Rita today and her and Gma had been up to visit I think.

Great day, Lonnie is finally coming home ,
Emily, I'm sure Teresa would love to have some coffee.

You tell Vivian that Lonnie is just waiting on his ambulance ride home. I think he is pretty excited now, at first he was apprehensive, which was to be expected. I agree with you Ruth, From my experience I just didn't think he sowed too well, Just kidding. Alright , I just wanted everyone know they can call us @ HOME tonight.
Marcia: The way people are helping Lonnie just goes to prove that the Bible is true! It says that you reap what you sow. Lonnie (like Daddy and Mommy) has always helped (planted good deeds) everyone who knows him and he is now reaping what he has sown. And the Bible says that it will be given back to him pressed down, shaken together and running over through the hands of men. Glad to hear he is coming home and that Mommy's blood pressure is down!
Glad grandma got a good report. Good to hear that Lonnie is coming home~ seemed in very high spirits when I talked to him last night:) Steve~ if you need help picking up apples when the time comes, I know plenty of people with experience. My kids are looking forward to coming to the wedding as are we. I'll call you for directions to the church. Love to all!

As i was tucking mommy in bed for the night she said now if lonnie comes u
wake me up!
Lonnie will be getting out of the hospital tomorrow. He has been released by all his doctors, we will leave sometime tomorrow. He will have to leave by ambulance. The social worker is arranging all his medical equipment to be brought home tomorrow. I want to let everyone know what his buddy did for him. He bought lumber and built a ramp into the top of our house. Shawn helped him and I'm not sure who all helped. I know alot of people are reading the blog now so to anyone who helped with the ramp, I want you to know Lonnie was very touched and we both really appreciated it. He has talked about how everyone has helped. Another buddy has loaned him an electric w/c which reclines to use as long as he needs it. Sue has loaned us a manual w/c if needed. Lonnie seems amased at how everyone has called and helped without anyone asking. He does appreciate everyone. Well everything is in line to leave tomorrow, it will be nice to be home. He has told everyone the the Lord was riding with him and he has been speaking freely about how blessed he is.
Mom, I am glad to hear you got a real good health report, and that you are going to be in training NOW, for a little pt, maybe you and Lonnie will have some stories to tell each other, How about that Lonnie, Glad you are on the up side too. Long road ahead ,but You'll come through with flying color's I know. you and Mommy can have a race.
Marsha you will need your boxing gloves before it's over, believe me .LOL
Glad Grandma got a good report!

Zac had an interview with Starbucks last week. It's the only place that has called him back of the 10 or so places he has applied. I asked Grandma to pray for him a couple of weeks ago and she has been praying ever since. Well the lady left him a voicemail yesterday saying she was calling for a follow up. He called her back this morning and he got the job!! He starts this Thursday. We told Grandma and she said, "That's the miracle I've been praying for!" and I'm sooooo glad she was! He will get BENEFITS starting in 3 months! I'm so excited to go to the dentist and the eye doctor again.

By the way, I believe we get a free pound of coffee a week. We don't drink coffee, so if any of you want some let me know. I'll start a coffee list and just give it out as we get it!
I sure am glad there are some young bloggers out there! I can add them as well if they want to share anything with the family. Steve you are right I couldn't tell it had been mowed but it sure looked good. The flower beds looked as if you had cleaned them all out. We went up today to get the rest of the dishes that needed returned and mommy went through several drawee and got a ton of stuff mostly sentimental doo dads that daddy had bought her. She found aprons and pictures. Teresa I am sorry to say but she even wanted the picture of grandma and grandpa buzzard! She didn't think much of her but I do remember her saying what a sweet and kind man he was. So I have a trunk full of pictures to hang up on her wall. She does like looking at her picture books and daddy had a whole set of picture books(small) with nothing but his flowers and the trees and yard so I have them here for her to look at and She does like that. Yesterday while sitting on the porch we contemplated which trees were coming down. Kinda figured it would be most to all. Daddy didn't seem to think the apples would hit this year so steve you might be in luck. Did you have any luck at the job place when you were here? Physical therapy is going to start working with mommy 2 days a week for a month and show us what we need to learn as well as far as walking and keeping herbfrom falling. He seems to think her right hip is higher than the leftcausing her foot to turn inward. And where before she acknowledged it and corrected it herself she just forgets now. But there are several things he has to work on for her. She was excited and said she would go ahead and practice. She took off through the house just a gettin it. Lonnie maybe that's whereyou get your determination from. Although daddy often called it stubborness. Either way it will serve you well while recuperating! Gotta run. Frying chicken. Oh mommys weight stayed the same and her blood pressure was excellent!
Good to hear Lonnie is recovering, even if it is slow.

Trish, you probably couldn't tell it but I mowed the high grass the other day. I also mowed the sage grass out on the steep hill too. I can't make it up this weekend because of the wedding, but I'm sure by the following weekend it will all need mowed. I've already mowed mine a couple times at home and will be mowing today. I think I miss the snow!!!

Updates

Thank you Trish for the update on Grandma. Very glad to hear that her blood pressure is staying down. Marsha thank you for the Lonnie updates. The girls are on the blog every minute they get trying to see what is happening with everyone. We hope to see everyone in June if I can get transport figured out for Vonda to get to camp and back. We are all doing good here. Happy Belated aniversary Paul and Addy! Vonda went back to school this morning. It is pretty quiet now.Vesta is out in the garage tinkering with her daddy.
One of the Trauma doctors just came in and said that they will be coming to do the dressing on the grafts today. They are unsure what time but he probable won't be d/c for a couple of days. He has three trauma doctors so even if one will d/c him, he must be d/c by all the others. We well let you know something definite.
Lonnie said to tell everyone they are suppose to come to take out all his drains today but because they are so busy he is not sure when that will be. He is now on no pain medicine except motrin. He has something stronger but is not taking it. His only pain continues to be the rib area. He said since they took him off all pain med his ribs will not let him get comfortable at night to rest too well He naps frequently through out the day. It is very busy here they say they are in their trauma season now. There were at least 5 people brought in by helicopter yeaterday and 9 admissions to the floor. If we get out today it will not be till late. He may have to go home by ambulance also. We have 2 friends going to give him scooter or electric w/c to use. It will make him more mobile which will be better.
Too funny Addy! did you happen to see David and Susan there? they went and stopped back by the house on saturday night to practice singing. Mommy and Rita had just come from church so I fixed Mommy a bite to eat and asked her if she wanted to go to bed or stay up and listen to us sing. She said "If there is gonna be singing, I want to be listening" David and I were practicing Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone, Mommy twisted her face up and said they took a good song and messed it up. Doesn't that sound like something Daddy would say. LOL So after we sang it that way, we had to go back and sing Amazing Grace the RIGHT way for her. We went to church Sunday morning and then after lunch, Emily and I took Mommy to her house to see all of the flowers and trees in bloom. Everything is budding and blooming. Daddy would be happy. I told Mommy it looked like Steve had uncovered all the little sprouts so they could stick their heads out. She wanted to sit on the porch and look but didn't want to go in the house. The Mama kitty has moved her kittens to the garage so we didn't get to see them but we could hear them. Tom Cat was there for an appearance too. We stayed for about thirty minutes then she got up and said she wanted to look in the tater house. After that she was ready to go. When we turned into her road where Kaye Martin used to live she said I don't think this is the right way to my house. And she continued to dispute the road I was taking until I showed her the road where Goldie and DAve used to live. I told her if it was pretty we would ride up today, look around. She seems to be content to do that. She got chilly while we were there and I pulled one of Daddys old blue jackets out of the closet, pretty sure its the one he wore every day while he was sick. She liked that and she wanted to wear it home. We got about a forty minute nap then we went to church again at 3 for a deacon ordination service at our church. We plan on attending the luncheon at our church at noon today if the nurse comes and goes by then. Hopefully we are going by to visit Vera afterwards. Blood pressure has been good for her all weekend so I think that part is finally licked. Although I think from the time of Daddys funeral til now she has had another mini stroke. Her speech is so much harder to come and her balance and ambulation is not so great. Also I have noticed the way she holds her hands are similar to when she had her previous strokes. But hopefully Physical Therapy should start working with her soon and showing us some strengthening exercises to do for both her legs and hands.
Love to all,
Trish

Paul and I will be taking donations for Janet's birthday gift this year. We found this at the Auto Fair this weekend. It's a car/boat. She could just drive it right out into the pond, not have to worry about mascara running or mud in her hair. I think this would be a wise investment for the Treadway family in the years to come (especially if Janet and Matthew have any more kids). haha

Hey Paul & Addy, Happy ONE year!!!! Let us know when you get to FOUR!!(Poor Paul) Since only 3 days seperate our anniversaries we should just reserve the weekend of the 8th-10th next year and have a big party!!! I guess we could let Andy & Kim share in the fun as well since theirs will only be a week away.
Hi from the hospital, I've tried to get Lonnie to punch on this computer, he refuses and it takes me forever. He hasn't rested as well the last 2 nights. I had been laying in bed with him at night, he said it made him sleep better. For the past 2 nights I haven't laid down with him because of all of his drainage tubes. So tonight we will have to see. He wanted me to tell everyone that he told his plastic surgeon to do a good job on his legs because he may want to be a male dancer. He is wanting up to a w/c but since PT and OT haven't seen him yet, he will have to wait. I'm looking at Tuesday for a possible d/c. There are too many people he will have to see on Monday and I doubt if he will be able to get it all done in one day. I know he doesn't want to come home too soon, and he is not rushing to be d/c. So we will see what Monday brings.
He is still doing good. He has been tired and tires very easily. He is now napping.
Thanks for the anniversary wishes everybody! Paul and I went to Charlotte for the AutoFair Friday and we came home last night. There was every bit of 3,000+ cars there, plus a ton of vendors selling just about anything. We had a great time.
Lonnie, we are so glad to hear that you are doing so much better. You look great, and I'm sure your legs will be back to dancing in no time! We can really praise God that he took such good care of you!
And as always Marcia, we are praying for you and Lonnie's speedy recovery! haha

Love to all,
Paul and Addy
Hi Addy and Paul, Happy Anniversary, Hope you have many more.
Love and Prayers
Happy Ann. Paul And Addy, Hope you have a beautiful Day.
Lonnie you sure look like you are enjoying being pampered there, Lol Glad you are on the up side. Just stay positive,
Happy Anniversary Paul and Addy!
Hey Lonnie,
Just checking in to tell you that you had better enjoy this down time because Marcia is going to have a huge to-do list by the time you get back on those feet. Matthew saw your truck at Larry's. HE was surprised at how bad it was, I think. He hadn't seent he pictures on here yet. Hope you have a good day and we are still waiting on a blog from you:) Love ya!

Janet
We visited him yesterday and I must say his spirit is up! Anybody who could tell the docs to "be careful with those legs, I am a pole dancer!" Is definitely looking on the brighter side :) We love you and are praying for you Lonnie. We are praying for you too Marsha! You're gonna need it!
Monica sounds like you and mark are doing everything right! Love the picture after the applebutter!
