mom

Good Morning all,
Just a quick note to let you all know how Mom and Dad are doing.
Ruth came back in this week to stay.  Steve and Teresa came up on Thursday night and stayed Friday.  Bobbie came Friday night and is staying til Sunday.  Ruth is going home on Sunday also.
Mommy is still extremely sore and the pain medicine is making her nauseated so she gets an anti-nausea medicine at the same time she gets a pain pill and that seems to control it.  Her appetite isn't the greatest but she is eating, not a lot, but then again, thats why she weighs 120 pounds!
It is hard for her to get up and down from sitting and especially laying.  Still getting up and down SEVERAL times during the night to use the bathroom.  Daddy seems to be doing good though.  His appetitie has improved, heart rate and blood pressure seem to be doing well.  Hopefully, I plan on taking mommy back to the doctor this week for a recheck, just to make sure all is good.
They both enjoy the phone calls, emails, snail mail...whatever.  And most of all the prayers.
Their anniversary is Friday...69 years!  David, they got your card the other day when I was there.
Will keep you all posted.
Hope all is well with each of you!
Trish

I graduated with C. E. Stroud. At graduation, when he walked across the stage and they called his name (Clarence Edgar Stroud III), the class hee hawed because very few people knew his real name. I can understand why he shortened it. He was a nice guy in school and it is very sad.
Monica,

One of the ladies I work with had an interesting evening yesterday and I thought I would share it with you. Her 3 year old daughter cut her hair and she said that's one milestone in a girls' life she could have done without. And then I thought, I remember doing that. And I thought, Monica and Mark have so much to look forward to! Tell him there's so much more that will come before he needs a shotgun!

My "honey bees"

Li'l punkin'

According to the family he was shot in the chest and head at about 15 feet. Apparently they had a cabin on the land behind the slaughter house. It wasn't directly behind the slaughter house but way back on the land.
yeah, i read in the paper once in the head and once in the chest.
I know that he was found after 5:00 pm. He was shot twice, I think once was in the chest, and it was from 25-30 feet away.
I don't think that information was correct, although it is being investigated as a homicide.

It was CE Stroud. Meggan said they found him behind the slaughter house with 2 shots to the head.
Yeah, Randy worked with him, too. They called him C.E. but I can't remember his last name.
Congratulations! Nothing like a baby girl! I am so excited for you! I like Madea! She takes a good picture.

Addy, who was that? Randy's neighbor?
Hey Everybody,

I have a prayer request. My father-in-law's neighbor was found in the woods yesterday evening, he had been shot. As of last night, I'm not sure if he shot himself or if someone else shot him but they were pretty sure it was an accident either way. He went squirrel hunting and never came home. There are a lot of other circumstances surrounding this family. Keep them in your prayers.

Yeah!! Congratulations Mama and Papaw Slaughter on your granddaughter, and of course, Mommy and Daddy!!! I was with Mommy and Daddy when they got the email and I had Daddy read it to Mommy. They were both smiling from ear to ear!! Mommy did really good getting up to the bathroom today. Didn't eat much but she drinks the Ensure with no problem. She's awfully sore and if she moves a certain way, you can tell she is really in pain. She knows when her next pain pill is due and when she knew that I was going home and Trish was coming, she made sure that I told Trish when she could have her next pain pill!! Addy, Grandpa loved your banana pudding but Grandma didn't feel like eating any. She did, however, eat Zac and Emily's potato soup.
congrats!!
Congrats Mark and Monica, On your Baby Girl, That is just Awesome.
Yeah, Monica and Mark!!! IT'S A GIRL!!!! So, does she have a name yet????
YAY!!! CONGRATULATIONS! "Peanut" Madea Padgett...It's got a ring to it, don't ya think? hahahaha

And................it's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
still waiting...not so patiently!
So I really thought we'd know by now if "Peanut" was a boy or girl...I can't take the suspense!

Not sure if you all know yet, but Mommy fell yesterday evening at the house. Putting away marshmallows, just tripped on the floor. Fell on a metal stool and hurt her ribs. She went to church with rita and ruth and did fine there. shouted, prayed all the normal stuff. then when she came home, she was in so much pain she couldn't get out of the chair. we called the ambulanace and she went to the er. Nothing broken but definately bruised ribs. she is in a tremendous amount of pain and can't get up and down. she said out of 12 kids she has never had anything that hurt like this. we are taking turns staying because she can't get around. rita is there tonight and tomorrow, then I will stay tomorrow night and probably tuesday. If anyone is coming for a visit, let us know so we can let you take a turn:) We moved the green lift chair in the old living room where daddys chair is. its much more helpful for her to get up and down but still very painful. Lorie stayed with her today. The pain pills make her pretty loopy, so if you call and she doesn't have a clue...thats the reason.
Will keep you posted.
Love the pictures...keep them coming! Monica~I will be checking the e-mail and the blog every hour tomorrow. What time is your appointment? You had better not keep us in suspense! Love you and I hope that baby isn't shy tomorrow:)

There was a calf that got to sucking on Carrie's fingers and wouldn't stop. It sounded just like it was drinking from a bottle. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. :)

The Llama's were my favorite. They also had chickens, pigs, sheep and some cattle in the far fields. There was a stuffed Angus head there too, it was huge!

Yesterday our church went to Thornspring Farms for a festival day. The Grands got to enjoy the livestock, a corn maze, a hay ride and Grandma milked some fake utters!! :)
