Good morning
Trish,
I hope you get to feeling a bit better. We sure miss everyone. The kids are playing the Wii and having lots of fun today. I am posting more pictures from when we were down. I just want to say Vonda took them and I think she might be the photographer in my family. Love you all and may God bless this great joyous family
Rita, tanner took Gracie to the vet Yesterday. I was just thinking about the difference in a bloodhound and a toy poodle- about a hundred pounds and a lot of spit! Lol
I just thought I would share a couple dreams I had 2 nights in a row. The first one was me and mommy walking down by the mailbox arm in arm headed to where the garden Used to be. You could tell we were just talking and laughing but it was like I was to far away to hear.
Then last night I dreamed that I was visiting mommy I think in the hospital and Rita was there too. And we were walking mommy to the bathroom and she was still smiling. And she actually said in Jesus name. It was taking both of us to walk her But she was still praising God!
I am hoping tonight I get to dream and see her strolling the streets of gold with daddy on one side and Jesus on the other:).
I go for my second chemo today and unfortunately I am coming down with a cold. Coughing sneezing aching all over chilling but no fever. I am not sure if they will give it to me or not, Julie what do u think? I just want to get it over with especially because my insurance is paying 100% until Friday!

That Marleigh is one smart little gal! Zac, I saw your Mom & Dad in Beckley today. They didn't see me...they went in Starbucks. Addy and I are taking Hershey for her first Dr. visit tomorrow. She has to have shots. I left her here today and when I got home, she wrapped her entire body around my leg and wouldn't turn loose. She is the sweetest thing...a good little bed buddy too. She just lays right between me and Blain and doesn't make a sound. She's winnin' the big guy over!!

Just Marleigh and me today. We made potato soup with celery and carrots, flavored with some of the Christmas ham and Marleigh thinks that table eat'in is the way to go!
The sun is shining so bright today. It must be all that cleaned out air. I wonder if the big city people notice a difference in their breathing after a big snow.

Wow- I was way behind. I have been reading for a good while trying to catch up. I will post some pictures of Olivia and Kaiden at Christmas soon.
Bobbie~ I have no doubt that you and Marleigh will have a very special friendship.
Vonda & Vesta~ I love all those smiles!
Teresa~ Everyone knows that I am anti- pets and I actually thought (for a minute) about keeping that cute puppy. She is so precious and lovable. I bet she could win Steve over. I think Matthew was afraid of becoming attached to her so he just called her "that dog." Haha
Mary Kay order going out next week if anyone needs anything.
My memory of grandma's house at Christmas...
The annual week at grandma's after Christmas was in full swing. Monica, Amy, Colin, Timmy Wayne, Bobby Shawn and myself were all there. It was coming up on the end of the week and I remember grandma making her rounds with prayers and goodnight kisses. She had to get up to tell someone, (probably Monica) to "quit giggling." Anyway, as she was walking back to her bedroom, I was by the old bathroom speeling. I sat up and asked her if it would hurt her feelings if I went home. I missed my mommy. About a minute later, Timmy Wayne came through the hall saying he wanted to go home too. She just laughed and let us call. She was probably glad that we were finally leaving:) No, not grandma!
Love you all and stay warm!

Hey everyone, I had some catching up to do. I hadn't looked at the blog for a couple of days. Rita I'm glad you and Blain are feeling some better we will continue praying for you both. Your little Hershey is sooooo cute I would love to have a small inside dog but Steve doesn't want one.
I'm glad to hear that everyone had a great Christmas I love all the pictures of Marleigh and Vondas family.
It is nice to hear all the stories of Christmas. I remember Christmas with my dad and his family as being some of my greatest memories I love all the food and fellowship and although our family wasn't as large as this family it was great having everyone together. That is why I love being part of this family I love having a house full of family and friends and that is the greatest gift of all.
As far as our Christmas mom came up Friday and spent the weekend with us and we fixed a pot roast and Steve fixed a pan of cornbread and we have sat around all weekend watching tv and being lazy.
I'm going to try to get out to take mom home today, Steve said the road was pretty bad when he went into work today so we'll see how it goes.
I'll see you all on Saturday. Don't forget your white elephant gifts. Love you all!!!!
Shane, I hope you can find your car when you get back home. You picked a good time to go, but I don't know about getting home, with all the flights being canceled.

Blain just called back to tell me that he had made it to Meadow Bridge. He said it's bad. I don't even know how much snow we have, it is drifting really bad.
Hershey is pretty good as long as you are holding her, sleeping with her, carrying her around...Sadie likes her, she is just too little to play with. Sadie knows she is still top dog.
I didn't get any pics of Olivia and Kaiden over Christmas. We felt so bad, I just didn't think about it. I am feeling a little better but Blain isn't.

We would fix breakfast and it never failed mommy would always come in with her basket full of biscuits. THAT was my kids favorite gift lol. Before I learned to make good gravy she brought that too! A couple of times Steve and his family came Over too. I am so glad that i have those memories for my kids because since Jesse had his stroke he doesn't get around well. About the only place he does go is walmart and the doctor.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Once again mom made sure that the days were special and filled with love. I loved reading how she helped to make it that way for her siblings when they were younger. My poor kids had to wait until 4pm when Big Daddy got home to open presents. Needless to say it drove them crazy. Shawn got a Apple laptop and the girls got a Wii. They are all sooo happy. My big gift is getting a dental done on my little dog. We sure wish we were close enough to be with you all for the holidays. Mom was sad that she never got to spend a Christmas at home once she left it. I love that this blog keeps us near to one another when prayer is needed or you just need to appreciate that family is priceless.
Happy Birthday Paul! Wow, Tarin on one day and then Daniel and Paul the next day. That is very much like it was with Michael, (30 May) Mom, (31 May), Grandpa (Homer) 1 June and then me 2 days later on 3 June. Rita, Hershey is cute. I'm sure Devin would go nuts over her too. His (Sasha) is about that same size.
One of my memories about Christmas is that no matter how little we had in the way of presents we always seemed to have a brown paper bag and in that bag would be an apple, an orange, a few nuts of different kinds, some hard candy (just 3 or 4 pieces) and sometimes some soft candy shaped like orange slices. Sometimes that was the highlight of Christmas morning and sometimes it was a side dressing but I remember that being there most often, perhaps through the generosity of folks at the church. Maybe is was something Mom and Dad put together if that was all they could afford.
Love and miss you all and hope you have a wonderful New Year.

No, Monica, we don't have help. We are in the town, 14 military families in the middle of a German neighborhood. All have spouses deployed except one, who injured his shoulder when last deployed and he has to have surgery. But I guess we're tough enough, at least that is what we tell ourselves!! :)
And maybe building igloos would be fun.....LOL that would solve the problem of where to put all the snow.
We are past the halfway point in this deployment. Thank God.

Rita, Hershey is adorable :0 Is that Blain laying in the floor with her? What does your other dog think about her? Michelle, you sound like a workin' woman if there ever was one out there shoveling all that snow lol!! If I could be there I would help you :) Do you have men neighbors that help you with things when you need it?

And what does Sady think of Hershey? How do you keep up with her outside? They go out together? Marleigh was so tired by the time we got to presents I don't think she cared much. It was 5 in the evening! She got up in the morning about 9. Someone is going to have to clue her in that on Christmas, you get up at 5 a.m. for presents!! I think she liked the mashed potatoes/gravy and chocolate pudding torte better than presents. She was licking her lips and opening that little beak right on cue :) She beams and reaches for me when she sees/recognizes me and that is one of the greatest feeling in all of my 54 yrs. (Chalk another one up for Rita!) To my brothers and sisters, do you remember when Momma would make over our kids? It actually felt like she was making over us! She wasn't, but we felt that warm glow that they felt when she mad'em feel special. That is another thing that made my mother unique to me: the way she treated my children! That is what I want with Marleigh and me! That grandmotherly, bonding through the years type of thing! Yeah! I didn't have that with either of my grandmothers. My hat is off to you guys/That is one of the things that I see in my brothers and sisters with their grands! I see that specialness between you! That is going to be one of my promises for the new year! To fan the flame that Momma passed on to us! I hope my welcome to Marleigh always says "I'm so happy to see you, I'm so glad you came and I'll always be here for you." Sometimes I forget she is just across town!!!!!!!

We have a new addition to our family. She is really brown and sweet,
soooo...we named her Hershey. She won't get much bigger.
I loved reading about your Christmas memories. I don't remember much
early on, but I remember Ruth and Dan making our Christmas many
times...we would even load up the station wagon and go to their house
AND stay all night. I remember going to the last trailer they lived
in up Campbell's Creek...and then the house on the hill in
Charleston...close to the airport. I remember one Christmas they
bought either Daniel and Lonnie or Lonnie and Timmy,
dresspants...don't know why that stands out! I remember one Christmas
at Ruth's in Charleston and she had gotten a Litton Microwave
Oven...never seen one before and we thought that was like the
greatest thing since TV...probably was. And she got Corelle
dishes...she threw them on the floor to show us they wouldn't break.
Too cool.
Shane, I hope you got your snow boots by the door...Looks like you are
going to need them. The Weather channel is calling for 1-2 feet in
Boston. Go get your milk and bread early.

Hello, everyone!! Still snowing here. I shoveled more than a foot of snow on the driveway, even though I shoveled Friday morning. I am afraid I will be buff if this keeps up!!!! LOL.
Rita and Blaine, hope your anniversary was happy, sorry you are sick. Hope you get better soon.
Monica, love the pics of Marleigh. Funny about the bread. My monkey bread did that once, blew up and fell everywhere. But once I got them back on, they cooked very light and tasted fine. Just looked funky, which the kids thought was funny.
Trisha, funny about your mouse. Hope you don't have anymore. Hope you feel better with the chemo. Praying for you.
Emily, love your pictures. You are a natural. I didn't get to be around you much. The only thing that sticks out in my mind was when Janet was fixing her hair in your bathroom and you unscrewed the doorknob. Still one of my favorite memories!! Boy, was she yelling at you :)
Love the memories you are all sharing about secret Santa's and miracles created by giving what you had. My kids made me proud by choosing presents for orhanages in Poland; our base donates every year.

I made rolls today :) I let them rise at home and was taking them to mom's to bake them there. While I was getting them out of the car they started to fall so I tried to do a quick-grab and ended up slamming them up against the car. At that point they deflated and didn't look so hot. When we got inside mom set them up on top of the stove over the eye where the heat from the oven comes out. We were getting other things done and keeping an eye on the rolls as well. Within about 60 seconds (no joke, you can ask mom) one of the boys came through the kitchen and said, "what's wrong with the rolls?" We looked at them and it was like they were exploding. They were going over the side and falling off lol. Mom stuck them back on and we threw them in the oven. When we checked on the beans this is what we saw :p We went ahead and let them cook like that and they turned out great!! Luckily I had my camera with me so I ran to get it. Didn't want Addy to miss out on this lol!!!
Merry Christmas!!! Hope everyone had a great day with family and friends. Here are some pics of Marleigh's first Christmas :p These are pics of her opening her Elmo doll. When we were at the store last week I let her play with it and she loved it. She knows what giving kisses means :) As you can tell, when she got him unwrapped she tried to give him a kiss lol. We went to mom and dad's around 2 and had supper at 4. The boys' girlfriends came over and had supper with us. It has snowed pretty much all day but it was a fine snow. Still we have several inches and it is slick in spots. They are calling for more tonight so we'll see what morning holds. I hope we have church though. I went last Sunday but the two before that they cancelled all services due to weather. Seems like I haven't been in ages between that and work lol. Blain and Rita, hope you both get to feeling better quick. I'd hate for you to miss out playing in the snow/blizzard lol!!
Merry Christmas
As we started our day with the fresh falling snow, I began to cry. Not tears of sorrow, but rather tears of happiness and thankfulness.
I grew up in a large loving family myself. We always had a house full of family, extended family and friends, young and old. It brings such wonderful memories. My memories are cherished within my heart for eternity. Now my family has spred across this great nation of ours. I have without sucess, tried to bring everyone together for the holidays. This saddens me.
Now in the prime of my life I find myself in the beginning of a new life with Timmy and my new family. A life with promise, so wonderful and vast. I have now been not only accepted, but rather claimed as a member of the Treadway family by each and every one of you.
For this I am more thankful than I am able to put into words. This is a family with the most wonderful, loving hearts of any family I've ever known. I am truly blessed to be a part of it.
Over the past few years, Mommy Treadway whispered in my ear many times, she always said ( you know you are going to be my daughter in law ). She knew this. Now I know this. She told me ( you're one of my girls now ). What a wise woman, she knew this long before I ever thought it.
Also over the past few years, I had the pleasure of being present and part of the music in the family. I spent many happy hours listening and taping Mommy, Daddy, Timmy and everyone else that wanted to join in playing. Daddy always ended his song by slapping his knee and giving me a big smile.
The singing is also a memory to be admired, I not only got to enjoy it but to participate, this is all cherished memories in which I look forward to adding to as the years come before us. I am very blessed to have had the opportunity to become so close to such wonderful and loving people. You have made me know that I belong.
I have already accumilated many precious memories with my new family, the family that welcomed me unconditionally.
At this time I want to thank you one and all, for all your love, generosity and warmth. And mostly for just being you.

Now in the prime of my life I find myself in the beginning of a new life with Timmy and my new family. A life with promise, so wonderful and vast. I have now been not only accepted, but rather claimed as a member of the Treadway family by each and every one of you.
For this I am more thankful than I am able to put into words. This is a family with the most wonderful, loving hearts of any family I've ever known. I am truly blessed to be a part of it.
Over the past few years, Mommy Treadway whispered in my ear many times, she always said ( you know you are going to be my daughter in law ). She knew this. Now I know this. She told me ( you're one of my girls now ). What a wise woman, she knew this long before I ever thought it.
Also over the past few years, I had the pleasure of being present and part of the music in the family. I spent many happy hours listening and taping Mommy, Daddy, Timmy and everyone else that wanted to join in playing. Daddy always ended his song by slapping his knee and giving me a big smile.
The singing is also a memory to be admired, I not only got to enjoy it but to participate, this is all cherished memories in which I look forward to adding to as the years come before us. I am very blessed to have had the opportunity to become so close to such wonderful and loving people. You have made me know that I belong.
I have already accumilated many precious memories with my new family, the family that welcomed me unconditionally.
At this time I want to thank you one and all, for all your love, generosity and warmth. And mostly for just being you.

A cherished memory of mine is when I was around 10 or so. Vonda and David, you guys came in to visit in the summer, as you used to do and we got to hear about, (life in the city). To me, it could just have easily been, (life in another country).. Anyway, once after you guys had left, for whatever reason, I was in Mom and Dad's closet for some reason, digging around for Dad's mandolin, I think and guess what I stumbled upon.... Christmas presents....lots and lots of them.. Having been in the closet just a week or so earlier, to get Dad's mandolin, and (THERE WERE NO PRESENTS) it was then and only then that I realized that the "Santa" in our life...was none other than our WONDERFUL sister and brother in law...(VONDA and DAVID).. I never said anything to anyone..(that I can remember) because I thought I had stumbeled onto one of the most incredible secrets...Vonda, I love you and there isn't a Christmas that has passed, including this one that I don't think about that...God Bless you guys and I pray you have a wonderful , Merry Christmas.... Happy Anniversary to Blaine and Rita, Happy Birthday to Daniel and Tarin...Love you all , from Tim and Cindy....Merry Christmas to all.

We awoke to a white Christmas as well, an inch or two! Yeah! I'm glad you'uns snow is "up on Backus" and "across the pond." It's pretty to look at. . . so keep sending the pictures! Rita has your red-headed wood pecker been back? He was beautiful against the snow.
A Christmas memory that stands out in my mind is the one where daddy was out of work. I was 6,7,or 8 maybe (early 60's). I think we did have a tree, pushed over by the door; a little scraggly one. In my mind it is not even decorated. We went to bed knowing that there were no presents. Momma must have been brutally honest with us. Probably to lessen the disappointment. Anyway in the dead of night, Shelton and Gloria came from Ohio and brought PRESENTS for everyone. I remember a baby doll and a glass tea set. It was TOTAL surprise for everyone! He knew Daddy was out of work and it was Christmas and Daddy had all those kids! God has been gooood to us many times over hasn't He! Over the years I've tried to make Christmas about Jesus and not so much presents. But anyway you slice it, Jesus was God's gift to me and I am thankful again today! Momma gave us enough knowledge about Jesus to seek and find Him for ourselves. She was the first to tell us of Jesus and I would say as to all of her gifts she gave, this was her greatest gift to us!
Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 Amplified) Momma did and she is! Praise the Lord!
I pray His grace hover over your homes today and that you give Him that special place in your heart. Love you'll

Well we have a white Christmas, from all the old snow, and it's not to awfully cold. Rita sure hope you and Blain feel better. Trish I love the blog , and Michell it is so good to be able to talk with you on the blog, It makes it seem like you are not so far away. Love to hear of the miracles that God is doing in our family, but the greatest one of All is Christmas, and what he brought to the world, for us All.Hope everyone has a beautiful Christmas Day, I will be thinking of you all, and Love you all.

Happy Birthday Tarin! We definitley have a White Christmas. It stopped snowing for 1 day. I have the crud and Blain is getting it. We went out yesterday and was going to the movies, but I felt so bad...we just came home and went to bed. The kids are coming this evening around 6 so I've got some cooking to do. I don't know how to post under the blessing section. But this is a great gift to my family. In case you didn't know, my youngest, Aleya was born with only one kidney, and it was deformed and not functioning properly. Her heart stopped 3 times before she was a year old. She was on medication 4 times a day until almost age three, and they were looking at putting her on the transplant list. She turned 3 on Oct. 25, 2004. Nov. 2nd of that year, she was having the last full work-up before putting her on that list. The head radiologist was doing the tests, then he got two more doctors. They asked me if I had brought the right daughter, what kind of surgery had she had and when....the point is, I left the hospital that day with them telling me something had happened because her kidney was larger and functioning fine, which it had not been doing 3 months prior. I had all the old radiology films showing the difference.
In October of this year, she was hit by some kid in her class right over her left kidney. She had extreme pain and the teacher thought she blacked out for a minute. I had to take her to the hospital in a city 30 minutes away. They again repeated ultrasounds and tests with their head radiologist. He told me her kidney was unharmed because it is tucked under the ribs, unlike most people. She has a perfect, large, healthy kidney. He said it is also unusual because of her history, there should have been all kinds of scar tissue on the kidney. There is none. You can't even tell she ever had a diseased kidney. Aleya's pain must have been the ribs being bruised by the impact.
So how good is God? He gave her a new kidney Himself. Baffled the doctors, gave us the greatest gift this year. Much thanks to Him this year for miracle after miracle with her......

Ours is old snow so far but according to the weatherman we are getting a big one.
I am so glad you guys like the new pages. It seems much easier than putting it on the side. Afterall you can only put so much stuff there. Let me know what you all want, like is the font big enough, do you want it spaced more between, or numbered or...just whatever.
Monica I have prayed for you a day job ever since you were pregnant. Mommy and I both did. She said she wanted you to be home with Marleigh:) So I have faith that you will get that job...its just in Gods time and not ours, right?
We had our Candlelight service last night and it lasted an hour and a half! It usually only goes for 45 minutes at the latest but we had 66 people there! For those of you that don't think its a lot, trust me for Meadow Grove on Christmas Eve, thats a big crowd. We always have communion at the closing of our service and everyone walks up, thats what took the longest. Some were very old and have had surgery, most went as families-young and old-We all light candles after communion and of course little ones needed help. It was so nice just being in the quiet with nothing being said, just a quiet time with Jesus on the eve of his birthday. If you have never went to a candlelight you don't know what you are missing.
Then we went to Helen and Jesse's for our Christmas there. After we ate, Jacob read the Christmas story, then Helen had us all recall one of our favorite Christmas memories. I couldn't come up with a single one that stood out, they are all special. But now I think it would definately be the Christmas Eve services. Of course the kids memories were of their favorite "gifts" they had received:) But I imagine in time that will change..
I do remember one Christmas, I think me and Steve must've been like Jacobs age I guess. Anyway it was way up in the morning and we were expecting everyone there for Christmas and some were dragging in really late. Me and Steve of course slept in the room that is right off from the old bathroom and the tree was in the old living room. So when anyone came in we could get up sneak in and see what they put under the tree. So we got up and sneaked under the tree and found a gift with our names on it. We carefully untaped our gift, looked at it and taped it back! None the wiser!! Mine was a new scarf, tobogin and mittens-crocheted! I was so excited. Steve do you remember that? What about the rest of you? Do you have a favorite Christmas memory either when you were at home or after you left and came back? Share with us!
One last thing before I shut up. I know some of you have trouble viewing the blog on your mobile devices so I have changed a setting so that when you view the blog on your iPhone or blackberry or smartphone, it will be as a mobile app. Not all the flair and showy stuff which often doesn't load but all of the posts and pictures will be there.
Let me know if you like it or if you would rather view it the old way on your phone. It won't change the way you view the regular blog on your computer.
Well its almost 6am and no one is stirring...not even my Christmas Mouse!

Trish, thanks for the prayer/blessing page. I love it :) I posted two. I understand we put them on the home page and you will place them where they need to be? Happy Birthdays and Anniversary to everyone!! MERRY CHRISTMAS in a few hours :p I love Olivia's hair. I can't wait for Marleigh's to get that long.
Prayer blessing/Praise report: Yesterday morning when Marleigh woke up she was crying. She NEVER does this. I thought maybe she didn't get her sleep finished with so I took her down stairs and fed her breakfast. While she ate she was fine but after she finished she started crying again. Nothing Mark or I done seemed to be helping. She had no fever and I looked in her mouth, best I could, and didn't see any blisters or redness. I prayed over her and off to the Dr. we went. Turns out she has an ear infection (1st one). Her appt. was at 9, we went by the pharmacy to get her meds and got home a little after 10. I started her on her antibiotic and ear drops and then gave her the steroid around 12 and then fed her lunch. Keep in mind this whole time she is still crying and wanting to lay and roll around on me. I put her down for a nap after she had her lunch and she slept from 12-2:30. When she got up it was like a whole different world. She wasn't crying anymore. We went down stairs and she sat on my lap for a little bit. All the sudden she wanted down in the floor to play and has pretty much been back to normal ever since. Her little eyes are still a little droopy but she doesn't seem to be hurting anymore. PRAISE THE LORD!! He is the God that heals!!

Making Mommy proud!
OK, here is the prayer requests/blessings page! If you will notice right under the picture of mommy and daddy there are tabs. Home- which is the regular blog page, Prayer blessings- which is where we will put our prayer blessings and Prayer Requests- where we put our request. I am still trying to figure out the "page element". Just like you always do put your requests and blessings in a new post. I think it will show up on our "home" page. I will then take your requests and blessings and add them to the proper page. So whenever you open the blog if you just want to pray for whoever is on the list you just click on the tab at the top. Same goes for when you are praying or giving thanks for the Blessings.
So lets give this a whirl and see what OUR prayer can change! Mommy would be so proud of this, its like her Prayer Chain! She is still working!!

Bobbie, I had thought about a prayer list on the side before but just never put it into action, so I will get right on that. And I have our first request, Gregs mother, Elaine, was bitten by Amys cat and is in the hospital with a terrible infection. Haven't talked to her in a couple days so not sure how she is, but when I talked to her on Tuesday she said maybe 2 days or could be 5! I guess this is what the doctor was talking about when he said cats were the worst to carry infections. Amys cats never go out.
I hope you all are enjoying the Christmas season, my friend Tina Midkiff gave me a wonderful Christmas present yesterday. She called Tuesday and said she was off on Wednesday and wanted to come over and clean my house for me. We have been managing with the top layer stuff, the kids are vacuuming and loading and unloading the dishwasher. Danny keeps up with the laundry but I can't do bathrooms because of the fumes or mop the kitchen because my arms and legs are so weak. She was definately a Godsend! And I didn't even pray for that one, but he knew what I needed!
We have our candlelight service tonight and it is my favorite. I am going to sing A Baby Changes Everything and show this video during the service.

Happy Anniversary Rita and Blain!! Let us know how the movie is...I love the first 2. Hope your babies start feeling better!
I have been cleaning house and editing pictures...and that's about it. It's really nice to have this break from school. I definitely needed it. I've also been cooking in all this free time...
I'm actually a pretty decent cook when I want to be...problem is I don't usually want to be, lol.
Thanks for the Anniversary congrats. It's hard to believe it has been 28 years. You know, I was divorced and married in the same year...and people said it wouldn't last!!
Bobbie, we didn't get to go see tangled because the kids were sick especially Kaiden, but they had already planned to come up so there was no tellin' them that they couldn't. We laid around on the couch and watched TV and ate popcorn. Kaiden would feel good enough to play every now and then.
Blain and I are going out tomorrow (Blain needs to experience a little of the holiday rush) and we are going to see Little Fockers. We need a good laugh.
It hasn't quit snowing on the mountain. The main roads are clear but once you start up the mountain, It's a whole new world.

So dad is just now fixing that, huh?
I went to the phone this evening to call grandma because Kaiden has a fever of 102. and I have no idea why. He feels terrible. After I put the phone down once I realized what I had done, I was thinking about the times that I would call her when the kids were sick and I didn't know what to do. It could be 3 in the morning and I would say, "Grandma, sorry to wake you, but..." She would reply with, "oh honey, I wasn't sleeping. You just call anytime." I miss that!
Didn't mean to share a sad moment, but I know for a fact that you all have called her in the middle of the might more than once and I am sure you can recall those same words.

I took Olivia to school this morning and a little boy in her class bought her a present. He got up and gave it to her when she walked in. Her teacher said, "You might want to hang around for this." He put the necklace on her and the little ring. Then they gave each other a big hug. It was really sweet! I am just glad Matthew didn't drop her off at school- LOL:)
The buses are on standby today due to the ice that could be coming! Everyone drive carefully! Love ya

My next chemo is the wednesday after Christmas. Unfortunately my worst day after chemo seems to be the 3rd day. So I am not sure how much help or fun I will be on New Years but I will be there with my mask!

Trish's Candy Christmas
Not sure if you all know, but about a month ago I had a little mouse problem. Of course I did what I always do, posted it on facebook. I got all kinds of recommendations as to what to do, but I still didn't catch the mouse. Finally I gave up as he was being very elusive, it did seem like he liked Mommy's room though as he visited Greg and Clara there. He liked the trash can beside my bed, lots of little crumbs. My cat thought he was amusing and enjoyed "watching" him. So I bated my traps with peanut butter but I think he enjoyed finding crumbs on his own. So I kind of forgot about him, quit checking my traps, you know out of sight out of mind. Then one day I thought well I will see if he has been around. And there he was stuck to the trap and the bottom of the drawer. I think he had been there awhile. Some told me to get the traps that are "friendly" so I could relocate! I don't think so...I wanted him dead and all of his family and relatives. So now I have glue traps, friendly looking hotels that AREN'T! and of course the original MOUSE trap. Thank goodness I haven't seen anymore, but somehow I guess Santa is on Facebook because he read me this story at our Christmas Program at church on Sunday! Enjoy =)

Trish jumped from her bed to see what was the matter.

Trish was amazed to see a trash can filled with Reese wrappers
Skating across the floor.
Gathering her courage and not feeling so smarty,
She peered down inside to see a big mouse having a party.
Having him trapped, but not sure what to do next,
She called all her friends, and some got a text.
Amused at her plight, they offered goofy advice with much mirth,
But an empty candy wrapper was about all their plans were worth.
With no help to be found from sisters, friends, or nieces,
She was heard to exclaim, “I hate these Reese meeses to pieces.”
And with the captive she flew outside and with all of her might,
She flung mouse, can and all and yelled, “Merry Christmas, you vermin and to all a good night.”

Trish, I am glad you are feeling better. When do you have to have chemo again? Tell me again what the name/names are of what you are being healed of. Juanita Sweeney asked me the other day and I could not remember.
I will make ham biscuits. My second ham arrived yesterday, so I am good to go. I will let everyone know closer to time what else I will be bringing. Like you, though, I don't have my shopping done or anything wrapped. Some things just have to fall by the wayside sometimes as we attend to what is really important. I certainly hope the weather cooperates over New Year's.

Below is the obit for the gentleman who passed away at Dawson...The piece I sent from the paper. I found out Monday, that I worked with his sister-tn-law at the Red Cross. She texted me and told me that he had died and they didn't know what had happened. She said his best friend had done CPR and brought him back but he didn't last until the EMS arrived. His daughter is 15 and his son is 21. Terri said that her sister (Debra) and niece are having a really hard time and would we please pray for them. I told her we would. Thanks.

Randy Bernd McCoy, 40, of Prosperity, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Dawson, W.Va.
Born April 2, 1970 in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany, he was the son of Perry Franklin and Lura Mae McCoy.
Randy was a maintenance supervisor for the Federal Correction Institution. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.
Aside from his parents he is survived by his wife, Debra Bolen McCoy; son, Petty Officer 3rd Class Joshua McCoy and wife Deanna of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Cassidy McCoy of Prosperity; brothers, Perry McCoy and wife Vanessa of San Diego, Calif. and Mike McCoy and wife Sheri of Matthews, N.C., best friend, Ray Moles and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 1 to 3 p.m. with a service starting at 3 p.m. in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.

Ruth why don't you do the ham biscuits since you have the ham and I will do chicken strips! Sounds good! I still don't have all of my shopping done and don't know if I will get it done or not. I am getting on the average of 2 sympathy cards a day. Leroy Crane sent one and said that all of us children had been an inspiration to him. Also got one from Betty Shafer, Karen and Tom Patterson, Dr. Anderson and her nurse Kim. I got 2 from Hospice and several just from folks here in the community or from church. Billy Ann Sanford called and said she always thought our family was like an extended family to her! But her favorites were me and Lonnie! ha ha There are many others and mommy and daddy are still receiving christmas cards!
Rita, I also received a check from Paul Raines, the owner of WEstern Auto. Bobbie Shawn brought it to Danny this morning for the building fund. What am I to do with it. I have his address and I will email it to you. It was for 50$.
Teresa, I have tons of christmas wrapping to do if you get bored=) Emily is coming wednesday hopefully to help me with the boys but not hers!
I felt better today after starting the antibiotics, doc did some tests yesterday in the ER and discovered a UTI, which I haven't had since I was pregnant with Jacob!
We went to the kids Christmas play last night at church and it was so good! It was called "O Savior, Where Art Thou?" Of course based on O Brother where art thou. Tanner was Jeremiah, the man in constant sorrow. Jacob was a shepherd. The music was fun and it brought several laughs! But also a good message.
Steve and Teresa came, and we had almost a full house!
Well I am going to see if I can't get enough energy to do something.

Janet, I am so disappointed in you!! To me a hankerin' is a strong want or yearning for something, not sure what Webster has to say about it though lol!! I agree with your mother, The Beverly Hillbillies will do you some good :p I think I will try to bring a cheese ball and tortilla rolls. I made those a few years back I believe and haven't made them since. I will get mom to help me with the cheese ball, hers are always so good. Yesterday morning during our Cantata Marleigh sat with one of my friends. Mom keeps her girls. Before the service started, while everyone was still mingling, you could hear Marleigh across the church just laughing. I looked to see what she was laughing at but I couldn't tell. It don't take much and I know she loves being around the other kids. When the lights went out and at the end of the first song I looked into the congregation to see if I could see her and what she was doing and she was sitting on my friend's husband's lap, thumb in mouth, out like a light!! She hadn't had her mornin' nap yet haha. She slept through the whole thing. Ruth, when I first brought Marleigh home from the hospital, being a first-time mom and all, I would change my clothes and hers every time she spit up. It only took me 2-3 weeks to learn that I would rather wear her spit up for the day than have so much laundry to do lol :P If I think of anything else to make and bring I'll let yal know. Congrats Cindy!! Smooches!

Blain and I had to run to Lewisburg to the Massey Ferguson Store so he could Christmas shop for Kaiden. And of course, I went to the Jewelry store for Olivia. I got Amy's Christmas card today and the pics are so good. That's one card I don't put in the drawer.
We went shopping at Walmart in Lewisburg and it sure brought back memories of last winter when I was shopping for Mommy and Daddy. Toasted marshmellows, when we could find them...clementines...$2...not too much...peppermint patties, a whole bag...birdseed...tea...hot chocolate...eggs (5 dozen), buttermilk (4)...I don't think I'll ever forget that. I'm still getting Sympathy cards...got one from Alvie Martin.
Teresa, for New Year's, Sally said she will come if she can. I will bring a Shrimp tray and Deer jerky. Bobbie, If you don't know what to bring, may I suggest Sausage Balls!

I was thinking finger sandwiches for Saturday and having Kelsey bake a couple of desserts but since everyone has ham biscuits in mind maybe I should do something else and as far as drinks I'll get some but if you have a favorite bring it. I was also thinking veggie tray, chicken strips, veggie pizza, cheese ball with crackers, or shrimp. This is just some of the finger foods that I had in mind would anyone care to bring anyone of these items or have some suggestions of their own. You guys are better at this than I am.
I hate that Amy, Greg and the kids cant come in for the holidays. We are going to miss them.
I believe I will have a ham to bring. We usually have two sent to us for Christmas, and I will serve one at our Christmas dinner on the day after Christmas. I also was thinking of making ham biscuits, Trish, but I could bring something else just as well. Beyond that, I haven't given it much thought since I am trying to get ready for Christmas AND catch up at work. I figured I would concentrate on that next week.

I just put on my long coat and wore it.

BECKLEY — West Virginia's 2011 Teacher of the Year Drema McNeal of Raleigh County is among 86 teachers from the state who earned National Board Certification this years.
West Virginia is ranked 20th nationwide in the number of new National Board Certified Teachers, the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards announced Wednesday on National Board Certification Day.
West Virginia is 24th in the total number of National Board Certified Teachers over time, with 580, outpacing much larger states, such as Texas, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Colorado.
"National Board Certified Teachers not only have to prove they know their subject matter, but they also must provide evidence they know how to effectively teach their subjects to students," said state Superintendent Steve Paine. "National Board Certified Teachers know how to bridge the gap between what students learn today and what they need to know to be successful in the 21st century. Teachers who receive the national certification are clearly among America's best."
This year, West Virginia increased its National Board Certified Teachers by 17.4 percent, compared to a national average of 10 percent.
Southern West Virginia teachers receiving certification in 2010 are:

Danny had went grocery shopping at his normal time 7am yesterday. When he came back home there were firetrucks and ambulances and police cars right in that curve before you get to our house. Thats where the hunting takes place. He stopped and one of the fireman told him they found this gentleman slumped under a tree. Not a gunshot wound though. He was already blue. Said he was from Beckley and worked at the prison in Beckley. Of course as cold as it was it wouldn't take you long to turn blue. It was right around 9 when he came home. I am thinking probably a heart attack. Sad!
I started running a fever yesterday, couldn't get warm and that is SO not like me. I guess I will go get a chest xray, blood count and a urine in the ER today. NOT the way I planned on spending my last few shopping days! Julie, I am glad you told me that! No one ever told me to do that! I could've went just for a check to make sure and had everything taken care of. The toothache has turned into more of facepain and the whole upper part of the left side of my mouth.
Has anyone started a list of food for New Years? What you are bringing? What about drinks? Do we need to all bring our favorite? I will bring chocolate chip cookies! And probably some type of finger sandwiches or ham biscuits one or the other...

BECKLEY — Greenbrier County Emergency Control Center reported that a hunter was found dead near Dawson in a Wildlife Management Area. According to the 911 operator, the call came in at 9:21 a.m. Saturday and is still under investigation by the Division of Natural Resources.
The body was taken to the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte; the hunter's name has not been released
