I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed the field trip and have such wonderful memories from it.  Field trips are great learning experiences!!  You will have to ask Mrs. Sims' if I have permission to tell the four-wheeler story :(  If so, I will be more than glad to explain!!!  LOL  Have any of you gotten a pumpkin yet?  I hope to get one next weekend :)

Hi this is Lexi. How  are you today  on this beautiful morning .
Mrs. Sims mom  i would be delighted to have some kool-aid with you some  time . I want  to tell you all about the best feild trip ever!!! We all  went to Grandview .To go to the stations there it was   a  mistery .It was fun it was full of weird bugs in  part of it.But it was really  fun to see the over look if you  look  down it make  it kind of scary! When you  look down and see the train tracks  it makes a hores shoe' and if you look to your right you can see the train sitting over there.  My favorit station is the water cycle  station it was lots of  fun at that one. In Grandveiw they had parks and they were  a lot of fun.

Wonderful news, Alice!

I do a Bible Study on Thursday morning with some of the girls here at work, and both of the following were in our readings today:

Psalm 103:1-3  Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His Holy name!  Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:  Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that our youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Isaiah 53:4-5  Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows:  Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.  But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Correction

I have to make a correction to that last post.  I just got a phone call from Mrs. Sims' class to inform me that SNOW in NOT a dirty word.  That, in fact, it is their FAVORITE word but needed expanded to SNOWDAY!  Duh, I should've known that.

~Rita~
Oh my goodness!  I am watching 59 News and he said a dirty word...SNOW.  He said it is in the northwest but it's headed our way.

Damian~If Mrs. Sims does any cooking in the classroom, you be sure to watch over the sugar and salt.  When she was home and I would be in the kitchen cooking, she wasn't interested much, but it could've been because she was always on the phone with her friends/boyfriends!

Michael~ Keep working on your reading...I know you can do it.  We will be looking forward to hearing about your A!!

Matthew~ Congratulations on your A's.  Maybe you can help Michael some.  Everybody needs help every now and then.

Cullan~Do you know where Trish lives?  She has 4 dogs so you probably see them in her yard.  The biggest one is Gracie.  We would love to meet you too.

Chance~Sounds like you are very athletic.  We may see you on the Olympics someday.

Allison~What a pretty name!   You have a way with words.  You may be a journalist someday!  Mrs. Sims has an uncle who is an author.  He has written a book about our family.  I will bring it when I come down for storytime :)  David, if your reading this, get on here and say Hello.

Andrew~I'm glad to hear that you love School AND Football.  I imagine we will be watching you play for Meadow Bridge someday.  What position would you want to play, Quarterback?

Well, I am going to get up and get busy, I've got laundry to do and I've got to pack for the trip to Lake Anna...leaving Sunday.  I cooked some roast beef last night in the crockpot so I am going to make a BIG pot of Vegetable Soup...YumYum

Trish, you are so right, a lot of 5th graders live around Dawson.  I keep a little boy who is going on 5 months old and his name is Dawson. What a coincidence!  He came all the way from California!

Matthew, you must have studied hard for your A's.  I'm proud of you that you know learning is important! It will help make your resume look gooood! Before you know it you will need a job!

Allison, "The best of the Batch?"  Sounds like she has a room full of cookies  :)  If that were so, what kind of cookies would you guys be?  Snickerdoodles?

Cullan, I have not heard your name before, it is different.  Are you named after a grandparent or someone else in your family tree?  "Your people meeting my people"  I like that, it sounds good.  What a small world we live in after all.  Our niece who is in Germany used to talk to us.  She is somehow disconnected right now tho'.

Damian, You are right about the salt and sugar.  You have to label that stuff real plain so you can tell which is which  :)  You do not want that to happen to you!

Michael, Hold on to the great times! It's cool to be just OK sometimes.  I have a lot of OK days.  I babysit several children in my home while their parents work.  Sometimes they make me smile, but other times they make me laugh out loud!  They can be soo funny!

Andrew, I'm glad you like football.  It is great exercise for boys and girls your age.  I am happy for you that school is fun for you!  I hope you have lots of friends.  You're not a prankster are you?

Chance, "Cow Town Road" huh.  I wonder how that road got it's name.  I wonder if in olden days there was a town and there was only cows who lived there.  Are you laughing yet?  I can just hear this story "Once upon a time there was a town in West Virginia and every day about 4 o'clock in the morning, way before the sun begin to rise you could hear (for miles around) the big rigs backing up to the gates of the town.  The trucks with the long silver tanks for carrying all that milk. And you know the rest of the story.  The milk had to get to all the 5th graders by 7am so they could have their cereal and make it to school on time!  You will have to make up a funnier ending to this story!
I do not know what a back walkover is. Explain please?  Is it walking backwards?

It has been great talking to you guys!
Wow!  Sounds like a lot of the 5th graders are my neighbors!  I live on Lawn rd in Dawson too!  I love the way you guys are using different colors on your blog posts.  There are lots of different and neat things you can do😮

I didn't know what they were going to do to honor danny just that they were going to.  And I didn't know that til the day before:). It was so nice!

Monica, no chandler nor preslee neither one ride.  Chandler is usually surrounded by girls by then! Lol
Hi my name is Damian Mrs.Sims is a really nice teacher and a little funny. She's always playing around with tus .Also about the kool-aid she might want to stop making it or she might mix up the salt for suger. :)         from:Damian

Sincerily Chance

Trish, that was sweet of them :)  Does Chandler or Presley get to ride with Shawn when he rides his bike around the track?  That's pretty neat that he does that with the flag, so patriotic!!
Bobbie~  NNNNOOOOOO! lol
That was really nice...what they did in honor of Danny.  That speaks volumes about a person.

~Rita~

This is a picture JW Puckett took after they presented me with the flowers Friday night.
Rita, maybe you have the picture of Mrs. Simms in Gramma's gown!  That is a hoot!

Lexi,
I have been on your road and in the winter it is dangerous!  Once we turned all the way around in the middle of the road on a patch of black ice.  We were in our Subaru and I thought it was a safe car, but it scared me good.  But God took care of us one more time.  You used to have a lot of potholes in your road, but I think maybe they finally patched them.  I wonder why they are called "potholes!"  Maybe because they are big and deep like a pot? Ha! Ha!  What do you think?
You will have to get Mrs. Simms to show you on the map where I live.  You can actually follow the road on map quest.  I live about two hours away from you and about 30 minutes away from Virginia Tech.

Dillon,
I'm so glad you like your teacher.  It will make the year go by sooo much better. And I'm thrilled that you want to reach for that A! It is good to set goals.  Mrs. Simms WANTS you to get an A too.  (It makes the teacher look gooood):)  I know she will do all she can to help you reach it.  Keep up the good work!  I'm rootin' for ya!  Go Dillon!
Well, Hello Everybody
It is great hearing from you all.  Lexi, if you know where I live, stop by sometime, I'll make you some GD Kool Aid and I'll fill ya in.  Sounds like your house is one full of love...That's how ours was!  Big families are wonderful.  Looking forward to hearing from the rest of the class.  Come on, don't be shy...Trust me when I say, this blog is not one for shyness.  HaHa  Let me know when you have story time.  I'll bring pictures too!!

~Rita~
LOL  Bobbie~  We all got a good laugh from that one, myself included!  I can just see grandma laughing so hard at that one.  The kids said my lack of cooking skills started early.  Haha

So good to hear from you Matthew! The Kool-Aid story!  Let me see.  Mrs. Simms was at her Grandmother Treadway's house I think.  She was going to make Kool-Aid for everyone.  Grandma sometimes forgets where she puts things!  Anyway she probably told her where to find the sugar.  But knowing Grandma, she probably kept the salt there too!  You know where this little story is going already.  Yep, she poured her cup of salt and Kool-Aid in the pitcher and wha-laa her Kool-Aid was ready.  She poured her glass full and took a big drink.  You should have seen that face! And then Kool-Aid was all over the place! Talking about a sour puss! It was a funny moment for the rest of us!  I can still hear Gramma laughing!!!
Hi my name is Lexi. I  enjoyed your blog very much. I live on Backus Mountain Rd  WV just like Mrs. Sims' mom.  My family is big too! I'm happy to be sorounded by my loved one though..  I  have  two brothers and a sister in law.   My brother's name is Chris and David.  I have  a niece  and nephew  and  one on the  way . Catlin is the oldest.  She is two.  Benjermen is  nine mouths old and he started to crawl a few weeks ago.  Chris said he is in to EVERYTHING he can reach. Its very funny! He is growing too fast.  Next is learning how to walk. Some of my family is out  of state too.

      Love,
           Lexi

My name is Dillon. Mrs.Sims is the best teacher I have ever had. I enjoy her.  I live in Dawson WV.  I think  Mrs.Sims is a good teacher.  I am trying to get an A:)

We visited the wind mills today. The trees and sky were beautiful!

The motorcycle is Bobbie Shawn's and of course that is the flag on the back of it. He rides before every home game out on the field;)

Friday night at greenbrier west ballgame was senior night and after the seniors were recognized they remembered danny with a very nice speech. Tanner escorted me in front of the field and the principal presented me with this bouquet of roses! Danny would've loved it:)
