Doing very well since my latest stent installation on Monday. I worked Friday most of the day with no ill effects. Tim, I need to make you aware of the association between Sleep Apnea and CAD (Coronary Artery Disease). Seems that most experts believe that the first causes the second. I first needed the CPAP machine 14 years ago so you better have your doctor order you a nuclear stress test to determine if you have evidence of blockage in any of your arteries. You don't need any of them to get as bad as mine was (100%, 95% and 80%) before something is done about it. It is a miracle that I did not have a heart attack, both doctors and nurses told me that while I was in the hospital. If any of the rest of you have symptoms that suggest you have sleep apnea, then the same goes for you. Have the doctors test forblockages that may even now be forming. Read this paper on the subject and this link. http://ttuhsc.edu/som/internalmedicine/pulm/education/other_references/sh_osa_cad_sleep_med_reviews_2008.pdf All this week, since my arteries have been open, I have found that I cannot sleep all night with the CPAP machine. I can go to sleep with it but once I wake up to go the bathroom, I am unable to go back to sleep with it, it's just like I don't need it. So I took it off and I was able to go to sleep the rest of the night without the machine and I was not snoring. Doctors agree there is an association between the two but some disagree on which came first, perhaps the CAD caused the Sleep Apnea. As I learn more, I will let eveyone know. As for now, I am MUCH IMPROVED! Thank you for all your prayers.
