In Honor of Mother's Day

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary (Galatians 6:9 NASB).

When the Chinese plant bamboo, first they plant the seeds, then water, and fertilize them. The first year, nothing happens. The second year they continue to water and fertilize the seeds, and still nothing happens. The farmer continues this process for a third and fourth year with no visual results. Then sometime during the fifth year, in a period of approximately six weeks, the Chinese bamboo grows ninety feet.   The question is, did it grow ninety feet in six weeks or did it grow ninety feet in five years? The obvious answer is that it grew ninety feet in five years. If the grower hadn't applied water and fertilizer every year, there would be no bamboo.   It is the same way with raising children. We pour into their lives. We plant seeds of character, pull weeds with discipline, water with prayer, and fertilize with encouraging words. Then one day, if we are persistent and consistent, we will see beautiful results.   If you are in the midst of raising your children, or even a parent of grown children waiting to see the results, I want to encourage you to press on.  Don't give up!  Keep praying!  Keep encouraging!  Keep loving! And one day, when you least expect it, your child will "rise up and call you blessed."

Trish,

Glad to hear Danny didn't have any infection!! Lynn keeps asking about him. If Tanner and Jacob need anything we can help with, please let me know.

Today

Danny,
We are all praying that things go well for you. Dad is having a scope on his kidney today to see why he keeps getting UTIs. Mom is there now. Please remember them today when you talk to the Lord. We are all doing okay. Kids looking forward to being out of school. Tanner you looked awesome and I totally loved the shoes.. Summer you looked so vibrant! You could be a beauty queen. My girls want a dress like yours. They can wait a while though. Marley is the cutest little cupcake and sooooo photogenic. I don't think anyone can take a bad picture of that baby :) Mom really missed being there for Easter. I am so blessed that she is strong and takes care of dad and the homefront. Please send up extra love to the Lord for her. We miss you all!
Summer is so refreshingly pretty! Beautiful! I can hear Gramma saying now " Ain't she going to get a little bit cold, Bobbie!"
She looks all grown up but when you look at the pics with the pooch you can still see the little girl:)
Danny slept really good last night with no fever!

I love the prom pics!! Summer is so beautiful, looks just like her mommy :) Sorry Lynn LOL. Tanner, I would say you are beautiful too but I don't think you would appreciate that so we'll go with handsome for you, just like your daddy!! I loved your red shoes too. Danny, we'll be praying that all goes well tomorrow and they get to the bottom of this. Janet, Marleigh got really still when that girl started painting her face. I think she was wondering why I was letting a stranger get that close to her :P She did so good though during that painting, it only took maybe a minute though, but that's good for her. So I'm guessing when Kaiden gets older and starts to date he'll be looking for a gal who can drive a tractor? LOL!!

These are my favorites, and the cook out is saturday.

Cindy, summer looks like a southern belle! She is so pretty!

Danny and I are at the red roof inn beside the hospital in Charlottesville. He is scheduled to have the echo in the morning at 930. If they find infection he will be admitted. Will blog tomorrow when I find out anything".

Summer's Freshman Year Prom 2011

Marcia: Is the cookout on Saturday or Sunday?

We cannot come, but Happy Birthday, Ariel!
Monica, Was Marleigh rolling her eyes at you?  Wonder where she gets that?  Also, when Kaiden saw the picture of her on the tractor, he said he loved her.  I think he meant the tractor:)  LOL
Danny~  Many prayers going up for you.

All the prom- goers looked very nice!  Summer and Tanner~ Hope you had fun!  Looks like you did:)

Ariel, Happy Birthday. I didn't try the ribs, had Pretzel chicken instead.  REALLY GOOD!
We are going to have a cookout at the cabin for Ariels birthday this weekend at noon. Come if u can. Trish call if u need anything.

Dan

We are headed back to UVA today. He has had a high fever all weekend and his lab work isn't improving. Afraid it still may be in the valve so we see a cardiologist at 330. He is so weak, hasn't eaten since Thursday and now the antibiotics are making him sick. Send lots of prayers. Will let you know how it goes.
What beautiful pictures! Trish, you are definitely your fathers daughter with the camera! They look so happy and full of promise for the future! I know you are proud of him. Like those red shoes!
