Trish, you have more faith than you know, You are just begining to use it.Love it.That is what God wants is for us to trust him and turn it over to him, but believe me it gets hard sometimes.
Well I took him to his pediatrician dukart and he said that its where his heart rate is so low where he has been working out. It runs in the 40s when he is at rest   So when he gets up first thing in the am he doesn't have enough blood to get to his brain sooooo he passes out! He said for him to move around while in the bed and get the blood from his legs to his brain. I was really worried!  Of course I think everything is a tumor:(. But god is good!  He knows I couldn't handle that:)
He is off to the fair with his girlfriend and her family. They make such a cute couple :) thank you all for the emails, texts and mostly the prayers! The first thing I thought of was "Lord if this is something serious I can't do it alone!" But you guys have been right beside me!  And you have been there all year!  Texting, calling and emailing and holding my hand and listening to me cry!  Well last night after church I came home and after much reading and soul searching I said "lord  it is what it is and if it is something serious then you have to go with me cause I can't and won't go alone!" And do you know today I just had that peace that all would be well whether we got a good report or a bad one! But praise God for the good one!
Love you all!

Hiding Place

As the tears run down my face I am just sad. I think about so many friends who are facing hard life decisions and illnesses. Sometimes I just don't have the words to help or even encourage because I know the road they are traveling. And sometimes words just don't seem sufficient. Sometimes you need those tears. They are good for the heart and good for the soul. When I walk, I talk to God and I listen to music. One of my favorite songs is "Hiding Place" by Steven Curtis Chapman. In the last 2 years I have wanted to run away and hide! I did find a hiding place! Psalms 119:114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
When I was scared, and those days were many, I hid. When I was sad, I hid. Even when I was mad, yes, I would find my hiding place. I know what God says! So when I can't find comfort in anything else I turn to those words. His promises!
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope

Today I was looking for a hiding place. I found it in the middle of the woods looking out over a cliff. There was nothing but rocks and trees, moss and mushrooms but I could feel Jesus wrap me in his arms there and it felt so good. My prayer for you, my friends, is that you find your hiding place in Jesus! Let him wrap you in his arms and comfort you. Lift up your head, help is on the way. It wont pass you by, you just gotta reach out your hand!
When the storms rage, seek your refuge in that embrace of Jesus Christ, your hiding place!

Hey Trish, you really went out on a limb with that 'lineup' shot! Is that some good lookin' knees or what? Wow, way back when I had hair too. And since then the shortest has become the tallest. How times change. Thanks for the memories. You girls are looking good at Ruth's house. Love you all David

Selah - You Deliver Me

What I Have Learned

As I sit and ponder this last year I try and try to figure out WHY? I have learned NOT to ask why everyday. My answer is always the same, "God has a plan"! I have, however, learned that we don't always see the immediate answer. I want desperately to see the reason Danny was taken from me and our kids. In this past year, I have learned to be more patient, kinder, bolder, the list goes on and on. Danny is teaching me even as he is looking down on me. I have stopped to smell more flowers this year than I have smelled my whole life! I even smell the weeds growing along the road! I have learned that if you love someone you should tell them. Don't wait! If you are sorry for something...tell that person...don't wait! I have learned that dishes can wait...children can't! A clean house just ain't all that! But a good cup of coffee shared with a friend IS! I have learned that family is Gods gift to us here on earth! Don't take them for granted. Cherish them, nurture them and LOVE them because you won't have them forever! Life is so short and gone in a blink of an eye! Don't wait for your funeral to wear that special dress! Wear it now when YOU can enjoy it! Even if you are going to the grocery store or the post office! Put on those pearls or that diamond necklace! It will look good on you when you are picking out your fruits and veggies! For those that knew Danny, you know he wore his GOOD clothes 24/7. His best gray shirt and blue shorts! Always! I finally cleaned out that last wardrobe that was his just last week! A stack of gray shirts:) That is just who he was! And boy do I miss that! The one thing I have learned in this past year is don't hold on to your anger. Give it to God and let him deal with it. Danny was not one to hold on to his anger. He didn't hold a grudge. He loved. If there is nothing else I learned from him in the 30 years we were together I learned to love. Everything else just falls in to place if there is love! And with Danny, there was always love.

Blessings
Trish

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

From Ruth!

Since Ariel's wedding is so close to Labor Day (and those of us who can will be there) and since Daniel, David and Vonda's families had not planned to come Labor Day, we have decided to forego meeting this Labor Day.  Please inform those of your family who are not included in this e-mail (I do not have their addresses).  We are looking forward to seeing you at Ariel's wedding!

Addy, I'm on my way!!!
Addy:  Isn't it amazing what things trip each of our triggers!
Yes it is! I found it when we were going through the old house. I was so excited after Paul finally mounted it. He said "you've had an ice crusher for the past 5 years." But it wasn't Grandma's! Monica, you can come and crush ice anytime you want!
Addy, is that the ice crusher that Mommy had?  Sure looks like it.

Paul mounted the ice crusher... Finally!

Wow!

a picture for you

Okay, So I have this little place in the woods where I go to pray. I
call it my "church in the wild woods" Now I think I can REALLY call
it that. I was just reading an email from David when something caught
my attention and this is what I looked up to find. I guess I'm going
to have to start "packin' " to church! This was a little one and my
first thought was, "Where is Mama". Needless to say, I put God on
hold and got outta there! LOL

Still an anniversary

You weren't here to remember when we said I Do. But I did. The excitement of something new, starting our life together. You by my side, my beast friend. I went to that church and I imagined us 29 years before. All of our friends and family sharing that day. We had a good life with family, friends, and kids. With God by our side we never wavered. 28 years later...same church, same friends. Only to say goodbye and celebrate your life and the lives of so many you touched. On that special day even though your gone, same church, same friends. Only this time I have a part of you in my heart and the best part of you by my side. Our kids so much like you. You will never be gone...and it will always be our anniversary.

What a clear rainbow!  Gorgeous.  Do you know what happened on this day last year, besides Addy turning another year older??  The Derecho!  Where were you when it hit??  I was in Beckley at Adam Crabb's concert when the lights went out and it sounded like an airplane was right overhead!  Coming home looked like a war zone!
Oh Happy Birthday, Addy!!  And Steve?  Did you like the present that Teresa got you??

READ: Job 7:11-21

I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. —Job 7:11

In May 2011, a young woman took cover in a bathtub during a tornado that devastated her city of Joplin, Missouri. Her husband covered her body with his and took the blows from flying debris. He died, and she survived because of his heroism. She naturally wrestles with the question, “Why?” But a year after the tornado, she said that she finds comfort because even on her worst day ever, she was loved.

When I think about “worst days ever,” I think of Job right away. A man who loved God, he lost his animals, his servants, and his 10 children in one day! (Job 1:13-19). Job mourned deeply, and he also asked the “Why?” questions. He cried out, “Have I sinned? What have I done to You . . . ? Why have You set me as Your target?” (7:20). Job’s friends accused him of sinning and thought he deserved his difficulties, but God said of his friends: “You have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has” (42:7). God did not give him the reasons for his suffering, but He listened to Job and did not fault him for his questions. God assured him of His control over everything, and Job trusted Him (42:1-6).

The Lord may not give us the reasons for our trials. But, thankfully, even on our worst day ever, we can know for sure we are loved by Him (Rom. 8:35-39). —Anne Cetas

We’re grateful, Father, that You know our hearts
with our pain and joy. Thank You that You never
leave us nor forsake us, as Your Word tells us.
Please hold us close during our trials.

God’s love does not keep us from trials, but sees us through them.

Right on teacher Addy!  She is that!  Jesus said that we all must come to Him "like little children"!  Soo trusting and full of joy to be in His Presence.   That is how Marleigh comes to my house, so happy to see me.  And I am just as overcome with joy to see her!  I took her to the bookstore with me yesterday and she sang a song to the lady there about how "Jesus can use me".  It was nothing short of precious!   I told the congregation on Sunday about Miss Marleigh praying for rain for us last year and you should have seen them wiping the tears!  She imparts joy everywhere she goes! And I thank God for sending her to us!

Monday, June 24, 2013

Oh to have faith like Marleigh.  She is a little handmaiden of the Lord...Right Bobbie?

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Miss Marleigh invited PaPaw and I to the park for pizza last night and I am happy to report that her bites are getting smaller and less red and she said "Jesus is touching them." So Praise the Lord for all of those little things He does behind the scenes in our lives.

Thursday, June 20, 2013

Tell miss marleigh nothing is too small or too big for our God! And I think mosquito bites would be top of my list to have prayed away:)

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Tonight at church it was time for prayer requests.  Marleigh started tugging on my arm and whispered, "I want to say something!" and she seemed quite excited.  I asked her if she had something she wanted them to pray for and she said yes.  I asked her what it was and she said it was her mosquito bites.  I told her she would have to wait her turn when no one else was talking.  When all was clear I told her to say it.  The first time she said it she was too quiet and no one heard her so I told her to say it louder.  She hollered out, "I have mosquito bites!"  I could tell the pastor was unsure of what she said so I repeated it for her.  He then stated that he could pray for mosquito bites because he had had them and knew how they felt :)

Happy Father's Day to all you men out there :)  Love the pic Trish!!

In the year 2013, the Lord came unto Noah, Who was now living in America and said:
"Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me."
"Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with a few good humans."

He gave Noah the blueprints, saying:
"You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard - but no Ark."Noah!," He roared, "I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark?"

"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed."
"I needed a Building Permit."
"I've been arguing with the Boat Inspector about the need for a sprinkler system."

"My homeowners association claim that I've violated the
Neighborhood by-laws by building the Ark in my back yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to go to the local Planning Committee for a decision."

"Then the City Council and the Electricity Company demanded a shed load of money for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear none of it."

"Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the Greater Spotted Barn Owl."
"I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls - but no go!"

"When I started gathering the animals, PETA took me to court. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodations were too restrictive and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space."

"Then the Environmental Protection Agency ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study on Your proposed flood."

"I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm supposed to hire for my building crew."

"The Immigration Dept. Is checking the visa status of most of the people who want to work."
"The labor unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only union workers with ark-building experience."

"To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species."
"So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10 years for me to finish this ark."

"Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine and a rainbow stretched across the sky."

Noah looked up in wonder and asked, "You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"

"No," said the Lord. " The Government beat me to it."

Baby Alex is so adorable!!  Love all the pics :)
Janet, will have to take some videos of that. That will be sweet to see their reactions to the things the baby does.
That's so funny about Kaiden! And yes Olivia is going to be a mommy!
He is going to be a most precious little boy for sure!
He weighed 8 lb 11.8 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.  Born at 4:49 pm.  Easiest delivery I've ever seen.  I wish I could have slept through MY deliveries!!  He is precious and I'm glad Olivia got to be there.  She is going to be the little mommy, that's for sure.  You know how babies cry in their sleep and make awful faces??  When they brought him home yesterday, Kaiden seen him do that, first thing, and it tore him up.  Kaiden started crying too.  Janet's going to have them all crying at the same time.  LOL
