Monica, I did not know Emily or her family very well, although I am told that one of the father's brothers will be taking their son to live with him. He IS local. I understand that both families agreed that this would create the least unheavel in the son's life. We took up a collection here and the father's work is doing the same. The local news came here and also went to the father's workplace and did a special interest story appealing to the community for help. There has been an account set up at a local bank to accept donations on the son's behalf. Very sad indeed.
In 2008 another of our employees died leaving two young boys. The husband later committed suicide with drugs, as I recall, leaving the two boys with their grandmother. One is 18 and the other 15, and I was told last week that the grandmother's cancer has returned. Another very sad situation. Makes one wonder how people can make it without God, doesn't it?

Another sad day at The Cadle Company - One of our employees, Emily Danes, and her husband were coming home from dinner and a movie celebrating their anniversary Friday night and a car on the wrong side of the road hit them head on and killed both of them instantly. They lived out our way on County Line Road and the accident happened on South Canal before you get to County Line. The man who hit them had had three OVI's and they suspected that he was again driving impaired, although the toxicology report has not come back yet. They have a little boy who is seven (his birthday was Saturday I am told). Please pray for their families.
Olivia, you are indeed lovely!

I scrapbooked some pics from Labor Day weekend, put them in frames and Mark hung them in our bedroom. Trish, you'll have to let Tina and Clarence know that their beagle made it on my wall :) The pics in the frame with the blue background were taken up at their house :) It is so beautiful up there. The other frame is of Mar and her s'more at the fire pit :P

7 pictures for you
The first thing Blain said was,"Is that make-up on her face? She's
too little to be wearin' that!" Oh, so much the papaw!!
Isn't she beautiful! I found her dress at the Thrift store for
$29.50. When Janet came to look at it, she found that it was half
price! So she got it for 14.75. I thought she was the prettiest one
there ;) And one of the school colors is royal blue!
Bobbie, God DOES know exactly what we need!

Yes, I like how you opened up the walkway into the kitchen. It seems to invite the company on in where the food is! But I bet it turns into a runway for those little planes of yours! Laken would love it. He is my little runner and I threaten him, but he don't seem to care one bit! He is not afraid of his "Mimi." With the cold weather coming tho' the light in that room is soo good for playing long hours. I wish you contentment with your little ones while you job hunt. God has something out there for you if that is your heart's desire. Situations force us all to adapt sometimes, but we come from a good stock of adaptors! Just remember "you are the head and not the tail!"
Bobbie yes the couch and chair are in the front sitting room. I decided with just me and Jacob and the dogs we didn't need so many rooms to sit. He liked all the changes yesterday evening when he came in. The big dogs only come in of the evening now mostly for my company. They sniff around then go straight to bed. They will be a more permanent fixture when the weather turns cold. Danny told me all the time the dogs needed to stay out and as soon as the temps started to drop he would tell me to bring them in.... They were his big babies as much as mine, and I don't have to tell you all what a big teddy bear danny was;)
The big dining room is kid friendly, lots of room to run tractors or have tea party's!

Trish, everything looks so wonderful!! What do the animals think of the new arrangements? You know you can always call any of us to have a shoulder to lean on :) Janet, if you drive like you cook I don't think it's going to matter what your in LOL. Love you bunches :) :) :) I read the news posting and they showed that guy on the news last night. It is a much smaller world than we think sometimes haha. Have you guys been watching The Great American Bible Challenge? I love that game show. It shows me how wrong I can be when time is an issue lol. It's great to hear from everybody. Love to all :)
Trish~ I enjoyed reading your post! I can just see Danny rolling his eyes at three Treadway women trying to decide who is the boss and mumbling under his breath. LOL I miss him all the time!
For all of you Dodge fans, Shawn and I were racing up Sewell Mtn the other night and I got left behind. You get excited, but since I was in a Ford I guess that's not really saying much! I'll be in my truck the next time:)
I will post pictures after tomorrow night of Liv as she runs for Little Miss Wildcat. She didn't win, but she is so excited to get all dressed up!

Trish your floors and decor look wonderful! I wish they could come to my house next! :) I really do need those organizing people to drop by our place!
I'm glad that you had an uplifting day out to eat! Hang on to these good memories that you guys are making together. Did I see your two sofa's in the one sitting room off of your bedroom now?
And we don't know that Danny doesn't see your shiny new floors! I know that he would be happy for you. I can just hear Daddy telling Danny "Now if she would just keep those dogs outside!" and Danny laughing and saying "That would be like telling her to keep her kids outside, she loves her dogs!!!" I'm just funnin', I love ya Trish

Sad to say Monica but I don't have much to say so I just don't say anything. I can brag on rita and Teresa though. They came over to help me strip the wax from my floors in the DR and kitchen and put new wax. We started yesterday at 8:30 and finished about 3:30. It looks sooooo good. Sure wish Danny could've seen it. I have had the stripper and wax for 4 years and kept telling him I was going to do it and never did. Looks like new floors. We of course had to take all the furniture out and I am here to tell ya that those two can move about anything. While it was all out we of course didn't miss the opportunity to rearrange stuff. I am going to take pictures and put up. They came back this morning to help me put everything back. Next week I am going to tackle my carpets and shampoo them if the weather is warm. After we finished moving furniture today we went to Alta for lunch and boy was it good. We even had time yesterday to squeeze in Madea goes to Jail while the floor dried. I haven't started looking for a job yet but will soon before the end of the year. I am babysitting a couple days a week for Sybil and that sure fills my day! Aaron and Andrew are trying to get the hang of the potty! All I can say is there is never a dull moment with those two!
We did have an armed and dangerous man loose in Rupert last night. He was actually up the road that shawn and Kelly live on. He apparently robbed a bank in roanoke yesterday and how in the world he ended up in greenbrier county is a mystery to me but they caught him this afternoon and to my knowledge there was no one hurt.
Please continue to say a prayer for me and the kids. I miss danny so much....I can't say that it has gotten easier because it hasn't. Everything I do or see reminds me of him. The tears come often and the heartbreak is deep and I don't know how one gets over that or if they do
Love to all
Trish

Monica, You are too funny. I AM going to make this, I have the peppers out of my garden and I cooked the beans, But I need to get some celery. I think I have eaten it before but I'm sure I will like it. I guess everybody is just busy or have nothing to say. Our high here today is going to be 63 degrees. Whoo Hoo. I'm thinkin' it is time to build the fire in the basement.

My friend made this for supper tonight and it was good. Put me in mind
of chow-chow or relish. I hadn't heard of it before.
It would be great with pintos!!
Kraut Salad
1 c. drained sauerkraut
1 c. diced celery
1/2 c. diced green & red peppers (combined, for color)
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 1/4 c. sugar (or less)
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 tsp. salt
*Mix all together, cover, and put in fridge for 5 hours or overnight
My
friend thought 1 1/4 cup of sugar was too much so she used 3/4 cup. She also
diced up a little red onion and added for color.
Congratulations teachers of Meadow Bridge!!! :)

Funny For The Day
If Noah would've had a facebook page, his status for the last 40 days and 40 nights would've read "Still Raining, Shoveling Poop."

Food for Thought - What If God Said Yes?
James 4:2-3 ". . . Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures."

"What If God Said Yes?
"A friend posed a question last week that has challenged me ever since: 'what if God said "yes" to every prayer we prayed today? Would our neighbors or neighborhoods or nation notice? Are we praying radically?' That profound question came from prayer leader Phil Miglioratti over Facebook. I hope it's niggling at his other Facebook friends the way it's niggling at me!
"I thought about the things I'd talked with God about that day. All good things. Important things. I asked Him to intervene in the needs of friends, family members, people at church, folks at work, people I minister with and to. I know He cares about each person and need I discussed with Him.
"Yes, maybe people around me would be changed and take notice if God answered the prayers I prayed today, I thought. But I could be asking so much bigger! So much more! Lord, give me Kingdom-sized prayers that You are just longing to answer!
"Since I read Phil's question, I've been praying a bit differently. I still pray my heart concerning the needs that are nearest to me, the people I care about the most. But then I ask God to help me look beyond my own front yard, as it were, and to see the bigger world that my prayers can impact.
"It's been a good challenge for me. So now I pass it on to you: What if God said 'yes' to every one of your prayers today? How much would change? Want to join me in praying more radically?"
