Danny is -On the Other Side waiting for us all
I can't imagine losing the one you love and not knowing they are going to Heaven. That has been the only comfort in losing him is knowing that one day we are going to be with him. If you haven't made you peace God, that is what Danny would want you all to do!
Today my best friend and first and only love died. He has suffered so much in the last 15 months to Sarcoma-a very rare and nasty cancer. He complained of pain but never once did he question God why him. I did...but he would tell me, God has a plan. I can't begin to thank you all for the many prayers and kind words. He has told me this week that he was tired and ready to go home, that he loved life but it was time. Today he was in so much pain and his last words to me were I am ready to go home, I'm done, I can't do this anymore. Thankful to God he heard his cries and our prayers and took him today. It is such a comfort to know that we will one day be reunited. There are so many that have helped us during this last year that I couldn't begin to name. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and know that You helped in some way to make his last days more pleasant and easier to bear. I have to thank Shawn Johnson for making sure his pain never consumed him and for always being there when I called. And thanks to Tina Midkiff for making his last hours bearable. Danny was truly blessed with friends and family and loved you all.

Hey all. Just wanted to let you all know that Daddy passed away about 7 this evening. He was peaceful and we are all here with each other and we're ok. We are going to make arrangements tomorrow and we will let you know. Love you all. <3

Danny is almost done with his battle here. Tanner is here with me and emily is on he way home from Morgantown. Home health came this morning and started a morphine pump. He is in a hospital bed in the living room and appears to be in no pain. He woke up long enough to tell me and tanner he was done and couldn't do this anymore and wanted to go home. You guys can send up prayers to see that happens. Feel free to stop by anytime.
Love you guys

Update on Georgie

Hang in there Alice! Wish we were close enough to visit! It's really an ordeal just for danny to go to the dr. He managed to go to church last Sunday but I am afraid he isn't going to feel like it tomorrow. He is having a terrible time with his sinuses. They are clotting off and when he gets the clots out it is tearing the tissue and pouring the blood. That's mostly thanks to the blood thinner. We were up most of the night either trying to stop the bleeding or clean it up.
Daniel and Alice we are praying for you guys all the time! Love you guys!
Hi Everyone, Glad to hear everyone has power again. We continue to pray for Danny and the family believing God will turn these health problem around. We sure miss being able to come in and see everyone, Lorie, we pray you have a safe and enjoyable trip when you go to visit. Glad to hear Georgie is doing well and may get to come home soon.
We found out after the last ct scam that Alice has to have 2 or 3 more treatments. They found 2 nodules about 1 cm in size that the Dr. wants to continue treating. The Dr. wants to make sure there is nothing left to grow back once the chemo is stopped.
Please continue to pray for us.

Happy birthday emily and Olivia! I would love to see Olivia and Kaiden! Hint hint Janet! I can't believe Kaiden is going to school, I bet there will be some stories there! It would be nice if all the little kids could get together while lorie is here with hers. These little guys need more cousin time. I know my kids wouldn't know what to do without their cousins. They have turned out to be really good friends:).
Danny is not doing so good this week. He went to the dr yesterday, that alone is a big accomplishment. He is retaining fluid in his lungs and around his heart. Increased his lasix and added another fluid pill. Changed some other stuff to see if that would make him feel better. We get up when tanner goes to work and he feels like sitting in the chair all day. Doesn't lay down any, so by the end of the day around 10 he hopes to sleep. Jacob mows the yard and takes care of his garden, we are enjoying daily cucumbers and an occasional tomato!
We are getting anxious to watch the Olympics! Since danny sits in front of the tv, we have watched everything but have discovered there isn't a lot to watch either! So the next three weeks should be good. It's really interesting to hear their stories.
I talked to Goldie and Georgia ia doing great. Hoping to move to a regular room this evening or tomorrow. She is still pretty short of breath and on high doses of oxygen, but feeling decent!
Happy Birthday ladies
Best birthday wishes to Emily and Olivia :)

Hey everyone, it is storming here and I thought I would catch up on the blog incase we lose power for another week. I don't think it is going to be that bad though. Aunties, you all looked so pretty in the pictures. Loved the new hair:) Mason is growing so fast and I love the picture where he is stretching. Keep the pictures coming. Timmy, Happy belated Birthday. Hope you had a good one. Marcia, It was good to see you the other day...nice to see a familiar face. How is Alice feeling these days? I didn't see a recent update on the blog and I am behind. Lorie, We are looking forward to seeing you and the girls. I have Lonnie's cell this time so I can track him down, or as Kaiden would say, "Uncle Lonnie lives at the Tractor Place." Looks like Marleigh inherited her mommy's beautiful hair...I am so jealous of those curls. Trish, I think Tanner must be missing Emily by the recent fb post. She will never let him live that down. Danny, hope you are felling better today and I love you:)
Happy Birthday Emily & Olivia!
My little ones went to Nana's to spend the night after going through withdrawals while she was gone. They ate all kinds of good garden food and came home spoiled. Sorry Mom, but it is true:) A couple of weeks ago they got to take swimming lessons and I was amazed at how much they learned in only a week. They loved it of course. We are slowly preparing ourselves to head back to school around here. Kaiden will go to prek at the Christian School and Olivia and I will go to Meadow Bridge, but we will not be in the same building. (Maybe I'll get to have lunch with Addy) It will definitely be a huge adjustment for everyone. Well, I guess I should post more often so that I don't have to write so much all at once. Love you all. Miss you too!

7 pictures for you
These are a few pics we took on our trip to see Vonda. We went to
church with her on Sunday. In the pic of Teresa and Ruth, you can see
they are trying out a new hair sytle. What do you think of Ruth's
straight hair? Doesn't it make her look, oh...say....10 yrs younger??
And what about Shirley Temple? Doesn't that make Teresa look 10
years younger too? And what about Vonda? Doesn't her hair look nice?
Her hairdresser is awesome, wouldn't you say?
You have been sent 7 pictures.

Hey everyone! We are enjoying POWER and all the comforts of home. 13 days was way too long. Sunday the power went out again but only for a few hours this time. Danny is breathing much better after his stay in the hospital. Cough seems under control for the time being and his appetite is getting better. He seems to just want sweets, so sweets is what he gets. Neighbors have been great. The day we came home 2 different people had taken laundry and done it. People are picking up prescriptions, groceries, gas for generators! Everyone has been great. Steve practically worked on everyones generators while the power was out. I told him I was pretty sure he could hang out a shingle and make a good living. Tanner is working with a lawn service and usually doesn't get home til dark Jacob has put out a little garden this year and we have corn, potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, pumpkins and 1 squash plant! But of course none if it is ready:( Emily and Zac are still working at the camp in charleston for underprivelaged kids. Wont move to Morgantown til the end of the month.
Danny has good days and bad so continue to remember him in your prayers,
love you guys,
Trish

Marleigh fished for the first time today!! Corey baited her line and as soon as he cast it in she had a bite. Of course he reeled it in for her. It was a little stinker but we were excited. She wouldn't touch the fish but we got her to hold the line for the pic :) We had dad's family reunion and it was a beautiful day for it. The clouds rolled in around 4ish and it started to rain and it brought a wonderful breeze with it. There was cornholin' going on as well lol :)
Hi Trish and Danny, We are so glad to hear that you are back home. There is nothing like home. We are praying for the needs that you mentioned, strength, appetite and being able to sleep. I know we serve a God who can meet every one of those needs. We love you and just to let you know there's a lot of people here praying for you.
On Wednesday, the 4th, we had a parade in town. It was already getting hot that morning but we found a big tree to stand under and keep cool :) From what I understand Rita, Ruth and Addy have been getting rain!!! Praise the Lord!!! Marleigh is praying for Doris, let us know :) We came up and had a wonderful visit with Danny and Trish Thursday morning. We went on 219. I don't remember ever going that way before but it was pretty scenery. I noticed that a lot of the barns had pictures on the front of them above the barn doors. One looked like a quilt and others were just different designs. Does anyone know what the deal is with that? It was neat, I've just never seen it anywhere else before. On the okra, I've only eaten it fried as well. I think it was rolled in cornmeal maybe. That's how Ryan's does it lol. Matthew, did you say that was your favorite place? LOL!!
Backing up a bit.....When the first storm hit we were at work. I was working in a room that had a pass through window in it and was on the exterior of the building. It was just about 9 pm and I was right beside the window when my gate started blowing with the wind. As soon as I saw it I heard this very loud noise that sounded like a train. Mom has told me and I've seen on tv that people say tornadoes sound like a train. When it hit me that I had never heard a train at work and we didn't have any train tracks nearby I instantly began to feel sick at my stomach because I just knew there was a tornado outside (Praise the Lord I was wrong!!). However, as soon as I began to feel sick I immediately started praying and looking for something to get under or hold onto should the need arise (the sounds coming from the roof weren't comforting :(). The sound lasted maybe a few minutes then went away but the wind stayed around for quite some time. Of course we have all heard of the damage and devastation that came with this storm. We were fortunate to not loose power but it did flicker on and off that night. The second storm was not near as bad. The wind was pretty high again, there was some wicked lightning and we got about 2 hours worth of rain from it :) I think mom has already said that we weren't able to have church for a week. I'm happy to see most everyone has their power back. Rita, have you gotten yours yet?

We got home last night around7. He is breathing better but is still really weak and stays so tired. Eating very little just nibbling around. He rested better being home and in his recliner but just can't sleep. They have given him so much pain meds that he is still in a brain fog and he is trying to get that cleared up. Continue to remember him in your prayers!

Cookin' Okra
The only way that I have eaten okra is the way they cook it in the South: sliced in circles, dipped in batter and deep-fried.

Hey everybody! I wasn't sure how my potatoes were going to do after the storm blew all my vines down so I dug a little vine this evening and to my surprise, I'm going to have a few potatoes after all! And I'm going to have bukus? Bookoos? Of squash! You get the picture! I know for you seasoned gardeners this probably seems pretty small, but this is the first thing I've gotten this year and I'm so excited! My first garden didn't do so well. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me!

How hot is it?
IT'S SO HOT in OHIO that------.....the birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the ground......the trees are whistling for the dogs......the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.....hot water comes from both taps......you can make sun tea instantly......you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron......the temperature drops below 90 F and you feel a little chilly......you discover that in July it only takes two fingers to steer your car......you discover that you can get sunburned through your car window......you actually burn your hand opening the car door......you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 A.M......your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death"?.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid stage......the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter......the cows are giving evaporated milk......farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.IT'S SO DRY IN Ohio that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are giving rain checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water!

Hey Everybody!
Hope you are all staying as cool as possible and have plenty of food! Paul and I, and the dogs!, are doing just fine. I was at work when the storm hit. We had a restaurant full of people when the power went out. I got home about 10:30 that night after we cleaned everything up and the wind died down. It rained here this morning for about an hour and now the sun is out. I think we are going fishing this evening. We took all 4 dogs swimming the other day at Ronceverte and the river water was soooo warm. So much for cooling off!
Thanks for the birthday wishes! It was definitely one I don't think I'll forget!
Love, Addy

Bear keeping cool
The generator is a wonderful invention, expensive, but wonderful. We are using about one gallon per hour. As you can see danny is watching sports and we have two portable ac units running right beside his chair. Works pretty good and keeps it cool til about 6-8. The refrigerator is running so we are doing well on sandwiches cold drinks and peanut butter. Greg gave us a sandwich maker so Jacob is cooking toast and grilled cheese.
We have the oxygen concentrator and some fans hooked up. Power trucks are just coming to our area today and trying to remove trees and fix poles. The web site says Friday night but the guys working are saying realistically possible Sunday.
