Brooks

Clara

We are always keeping you ALL in our prayers, Love you All.
You all remember Alice in prayer today, she is scheduled for her treatment.  I remember how it was with Blain and he said about the time he started to feel human again, it was time for another treatment.  Danny, I'm praying for you, as well.  Psalm 103:1-5  Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His Holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;  Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles.

I don't know when it was built , I just remember it always being there, never knew the rocks were they either. It may have been built after the house was , if so Uncle Lin and Gramdpa may have helped build it.
Whoa! Our parents ROCKED!

Now that I see it, I believe I remember the garage as it now stands. Vonda, do you remember when it was built and by whom?

Sunday, April 15, 2012

I didn't realize before that the bottom of the garage was rocked! What year would this have been? Did the boys help when they were little or did Dad build the garage before the boys were born. It looks so primitive! I bet our father picked each and every rock with his own hands and turned them just so so! Steve are you sure you don't want to keep the garage? Maybe just the foundation?
I heard that!!
Sorry about the Large print

We made it home at 10 yesterday morning. He slept most of the day in the chair. Didn't get the boost he had hoped for but he is feeling a little better. UVA says too risky to get chemo today. His dr is out of town until Monday and will decide where we go from here. In the meantime he is just hanging out trying to breathe and feel better.

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

He is up in the chair this morning. Ready to go home. We are just waiting on the doc to come and discharge. He didn't ave any difficulties getting it. Not sure if he slept any but I sure did. This hard recliner fit me just right last night.

Not sure yet about his chemo tomorrow.

With all the kids inside, the furry ones were outside.  I think Bandit was feeling lonely LOL!! Can you find his "glowing" eyes???  Marleigh learned what somersaults were :)

We stayed at "Addy's Playhouse" Friday night.  Janet brought her two kids over and Addy's neighbors came over as well.  They have 3 kids.  They had a blast!!  The adults had fun too :P
Just checkin' in.  I really enjoyed the weekend, as well.  The baby shower, the egg hunt with the kids, the meal (God does provide, He sends the chicken :0) the fellowship.  I loved the heart..Daddy would have to...the way it just happened!  We thanked God for the love we have for each other and then God gave us a picture.   For those of you who couldn't be there, you were missed!  I understand there is going to be another get together on Labor Day and the festivities look to be awesome.  Thanks Steve and Teresa for opening your home to us...I know how hard it is to clean after everybody leaves.  We appreciate it.  Danny, Alice, David and spouses, you are in our prayers.
Well, I am out the door to buy some seed...it is plantin' time.

I really enjoyed Saturday with all the family, loved seeing everyone. Thanks again for all the baby gifts, I feel so blessed to be part of such a loving family. Hope everyone had a good time.

I hope everyone had a beautiful, blessed Easter day!!!  It was beautiful here but a little windy.  We enjoyed ourselves this weekend as well.  Here are a few pics, I'll try to post more tomorrow.  I don't know how old this tree is but I can remember it since I was little.  I know there are several pics floating around with others in this tree.  If any of you have some of them, can you post them?  :)  I remember one of the boys, Emily and Andy when they might have been around 5-ish maybe.  And I think I have seen one with Trish, Steve, Lori and Dwayne when they were teenagers.  I would love to see them.  It's hard telling how many kids have been in this tree when Grandpa wasn't looking lol.   Vonda and Vesta, you look beautiful in your dresses!!  Did anyone notice how the second group pic looks like a heart turned sideways???

Easter 2012

Posted by Picasa

Easter at the nursing home

It was a beautiful day! I am sure mommy and daddy were watching and nodding their head in approval, except maybe when the kids were in the tree and the kids were in the fire! Lol. I took danny to the er after I left. Everything is stable. Lab and chest X-ray is ok. He is feeling a little better today. At least able to walk by himself. Breathing is about the same but seems like the third day of chemo is the worse.

Alice I hope you are recovering from your chemo. Danny said this morning that he wished you two could get together and hallucinate at the same time. I went to church this morning and we had around 100 there! Our cantata was good. The kids all stayed home with danny.

I haven't seen a group picture yet! Who took one?
HAPPY EASTER everyone!
I too want to tell everyone what a wonderful get together we had yesterday. For all of you who were not in the count, we MISSED you! We counted 50 who came for dinner, maybe more later. I pray a wonderful blessed day for ALL the Treadway family everywhere today.
Somewhere in your day Mama's and Dad's be sure and tell your children that it's not all about eggs and bunnies, but that it's all about Jesus and the life He gave just for them.
However I love the egg story of the three parts being one egg! Yeah!

Saturday, April 7, 2012

Hello Everyone!  I just wanted to tell you guys what a wonderful time I had today as we visited.  I enjoyed the laughs.  Thanks Dan and Lonnie for watching my kids all day.  They had some really good stories on the way home.  Apparently, you two are cool because you let the kids play in the fire:0  Anyway, just wanted you to know how blessed I felt as we spent the day together.  Those of you that weren't there, you were greatly missed.  Danny, we wish you could have been there:(  Olivia and Kiadien send hugs and kisses your way!  Love you all.  Have a great week!

Boy did he get that right on the money.
This speech was broadcast by legendary ABC Radio commentator Paul Harvey on April 3, 1965:

If I were the Devil . . . I mean, if I were the Prince of Darkness, I would, of course, want to engulf the whole earth in darkness. I would have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree, so I should set about however necessary to take over the United States. I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please. Do as you please.” To the young, I would whisper, “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is “square”. In the ears of the young marrieds, I would whisper that work is debasing, that cocktail parties are good for you. I would caution them not to be extreme in religion, in patriotism, in moral conduct. And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach them to say after me: “Our Father, which art in Washington . . . ."

If I were the devil, I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull an uninteresting. I’d threaten T.V. with dirtier movies and vice versa. And then, if I were the devil, I’d get organized. I’d infiltrate unions and urge more loafing and less work, because idle hands usually work for me. I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. And I’d tranquilize the rest with pills. If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellects but neglect to discipline emotions . . . let those run wild. I would designate an athiest to front for me before the highest courts in the land and I would get preachers to say “she’s right.” With flattery and promises of power, I could get the courts to rule what I construe as against God and in favor of pornography, and thus, I would evict God from the courthouse, and then from the school house, and then from the houses of Congress and then, in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and I would deify science because that way men would become smart enough to create super weapons but not wise enough to control them.

If I were Satan, I’d make the symbol of Easter an egg, and the symbol of Christmas, a bottle. If I were the devil, I would take from those who have and I would give to those who wanted, until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. And then, my police state would force everybody back to work. Then, I could separate families, putting children in uniform, women in coal mines, and objectors in slave camps. In other words, if I were Satan, I’d just keep on doing what he’s doing.

Paul Harvey, Good Day.
Rita, will you make us some scalloped potatoes? Can you make those fat free too! I'll do some slaw and some dessert. Do we need anything else ?

Ramps?  I was hoping you would forget those!  I will bring my tuna salad so I won't starve.  Haha
I will do finger sandwiches (pimento and chicken salad).  Me and Marleigh like brown beans and fried taters :P  No ramps!!
Hopefully it will be down and back. We have to be there at 630 and not sure when we get back. They certainly believe in taking their time.
My doctors seem more concerned with my lungs than anything else. I am scheduled for a CT scan of my chest and breathing studies then they will reevaluate for the chemo. my oxygen levels go quite low with walking or any exercise. So me and Danny are sharing the oxygen these days:) lol

I will bring mac n cheese and something else just not sure what yet.

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

How long will Danny have to be at the hospital?

What did the doctors in Cleveland tell you?
Danny goes Thursday for his next chemo.
We have plenty of ramps come on up and dig you a mess, I know you love them Janet, and I'll make you a big pot of brown beans, corn bread, and fried taters. Now that is a feast of Kings, royalty would be jealous. lol
Teresa, you forgot ramps! hahahaha as Janet said, you guys can have mine!

Sunday, April 1, 2012

Oh yes we just couldn't have Easter dinner without brown beans now could we?  YUCK!  You guys can have mine:)  Haha
I did not set a theme for food, I just ask that you bring your favorite food/dish. Suggestions: brown beans, corn bread, green beans, potatoes of some kind, a casserole, finger foods, chili, deviled eggs, baked beans, mac & cheese, some kind of salad or dip, etc. You guys know it doesn't matter, we just enjoy eating. Can't wait to see everyone. Don't forget we are also having a baby shower for Kimberly. Love you all!
I'm thinking we probably won't have time for coloring eggs :(  We are going to head back after the festivities so we can be at church Sunday morning.  Janet, it was good to see you too even if it was for a short time :)  If anyone has decided what they are bringing for Saturday will you let us know?  I'll try to figure mine out tonight :P
Speaking of food, what are we having Saturday? What should we bring?
One more thing, this morning after church, Kaiden broke out in tears at the dinner table because he was worried about not taking all the poeple and things to heaven with him, mainly his puppy.  Of course, we had to call Nana.  I remember sitting under grandma's kitchen table and asking her if there would be enough food in heaven for everyone and I was worried that there wouldn't be anything I liked.  lol    Leave it to me to be worried about the food:)
Bobbie, Monica & Marleigh,  So good to see you Saturday!  What a pleasant surprise that turned out to be:)  See you this weekend.  Addy said that I could have the commission back from those clothes...lol!  Monica, Don't forget to call/text me Friday when you figure out what you are doing.  Love ya!

Am I correct in thinking that we probably won't have time to color eggs this weekend?  If anyone thinks we will, let me know and I'll ge the stuff for it.  Amy?  Monica? Addy?  Emily?  I know this a tradition that is more for us than for the little kids so let me know.
WOW.  That is Awesome!  I would like to see that on the TV show, "How It's Made".

Friday, March 30, 2012

Hello everyone.  Just wanted to let you know that although I do not post often, I have been doing better at reading daily.  Daniel and Alice, wanted to let you know that I love you and I am praying for you.  Trish and Danny, you are continually in my thoughts and prayers.  I love you!  Love the picture of grandma on the blog.   I have it set on my kindle.  Nothing like seeing grandma's smile on a daily basis.  :)  I am at school, but I just wanted to take a minute to tell you all that I am looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend.  Love you all!
