Trish and Danny, I will fast for you as well.
Amen Ruth, Believe every word. and have faith to see through the storm.
Danny, Trish and Family: Keep saying what God says. Faith comes by hearing. So you want your faith to be in what God says, not in what Satan says (the negative). If you slip up and say the negative, ask God to forgive you and go right back to confessing His Word. If your confession sounds hollow at first, do not worry. Keep doing it because the more your ears hear you say God's Word, the more your faith rises up. And the greater your faith, the stronger your confession. It is a circle that keeps spiraling upward. I have been getting words about faith and confession from many different sources lately, so I know God is trying to impress upon me the importance of our words. I am convinced that they are the most powerful things in the universe. After all, that is how God created everything he created - by speaking. And that is how, I believe, that we create our world.

It may be a fact that Danny has cancer, but it is not THE TRUTH. God's Word is the TRUTH, and TRUTH trumps fact.

I have been fasting for three days, and was supposed to go off this morning, but I will be fasting and praying throughout the day today, and you will be in my prayers. I just got an e-mail that David and Julie are fasting and praying also.

I love all of you.

Well we didn't get a good report today. He has a new tumor in his left lung which is opposite where he had surgery. He said it is very aggressive and is already an inch and a half big. Not sure the plan yet. He goes next week for a PET scan and see the surgeon. The oncologist is leaning more towards chemo first and see if it responds. It will be a different kind of chemo this time.

Continue to remember him in prayer.
Monica, We loved the videos of Marleigh.  She is so cute and we loved her laugh.  I loved all the pics.  My those kids are growing.

Snow

Boy that was some beautiful snow! It has been wet here in MI. Just wanted to check in with everyone. Alice I hope you are having more good days than bad. We are praying for you and Danny that God continues to hold you in His healing hands. Dad is doing pretty good but he misses his roommate Larry a lot. We are doing okay. Vonda is learning to play the clarinet and Vesta is taking swim lessons for now. I am just working and trying to stay afloat. We miss you all and wish we were closer to everyone. I hope you all feel the good Lord's blessings today.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!  We finally got snow!!!!!!!!!!  It has been such a beautiful day today watching the snow fall all day.  It started around 10 this morning and still going at it.  It's not as heavy as earlier.  I think the biggest part of it fell while Marleigh was napping today.  When she got up we went to Nina and Pawpaw's for spaghetti so we haven't had a chance to go sledding yet.  I'm hoping it will hang around long enough so we can go in the morning.  Adam said there were spin outs all over the place on his way home this evening.  He made it safely home though :)  Mom and Dad made it home safe as well.  They went to TN for the weekend.  I think they brought the snow in with them this morning.  They said it was 67 degrees and people were everywhere down there and enjoying all the amusement rides.  I would like to be on an amusement ride right now....the bob-sled LOL!!!!  Teresa, I loved the pics that Kelsey had done.  They are beautiful :)  Daniel, how is Alice doing?  Danny, sorry we couldn't make it yesterday.  I know you had a good time though.  Post some pics :)  I expect to see some pics of winter weather from others.  Love to all

Those of you that can make it on Saturday for their birthday celebration it is 2-4 at our church. If you could let me know for sure if you are coming so I have somewhat of a head count:) thanks and love to all. Oh by the way, when Dannys hair started falling out he was all for buzzing it but he didn't have that much to begin with! Alice you go for that wig! With some of the temps we have been having you will need all the help you can get staying warm. That's the big thing that changed with Danny since his illness. He sits around with a blanket and complains of freezing all the time.
Believe it or not Jacob is finally a teenager! Woohoo!
I know I haven't posted in a while, but I do read daily! Happy Birthday Jacob! No matter how old you are, you're still the youngest in your family. (That's what I keep telling myself!)
Alice, sorry to hear about the sickness but we are continuing to pray for you, and Danny as well. Maybe you guys can go wig shopping together! I bet Danny has some great tips for you Alice!
We miss you all! Love, Addy and Paul
Happy Birthday, Jacob. May you have a blessed day! Just how old IS the birthday boy?

Alice, Danny and Trish: I continue to lift you up in prayer all the time. Don't forget just how big God is!
Happy Birthday Jacob, Have a fun filled day.
Happy Birthday Jacob!! May God bless you on your special day :)

~Rita~
We will be praying for her and u too . Tell Alice Bald Is BEAUTIFUL! Buy some hats they are cheaper. :)Get some good book and something to keep her mind off of the nausea' Love u guys

Update on Alice

The surgery went well, the Dr. said that she got all of the cancer she could find. The chemo treatment will take care of anything that is left. The chemo makes her sick but so far she is doing pretty good. Her next treatment is March 7. She is supposed to have 6 to 10 treatments, depending on how well it works. We are going to look for a wig pretty soon, they said she will loose her hair by the second treatment, but all and all she is hanging in there. The nausea and dry heaves seem to be the worst. Please keep us in your prayers.
Daniel and Alice
Just checkin' in to see how the two of you are doing.  Haven't heard from you since you got home?  How is Alice after the Chemo and Sx.  I know she is tough as nails but still...

Maybe Daddy was named after Grandpa's brother, Lonnie. ~Rita~

Talked to Carol and yes the lady was  Ralphs
cousin. Her dad was Grandpa Treadways brother Herbert.I never knew him. But the two Stover ladies were not close related..

See Ya,  Goldie

Sunday, February 12, 2012

OK, I knew either Goldie or Carol would give us the rest of the story.  You all know, if you still have questions you want answered about the Treadway family, you'd better get them before Goldie and Carol go to Heaven!!  I don't know who else we will ask!!  Goldie and Carol...ya'll don't have to be in no hurry now!  There's Joy too.  She could probably shed some light on things.  It's a good thing to know that Mary and Eliza Stover were not kin, even though they lived in the same community :)

I went to the Osborne Funeral today, as did, Teresa and Steve, Marcia and Lonnie, and the entire Crag Community.  The place was full...I saw alot of Mommy and Daddy's Neighbors.  It was so sad.  Three Coffins in a row...all alike...with a flower arrangement on each.   Norman Fleshman did the service and their cousin prayed.  You DID feel a sense of Community in the room.

Hey,
No the lady was not Grandma Treadway's sisters daughter.Aunt Ollie was married to school teacher named Grafton Williams and they didn,t have any children.
Proably this lady,s mother was a Stover from up the river. You know both great grandmothers were Stovers. they said they were no relation.Great grandma Treadway was Mary Stover and Great grandma Buzzard was Eliza Stover...They proably are related, but you know how we people are..haha
It was awful to hear about the Osbornes. I didn't know Lacy's people, but when the obit was posted..I did know his two brothers... Laton and Melvin were both members of the VFW..

Take care and PRAY for us..
Love  Goldie

~Rita~
Wendy said devin had the cough and crud and I told her I would put him on our blog for prayer!

Obit

I believe this was Daddy's first Cousin??  Wasn't Ollie Grandma Treadway's sister?  I wonder if Daddy was named after her husband?  Just wondering?

I'm planning to go to the Osborne's funeral.  They have opened our road that was blocked last night.

Jeff Briant actually found them Rita.  I remember him saying that he didn't show up for work though.  After they couldn't raise them on the phone, he started calling some of the neighbors and Jeff finally went to check on them Tuesday afternoon. Him and his wife were still up there when I went up after work.  Jeff said that Danny had been to there house to watch the Superbowl.  When he found them Danny still had the same clothes and coat on that he had when he left his house.  Probably came home right in the middle of it all.  Very Sad. :(

Saturday, February 11, 2012

I believe it was Jimmy Bennett who found them, Isn't that right Steve?  Vonda, I believe you went to school with him.  I heard that Michael was supposed to do some work for him that day and when he didn't show up, Jimmy went to check on him.  It is such a tragedy.  I saw Danny at the Dawson Gas Station about 3 Weeks ago and he was telling me that he was working at Bika's  but was going to try to get on where Steve works.  I told him I would pray about that with him!  He was saying how the place just wasn't the same with Daddy and Mommy gone and how much work Steve had to do to keep it like Daddy did.  I told him that it was a full time job and Steve could only work Part-time because he had to work a job.  =)   He seemed happy that Steve was his neighbor again though.

Ruth, from what the neighbor said that found them, the inside of the house had been on fire, mainly in the kitchen. Mike was my age, Danny was a few years older, and Lace was Mom and Dads age. Lace has two sisters that are in there eighties. I work with there first cousin Timmy. His dad was Laces brother. It appears to have happened Sunday night and they were found Tuesday afternoon. The boys were probably trying to get Lace out of the house from the looks of where they found them. He was bedfast.

Hi Everyone, Alice had a good day, she was able to get the port installed, eat a baked potato, peas, ice cream and take the first treatment. We will wait now and see what the chemo does for the nest 18-24 hrs. Hopefully we will be headed home tomorrow.

Love and Prayers
Joe and Alice
so sorry to hear about your uncle Teresa , and about the Osborns. We just never know. Alice so glad to hear you are keeping some food down .praise the Lord .
No David hasn,t gotten a room mate yet but im sure it wont be long.Love you all.Have a Good Day In The Lord.
I am so very sorry to hear about the Osbornes. Were these all children of Lacy and Helen, or is Lacy the father? Helen and Danny stayed with us in Charleston when Danny had some kind of surgery years ago. Are they all the family, or were there others away from home?

Alice, I am so glad to hear that you are able to keep some food down. My prayer this morning was that your chemo not be hard on you.
Alice, that is good news for you! So glad the food is staying down. Praise the Lord! Daniel, where are you staying while you are there with Alice? In the room with her? I hate that she has that 3 or 4 hours drive back. Will she have to come back to Louisville for each treatment?

I was so sorry to hear about the Osbourns. And your uncle too, Teresa.

UBreaking News in Three Counties Keeps Emergency Responders Busy - Beckley, Bluefield & Lewisburg News, Weather, Sports

Danny, Michael, and lacy Osborne ( mommy and daddys neighbors) were all found dead in their home. Apparently a fire inside their home with smoke inhalation. Steve went up and may be able to shed a little more light on it.

Happy Birthday!

We are having a birthday get together at Meadow Grove Baptist Church on February 18th from 2-4 for Jesse, Danny, and Jacob. We will have lots of food and lots of cake! No gifts! Hope to see everyone there!
I continue to pray for Alice and for you too, Danny H.

Teresa, I am sorry to hear about your Uncle Wayne. Likewise, Vonda, we were sorry to hear of David's roommate's passing. Has David gotten a new roommate yet?

It has been brought to my attention that our vital family information (which we tracked in the book we made for Daddy) has not been updated since before Marleigh's birth which was on March 8, 2010 (Monica, correct me if I am wrong). We would like birthdates (of those born into the family or added by marriage), marriage dates and divorce dates (of course I have Mommy's and Daddy's death dates). Those of you who have had any of these occur in your family please e-mail that information to me or put it on the blog and I will update that for everyone.

Trish, I, too, really like the blog's new look. Why, if I were just half as technically savvy as you are, I might be dangerous!

Monday, February 6, 2012

Daniel and Alice you are both in our prayers and we love you guys.

Also, I would like for you all to pray for my family we lost my Uncle Wayne this evening at about 10:30. He was a great man who will be greatly missed.
Happy birthday Kaiden!
Rita, remember this:

Children are often spoiled because no one will spank Grandma.

Happy Birthday, Kaiden.
Update on Alice
Hi Everyone, Alice's condition is improving, but slowly, today we are supposed to try a liquid diet again. They aren't putting in a port for chemo today , They are going to wait until she is feeling better because Alice said they were =). We refused to have it put in today until at least she can eat and keep it down.We may be able to be discharged by Thursday.
God is GOOD
Love and Prayers
Daniel, Give Alice our love and let her know she is in our prayers...You too Danny!!  Can you believe it!??  Today my baby boy turns 4.  Where has the time gone?  And how did he get so spoiled in such a short time!!  Somebody needs to step up and take responsibility for that!! =)  Happy Birthday Kaiden!

~Rita~
He does but he has mommy's chin.
