Obituary

Hazel Goodson

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Hazel Goodson, 87, of Fredericksburg passed away at Golden Living Center on Tuesday, January 24, 2012.

She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Bristersburg, Va.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Bruno who died during the Vietnam War serving his country.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Bruno of Stafford, Va., and Ronnie Bruno of Naoma; a sister, Geraldine Dorsey; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday morning, Jan. 28, 2012, at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Beckley, with Pastor David Minturn officiating. Burial will follow.

Arrangements by Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville.

Dr. Visit

Hi Everyone, We just got back from the Dr. and they set Alice up for surgery on the 2 of Feb. at 9.30 at the University Hospital of Louisville. The Dr. said the surgery could take 3 to 5 hrs. Please keep us in your prayers.

So sorry to hear about Hazel, we will be praying for the family

I got this from our cousin tonight. I am going to try and go to the services at the cemetery and will send flowers from all of us. You know they were born within a year of each other and died almost the same way.

> I do not know if Bill has contacted you or not but Hazel passed away yesterday around 5:00. She had been in the hospital and then transfered to a nursing home. She had so many problems I don't know what it was in the end, she just went to sleep.
> There will be only a grave side service on Saturday at 11:00. She is going to be buried right out side of Beckley at Mount Tabor Cemetery where Roger, Uncle Wood, Aunt Gertie and Peachie are buried. I am taking Mom in on Friday and coming home on Sunday. We are staying at Americas Best Value Inn on Harper Road.

While we were gone this weekend, Mr. Wonderful (aka Steve) and Mr.
Wonderful II (aka Blain) put in a new Countertop and sink for me.
Blain talked to his mom, and she said the one they took out was at
least 40 years old. I think they got their moneys worth. This one is
cheap too, so if I get half the time out of this one that they did, I
will be satisfied. Bobbie, Don't you love the sink?? I'm going to
buy new barstools (3) if I can find some that will suit my decor! LOL

I want to thank ALL my brothers and sisters for the letters you all sent for my birthday, they were wonderful and i will treasure them forever, and I Love you all more than I can explain, there are no words to do it justice. you all were to me more like my kids , than brothers and sisters. I guess that came from growing up as you all did.and being a second Mom to you while Mommy helped Daddy with all the stuff on the farm, But i would not trade it for anything, And Thank you all Again. Hi Everyone, We got the computer back up. Just to let everyone know we are going to University Hosp. in Louisville Ky. tomorrow. We are seeing a Oncologist and we don't know if they will keep us or not. Thanks for all of the prayers, and continue to pray for us. We will try to keep you informed.

This was our trip to Vonda's. We went to church with Vonda and the
gazebo was in her church. We had a really good time. I have never
went Thrift Store Shopping at 7:30 pm, but there's a first time for
everything!!

I spoke with Alice and Daniel and they said to tell everyone that
their Internet is messed up and that's why they can't post on the
blog. They thank you for all your prayers and Alice said to put her
on every Prayer Chain you know of. She is scheduled to see a
Specialist in Louisville, KY on Wednesday. They should have their
Internet up and Running soon.

Monica,Shawn and I watched the movie last night. I can say the Kendrick brothers are on fire for the Lord! Their work is surely changing lives. I am going to let the girls watch it tonight.Thank you to my aunties for giving mom the surprise of her life. She needed it. Trish we missed you very much. W are praying for you and Danny. We will be praying for both of you Daniel and Alice.  Danny and Trish, we are still praying for you both.  So since they don't want to see Danny until a month and no more chemo for now, does that mean things are looking better/doing better?  Mark and I watched the movie "Courageous" tonight. It was soooo good, I cried my eyes out!!  I'm sure most of you have seen the trailer for it but I posted it above just in case you haven't.  It came out on DVD Tuesday.  Several churches around here have played it.  Love to all

We just found that the Dr. believes Alice has some type of cancer in the abdomen or possibly in the uterus. We are going tomorrow to see the Dr. bout a biopsy to see what kind. Please pray for us.

Amen and Amen!  We need to remember Trish and Danny today, as well.  I believe it is their Dr. Appts in Charlottesville.  It's times like these that we really miss Mommy, huh?  She was always a phone call away and just talkin' to her made you feel better.  But I remember a few years back, Bobbie said, "We are going to have to start praying for our own families, because Mommy ain't always going to be here."  Not that we can't pray for each other, but the point she was making was that we counted almost entirely on Mommy's prayin'.  I'm glad she taught us that we could pray too.

Prayer Request

Blain's cousin, Tommy Carpenter, was crushed by a continuous miner.  He was under it doing electrical work, (He's an electrician) and "the boom" fell and crushed him.  It broke his jaw, knocked out his teeth, broke his ribs and I'm not sure what else, except he is bleeding from his liver.  He is in Charleston General.  Please pray for him and his family.
