Dogbed 2

Recycled suitcase dogbed

Howdy

Good morning

Hello All, Hope everyone is off to a great day. We are cleaning house for Vonda's birthday party today. It was delayed due to a few things.I am also hosting my holiday work party here tomorrow. I made a pot of chicken soup yesterday and use a store bought roasted chicken. It gave it a nice smokey taste :) but it hit the spot. We are trying to get in the holiday spirit here.I don't have my tree up yet but hope to real soon.Does anyone have holiday pictures of Grandma and Grandpa that they can post? I love that I can blog from my phone and see their faces whenever I need a lift. Danny, Shawn has run into a few setbacks with the router he is working on.The program or computer is not working the right way. Think he is getting frustrated:( I haven't seen any pictures on here in a few days. Teresa I made a dog bed out of a old suitcase my friend got in Florida. It needs a few more finishings but happy with the way it turned out. What did you think of those table beds? I will try to post a picture of it. Miss hearing from you all. We are always praying for you Danny and Trish. Addy I hope you feel better soon! Wish I could bring you a few Carmello bars. They make it all better :)

Trish~ I have been waiting to hear.  Tell Danny that we are all going to "Love him through it."  Still praying and believing here!  ~Janet
Trish and Danny we are still praying for a miracle ,Tell Danny not to get discouraged , God is still with him and will be there to see him every step of the way. Love you both , and we are still praying.

Update on danny

Yesterday we went to UVA to see how things were progressing. Turns out the Sarcoma in his lung isn't responding at all to the chemo regimen he is currently on. After reviewing the scans, the lung nodule has grown instead of shrinking, so....back to square one. The oncologist is going to talk to the surgeon and determine whether he needs surgery now or change the chemo, do 2 rounds of it, re scan and see if ITS working and go from there. Also during the course of his scans they discovered he has bilateral pneumonia and started him on antibiotics. The whole day was a horrible mess. We didnt get in anywhere we were supposed to at the time we were supposed to. And it all seemed due to human error or carelessness is more the word.
Needless to say this wasn't what we had hoped for but we are still believing and praying for healing.
Continue to remember us in prayer,
Love and Prayers to all,
Trish

Lorie~  I am sorry that we missed you too.  Lonnie and Steve must have had a full weekend planned, or maybe we should have planned a little better.  So sorry about that.  Next time, we will.  Soon, Olivia will be able to talk to the girls online.  Not sure if that will be good or bad:)  Haha

I bet grandma and grandpa had the best anniversary and...no doubt the most peaceful one yet:)  I miss them so much.  So often I hear myself saying to my kids, "Grandma Treadway says..."  Those are times when I am glad that I sound like my mom.  No comments from the peanut factory, Danny!

Love you all!
Amen for every thing you both said , Mommy was a living testimony for her Lord and Savior
Thank you Bobbie and Julie for your lovely stories about "mommie", I think it such a privilege to be part of the "Treadway" family and to be the daughter-in-law of the finest person I ever met. I love you all!
Know with all that mushy stuff out of the way and before I start to boo-hoo. I wanted to ask each and everyone of my sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, to please send me and updated picture of you and your families. Since this is the old home place and this is still where we all gather I would love to have pictures of my entire family to put on display for everyone to see. I love this family and I'm very proud of my family and would just enjoy having your pictures for all to enjoy. Thank you for your help! God Bless each and everyone of you.
Thank you Julie,
And yes I believe we do know how very special Momma was. I've always thought she was different from other mothers. I don't know why, I didn't know other mothers! But something was unique and just drew you to her. Drew everyone to her! Now I know it was the "Jesus factor!" He has that drawing power! Praise the Lord! But as a little girl I knew she believed in a big God who we couldn't see, but she knew was real. She talked to Him and trusted him for everything.
I remember once she told a Blair or Encyclopedia salesman that she didn't have a medicine cabinet because she trusted her God to take care of her children. One of the kids "skinned" a leg or arm and came to her for care and she didn't have anything. I must have been sitting beside her or standing in the doorway. That is how that witness came about.
When I think of the busyness of my own life, I wonder at the miracle of her! How she stayed in His Presence, fought the devil on every side and kept her home and children going. All at once it seemed! What God requires He will equip us for! She truly lived her scripture from His Word that she claimed for her own "With God All Things Are Possible" Matt. 19:26. Children, let's learn a lesson here and keep claiming!!! I can see many grandchildren coming up the road!

A memory of your mom

I was drinking my coffee this morning when this memory surfaced.
I will write it as it came to me.

I recall a time when Vivian and I had one of our 'chats' during one of 'once a year' visits. She took my hands and said, "Julie, I see God in you more and more everytime I see you." Then she begin to share her life with me and this is what she said.
She shared that as God was transforming her from the life of sin to the life of following Jesus, many people around her thought she was going crazy and said so. She said the more she got to know God, the more she wanted to be like Him. Vivian said, "Julie, they just didn't understand. It hurt when they would say thngs, but I didn't understand what was happening to me and neither did they. I just knew that whatever I felt led to do I was going to do it."
(She continued her discourse with me).
As the transformation continued in her life, people begin to see Jesus in her and realized she ws becoming a different person in Christ. The road was bumpy for her and some didn't believe before they started to see Jesus was directing her and changing her life. She just stayed in His Presence, talking to Him in prayer and listening for His voice to speak to her. The transformation continued and God begin to use her more and more. That was when the burning started coming in her hands when God wanted her to pray for people she said. She said, "Julie, unless a kernal of corn fall into the ground and die, it won't produce ears of corn, will it? Glory to God, Julie! I'm willing to die so I can produce souls."
Now,I, Julie want to say this: Look what a beautiful butterfly your mother became in the Kingdom of God! What a heritage you have.......I hope you know how blessed you are to have had such a mother!
Well, this came to me and I just wanted to share. If any of you......her children are wanting to change more for Christ...maybe you are a bit...well..bewildered...know that your mom was too, but she stayed in His Presence anyway and look at what a blessing she was to so many.
I loved her and miss her and our 'chats'.
Well, I just wanted to share a memory with you.
God Bless,
Julie

Hello

Good morning family! Well I just want to tell Danny that he is loved by me and the girls too. Vonda likes to spend her birthday in WVA and we were all worried that we wouldn't get to see Danny. The girls ask every few days how you are doing Danny. It was so good to be with family.Sorry we missed you and the kids Janet. Lonnie and Steve kept us busy :)Thank you to everyone who opened their home to us. The visit was just too short. We hope to make it down at least twice a year so my girls can stay connected with everyone. I just want to say how blessed I am to have such a large loving family. Shawn is happy too that he has the big family he always wanted. It is so awesome to be able to call or text your loved ones when you need a prayer partner or just one for praise.I also want to thank my aunties for coming to visit mom. You all are good for her spirits. Loved the pictures. Glad we were able to see you if even for a few minutes ;) Bobbie it is never too late to start writing God's goodness down for Marleigh. I bet you could fill quite a few books in no time. That is a great idea for any parent or grandparent. Hope you all have a blessed day. I need to get out of the car and scoot into work for now.

Good morning from Virginia!
Danny, I have been waiting for your testimony! In your time of testing, it sounds like you are holding on to God's promises! YEAH DANNY! You can't go wrong! You encourages me, for we never know when it will be our turn to be under fire! I can see Momma smiling in your direction now with that sweet, warm, knowing smile of hers. If she could she would be saying to you, "I know what you mean, He's been that good to me too!" I believe she is in that cloud of witnesses somewhere! She always thought the world of you, never said anything wayward. Know that we ask God's best for you and Trish always.
You have a great memory, or are you (like Santa) keeping a list! Don't knock it, the list thing works for me!! I'm old! For you young ones, WRITE It DOWN somewhere. I'm older now and I can testify that I wish I had written down bits and pieces of God's goodness to me. I would like to be able to tell little Marleigh about His many acts of kindness to me personally. It is like you said, there are so many.

Shawn, it was nice to hear from you! Danny was truly blessed by all you'lls visit that Sunday. He seemed in awe that you guys thought so much of him! We do love you Trish and Danny.
I will add my thanks to the rest, for all you have done for the Treadway family, especially for all you gave to my Mom and Dad. You lived so close and you were always there for them. Some of that is coming home to you now!

Teresa, your Fall Festival and New Years activities are a go at my house!

See there?  Another Miracle!! I agree with Janet on her NOT making rolls as an act of kindness!! :)

~Rita~
Danny,

As I sit here at school, tears streaming down my face, I can't help but agree completely with what mom said.  And you of all people know what a miracle it is for us to agree on anything.  Haha  You are definitely reaping what you have sewn.  The list of kind acts that you do without even a thought is much longer than the list than the one you just gave.  I am one of the many who has been blessed by your kind heart and although I could never repay you for the love you have shown me, know that I love you with all my heart.  Your testimony is such a blessing.  Just so you know, my NOT making rolls for you was my act of kindness:) LOL

I Love You!
Janet
Danny, wonderful, uplifting testimony! God has provided many Aarons and Hurs to help hold your arms up when you are weary so you can keep winning the battle as Joshua did.

I hope you do not mind, but I copied your post and put it on our company daily message screen. I know it will bless our employees.

I am not close enough to do much for you, but I keep you (and your family) lifted up in prayer.

Teresa, we will not know if we are coming for New Year's until close the time to come as it depends upon work and the weather.
Teresa,
Blain and I will be there and I will bring Baked Burgundy French Onion Soup.  Also, folks, don't forget your white elephant gifts.  We will be reminding you periodically so start roundin' up some good (yeah, right?) stuff.  Please don't buy new stuff...that is not the point of the game...However, if you have some of those...uh...less than desirable gifts left over from Christmas...!!
Danny and Trish, that goes for Blain and I too.  If there is anything you need, or need done..just let us know.  Speaking from experience, I know that sometimes, you just need to be left alone and we don't want to intrude, so we are here if you need us.

~Rita~
Danny~Thanks so much for making me cry like the big baby that I am. Loved your testimony about God's goodness and yes you are loved by many people. If you guys need anything we are just a call away.

Treadway Clan~ I realize how busy everyone is, especially this time of year but I could use a little more input about New years (who is coming, so I know what to do) and What everyone thinks about our Family Fall Festival. Thanks everyone and I love each and everyone of you very much. So thankful for this family and the love that we share.

Hey, Hey, Hey

Well, Danny, you are blessed & rightfully so. I enjoyed talking with you on our recent visit as I always do. It's only to show you how loved you are by many. I hope to visit with you soon & maybe get some shop time in ( not shopping time, unless we need to go to Lowe's) Congrats on your wonderful kids (Tanner??? Library???). You have a god-sent soulmate. And WHERE'S THE ROLLS AT???

Shawn...
Yes, Danny God is good and he is taking good care of you all, and we love and hold you and Trish up in prayer every day.you are always in our heart and prayers. Love you.
Monica, I too, had to get out the kleenex box!  The first thing I thought when I read what you wrote Danny, is that you are just reaping what you've sown!  You are a man of few words but a man of action.  The list of things you've done for others would be longer, by far, than the list of things others have done for you.  God is good and He never fails us.  The pic of you and Anita is so good.   We love you.

~Rita~

danny and anita

My mascara is running!!  Danny, up to this point (as far as the blog goes), you haven't been a man of many words but today you touched my heart and made me boo-hooze like a baby!!  Thanks :P  I would just like to know "where you gettin' them rolls?"  It sounds like they are made with a touch of heaven lol.  In reality they probably are and with lots of love as well.  Send some more pics our way.  Love you

Thanks

I love this idea Teresa!!  I do agree that it may be to cool for the lil' ones if we do it in October.  I like combining Labor Day/Fall Festival and having it for the whole Labor Day weekend.  Would you be able to plant the pumpkins seeds early enough to where they would be ready for carving on Labor Day?  I don't know if you have to plant them at a certain time or not.  I can think on some games for the kids between now and then.  Mark and I have to work Dec 31, that's our last day that week, so we won't be able to come.  It sounds like it's going to be nice though.  I like the soup idea :)
Sounds like a plan coming togather to me :)
We live close so it doesn't matter either way.  I am for the White Elephant/Christmas Carol/Soup for New Years...All sounds good to me.

~Rita~
We can do a white elephant at Christmas/New Years, what is a Treadway gathering without white elephant gift exchange?!!!??!?
If we replace our family reunion on Labor Day with the Fall festival in October, some people may be prohibited from coming because they would not have time off from work. Also, it could be quite cold and bad that late in the year. I would vote to still have it Labor Day, but our schedules are such that we can do whatever the majority thinks.

I love the idea of everyone bringing a crockpot full of soup for New Year's. Do you plan to do another white elephant at Christmas or not?

Treadway Fall Festival

I was just wanting to run an idea past the Treadway clan. I was thinking that it would be nice to have our own Fall Festival right here at the home place. I was thinking that we could have a hay ride, corn hole, make apple butter, have lots of games for the lil' ones(would need some ideas from those with lil' ones) and even have games for those not so lil' ones. Rita even suggested that I throw out some pumpkin and gourd seeds in the orchard and the lil' ones and big ones could go and pick their own pumpkins and carve them.
I was thinking it would be nice to have it the third weekend in October, this would take the place of the Family Reunion that we have Labor Day weekend. If October is not work out for everyone we could still have it Labor Day weekend but it would be Family Reunion/Fall Festival. I would also like to have it for the entire weekend not just a few hours one day. People travel a long ways to see each other and then they only spend a few hours together, we don't get together that often, so for those that can we will just have a weekend long celebration. I think it would be a "hoot".
Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Oh, by the way we would still have the white elephant then also, everyone seems to enjoy it.

Before I let everyone go I also wanted to invite everyone that can to a Christmas/New Years Party Saturday, December 31 at 1:00. I would like to suggest that everyone bring their favorite soup (in a crock pot) or finger foods and your favorite drinks. Please let me know if this works out for everyone or if you plan on attending so I will know what to do.

It Sure does.

Doesn't the following make you think of Mommy:

I am part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.

The die has been cast. The decision has been made. I have stepped over the line. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is in God’s hands. I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, the bare minimum, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, frivolous living, selfish giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, applause, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, the best, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith. I lean on Christ’s presence. I love with patience, live by prayer, and labor with the power of God’s grace.

My face is set. My gait is fast, my goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my Guide is reliable, and my mission is clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, shut up, let up, or slow up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and spoken up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till he comes, give until I drop, speak out until all know, and work until he stops me.

And when he returns for his own, he will have no difficulty recognizing me. My banner is clear: I am a part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.

Patrick Madrid
1. Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble; it is a "steering wheel" that directs us in the right path throughout life.

2. Do you know why a car's windshield is so large and the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.

3. Friendship is like a book. It takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

4. All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it--they will not last. If going wrong, don't worry--they can't last long either.

5. Old friends are like gold! New friends are like diamonds! If you get a diamond, don't forget the gold. Because to hold a diamond, you always need a base of gold.

6. Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend--not the end!"

7. When God solves your problems, you have faith in His abilities; when God doesn't solve your problems, He has faith in your abilities.

8. A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing your eyesight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision."

9. When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes when you are safe and happy, remember than someone has prayed for you.

10. Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles; it takes away today's peace.
