We are making apple butter with all those apples Mommy had canned.
You can't help but notice who the lazy one in the bunch is! Blain,
being the religious man that he is, and Knowing that Sunday is a day
of rest....Well, He wouldn't have it any other way. We started at 5
this morning and we made biscuits and had a sample about 9. We're
having Chili and Cornbread for lunch, if any of you want to run up!
We'll post more later. It is the perfect day for it except for the
wind. We had to put it between the buildings but Blain said, the
closer to the woodshed, the better. Much closer and we would be IN
the woodshed!

Good morning all. We just wanted to let everyone know we will be coming down for a visit from the 20th to the 23rd.Leaving out on the 24th. We will be staying with Lonnie and Marcia.We hope to see any of you that can come and visit with us. We would like to celebrate Butter's 10th birthday too which is on the 23rd. Janet the girls really want to see your kids and any of their cousins that can drop in. This will pobably be it for us until next year. We are looking forward to seeing everyone. Trish the girls were SO mad that I hung up with you and THEY didn't get to talk. Love you all!!

So when James says, “Be doers of the Word and not just hearers”, he is saying that when we discover a promise, we should mix faith with it. In other words, just do it, because behind the revelation of the promise, God’s intent is that you would have life and have it more abundantly. He’s not trying to rule you or dominate you; He’s trying to bless you. When you discover a promise in the Word of God don’t wonder, “Why? Why can’t I? Hey All

Monica and Lorie, I loved the pics.  Teresa, I am glad you are back on here.  It's been really quiet lately.  I really like the slide idea on the hill side.  I bet Steve could probably get some help from say, Lonnie and Shawn, and Teresa, you could have your own fall festival.  Throw out some pumpkins seeds out on the hillside below the orchard and by Oct., you would have plenty for decoration.  You could rig up something for a hayride up in the woods, make you up some Apple Cider, incorporate some help from your family and friends, and you would have a wonderful Fall Event.  Maybe even a Craft Show.  O What Fun!  The family could make plans to come, enjoy, and help clean up. =)  We could even make Apple Butter.  

I love this time of year...The leaves are beautiful on the Mtn and the weather couldn't be nicer.  It is Soup time and I can't wait to see what Ruth is Cookin' Up!~!  She must be cookin' up somethin' with all them recipes!

Danny, We are still praying for you and the rest of the family.  Keep agreeing with what God says,  no matter what things look like.  God says that by His stripes, you were healed.  Praise God!

I love all the new pics of the kids on here. Monica~Marleigh is just the cutest and she doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. I hope that was mud she was picking off. I will get Steve right on that slide thing, it will only be project 586 maybe. haha So many projects, so little time. Definitely have to put safety features on it so nobody gets hurt. (Addy)

Lorrie~I also enjoyed seeing your girls on here, hope they had a great time visiting their pawpaw.

Me and Steve mowed both fields Saturday and Sunday and cut down some trees and bushes and cleaned off the dead flowers coming up the hill, so all in all we had a pretty productive weekend. Have to weed eat the yard and maybe cut down some apple trees that are dead out in the orchard this week. My kids are coming in for bridge day this weekend and I think Kaye, Billy, Nicki, and Charley are coming also. (Maybe Kim's parents too) We should have a house full this weekend.... I love it. Hope the weather is nice, it gets really cold on that bridge.

Very funny Monica! yesterday I was joking with one of my students and he said, "You better watch it! I'll throw you down a snow bank!" The nerve!

This is the marshmallow train.  These are the barrells I think they cut the sleds from for the slides.  Nana and Mar rode together.  We all took a hay ride with the big tractor.  Mar found her a little pumpkin.  After a few tries she was able to keep a good hold of it and carry it around.  We had a blessed day and it was nice to have that quality time together especially for this season :)  Love to all, MP3

Marleigh's favorite thing at the Pumpkin Patch was the slide.  I don't know what it's made out of but it's pretty ingenious!!  They had cut little sleds out of the white water barrells (you'll see in a few minutes) for the kids to sit on.  There was a rope that they held onto like a regular sled.  Once you put them on it, they took off!!  Mar didn't go as fast as the others since she's smaller but it surprised me the speed that she did have.  It was perfect for her :)  And she threw a fit when we moved on to the next area lol.  I think we could manufacture one of these on one of Steve's hills (hint, hint) :P  Of course, due to past events there will have to be safety gear, Addy.

After the festival we went to the Pumpkin Patch.  Marleigh wasn't a bit afraid of the animals.  I think she could grow up to have her own grooming business lol!!  She was picking stuff off of the animals and throwing it on the ground.  I choose to believe that it was mud she was picking off the calf :P

Hey there!!  I hope this finds everyone doing well on this beautiful day the Lord has made for us :)  This morning all of my family went to the Fall Festival.  We got there at 10 and the fog was still hanging around but the sun made its way through around 10:30.  One of the churches there were making apple butter.  I don't think I've ever seen it made before!

Not sure if you can see them but there are little tiny birds all over the outside dining area off from the cafeteria. There are tons but none will hold still for a picture. Going home tomorrow when the last bag of chemo finishes probably around 4pm. Still no sickness here:) we have plenty of fluid though. His legs look like tree trunks. his next appt is set up for the 17th. he loves the cards everyone has sent. We have them sitting up in the window. thank you all for the prayers.

I have a special prayer request.  I have a friend, Dr. Brad Lane, who lost his maternal grandmother the 21st.  Before they had the funeral, his mother died also.  I went to the funeral today and when I talked to him, he said, "You've got to pray for me, please, I've got to get through this."  He was close to his grandmother, like our kids were with Mommy.  His mother was 55.  He is from Mullens, WV.   I know he would appreciate your prayers.  He is a christian and he believes in prayer.

Ruth I have some haven't had my head wrapped around sending them.

Danny just had pizza for lunch with applesauce for dessert. He is feeling good. Has almost 24 hours of chemo behind him now. One of his doctors came in this morning and asked him how his treatments were going and if he was sick or rather how sick. Danny told him he wasn't getting sick. He wasn't going to allow it. The doctor looked at him a little funny and then just continued with his exam. As he was leaving he looked back smiled and said "no sickness allowed, I like that".

He got several ecards this morning tHat I have put in the window, all with such encouraging words!

He didn't sleep at all last night. Up to the bathroom getting rid of fluid all night. But PRAISE GOD no sickness!

Trish, and Danny our prayers and thoughts are with you all, God is still in control, just trust him for all your needs , he is always faithful.

Round 1 consists of 3 drugs. Adriamycin ( aka Red Devil) is running 24/7 for 3 days and then ifofsamide runs over an hour x4 doses and Mesna which runs 24/7 x 4 doses. We will be here til Saturday this time. 8th floor at UVA. Beautiful view of the mountains. He will get treatments every 21 days. So it looks like our next treatment will be the 18th of October. 24 hours after we come home he has to go to a clinic and get a drug called neulasta for his white count. I am able to stay in his room so I am thankful for that. Thanks for all your prayers,

Is he in Charlottesville? How long does he have to say in the hospital? How long between treatments?

Danny says this is his luxurious hotel. As you can see thats his 5 star meal in the background! JUST started chemo! I keep telling him he is not gonna get sick so you guys can help me with that!

Matthew placed fourth out of about 30 in the tractor pulls and both kids pulled in the tractor pulls.  Sounds redneck, I know, but we really had FUN!

I was listening to a minister over the weekend (Bill Winston), and he used a scripture for healing that I had not heard used in that context before:

Romans 8:11 - But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Danny, it is a fact that you have cancer, but it ain't the TRUTH! What God says about that is the truth!

Good Morning Danny. What does one say to another when they are on an Emotional Roller Coaster?
I, who have gone through Cancer have no real answer except to share a part of my own story and how I talked to God.
“Lord, here is the Problem…Here is my need…Here is my desire to be whole again.
Lord, I refuse Fear. Fear will only destroy my wobbly faith because I see the doubt, hear the doubt from the lips of my wonderful doctor.”
Danny, Trish, Sometimes my Faith level was High ….Sometimes I had to spend time with God to resurrect it.
One thing I do KNOW for sure and Certain is that God took what Faith I had to offer for that day and He told me to accept HIS REST and I did.
I gave this to Him who loves me most….on a daily basis. Then I continued to LIVE…without Self-pity…without Depression. I did stupid things to make myself laugh to rise above any inkling of Depression. (“A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.)” – Proverbs 17:22 (Amplified Bible)

I sang the scripture which says, “Whose report will you believe? I will believe the report of the Lord. Whose report will you receive? I will receive the report of the Lord. His report says I am healed…His report says I am filled…His report says I am free…His report brings Victory.”
God was and still is FAITHFUL! When I did my best on a daily basis; He mixed my sometimes meager portions with His best and gave me just enough for that day.
I was told I could not live past 3 years because I had Carcinoma and endometrial cancers at the same time.
12 and 1 /2 years later I still give Him who loves me, the Faith I have for the day and He mixes it with His Faithfulness and with the Stripes He bore for my healing…..I still live.
But these can seem like only words to you….. in your present state.
May I suggest that you print out all of the ‘encouraging words’, all the ‘I am Praying for you’ notes…..put them in a booklet and read them. I read my cards over and over and over……I breathed in the strength that people were offering me…..I would lift them up to my Lord and simply say…. “Lord, I believe and I Rest my case”.
Children,I offer my Prayers in with the mix of so many others.
I love you and lift you, Trish and your precious children up before God with you. Jesus Never Fails!
