I don't know how many of you have ever been to a Ripley's Aquarium. If you haven't there is a clear tunnel that goes under the water allowing you to see all the marine life. It's like you're walking through the ocean. While we were going through the tunnel we came across this shark that was laying on top of the tunnel. I don't know if he was taking a needed break or asleep but I didn't waste no time getting through that section!! He looked like he might of been on the hefty side (lol) and he was on one of the seems :P The jellyfish were pretty and so bright!!

Marleigh loved sitting in the water on the shore. We had her facing the ocean and when the waves came in they would turn her sideways. She would use her feet to turn herself back around and continue to play in the sand. She didn't seem to care to much about looking out at the ocean and the sound of the waves didn't bother her either. She was content to shovel sand in her bucket and pick the sea shells out :)

After we finished up at the pier we went and rode the "Skywheel" (aka-very big ferris wheel). I believe it's 200 feet tall. The cabins are enclosed and the doors lock once you get on. There is an emergency button you can push if need be during the ride. They are also air conditioned!! It was nice and the view was awesome. I would've liked to have gotten more pics out the back of my window as we went up but my knees started aching so I just faced forward, out over the city :P When we were walking out the exit gate the guy told us that it had only been up for 8 weeks and we were newbies, that made us feel even better lol :)

Julie and Goldie, I send my condolences as well.

Happy Birthday Skita, Deagan and Timmy!!! I do feel sorry for the raccoons, they looked so cute :( I'm sure they were enjoying your garden lol. I do appreciate you thinking of me and not posting the after pics :P

Mom, Dad, Mark, Marleigh and I went to Myrtle Beach over the weekend. We had a wonderful time. It was HOT, but it was still nice to get away. Marleigh loved it I do believe. Sunday morning we went out on the pier. Marleigh became quite fascinated with her shadow, it was funny!!

Happy late Birthday Rita, and Deagan! I was thinking about you tho'! I was with Marleigh at the beach!
Julie and Goldie, I'm so sorry about your brother, I remember him as well.
OK, what do I need to bring to our gathering? What don't we have yet? What do we need?

Happy Birthday to our Grandson, Deagan Alexander Treadway

Happy Birthday, Deagan. Today he is three years young..

Hey everyone!  Remember me? I haven't read the blog in a really long time, but I did try to skim back through to catch up.  I do have a couple of questions and sorry if they are repetitive.  I am behind.
Steve and Teresa~  I can assume that Teresa is working at the Greenbrier?  Where is Steve now?
Mom~  A puppy?  Really?  It would have to stay at Addy's.

Is anyone bringing Nachos and Cheese to Labor Day?

We just got back from camping at summersville and the kids had such a good time.  I posted pictures on FB.  Love you all

Rita
Goldie can't shed any light on the situation for a bit. She is still in Oklahoma. Our brother, Leroy passed away.
Julie

I believe the fence is good. Its probably the corner where we took it down to dig the graves. I will try to look into making it permenant again.

Steve Treadway

Hey Ya'll
Ya know how Mommy used to say that Mary and Alma would show up sometimes just when she needed them?  Well, Mary showed up at my house, shelled the remainder of my peas while I canned downstairs and then she made me blackberry dumplin's!!   I know ya'll are lickin' your lips!  I had 31 pts. of the shelled peas.
Now, About the cemetery!  Wanda, Alma's daughter, told me at church last night, that when they went up there to mow, Eddie Hampton's cows had gotten through the fence into the cemetery and knocked over some tombstones.  Myrtle's family are the ones mowing now...Wanda and her family, Mary's family, Lester...What do you all think about us (the Treadway's) getting a fence put around it.  If we don't, the cows will run on the cemetery.  I don't think we want that.
Wanda also told me, that the cemetery has extra land alotted that can be fenced in.  Of course, we would have to probably have it surveyed and such and such.  Goldie told Mary also,  that Eddie was responsible for keeping the road up.  Mary said that it was maybe in the contract when Eddie bought the place.  Goldie, can you shed some light on the situation. Just thought I'd throw this out there.  What do ya'll think??

I hope you can see these little varmits. They were in the Pear tree
beside my "Corn Patch" this morning. I am happy to say they have,
since, met their demise, thanks to Blain's dad. There were 5 of them.
I was going to post "before and after" pics, but I knew Monica
probably couldn't have handled that. LOL
I will be on the lookout for "Mama" to return tonight to fetch her
little ones, AND GET A SNACK of corn!!!!

Yes, this is the family reunion like we had at our house. I do not know if any of Vonda's family is coming.
I have a question about Labor Day get-together.
Is this the Family Reunion like you had at Ruth's house? Is Vonda any of her family coming?
Just wondering since there was mention of the White Elephant exchange.
Thanks for the recipe Rita.
Love to all,
Julie

I'll make the strawberry cakes for Labor Day. Ya think 2 will be enough??  Steve, I'll get you one this week. Probably Wednesday evening.  My garden is coming ready all at once.  Guess that's expected when you PLANT it all at once.  I put 25 Qts. of Sugar Snap Peas in the Freezer and the vines are still producing quite a bit.  I'm giving them to everybody.  My other row of Peas (The kind you shell) needs picked today.  Then my Green Beans will be ready about Thursday or Friday.  My garden is the prettiest I've had in some time.  We've had plenty of rain.  Teresa, How is work going?  Meet anybody famous?  Has Tiger Woods stopped by?  Steve, When do you start your new job?  David, I hope Devon can come with you.

Well the strawberry cake was my favorite cake also, maybe it was because we liked the wild strawberries so well. but I would love to have one that was Mommy's best cake ever.
Rita, that cake with 7-minute strawberry icing was always my favorite cake too. So Timmy loves it and so does Steve. Sounds like you need to make one of those for the labor Day get together, maybe two of them since we all love them. If you want, I'll bring the strawberries and cake mixes.
On the subject of Labor Day get-together, I'll bring more onions in case Daniel doesn't bring enough, . . . nah, just kidding! I'll bring a package of weiners & buns, a bottle of mustard, and my drink, green tea.
Steve so you have room for me to sleep in the basement? Julie is not going to be with me, maybe Boost Boy will but if he does it won't matter where he sleeps.
Teresa I'll pick up that table that used to belong to Julie's Mom & Dad. Julie would like for me to collect any pictures of our family that we might have sent to Mom & Dad.
Love you all
Hey Rita, instead of cinnamon rolls you can just make me one of those strawberry icing cakes!

Thank you all for the Birthday Wishes.  I sure don't feel 51, and I know I don't act 51.  No comments out there in blogland.
Timmy, I could taste the cake with the icing.  That was always my favorite.  I'm going to have to make me one!!    Mark I love the pic...Are you guys at the beach?  Beautiful!

May peace break into your home and
May thieves come to steal your debts.

May the pockets of your jeans

Become a magnet for $100 bills.

May love stick to your face like Vaseline

And may laughter assault your lips!

May happiness slap you across the face

And may your tears be that of joy

May the problems you had

Forget your home address!

In other words ...........

May God bless each and every one

Of you and yours!

Happy Birthday Wishes....

Thanks to everyone, for the Birthday Wishes. I think this has been one of the best, ever. Cindy made a wonderful meal and topped it off with the Cake and Strawberry 7 minute frosting..like Mom use to make when we were kids...Cindy did add a double dose of Strawberry's. mmmmmmmmmmmm We love it up here in the mountains and though it is a bit of a drive, It is well worth it. NOT as bad as Rita and Blain's..Ha! We are in our busiest time of year here with work related to the College students moving in and out. Hopefully will get a break in September.
Love you guys. Hope to see you soon. Tim and Cindy P.S. Happy Birthday, Rita.
I made it home finally yesterday evening around 6. Danny and I are headed to UVA this morning for his CAT scan and oncology visit.

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Happy Birthday Timmy.  Sorry a day late.  I did think of you yesterday though.  Blain had to go to Ronceverte for his annual Stress Test and Cardiology visit...EKG..ECHO..Blood Work.  Trish, I didn't know you were over at the hospital or I would have come over to keep you company.  Blain was at the Dr. for 4 1/2 hours.  His appt. wasn't until 11:15 and he didn't get called back until 11:30 so I was over there all day.  And with The Greenbrier Classic going on and all the traffic at the fair grounds, I didn't dare venture out very far.  I wish I'd known.  When do they think you will get to come home?
Timmy, I thought of your birthday when I dated my check at the Drs. office.  HaHa
Bobbie, I do cherish my seat at church.  Sometimes when I get down by the seat to pray, I can visualize her kneeling right down there beside me.  One time, I could even feel her take ahold of my hand!!  Now, that was special and Yes, I am holding her pastor up in prayer, as we should ALL hold our pastor's up in prayer.
Tomorrow is Olivia's (and Emily's) birthday, so I am off to shop for a present.  How about a puppy!  A blood hound...wouldn't she just love one of those?  Or is that Marleigh?
I picked over my shelling peas and canned 4 pints (they were not quite full enough yet) but I'm picking my sugar snap peas this evening.  We have been eating alot of those.  They are soooo good.  I think they are coming close to being as good as fresh green beans.  I wish I could share a mess with all of you.
Where does the word "Mess" as in quanity, of food, come from.  Ruth, get right on that!

 ~Rita~

Congratulation Steve on the new job, God is Good Glad you are feeling better Trish, And Monica glad you all are having a great turn out for VBS, our's was over the 14th. but had a good turn out and the girls loved it.Hope everyone is doing well.

Johnny Cash - You Are My Sunshine

This song reminds me of Grandpa. The way he plays guitar sounds a lot like how Grandpa did. =)
Mark is not a participant of the dressing up lol!!! I had wore my flip flops to church tonight and decided to go bare foot after I got there. One of the kids asked me where my shoes were and I told him I had been chasing camels and didn't want to get camel poo on them :P We had 6 new kids tonight which made the count 31 I believe. They seem to be enjoying it and the weather is holding out for us as well :)
Congratulations on your new job Steve!!! That is great news, Praise the Lord!!!
I have to agree with mom, Rita you are truly blessed to be able to sit where Grandma and Grandpa did. What a great feeling that must be and to hear people still talking about her faithfulness and unending prayers makes me proud to be her Grand-daughter. Love to all :)
Someone is praying because i feel so much better:)
Ate a little broth and jello for supper and so far it doesnt come up but i
cant stay out of the BR. Need lots of ur prayers

Trish, let me know if there is anything we can do to help.

Happy birthday Timmy.

I start my new job in 3 weeks. I will be the Maintenance supervisor at New River Hardwood mill in Beckley behind Sams. Its a lot more responsibility, but its a nive raise and affordable insurance.

Steve Treadway

Trish, well be praying for you and Danny, hope you will be ok.
Being admitted to the hospital to get some IV fluids and antinausea meds.
My phone is dying so wont be able to talk any more
Happy Birthday Timmy! Hope you have a blessed day with everyone you come across today being extra ordinarily nice to you!
And yes Rita, you are blessed in a unique way apart from the rest of us; to be able to go to Mommy's church and sit in "her actual seat". I hope you know that! While you're holding up her prayer banner over her pastor of course! In your lifetime you may see her prayers come to fruition! Who knows it may have been one of her prayers for you!!!
How did the pea shucking go? I know you missed Teresa terribly :)
And yes my yard sale Walmart shower curtain worked wonders for me, but I still had to stop teaching and tell Landon, "I'm not Ms Barbara, I'm Jesus mommy and NO! You can't play with my kitchen tools." To show how fragile baby Jesus was, we passed around brown farm eggs and let them drop about a foot above, into their hands. Something about that was so funny to Marleigh and she just cackled and laughed! But we had a good time as always with the kids! So here's a shout out for VBS!

Trish, I like the new look here on the blog! I'm glad that Danny's treatments are coming along and are not intolerable. Wow! Someone in front of him that he knows to talk too, Isn't that just like God! I'm so sorry that you are sick again. We are praying for the both of you. I was thinking about your church the other day, did you get a new pastor yet?
I loved what you said about the flowers on the side of the road!!!!!!!!! I've often thought that very thing. I'm talking about the beautiful blue ones that grow so tall and have oodles of flowers on them. One day I picked some and carried them to the kitchen to put in water, and they began to loose their color it seemed just as soon as I picked them. It adds new meaning to the saying "Just bloom where your planted" because God knows best! He sees the big picture after all. It is as you say, They have gone through so much and against that backdrop, they are so much more beautiful! Just like our Mom!
Everyone have a blessed day today!

Happy Birthday Timmy, Hope you have many many more

Good morning or good night, whichever your case may be at 245am. I am really wishing it was good night. Can't sleep. I have had Dannys stomach virus since sat. We went to pipestem to see the Dixie melody boys and first we went tO eat at bob Evans. I couldn't finish my meal for feeling sick and had to throw up during the concert. But they were good. I love to hear quartets sing.
Danny was supposed to go to UVA Monday for a body scan and see the oncologist but I just couldn't stay out of the bathroom long enough. So we r going thursday And will learn what he has planned for him. Radiation is going well. They have people lined up every 15 min to get a dose. Teresas uncle, Wayne Fugate, is the one ahead of Danny. Turns out he is a talker and they have a lot to chat about. He graduated from Smoot in 65 so he catches up on all the goings on about town.
I really liked the testimony from Mommy's church. I have been thinking of them a lot on a daily basis of just how they did things and how I wished I had listened to more of what they told me. This is a selfish one but I had to tell it. The last few years when she could still cook and after I had got sick there wasn't much she could do but pray for me. So one day she called and I had been sick with the stomach bug and I could tell she wanted to come over and DO. Wash the dishes or fold laundry, that was her favorite. I told her I could taste some of her potato soup and cornbread. Nothing else appealed but that did, she made it and daddy brought it over. So Sunday I was still feeling sick but kept thinking about that potato soup so I asked tanner if he could make some of grandmas potato soup. His reply was why would I make that if I can't eat it? He is on the low carb diet! All I can say for him is he better hope he doesn't get sick:)
We had a wonderful gentle rain yesterday. I grabbed my umbrella and took off in the rain. My insides felt really bad and I was kind of afraid to get far from a BR but it was so peaceful. It was a welcome relief after all the hot weather we have had. One observation I made was that it's amazing the weeds that manage to grow where cars travel the most, Right on the edge of the road where cars are pushed off the road. And then as ugly and scraggly a weed after being run over, God manages to put a bloom on it.

Monica you and Bobbie look like naturals in that get up. But I am wondering where is marks costume?
Our VBS started this evening. The theme is "Hometown Nazareth, where Jesus was a kid". Mom is doing the Bible Class part and I am her counterpart :) We decorated her room up as the house that Jesus grew up in. With that being said, mom is Mary (the mother of Jesus) and I am Eunice (her nosey, unbelieving neighbor :) ). Mom and I were getting dressed up in our attire right before they started the introduction. We went into the fellowship hall where all the kids were assembled and listening to music. I tracked down Marleigh and you know that she wouldn't come to me!!! She just looked at me as if to say, "Who are you and why do you think you can talk to me?" LOL Mom knelt down in front of her and started talking to her and after a few seconds she cracked a grin but you could tell she knew something wasn't right. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. Post some pics for us!! :) Love to all

I liked that to as well Rita. It gave me a feel good moment lol :P

Sunday, July 24, 2011

So glad you shared that Rita,Just to hear the people talk that were blessed by Mom and Dad Makes me feel closer to them and what a testimony they had.and what they stood for.Amen.
Last night at church, Pastor Butch preached on prayer.  He spoke about several things such as praise, teaching your children to pray...and then he said something like this..."I've been to Brother Ralph's and Sister Vivian's and when it came time to pray, everybody in the house came and joined hands and we ALL prayed...That's how Sister Vivian did it."   The people at church still talk about them...One night a young man was preaching and he said that when Sister Vivian got in the Spirit and started running, you knew it was God because she couldn't have run like that...It had to be the Spirit because she was old."   LOL  Another man said that the first time he met Mommy in the old church, he had come to church with an earache in both ears.  About the time church started, here came this little woman and laid both hands on his ears and prayed for him and he got better right then.  He said she had the goods!   Another man speaks quite often about how Mommy was with him when he received the Holy Ghost out at Meadow Bluff in 1955!   Just thought I'd share.

Trish: Colin has hypothyroidism. I believe a lot of people with Down Syndrome have it. Unrelated, Dan, Melody, Merrell, Melvin, Ina's daughter Sherry, and Mae are just a few who have it. Is the PT such that Danny can continue working on it at home?
Turns out I didn't have a virus after all. Just a bit of malicious malware. He said it's mostly college kids hacking in unsecured emails trying to get credit card numbers and such. A lot of you didn't receive it because your server wouldnt accept it! Anyway to be on the safe side I am changing my personal email to trishhut@gmail.com. My other email huttut@frontiernet.net still works also.

Danny completes #7 of 35 radiation tx today. The site is starting to get a little pink by evening but it is turning back to normal by morning so far. He is tired and restless. Insurance is putting a halt on physical therapy today. The dr wanted 52 sessions but insurance agreed to 20. He is still only able to lift one pound with that arm and it is extremely limited in movement and still quite painful. Thanks to the ones that send cards and emails and for your prayers. Tuesday at his regular Dr appt she encouraged his positive attitude. Said that would be the best medicine.

I went to the Cleveland clinic on Friday because I am having some problems and she increased my pred again and told me not to go down until after Danny is through with chemo. She said any stressful situation causes me to relapse so ...she also said if this doesn't help to call and they can set up another chemo here. I saw my family dr on Tuesday also and seems I am hypothyroid now. Does anyone else share this disease? She asked me about that and other illnesses in the family.

It is hot, hazy, and humid here today. Mid 90's, everyone stay cool:)

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

Yeah it's a virus. Taking it to the dr. Tomorrow sorry:(
Trish, what is the web address you posted below for? I copied and pasted it to open it and a box popped up and said it was a malicious site and blocked me from going to it. I know we had an email from you last week that you hadn't sent and it was said not to open it, I didn't know if this was something similar.

Monica ~ I am going to be working at the Gourmet Shop as a sales clerk. I'm glad to hear that MP3 is going to be able to come in. See ya then.
Congratulations Teresa!!! What are you going to be doing there?

Rita, that quote is too funny LOL!!!

Emily, I like your table and picture frames :P That was a neat idea.

Military Quote Of the Day

by GunnySgt Harry Berres, USMC

"When I  joined the military it was illegal to be homosexual, then it became optional and now it's legal.

I'm getting out before Obama makes it mandatory."

 ~Rita~

Hey everyone ~ I am excited to have everyone coming for Labor Day weekend. With sad regrets also. I am starting a new job with the Greenbrier Hotel this week and they have already told me that I would be working that weekend, but hopefully I will still get a chance to see everyone while they are in. :(

Rita ~ I'm not sure that we are going to need to do my clean up project. After you guys go thru the stuff in the old house, my new best friend Gary said that he would take and get the rest, or at least the biggest part of it. Also me and Steve have just about burned everything on the hill that can be burned. We have been burning stuff for the past 2 weekends. I may not even be there on Sunday(sad), so you and Ruth will be in charge of whatever goes on. If you guys still want to clean out the house you go right ahead it won't hurt my feelings one bit. I'm sure you guys can handle it.

White Elephant sounds good to me.  I will bring the chili and a drink.  I will bring whatever I have out of the garden, maybe fresh green beans and potatoes cooked together or corn...Whatever I have.  I will do that in place of a desert.   Emily, I love your table and pics.  Grandma would think that is so special.  Daniel and Alice, I am so glad you are going to get to come.  Teresa...You need to mention your clean up project that you have planned.  It will be fun for all, ya'll!!
I just got back from a trip to Mississippi with a couple friends from church and we had a good time.  Never been there before.  My biggest thrill was going to be going thru Fort Payne Alabama, I thought.  That's where "ALABAMA" is from!  Ya know what I saw, a "WalMart".  That was it!!  Big Whoop!! LOL
Trish and Danny, I am still prayin' for you both..Blain and I kinda know what you're going through, but just remember, God is always there.

I found this table at a junk store the other day for really cheap. The middle panel flips up and has a little vanity mirror in it.

I put it in my office and put some things on it. The frames on the wall have pieces of Grandma's fabric in them. =)

Friday, July 15, 2011

Yes, Trish! I thought about asking you to bring Mac and Cheese because everyone loves it.
Trish said DO NOT open that email that was sent from her email address, she did not send it. She now has to change her email password. She said it may be a virus.

Thursday, July 14, 2011

Check out Reesy with glasses.

MP3 will be in attendance and we will bring stuff for the s'mores :P I think I will try to find the "little hugs" drinks for the kids and bring those. When I decide what I'm fixing for desert I'll let you know. Love to all
We will do plates, silverware, and nacho/cheese trays, no-bake cookies for our dessert, diet coke and diet mountain dew. This is not on the menu but I will bring Mac n cheese, kids just love that stuff and I never have left overs:). Will anyone have fresh stuff from the garden or should I say left overs by then? Home grown corn on the cob would be really good:)
Paul and I will bring chips, drinks, and a dessert! Can't wait to see everybody!
Hi Everyone, We will bring the Onions, cups and napkins if that is OK, plus the desert and our drinks. Hope to see everyone there.
Love and Prayers
Oops! I forgot and Trish reminded me - We will be doing the White Elephant Gift exchange on Labor Day also. I know some people are already getting their gifts rounded up!

The following Question and Answer is an excerpt from Mommy’s book, Reflections from a Mother’s Heart:

Q. What new tradition would you like to start in the family?

A. Ever'body git together once a year somewh're, somehow. Whether it's the same ever'year, it don't matter. Jus' so we git together before somebody has t' die before they do it. Even at a park or whatever. Jus' git together.

So to continue honoring her wishes, we are going to “git together” at the homeplace for our reunion on Sunday, September 4. This is the middle day of the three-day weekend, so people can travel on Saturday and Monday, if necessary. We planned the menu while we were in West Virginia going through the remainder of Mommy and Daddy's things in the house, and we made it simple. We are having hot dogs with all the trimmings (we can roast our own in the firepit), baked beans, hot dog chili, cole slaw, macaroni salad, potato chips, nacho chips and cheese, s’mores, desserts and drinks.

Following is a list of items we will need, along with names of people who have already volunteered to bring some of them. Please post on the blog whether or not you are coming and what you volunteer to bring so we will know how much food to prepare and to make sure all items are covered. I will keep a list of who is coming and who is bringing what.

Weiners (David - 2 pkg.; Tim 4 pkg.; Bobbie ?)
Buns (David - 2 pkg.; Tim 4 pkg.; Bobbie ?)
Hot dog chili (Rita)
Cole Slaw (Bobbie)
Nacho Chips and Cheese (Teresa)
Mac and Cheese (Trish)

We want everyone to bring a dessert and his/her drinks of choice.

If I have forgotten anything, please let me know, and I will add it.

We will eat at 1 p.m. Also, whatever you bring you MUST take the leftovers home with you because, unlike Mommy and Daddy who had people in and out all of the time, Steve and Teresa will just have the two of them and it will go to waste.
Good morning,
The box with the poems in it was on daddy's desk right behind his bible. I read them on one of the nights I was up there. That's where he kept all his important stuff:)
Danny was supposed to start radiation this week. Monday they just did CT scans And x-rays. Tuesday he was supposed to get the real stuff. He went in and they said the machine was broke down and to call Wednesday before coming. It's still broke down....so hopefully tomorrow! Danny is feeling pretty good. His left side is getting stronger everyday. He is still getting physical therapy 3x week and they have him up to 2 hours at a time. They tell him he is doing tremendous, even though he will never be able to lift his arm above his head.
I was doing physical therapy same days he was doing it for my muscles. I developed tennis elbow and had to cut out the arm exercises then as I was decreasing my prednisone my muscles and joints are hurting so bad that I can't tolerate any of the exercises.
I had blood work done yesterday and seems like it is steadily rising (not a good thing) so I am trying to get an appt at the Cleveland clinic while Danny is on radiation before he starts chemo. I am thinking she may want me to take another course of chemo, but we'll see.
Hope everyone is having a good summer and is staying cool!
Lots of love to all,
Trish
Rita ~ I really enjoyed the poems of Daddys, thanks for sharing. I also liked all the pics of the kids.

From Daddy

As you all know, we cleaned out the basement and there was so much to go through...Daddy saved everything.  I took all the boxed cards (Sympathy, Birthday, Get Well, etc....) so I could send them to people, mostly at church.  I went down this morning to look for something and I noticed one box that had something written on the back.  It said, "Take to Ruth's". When I opened it, I found these two poems on top.   I don't know when he fixed them up...maybe for the next year we all gathered. (He had made copies)  I am writing them because think it is a message to us!  That's just what I think.

MY CHILDREN
When I think I've nothing
Not a farthing, not a pence
Nor a castle, nor a manor
Nor a cottage with a fence
I gaze upon my children
With a look some parents know
And see that I am wealthy
For they keep my heart aglow
Tis they who give me riches
Beyond their farthest dream
More treasures and more pleasures
Than any ancient queen
Their smiles I cannot market
Their laughs won't bring a dime
But having them around me
Makes everything sublime
So when I'm feeling poorly
'Bout debts, or this and such
I think of childless rich men
They really don't have much

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven Dear Ones
All's so happy, all's so bright!
There's perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light

All the pain and grief are over
Every restless tossing passed
I am now at peace forever
Safely home in Heaven at last

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade

And He came himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread
And with Jesus' arm to lean on
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely
For I love you dearly still
Try to look beyond earth's shadows
Pray to trust our Father's will

There is work still waiting for you
So you must not idle stand
Do your work while life remaineth
You shall rest in Jesus' hand

When that work is all completed
He will gently call you home
Oh! The rapture of the meeting!
Oh! The joy to see you come!

I took my plain bulletin board apart tonight and attached some fabric and ribbon. I took upholstery tacks and hot glued them to the yellow buttons an then pinned a hair flower to it. I think it turned out so cute...and it was super easy!

This is a window pane from up at Grandma's. The quilt top is a piece of one that I helped her do when I was younger. It was my project for the day.
Here are a couple pics of the basement after the girls did some major cleaning.

Teresa take some pictures of the cleaned out basement , I don't think I have ever seen it cleaned out!.Well I am great grandma again ,Melanie had her baby boy yesterday, 7lb. 20in. long, that's Davy's daughter. So he is grandpa again too.Name is Patton Thomas Feldhauser.
From one of your homies, "You're Welcome."  You ARE making progress!!  Good to have connections with your local Thrift Store Owner!!  I hope Steve got that 4-Wheeler turned around and started UP the hill.  Tell him I'm really sorry about running it into the building!  Tee Hee Hee!!

Rita

This post is going out to my "homies". Thank you all so much for all your help, I can't thank you enough for all that you have done. It is such a relief to have the basement cleaned out. Gary from Better Living said that as soon as we go through the old house he would come and take the rest. Yeah!!!! He is also coming up one evening in the next couple of days and getting the freezer and the electric range. Yeah!!!! We are making progress.
I have also been working all morning in the basement. I organized the cellar (all the jars in one place by size and the food all in the same place), moved all my totes into the small room, vacuumed all the floors and shelves and the rafters.
I had to finally take a break and get some water(I was parched) and realized that is was only 10:30. Man....I am working my butt off, no... it's still there. hehehe
