Yes, Bobbie I know , you didn't get your watermellon, I told David we were going to eat some when we came back after lunch , and then we for got it. But we can blame that on Rita and her Ice Cream, Ha! lol, But at least you didn't have to wait as long for your watermellon as she did for the Ice Cream,I really enjoyed your visit it was just too short, and going to church with me, the preacher came to see David on tuesday, and he was still talking about you all coming to church with me he was so pleased.Christine was so sorry she missed you all , she said you were going to have to come again , so she could see you guys.
Trish, I love the new look! Do we have a picture of Gramma eating water melon? She loved that at the 4th of July! It probably was the only time of year we got it! Vonda, I thought of your cold watermelon in the fridge on our drive back to Ohio. I looked forward to that all day:( Remember I told you'll that God grants the desires of the heart. The day after I got home Elliott went to the market and brought one home. I didn't ask him too, didn't even mention it. So my kids and I are eating watermelon all week!!

A special thank to all of you who took care of Steve while I was gone. Sunday, he enjoyed the day with Paul and Addy and I'm sure she cooked up quite the meal. Happy Birthday sweetie! Also, Trish and Danny took him to Alta for his Birthday dinner, he enjoys going out there. Thank you guys, he probably ate better while I was gone.(What am I saying, I know he ate better)hahha

And this is another miracle as requested by Lori.
Hearing His Voice (2004)
Julie, my wife of 35 years, and I always began our day with prayer before each of us left the house. We would ask God to watch over us and our children and bring us safely home in the evening. One day in September 2004, that simple prayer yielded amazing results.
I left my home in Smyrna, Tennessee, and drove east on Interstate 40 enroute to Wolf Creek Dam. After driving for about an hour I arrived in Cookeville and prepared to exit I-40 onto Highway 111.
I moved down the exit ramp and came to a stop at Highway 111, which was a divided highway split by a median. To turn left and go north, I would have to cross the southbound lanes and the median before making my turn. I waited for traffic to pass and moved across to the median. Looking south, I could see several vehicles approaching on the two-lane highway, two in the lane closest to me and others farther back in the far lane. As the two closest to me passed and my lane was now open I accelerated my Chevy S-10 pickup and turned left.
Just before reaching the pavement, I distinctly heard someone say, “Don’t do that!” and turned the wheel more to the left to put me on the shoulder instead of the highway. An 18-wheeled tractor trailer roared by in the lane I had been about to enter! The driver had been in the far lane seconds before when I stepped on the gas to go forward but evidently even then was in the process of moving left into the lane I would have to enter.
I immediately knew God had warned me. When he said, “Don’t do that!” I knew what He meant for me not to do and what he meant for me to do instead. As the back of the huge truck receded in the distance, I thanked God for the warning, and for answering prayers Julie and I prayed just a short time before. He or His guardian angel had been on the seat beside me and knew I was about to drive into the path of the speeding semi which would not have been able to stop or avoid me. My small S-10 pickup would have been crushed by the oncoming rig.

Michelle Afflicted with Crohn’s Disease
When our daughter Michelle was in her early teens, she began suffering chronic pain and fatigue and a doctor finally diagnosed her symptoms as those associated with Crohn's disease.
The disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation or swelling of the digestive tract, also known as the gastrointestinal tract.
Crohn's disease symptoms may range from mild to severe and can vary widely from person to person. Most people experience periods when they have flare ups, followed by episodes of remission when the symptoms decrease or even disappear. Commonly reported symptoms include persistent diarrhea, abdominal cramps and pain, fever and fatigue.
Loss of appetite may also occur and affected Michelle. In addition to the effects on the gastrointestinal tract. Crohn's disease can also affect other areas of the body such as the joints, eyes, skin, and liver.
Along with painful symptoms. Crohn's disease can lead to complications, including an obstruction of the intestine due to swelling and the formation of scar tissue.
Other potential complications of Crohn's disease include the development of fissures (small cuts or tears in the anal canal), abscesses (localized infection or collection of pus), and fistulas (an abnormal tunnel that forms between two structures of the body).
Crohn's Disease Risk Factors
Though it can occur at any age, most people are diagnosed with Crohn's disease between the ages of 15 and 35.2 Men and women are at equal risk of Crohn's disease, while people of European heritage are more likely to develop the disease.
If you have a relative with Crohn's disease, your risk of developing the condition may be greater. Roughly 20% of people with Crohn's disease have a sibling, parent or child with some form of IBD.3
Causes of Crohn's Disease
While the exact cause of Crohn's disease is unknown, researchers believe that inherited genes, environmental factors, and the immune system all play a role. Research also suggests that in Crohn's disease, the immune system reacts to a virus or bacterium in the GI tract, ultimately resulting in swelling and subsequent bowel injury.
Once closely linked to diet and anxiety, there is no clear evidence that either of these is a direct cause of Crohn's disease. However, stress and an unhealthy diet are associated with poor nutrition and may worsen symptoms.
Her chronic pain and fatigue kept her from enjoying the company of her friends and for someone who loved so much to be around other people, she was miserable in several ways.
As a member of the Bible Quiz team she competed frequently from February to August against other churches in Florida and even traveled to some events outside the state, notably Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia and Ohio. These trips were especially taxing. Despite Crohn’s Disease and its effects on her body, she led her team to the state finals in Florida and earned the right to compete at the national level in Louisville, Kentucky.
At the end of that competition, during the banquet traditionally held the last night of the competition, she was approached by the senior pastor of the church in Cincinnatti, Ohio, Brother Pasley, who told her that the Lord wanted him to pray for her but he did not know why. She then told him about her battle with Crohn’s disease and he anointed her with oil from a small container he found in his coat pocket, rare for him to have there because he is careful to remove such to keep it from ruining the coat at the cleaners, and prayed for her. From that day on, her symptoms of Crohn’s disease decreased to the point that she was no longer aware of them.
God not only made someone aware that she had a problem but directed them to her so they could follow the command given in the Bible to anoint with oil and pray.

M He had his radiation consult last week and that will be in lewisburg with dr shelton. The doctors at UVA spoke very highly of him and everyone around here loves him. He got tattooed and marked up. They said they would do the planning next week and hopefully start right after the 4th. He will require 6-8 weeks. Said he would get like a sunburn at the site.
We went back to UVA and they told him he will have to have chemo as well. He will have to go to UVA for it but not until after radiation is complete. He will go every 21 days and stay as an inpatient for 4 days. He will have 6 cycles of this.

Here is the first of several Miracles Lorie that you suggested we share. This one involved Mommy.
Warts Cover Both Hands
When about nine years of age, I developed warts on both hands. The warts appeared on my fingers, thumbs and on the back of my hands. The larger the warts grew, the rougher the texture became.
I lived on a farm which meant I was always doing jobs outside that required me to use my hands with gloves, in all kinds of weather. Many times the surfaces I had to grasp were rough. Some of those chores were cutting and carrying firewood to heat the house, milking cows, harnessing a horse, stacking lumber, picking up and piling rocks so that more soil would be free to grow grass for both cattle and horses, assembling and using farm machinery, shoveling snow, picking up and stacking bales of hay. Each of those tasks required the extensive use of my hands, sometimes while wearing gloves, sometimes not.
Pulling gloves onto and off of my hands and fingers made rougher by protruding warts often proved to be a painful experience. Many times the warts would bleed around the base when accidentally bumped in the course of my work.
I tried using chemical treatments which were advertised as effective for removing such growths but nothing I tried worked.
One day, in frustration after a particularly painful experience, I showed my hands to Mom. She took them in both of hers, bowed her head and said a simple prayer.
“God, you see these warts, you caused them to appear on David’s hands and you can cause them to go away. We trust you to care for us when our problems are big, and we know you also care for us even if our requests are small or insignificant. I ask you now to touch his hands and take away these warts which are painful when he bumps them as he goes about his work. We thank you now Lord for hearing our prayer and we will give you the praise for whatever you cause to happen to them.”
She then told me to just trust in God and see what would happen.
For the next two days I went about my work at school and at home in the usual manner. Unconsciously I had ‘forgotten’ about the warts and was astonished when I realized I was looking at my hand and the warts were gone! Everywhere there had been a bothersome wart, there was now only smooth skin, with not even a scar to remind me of its passing. I rushed in to Mom and stuck out my hands, “Look Mom, all the warts are gone!” I cried. She again took both my hands in hers, looked at the palms then turned them over and looked at the backs of my hands and began praising God for what he had done.
I have never been bothered by warts since that day! He took what was there, removed them, and then took away the cause of the abnormality so none returned and it has now been nearly 50 years since that day Mom took my scarred hands in hers and said a simple prayer.

Duh!
Teresa, I am at my house and Ruth is at her house, I guess! Nooo, Teresa, it ain't about jealousy...It's Pride. I've heard about people like you. LOL I guess we should've married our brother. 
Teresa, I didn't get around to read the blog til this morning so I didn't know about your water. But come over anytime. We are headed to UVA this morning and won't be home but the key is in the usual place! Just ignore the disaster we call home! Not home much and when we are the weather has been so nice we stay outside! Danny sits in the garage or out in the yard and bosses the boys around ! His dream job if only his arm didn't hurt so much.
Just thought of this, but with your water situation, before the leak, how does filling up that tub affect it? I was in the store where you bought your big shelf yesterday and told her I was your sister in law and she asked me if you got it up? she said it sure was heavy and I told her you borrow a stud finder! LOL
Danny is doing well in Physical Therapy, but it is going to be a slow and painful recovery. They told him yesterday that he is probably at 20%. He sees the oncologist, surgical oncologist and plastic surgeon today and hoping to get rid of his two drains.
I am guessing everyone is busy with summer, gardens, vacations, and just life in general, but am wondering who all is going to be able to come for the 4th of July? Amy asked if we were planning any get together. I told her hopefully whoever did come in we could just meet up at the Cadle Farm. so if you all have a chance just weigh in and let me know. We hope to go over probably in the cool of the day, maybe saturday evening when the fireworks are on but want to be there if everyone else is planning to come.

Good morning all!!! Guess what......we have no water again. I went to do a load of laundry and the water wouldn't run in so... when Steve got home he went to the spring to check it for leaks. There was no water and it was leaking to the left side of the spring house where the pipe runs up the hill to our house. Hope we can get it fixed fast and not run into a lot of complications along the way. Trish- we may be coming over to your house for showers, if that ok. Just not sure how long it will take us. But GOD is good, it waited till after the renovation, if we had put grout down and not had water to get it back up I'm not sure what it would have looked like.
Life is still good!!! and GOD is good all the time. Getting ready to go see my babies, talk at ya later.

Charles Timothy 'Tim' Shawver
GRASSY MEADOWS — Charles Timothy "Tim" Shawver, 48, died early Sunday morning, June 12, 2011, at home, following a short illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1962, at Ronceverte, W.Va., he was a son of Charles Elbert and Betty Jean Rigdon Shawver. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Briahna. Tim was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, and was a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include his wife, "Lita" Jessee Shawver of Grassy Meadows; three daughters, Ashley Temple and companion, Nick Hamrick, of Grassy Meadows, Heather Adams and husband, Martin, of Georgetown, Del., and Amber Pennell and companion, Charlie Gluck, of Seaford, Del.; a sister, Sarah Warwick and companion, Joe Smith, of Fairlea; three brothers, Ronald Shawver and wife, Sherry, of Grassy Meadows, Keith Shawver and wife, Cindy, of Grassy Meadows, Paul Shawver and wife, Dee Dee, of Grassy Meadows, and four grandchildren, Branden, Brooklyn, Crystal, and Charlie. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Pastor Roger Thornton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Shawver Cemetery on Bennett Mountain, near Grassy Meadows. Friends may call one hour prior (10 to 11 a.m.) to the service at the funeral home. Wife's diary:
Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep-I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep-I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

Monica, Timmy here, you can google (Wolf River Apple) and read all you want to know about the Apple in question. You can also order trees, if you like, and have your own. Dad was always impressed at how large the apples could get, even though they were pratically the same, year after year. I've been going through my pictures trying to clean them up and I came across these. Several years back mom brought these back from grandma and grandpa's. I couldn't believe how big the red ones were, I hadn't seen any that big before. Mom told me what kind they were but it escapes my mind right now. This is so funny but as soon as I started typing this I started smelling apples, no joke!!! Maybe grandma and grandpa are trying to tell me something :P Steve, do you have any of the apple trees left that these would have come from? I can't wait to see pics of your finished bathroom. I know it will look amazing!! Teresa, I can just see you now locking Steve out of the bathroom along with the pets so you could relax in your new tub the other night lol. Did I hear right that you guys found that at a yard sale for $75? What a steal!!! Usually when it rains and I'm upstairs I can hear it on the roof. Well, tonight I didn't hear anything and I needed to water my flowers in my flower bed since it had been so hot the last 2 days. I went downstairs, filled up my water pot, opened the living room door......and it's raining :) Not wanting to waste my water I went ahead and stepped out into the flower bed and began watering my flowers in the rain. Danny - I'm glad that the healing process is coming along nicely.
Trish - The tub is up and running even though the bathroom is still in renovation mode. The tub was a priority! I soaked for like and hour the first night we had it up and runnin'. It was great!!!
Danny and I went to princeton yesterday to see emilys apartment and guess who we saw? Monica and mark planned on coming ton see us yesterday so we met them halfway and of course we had to eat:). Lunch was great at the cracker barrel and marleigh entertained us. As you can see in the photos, she read us a story. We also enjoyed her singing to us, but we didn't get a dance :(. Then for supper, emily was working at bob Evans so we ate there.

Hellooooooo Larissa!!! I love the picture with the castle. I may have to print it out and put it away for Marleigh. A picture of a real castle......how lovely :) And yes Larissa, we would love to hear about your journeys and what you are doing. Sometimes it's like reading a book of a land far away on the blog here. I like when Michelle writes about her fulfilled days in Germany and the history lessons on the castles, so interesting (hint, hint). I'm sure she will have plenty to write about now that Joe is home :) Addy, there is actually going to be a car show next weekend at the fairgrounds near mom and dads. The blog sure has been busy the past few days! First, Congratulations again Tanner! The pictures look awesome and I know it must be bittersweet to have graduated, but there's so much more to come!
Joe andMichelle, It's so nice to see that God brought him home safely! And it's hard to believe how much your girls have grown since I saw them last! I can't believe it in the pictures, it's like miniature Michelles!

I officially have 1 1/2 days with students, and then 2 more full work days for teachers! I'm so excited to start my new job next year. It's only 4 minutes from the house, not that I've timed it or anything. Is anybody planning any trips this summer? I think we might try to visit Paul's aunt and uncle in SC one weekend. Monica and Mark, Paul said he wants to come to a car show this summer down there, so if you hear of anything let us know!

I think of you everytime I see a Yard Sale. LOL And around here, that's everyday. How is your family and where exactly, are you? Physically and in your studies? You are awefully tiny to be taveling around this big ol' world all by yourself!! The luggage she carries is bigger than she is. Honestly!!
You get on here and give us all a little update. Waiting to hear from you even if you only have time to say Hello. We're praying for you too.

Wow Micheal! Talking about birthday wishes coming true. You done good Wendy!
Danny I am proud of you, walking a mile everyday! Already! Trish, how does that feel, getting back into the walking? Have you found some comfortable shoes? When will the radiation start? Sometime after the 16th?
Did you cry at graduation? I did, I was so very proud of them. When I think of all they could have gotten into in High School, but didn't and they stayed in church and loving the Lord and today I couldn't be more proud of them! So, Trish and Danny you have done something else good in your life! Your kids are living proof! Did you say I didn't know them like you did! Hah! Hah! There is room for improvement in all of us!
How is your bathroom coming along? I want pics as soon as you're done with all your pretty towels displayed.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Yes I had a great one, Julie and I celebrated albeit a quiet one. Now the week before when it was Michael's birthday was a different matter. He was born on Memorial Day, during the running of the Indy 500 so he has always loved race cars and watching races, both NASCAR and Indy type races. Well Wendy found a Richard Petty Driving experience for a bargain and hooked him up. Needless to say, he had a ball and we had great fun watching him run at Daytona Raceway. The pictures here show it all. He sure was excited to get to drive it. I do believe he hit 156 on his last lap. They told him to hang 3 car lengths behind the pace car and they would take him as fast as they were allowed to go. Boy he did it too.
Congratulations Tanner! My how time flies! The next few years will go by even quicker than your high school days! Have fun at the lake next week. Just remember, the longer you stay in college, the longer you will be an adult without any real responsibility, so milk it for all it's worth!

2 down and 1 to go! I wonder if mommy Ever thought of it that way? He said the other day it was going to be hard looking out at the crowd knowing two of the people he loved the most wouldn't be there:(. If anyone can come tonight graduation is at 6 and it will be at the fairgrounds in the grandstand. Just look for the blue and gold:). One of his friends parents has a place at smith mountain lake and a bunch are going there on Sunday for the week. He is looking for a summer job so if anyone hears anything let me know.
