We had a wonderful weekend in WV. We spent the day Friday at Rita's and had pintos, cornbread, corn on the cob, crab dip and crackers for lunch. Grandma's PT Marty came around 1 o'clock and ended up having lunch with us (only because a couple ladies twisted his arm lol). He is a really nice fellow. Janet and the kids were there as well and we got to visit with them. On our way up Backus Mt. going to Rita's we had to stop in the road for a goat. Mark started backing up and we couldn't see it. I knew we hadn't hit it so I got out to find him. Thank goodness I left the door open on my side because as I started around the front of the truck here it came bleating at me. It was in a pretty good stride so I hopped back up in the truck and told Mark to go, go, go. I looked out my window and the goat was running along side the truck. So Janet, yes there are rednecks in Meadow Bridge if a goat chases your truck instead of a dog!! LOL :p

at the cross
We visited with Homer and Vena this evening, sang some hymns for them. David, Susan, Sybil and the kids, Ray and Loretta and I had blizzards thanks to Susan. Emma loves this song At the Cross, I managed to catch a little of it.
Homer isn't doing well at all. His cancer is much worse and say he could go anytime depending where the cancer hits next. Please keep them in your prayers. Vena has alzheimers and won't be able to stay by herself.

football AND babies! Love em!
Tanner had his first scrimmage today in Wyoming county! Tanner plays center and is always the one snapping the ball or standing right in front of it.
If you thought Meadow Bridge was redneck territory you should go there! We pulled into THE gas station, there was only one, and at least 15 4-wheelers pulled in around me. Thought I was surrounded! But it was a good day. GW did well!

Then when we got home we had a nice visit with Mark, Monica and Marleigh, sorry Mark I didn't seem to get your picture.
Sorry Clara, but you are going to have to share the dog bed. Marleigh liked it too!

We have Matthew's family Reunion on Sunday. It is their turn for Labor Day weekend as we went to Ruth's last year. We must share the grandkids:) However, if they finish up early there, we will certainly try to come and visit. Don't plan on us for dinner though. Monica, are you guys coming to mom's on Friday before lunch. Give me a call when you get there and we may run up. I need to go to mom's fresh produce market anyway:) haha Just don't tell dad! Drive carefully!
We Cycle America
This site below is a group mainly from WV that is going to cycle across America starting tomorrow. Janice Centa is the Physician Assistant that works in the pediatricians office where I take the kids. Pretty neat if she ran into the guy that is WALKING across America huh?

Steve and Teresa are now moved in, and they have invited us all there on Sunday of Labor Day weekend for a cookout. As of now, Mommy seems to be doing well enough to make that trip, and all of you pray that continues to be the case. Let's try to coordinate with everyone so that we all do not bring the same dishes. I believe we are to have hamburgers and hotdogs, but check with Steve on that. I will bring all the disposable products--napkins, plates, bowls, cake plates, knives, forks, spoons and cups. I will also bring a gallon of baked beans and a gallon of tropical fruit. Trish, your mac and cheese is always a tremendous hit with kids and adults alike, as is your hotdog chili, Rita. Whatever you bring, take the leftovers home with you as Steve and Teresa would not be able to use all of them. If possible, post on the blog what you intend to bring so everyone will know and not duplicate it. Also, post on the blog whether or not you plan to come so we would know how many to plan for. Lonnie does not have internet, so someone please let him know the plan. If you know of others who do not check the blog, please let them know also.

Amy- Those pictures are precious. I love the ones in the washtub! She looked like she enjoyed her cake:)
Alice- How are you feeling these days? Hopefully better than before with more stregth each day.
Trish- Thanks for the meds, I can almost see now! Kaiden thinks you have a playground at your house now. He wasn't even THAT disappointed that you had the tractors put up.
Mom- I don't think the video worked. Maybe it's just me. Try to repost it, or send it e-mail. I forgot to watch it before we left. The caption should say, "fitchin"!
Monica- Marleigh is growing so fast. She is too cute. Wonder where she gets that?
Mimi- Happy Birthday!
Grandma- Please eat your corn and no faces at mom!
Mom, feel free to stop reading here!
Mom was "getting on" to grandma for not eating and I was behind mom where grandma could see me. I started making faces at mom and grandma laughed and laughed. That was some pretty funny stuff because I didn't even think she was watching me. Sorry mom! Anything for a smile!
Have a great day!

Report from the Mt
I hope this video comes through. I love the look on Olivia's face at the end. The one of Mommy is the day she went to the Dr. Dr. Anderson told her she looked beautiful. I'll have to agree. Her Dr. visit was good. Blood work is good, her B-12 was a little low so we are giving her injections twice a month instead of once a month. Her protein was low but she doesn't eat much meat. Gonna have to beef up the dried beans! She is sleeping all night but none during the day. She gets really tired and sleepy but won't go to sleep. She gets sundowners between 11:00 and 5:00 during the day! It wouldn't matter except that she doesn't eat when she is tired. She ate 2 ears of corn for supper, pureed. Otherwise, things are unremarkable!

Hi everyone,
Well, the four of us are really having a great time at home together. I am going to be really sad when I have to go back to work. On Friday, we went to our first community parade. Clara enjoyed it (except for the loud fire trucks) and got tons of candy. Unfortunately, an overzealous boy scout who wanted to make sure she got a tootsie roll accidentally hit her in the side of the head with it!! It took her about 30 seconds to decide to cry but then the whole crowd felt so bad for her!
We have been spending a lot of time at the playground and in the pool. Clara absolutely loves the pool!!
Here is a link to Clara's first year pictures (you may have to paste this in a new window) if you haven't seen them yet from mom. We also had newborn pictures taken and I'll let you know when those are available to view.

Hi Everyone from Ky, Thanks Rita for the post about mom, sounds like she is eating really good. The corn is finished here in Ky. We still have tomatoes but the cucumbers are finished because of the heat.
Alice is doing really good, still a little sore but able to do most of the things she wants.
Glad to hear that Jacob is doing OK.
Steve, send pic's when you get the chance. When I remodeled our house it went from wake up to bed time with just time for lunch sometimes. I sure hope your job is going well.
Take care everyone.
Love and Prayers

I hadn't had a chance to check the blog for several days so it was good to catch up with everyone. Glad to hear that Alice is doing well and loved the pictures form David, Vonda and Amy. Hard to believe that Trish's "babies" are getting so old. Let us knwo when you boys play at home. We don;t really have any reason to go watch MB football anymore- but that doesn't mean that we will be cheering for those Cavs either- LOL! Glad that grandma is feeling better. I think that is funny about the corn on the cob. I can't wait until her and Kiaden are fighting over the corn:) This is my last week at home with the kids and I have so enjoyed it. Of course, since it is time to go back they have both been so well behaved and in a good routine. Olivia is getting excited about going ot school and Kaiden is wondering why he can't go too. He will probably be lost with Livvy for a while, but I think he and grandma will get along just fine:) Hope you all have a blessed day! Love you
Mornin' All
Mommy had a good week and weekend. Ruth came on Wednesday and stayed until Sat. Mommy seems to be over her UTI and is a different person. She has her best hours up until about 3. After that she gets tired and can't eat as well. But yesterday, she had a good breakfast, then about 1:00, she had lunch. Blain got fresh corn out of the garden and I cut her two ears off the cob. She didn't want to chew it up, so I pureed it and it was more like creamed corn. She ate that with a stuffed pepper, (pureed). Then we took our plates to the living room to eat with her and I was eating my corn on the cob. I offered her a bite off the cob and she took it and ate the whole thing by herself! Cleaned it up! Sooo, she will be eating it off the cob from now on. She has a Dr. appt this morning and we are going to make sure she is completely rid of the UTI. The Restoril has helped alot, she is sleeping much better, so she is more alert in the day. However, she will not take a nap in the afternoon or evening at all. She likes to watch TV!! She loves to watch people fall down, it seems. There is a pizza commercial where a guy loses his pants and that cracks her up everytime she sees it. She loves to watch I LOVE LUCY too. She laughs at everything she does. We sat outside about 3 times yesterday and Blain took her for a ride in her wheelchair. It isn't too hot or too cold now and she can enjoy being outside. She is staying up later now. Doesn't go to bed until around 9, The other night it was 9:30. She was watching TV. TTYL

Liked your picture of the butterfly. Here are a few of us when we visited a butterfly museum here in Gainesville. All kinds were everywhere and they would land on you often. Made for some good pictures with the kids (even big kids!). Alice glad you are doing well.
Mom we love you and hope you are feeling well today! Hope you like these pictures.

Good Morning from VA!
I've taken a trip down memory lane this morning catching up! Love the pictures everyone and videos Amy. More! More! Please. You are quite the singer Amy! Is Clara making her debut! I hoped to get to Rita's in time to meet Brooks but that didn't happen so keep the pictures coming, he looks so big!
So glad that all went well with you Alice. Will you guys get back to WV in the fall?
Steve, are any of the apple trees loaded this year?
Trish, I guess Jacob will be fit as a fiddle when school starts?
Do you know if Lonnie got on his bike for his birthday? He was hoping to do that.
Marleigh and I are eating our peas, (with pears mixed in of course) "those things make me gag Gramma" she says:) Have a blessed day everyone!

Reflecting of home
Trish, Rita, Teresa and all of you folks that are helping with Mom, Our many thanks for doing what you do, and for your spouse's that are supportive of your work. Many thanks to you as well. It is our busiest time of year here with our work. But this to shall pass. It is great to see and read about the grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Even though we are not there, seems like we are in part. Hopefully we will get to see you guys before to long and I am looking forward to sitting out on the front porch, after dark at home, and just listen to the whippoorwills like we use to do with Dad, when we were kids.
