Trish,
I am glad they were able to help you at the clinic. Maybe when you go for follow up I can meet you at Amy's with the girls.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

I want to go with sometime! I'm sure the view was cool, but I bet the clinic was amaaaaazing!!
Amy brought me to the Cleveland clinic this morning.. It is amazing! She told me morein an hour than I have known in3 years. I will definately be doing my follow up here. Guess I will get to visit Clara every 3 months! There is always a silver lining. I can see grandma Vivian wanting to tag along on occasion. By the way, the view from amys office is awesome. The Cleveland brown stadium right out the window along with lake Erie. Beautiful, but I would miss the occasional cow:)

Hey Everybody,

I have a prayer request. Last week one of my co-worker's sons was severely burned while burning a brush pile. They flew him to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Cincinnati and he is still in critical condition. He has severe burns on 47% of his body. He is having surgeries almost everyday. Today they removed his face, yes that's what I meant, in order to do skin grafts. My co-worker is Crystal Holshouser and she is staying with him while her husband drives back and forth so he can still work. They have 3 children of their own and 4 foster children, and I can't even imagine what they are going through.
They have a website if you would like to visit it.
www.caringbridge.org/visit/addisonholshouser
However, if you look at the pictures I should warn you that there are no words to prepare you for it. Just please keep them all in your prayers.

I went over to mom's today to take a few pictures. The morning glories are taking over the garden and it is beautiful. I liked the spider web, I've never seen one where they make a hole like that, kinda neat. Guess what flavor of suckers they had for story time today? haha

Monica~Too funny! Grandma and Grandpa are really livin' it up these days! Hope all is well with you Prego~!a

Here's what the Flat Grands' have been up to in Dublin. Most importantly is the daily nap and Coaley was willing to watch over them or cuddle with them lol. They went to our church homecoming last Sunday and we took them to a Decemberadio concert the Saturday before as well. It was a little chilly but they enjoyed. I ended up getting the sniffles and hacking this week but they pulled through without any problems haha. Next time I'll learn to take a coat :(

Saturday Schewel's was having a big sale and all furniture was half off. So we went and got a new mattress and bed...Zac is so excited about it, lol. He wanted me to post a picture and show ya'll.
It's huge...Daddy is going to have to make me a step stool. I have to climb on the siderail to get into it! But my back feels better already from the mattress...so the climb is worth it!

Flat Grandma & Grandpa had a big day today! They went to the Sims Family Aquarium- Believe it or NOT~
and they went camping, and junped on the trampoline and played on the swingset. Grandpa rode the tractor, but Grandma didn't want to. She was probably afraid of Kaiden's driving!

Friday, September 18, 2009

Trish, glad you are feeling better. Olivia has already told me that she is coming to see TT and Emma and Kaiden is staying home with me. I guess she didn;t forget about that night on the phone. Dad's b-day was actually last Saturday, and mine is tomorrow! Thanks! Love ya
Going home today! She changed my stomach meds and added some nausea medicine. Still keeping my appt for Cleveland on thursday. Thanks for all yOur prayers.

Please remember Joyce McClung family in your prayers she was the wife of Lewis McClung
vice principal at greenbrier west. Steve did u go to school with him? He is also one of the coaches on the football team. Her daughter graduated with Emily. She had liver cancer.
Trish , sure hope you are feeling better today , do you have any idea when you will get out.
Unfortunately addy I am on a clear liquid diet! Janet don't you and blain have a birthday sat!!! Early happy birthday just in case my brain isn't working that day. Feeling better but can't sleep. Got a room mate at 730 and they just did finish with admitting her and turned out the light.

Man I miss my pillow:(. And my bed:/. And my puppy, he snuggles under the coves with me! Night all

Thursday, September 17, 2009

it's the 26th...so next weekend. i am still trying to find him a birthday present! ah!
Trish, hope you are feeling better and getting lots of fluids! Will check on you tomorrow! Emily, when is Zack's birthday? This weekend?
Hope you get to feeling better, Trish! P.S. Hospitals have the BEST chocolate pudding ever!
How nice to be in a hospital bed and able to blog at the same time! Well I lie, it isn't nice to be in a hospital bed. I just got a humungous dose of iv steroids so I may blog til my battery goes dead! Linda shoemaker is in here too across the hall. She has asthma. Linda Legg is what you may know her by. Also Marylou Patterson don't know what's wrong with her either. She was married to Joe Patterson and was secretary at smoot for many years.
Hey ya'll, just wanted to ask you to say a prayer for Mommy. She was admitted to the hospital today for dehydration. She has had a bug or virus all week and is feeling pretty bad now, but they say she should be out tomorrow. Thanks!
Not only are Flat Granny and Gramps going to become sports fanatics, I think they might possibly become globe trotters (and not the ball team!). I hear they may be going to learn to swim. I also hear they might be gardening and farming too. I certainly hope we do not tire them out!!!

I'd love to be going to that flea market! I guess I will have to settle for the 3-4 end of season yard sales tomorrow.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Zac wanted me to update you guys on his cornbread endeavors. He made it a little while ago (with self rising cornmeal) and it was actually really good. close to grandma's, but not quite. he's on the right track. his mom is getting him an iron skillet for his birthday so maybe after next weekend we will get some really good cornbread made!
Trish, the flea market is this Saturday and Sunday, the 19th and 20th, at the fairgrounds right before you get to mom and dad's house. As far as I know people are there at daybreak and dad has gone very early several times in the past. You may want to call him and check for sure, I think mom has been a little behind in keeping up with the blog :) We will be working but I hope yal get to come and find a great deal!
Yes, our colors are Blue and Gold, just like WV. Janet not sure about the blue and white unless you are referring to MEadow Bridge? By the way, I think flat grandma and grandpa are going to a WVU game! Who knew they would be such sports fanatics. Who knows, we may even see them dressed in Red and Gray, Brown and Orange, All kinds of possibilities out there.

Bobby or Monica, I hear there is another big flea market in Dublin this weekend? Could you get the scoop for me? Danny is wanting to come maybe, but we have to be back to white sulphur that evening as Jacob has a football game. He wants to come at 7 if they open that early. Let me know if you have time.
thanks,
It LOOKS like Jacob's and Chandler's uniforms are blue and gold.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Hey Emily, you know how people think Olivia looks like you? Well..........
How Cute! Looks like Clara might be thinking (in the third pic down) "Mom, are you sure this is how it's done? I'll never get full like this!" I guess I'm going to have to take Flat Grandma and Grandpa to the garden. That's the only place I'm going these days.
Amy I think you should've offered Dan a bite! In the third picture down, he has his mouth WIDE open!

Pictures of Clara's first feedings
What can i say? She is beautiful like her mother! Flat grandma & grandpa are going to be TIRED! That was a nice outfit for grandma, Monica and that hat on papa was...interesting! I am going to have to get busy. Trish~the colors are all wrong for your flat grandma & grandpa- they are supposed to be blue & white, unless, of course, they are sporting the Mountaineer colors, which we will pretend they are!

Monday, September 14, 2009

Yeah, that is Chandler. He and Jacob are on the same team. And I might add I think flat grandma and grandpa are good luck for them. They won 50-0 Jacobs team and Tanners team are both blue and gold. Jacobs is Western Greenbrier and Tanners is Greenbrier West so one outfit will do both teams.
Wow! You guys are on the ball! And you are so creative with Flat Grandma and Grandpa! I had better get myself moving. Remember they are all a surprise except Trish's which Grandma and Grandpa know about. Imagine the fun they will have with the finished products!
Is that Janet trying to catch flies?! lol Looks like the flat grandparents are in true Mountaineer attire ready for football season. I like it!! Is that Chandler beside Jacob?

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Flat Grandma and Grandpa went to Jacob's football game with us this evening!

On a side note...anybody have any input on who Olivia reminds them of in this picture? =)

Are those wingtip shoes on Flat Grandpa? Stylin!
Oh Skonica~I see you've got the jump on the rest of us! That is so funny! Don't let them stay out too late.

This is one of my mother-in-laws cats. Mark caught it in the purr-fect pose :)

Well, we got Flat Grandma and Grandpa ready for a night out on the big town of Dublin. They are going to be escorted to a Decemberadio concert, I'm so excited for them !!

Friday, September 11, 2009

Theresa~Love ya, but that was the highlight of the weekend! Loving those pictures! Adam~So sorry about Taco Bell.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Monica, I saw the taco bell the other day too! I was afraid it was closing for good and then I saw that it was being remodeled. whew!

addy, that picture is AWESOME! =D
Well I wish I had traveled with some of you guys! Me and Jacob came by ourselves and after about an hour and ahalf I got so sleepy and it started to rain. We pulled off the road before we even got to WV and rented a room. I had to go to sleep for about 2 hours. Then we didn't get home til about 9pm.
Jacob ended up with an ear infection and sinus infection. I took him to the dr. on tuesday. he has missed 2 days of school with it. I also took Daddy to the dr yesterday. His kidney functions are still kind of bad so she decreased his fluid pills to just 3 times a week. He hadn't lost weight but neither had he gained. Still anemic, but has been for quite a while. Mommy stayed home and rested up. They have been canning tomatoes since they got home.
Monica I love the pictures you took especially the one of Mommys hand holding the rail of the golf cart. And the one of them "snitching the seeds" They look like theives!!
All I can Say is the picture of Teresa is PRICELESS, She will never live that down.

Let's just say I may have been prepared for this...
Monica, I think those yellow flowers might be Sneezeweed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Helenium_autumnale1.jpg
I believe the count around the pool was 49!! Teresa passed us somewhere between Mineral Wells and Charleston so we ended up meeting with them at the Tamarak Plaza. When they left, we went on over to the Tamarak. I had never been in there before. It was neat. I'd like to go again and take a little more time. Adam had been craving Taco Bell for 2 days so we thought we would stop in Princeton for lunch (at 4pm). We came off the exit and Adam spotted the Taco Bell sign right off. As we approached, the sign underneath it read "Closed for remodeling". As we got closer and passed the building in front of it, it was closed alright. Taco Bell had been demolished and there was a little bulldozer sitting in the middle of where it used to be haha. We stopped at Long John's instead. I think we are going to go to Bridge Day on October 17th. Maybe we'll see some of you there?
Well I can't say that I'm praising the Lord about the kraut...but I just wanted to let you know that the picture of Teresa will be on the blog this evening. For those of you who haven't seen it, you're in for a treat. And if you have seen it I'm sure you'll want to see it again!
Monica~those are so good. Amy and Greg~thanks for hosting the party! You have a beautiful home and the kids loved it. I can just see about 6 kids filling the back yard! Does anyone remember how many we counted around the pool? We came as far as Mineral Wells with Steve and Teresa, (see, she's not mad at me) had lunch with them, and then we had to go our separate ways cause Teresa had to go shopping :) Mommy and Daddy were glad to be home. Mommy told Daddy that it seemed like they had been gone so long.
Remember when I made Kraut about 3 weeks ago? Well, it made, Hallelujar!! I canned tomatoes and Kraut yesterday after the kids left. Kaiden was so glad to see Papaw. He kept saying, "Papaw" like he hadn't seen him for months. Wouldn't leave his side. A raccoon got in my corn last night and ate 9 ears. I'm going to catch him tonight and shoot him in the morning!!

Grandma seemed to especially like these flowers while on our little "tour". They seem to outline the pathway where the cart went. No one seemed to know what they were though. Any thoughts?

Sunday, while we were at Amy's, I caught Grandpa helping himself to some daisy seeds. I asked them if they wanted me to get them a plastic baggy to put them in and Grandma said, "No, I'll just put them in my jacket pocket." I told her not to forget about them or they would have a washer full of flowers. Saturday, Dan took some of us on a tour of the property and I believe Grandma and Grandpa really enjoyed it. You know Grandpa was all about the flowers, plants and trees. It was very informative actually. Dan told us alot of things about this and that and I must say I had a wonderful time.

Letha, Gary, Mike and Janis: I am so glad that I got to spend time at Mommy and Daddy's with Uncle Lee and Aunt Carol after the 4th. I will always treasure those memories, especially the ones where we all sat down to big meals with the thanks to God and all the wonderful food! Your dad seemed to especially enjoy that also.
Letha, Gary, Janis and Mike,Your Dad will be missed by all the family, May God be with you all.The first time I ever got to leave home and spend time with anyone it was with your Mom and Dad in Waynesville Ohio , for about a week , you guys were all little But I really enjoyed it. Love to you all.

Does anyone have pictures to post of the weekend?
I would really like to see the family picture by the pool!

Monday, September 7, 2009

Uncle Lee really loved his grandkids too. He talked about them all the time too. I know Daddy will treasure those few days he had with him in July. I am sure they recalled younger days and older times while he was there. We will miss him.
Love to all the family!

Please let us know the arrangements and where we can send flowers!
Janis, Leitha, Mike and Gary and your families~ So sorry to hear about Uncle Lee. I am so glad we got to spend time with him when he was here. He seemed to really enjoy himself. I know he loved his family. He spoke of you all.
Amy, and Greg, we had a wonderful time , and Thanks again, the kids didnt stop talking the whole way home , they all had a great time, and it was so good to see every one, even if it was such a short time .

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Jeez Janet, have you even dried off from the pool yet before you got on the blog?lol!!! We had a great time as well, glad we got to see everybody. Wish I had a mink coat :)
Anybody got a good picture of Theresa? Amy~had a great time today and thanks again for having us. Love to all!

Thursday, September 3, 2009

Hey,
Let them believe the worst! Maybe they will be afraid of you then!!! The other teachers are probably just jealous!
It's still not near as funny as the things these kids believe. they think I was in prison, got the big tattoo to cover up my "gang tat" when I got out of jail, then had to go to anger management classes for breaking a meter stick over a kids head last year! I had to go to Woodrow Wilson High School last year for a week to do student teaching and they think I was in anger management. And I didn't tell them any of these things, the other teachers did!
Addy, you are funnier than even Madea!!!
I sent an invitation.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Rita or Trish could you invite mike's wife Julie to the blog email address is jctt@united.net. Thanks
hahahaha. i am sitting in the library (the periodical room where people actually work) and everything about that post just made me laugh out loud, addy. did ya'll know there's a new madea coming out?

who all is going to be at amy's friday night?
Y'all need to pray that I have the patience to deal with these 120 children that aren't mine! I feel like Madea when I say "boy get ovah there 'en ack like you got some sense b'fo I put my foot up yo butt! You keep ackin like dat 'en you gon meet de PoPo sooner den you think!" No matter what, I still feel very strongly that teaching middle school is the best birth control in the world.

Signed,
A Mad White Woman

Yes, the girls are coming , so Olivia and Vesta can Play at Ruth's while the rest go play laser tag , I am sure they will like that.
Well hopefully Clara will get to go to her first Laser Tag!

Monday, August 31, 2009

Amy- I think I am officially in the old folks group now! Two kids have made me that way...you just wait. I wonder how grandma stayed so young for so long with so many rugrats! We probably won't be there in time for the lazer tag, but we'll see. If not, we'll see you on Sunday! I am so glad that we get to come to. Olivia wants to know if Baby Clara can actually play this time or is she just going to sit there??? LOL

Are VondaVest, Mimi & Shala coming? Olivia can't wait to see "her girls." Kaiden just wants to know if there will be a tractor there? Sorry, he doesn't care about everyone else.

Janet, I am so glad you get to come and Addy it is great that Paul can come too. I've talked to most of you already but I wanted to remind you that we have laser tag planned on Saturday from 5:30-8:30 about 10 minutes from my house. Those of you at my mom's will need to leave around 4:30 to make it on time. We are going to order pizza and have it delivered to the laser tag place's party room so no need to eat before hand. Mark and Monica, would you be able to drive separate to the laser tag place in order to fit everybody? Vonda says that you can borrow her SUV for the second car. Janet and Matt, we'd love to have you come as well if my mom and Rita can watch your kids. Kaiden and Olivia are a bit too young but I know that you would have fun!! It is good times for the young and old. I'll have directions at my mom's from her house to my house and from her house to the laser tag place. Anyone who wants to stay at my house on Saturday night can - especially the younger folks who want to stay up later on Saturday night
Hi all just testing to see if post works from my cellphone. LORIE
So sorry to say no! lol This is a kid-less vacation!
Hey Addy,
Are you bringing your kids?

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Paul, Dad, and I will be leaving around 10 or so Saturday morning I think. We weren't sure if Paul was going to get to come but it worked out! We were planning on hanging out at Ruth's to visit for a little while then go to Amy's that evening. And yeah I remember Chris Fleming.

See you all Soon!
Trish, We are going Saturday sometime and staying at the Holiday Inn in Newton Falls.

MOM, DO NOT LET ME FORGET MY GPS tomorrow evening!
I still have to do a webinar sometime over the weekend, but it beats having to be there in person. See you there!
So Janet it looks like you got out of your training?

Saturday, August 29, 2009

We will see you this weekend...looking forward to seeing everyone!
Monica~What a magical moment!!!!
Monica~I didn't intentionally send them so many times, only once. There must be something wrong with my computer. I apologize for the mishap. That is so sweet about the baby, I'm sure Mark was sorry he missed it.

Friday, August 28, 2009

Emily,
I can share in your bad experience with making cornbread!! It was then pointed out to me that I wasn't using self-rising cornmeal haha. Well, I went back to the doctor today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat and hear it move. I cried. It was awesome. Also this week, Carrie passed her state boards. She is now a licensed LPN :) Rita, how come you keep sending pictures of the kids gettin' taters? I've gotten about a dozen of them so far lol.
both the cornmeal and flour have to be self rising and you really need an iron skillet!

Thursday, August 27, 2009

I have an urgent cooking question for you guys!

So Zac loves Grandma's cornbread, and we have tried several times to make it and it tastes NOTHING like it. We use:
1 c cornmeal
1 c flour
1 c buttermilk
1/4 c oil
little bit of sugar
little bit of water to make it thinner
and 2 eggs.

what's wrong with it?? it tastes awful...and doesn't look anything like it either. zac really wants an answer, haha.

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Hey everyone. I went to my training today and we are supposed to vote tomorrow on when we are having training next week (Saturday or Monday) so I guess I won't be able to come over Labor Day unless we really complain and that probably won't do us much good! Apparently, this is the only time that the trainer (from Canada) can be here...YUCK!!!!! If I can't be there, i will miss you all so much!
Congratualtions Addy!! I might give Jacob a run for his money over those noodles :)

PRAISE THE LORD I PASSED MY TEST!  I guess me and Paul won't be eating Ramen noodles this year!  Thanks for all your prayers. But don't stop praying yet, tomorrow is the first day back for kids!

We will be keeping him in our prayers, that every thing goods well , and he will get along fine.Be sure and keep us posted , as he gets his treatments.

Sunday, August 23, 2009

Brett

Brett had his first 48hr treatment this past Monday. He was able to come home on Wednesday. He is doing fine. He did have an allergic reaction to one of the chemo drug's. So yesterday he did call Dr. & get a med. to counter act it. He said it is doing well. Then we have to wait for 3 weeks. He will then again have another 48hr treatment. After that he will then go get another pet scan to find out if this chemo is doing what it is supposed to do. If they get it shrunk down small enough then he will get one more 48hr treatment. then if his levels come out good. He will go into Duke University they will remove his bone marrow aka stem cells. give him a massive dose of chemo. then replace his bone marrow. He will then live in a apartment for a month. Has to check in with the hospital daily. When he is done if they clear him to go home, to his house. When he does this. He wants me to come to North Carolina at that time to help him out.
