Well I wish I had traveled with some of you guys! Me and Jacob came by ourselves and after about an hour and ahalf I got so sleepy and it started to rain. We pulled off the road before we even got to WV and rented a room. I had to go to sleep for about 2 hours. Then we didn't get home til about 9pm.
Jacob ended up with an ear infection and sinus infection. I took him to the dr. on tuesday. he has missed 2 days of school with it. I also took Daddy to the dr yesterday. His kidney functions are still kind of bad so she decreased his fluid pills to just 3 times a week. He hadn't lost weight but neither had he gained. Still anemic, but has been for quite a while. Mommy stayed home and rested up. They have been canning tomatoes since they got home.
Monica I love the pictures you took especially the one of Mommys hand holding the rail of the golf cart. And the one of them "snitching the seeds" They look like theives!!

I believe the count around the pool was 49!! Teresa passed us somewhere between Mineral Wells and Charleston so we ended up meeting with them at the Tamarak Plaza. When they left, we went on over to the Tamarak. I had never been in there before. It was neat. I'd like to go again and take a little more time. Adam had been craving Taco Bell for 2 days so we thought we would stop in Princeton for lunch (at 4pm). We came off the exit and Adam spotted the Taco Bell sign right off. As we approached, the sign underneath it read "Closed for remodeling". As we got closer and passed the building in front of it, it was closed alright. Taco Bell had been demolished and there was a little bulldozer sitting in the middle of where it used to be haha. We stopped at Long John's instead. I think we are going to go to Bridge Day on October 17th. Maybe we'll see some of you there?
Monica~those are so good. Amy and Greg~thanks for hosting the party! You have a beautiful home and the kids loved it. I can just see about 6 kids filling the back yard! Does anyone remember how many we counted around the pool? We came as far as Mineral Wells with Steve and Teresa, (see, she's not mad at me) had lunch with them, and then we had to go our separate ways cause Teresa had to go shopping :) Mommy and Daddy were glad to be home. Mommy told Daddy that it seemed like they had been gone so long.
Remember when I made Kraut about 3 weeks ago? Well, it made, Hallelujar!! I canned tomatoes and Kraut yesterday after the kids left. Kaiden was so glad to see Papaw. He kept saying, "Papaw" like he hadn't seen him for months. Wouldn't leave his side. A raccoon got in my corn last night and ate 9 ears. I'm going to catch him tonight and shoot him in the morning!!

Sunday, while we were at Amy's, I caught Grandpa helping himself to some daisy seeds. I asked them if they wanted me to get them a plastic baggy to put them in and Grandma said, "No, I'll just put them in my jacket pocket." I told her not to forget about them or they would have a washer full of flowers. Saturday, Dan took some of us on a tour of the property and I believe Grandma and Grandpa really enjoyed it. You know Grandpa was all about the flowers, plants and trees. It was very informative actually. Dan told us alot of things about this and that and I must say I had a wonderful time.
Letha, Gary, Mike and Janis: I am so glad that I got to spend time at Mommy and Daddy's with Uncle Lee and Aunt Carol after the 4th. I will always treasure those memories, especially the ones where we all sat down to big meals with the thanks to God and all the wonderful food! Your dad seemed to especially enjoy that also.

Monica- I have to get adult conversation when i can- the kids were napping for a "MINUTE". Greg, wish I had known you were also a Birthday boy. Yours is the same day as dad's birthday. We could have thrown you in the pool or something. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The kids want to go over to Amy's this evening for a swim...like it is just down the road!

Uncle Lee really loved his grandkids too. He talked about them all the time too. I know Daddy will treasure those few days he had with him in July. I am sure they recalled younger days and older times while he was there. We will miss him.
Love to all the family!
Please let us know the arrangements and where we can send flowers!

It's still not near as funny as the things these kids believe. they think I was in prison, got the big tattoo to cover up my "gang tat" when I got out of jail, then had to go to anger management classes for breaking a meter stick over a kids head last year! I had to go to Woodrow Wilson High School last year for a week to do student teaching and they think I was in anger management. And I didn't tell them any of these things, the other teachers did!

Y'all need to pray that I have the patience to deal with these 120 children that aren't mine! I feel like Madea when I say "boy get ovah there 'en ack like you got some sense b'fo I put my foot up yo butt! You keep ackin like dat 'en you gon meet de PoPo sooner den you think!" No matter what, I still feel very strongly that teaching middle school is the best birth control in the world.

Amy- I think I am officially in the old folks group now! Two kids have made me that way...you just wait. I wonder how grandma stayed so young for so long with so many rugrats! We probably won't be there in time for the lazer tag, but we'll see. If not, we'll see you on Sunday! I am so glad that we get to come to. Olivia wants to know if Baby Clara can actually play this time or is she just going to sit there??? LOL
Are VondaVest, Mimi & Shala coming? Olivia can't wait to see "her girls." Kaiden just wants to know if there will be a tractor there? Sorry, he doesn't care about everyone else.

Janet, I am so glad you get to come and Addy it is great that Paul can come too. I've talked to most of you already but I wanted to remind you that we have laser tag planned on Saturday from 5:30-8:30 about 10 minutes from my house. Those of you at my mom's will need to leave around 4:30 to make it on time. We are going to order pizza and have it delivered to the laser tag place's party room so no need to eat before hand. Mark and Monica, would you be able to drive separate to the laser tag place in order to fit everybody? Vonda says that you can borrow her SUV for the second car. Janet and Matt, we'd love to have you come as well if my mom and Rita can watch your kids. Kaiden and Olivia are a bit too young but I know that you would have fun!! It is good times for the young and old. I'll have directions at my mom's from her house to my house and from her house to the laser tag place. Anyone who wants to stay at my house on Saturday night can - especially the younger folks who want to stay up later on Saturday night

Emily,
I can share in your bad experience with making cornbread!! It was then pointed out to me that I wasn't using self-rising cornmeal haha. Well, I went back to the doctor today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat and hear it move. I cried. It was awesome. Also this week, Carrie passed her state boards. She is now a licensed LPN :) Rita, how come you keep sending pictures of the kids gettin' taters? I've gotten about a dozen of them so far lol.

I have an urgent cooking question for you guys!
So Zac loves Grandma's cornbread, and we have tried several times to make it and it tastes NOTHING like it. We use:
1 c cornmeal
1 c flour
1 c buttermilk
1/4 c oil
little bit of sugar
little bit of water to make it thinner
and 2 eggs.
what's wrong with it?? it tastes awful...and doesn't look anything like it either. zac really wants an answer, haha.

Hey everyone. I went to my training today and we are supposed to vote tomorrow on when we are having training next week (Saturday or Monday) so I guess I won't be able to come over Labor Day unless we really complain and that probably won't do us much good! Apparently, this is the only time that the trainer (from Canada) can be here...YUCK!!!!! If I can't be there, i will miss you all so much!

Brett
Brett had his first 48hr treatment this past Monday. He was able to come home on Wednesday. He is doing fine. He did have an allergic reaction to one of the chemo drug's. So yesterday he did call Dr. & get a med. to counter act it. He said it is doing well. Then we have to wait for 3 weeks. He will then again have another 48hr treatment. After that he will then go get another pet scan to find out if this chemo is doing what it is supposed to do. If they get it shrunk down small enough then he will get one more 48hr treatment. then if his levels come out good. He will go into Duke University they will remove his bone marrow aka stem cells. give him a massive dose of chemo. then replace his bone marrow. He will then live in a apartment for a month. Has to check in with the hospital daily. When he is done if they clear him to go home, to his house. When he does this. He wants me to come to North Carolina at that time to help him out.

Sorry about the apple juice explosion! My kids are going through separation anxiety as am I. I am enjoying being back to work though. I always look forward to a new year. I would ask you all to pray for a little boy at school. I called his house last night to welcome him back to school and I was informed that he was put in a home because he told his mom he wished she would die. There are nine children in that family that are adopted. The parents are actually related to Matthew. Zed (the little boy) is so special to me. I had him last year and he grew academically so much. His attitude improved and he was reading almost on level. Now we think he may be out of school for the first two months. This will not be good for him. He is a very special little boy who just needs love, attention, and nurturing. Pray that if it is God's will, he will get back to school so that we can all give that to him. Love to all!

Amy that picture of Clara is adorable. She has the biggest and cutest smile ever!Is that at the baby shower or your house! I tell ya, that kid definately likes being naked! Gets a smile everytime!
I don't know how much of a hunting dog Court is going to be. Today Emma and I were sitting on the porch and Court let out a series of howls and barks and I thought she heard us and was just wanting out. She was running and pacing around her pen and she had been out all morning, so I knew she had already had some exercise. There were 2 butterflies in the pen with her, and she was scared to death of them. It was almost like they were chasing her around the pen. The closer they came the faster she would run and howl.

Here are a couple of pictures from our trip to West Virginia. Greg and I spent a couple of days at Grandma's and Trish's and had a cookout at Lonnie's. Grandpa even held the baby and called her "Sugerclump." Trish found an old walker at Grandma's that is really small and Clara's little feet can touch the floor. She loves it! Last night she would take a step toward me and then giggle for 30 seconds - it was so precious!! Greg is camping this week in California in the Sequoia National Park trying to catch a golden trout. I hope he has better luck out there than he had fishing in West Virginia. He spent several hours fishing by Bobby Shawn's and didn't catch a thing, only to find out later that the pond is stocked in the spring and everyone goes then and catches all of the fish! If only he would have asked grandpa sooner, he could have saved himself the trouble!
Poor Tanner. I really hate that for him. At least, it won't ruin his entire athletic career this year. What's he going to do about training his coon dog? Don't they hunt in the fall? Or is it the Spring? I forget. I got my babies this morning and Kaiden cried for daddy until I told him he could get in bed with Bobpaw and he was fine and went right back to sleep. Olivia, on the other hand, had drank a full cup of juice on the way up, and she gets car sick on our road anyway, so she laid down with me for about 30 minutes before I (and the bed) was baptized in Apple Juice! She is on the couch now, watching Max & Ruby!!

Ruth- I am not just saying this...He was the perfect house guest! By the time I got up, he already had his bed made. He cleaned up after himself. He was real good to "obey", as he called it. We had a really good time and he is welcome back ANYTIME!!! Tell him that we all miss hima nd come and stay again soon! Trish- Any news on Tanner?

Sorry to hear about Tanner, I hope this doesn't take him completely away from his sports. I'm not sure if we are doing just the elephant or Christmas as well. We'll have to get confirmation on that. As far as I know we are all leaving on Friday morning and Carrie will be with us. How about you guys?
so is it just white elephant? we are doing? Marsha did well with the surgery, but i think she was pretty sore and tired out easily last night. But you know Marsha, she is a go getter. Monica when are you going to Ohio and is your entire family traveling together?
Tanner went to the ER this evening. Thinks he may have a broken foot! Won't know til tomorrow when we call back. They said the radiologist would have to read it.

Well all of the hags aren't gone...wait a minute, maybe they are. I knew there was a reason me and vonda didn't go! LOL Kids have started football, brent is keeping me busy, new puppy; make that 2, and Amy and Greg and Clara are here this week so that pretty much sums it up. Not sure how many of you know it, but Marsha had a hysterectomy about 2 weeks ago. We were up there tonight and stayed til about 930 trying to see a meteor shower. we actually did see a few, roasted smores, and some hotdogs. kids rode bikes and boats. The sky was beautiful. Clara is such a good baby, the kid never cries.
Monica, Marsha didn't know you were pregnant, I told her I forget that she doesn't see the blog. She also wasn't too sure whether she was going to make it for labor day or not.
Does anyone know if we are doing Christmas on Labor Day or what the plans are?

Good evening all,
I think it won't take long to turn Brent into a country boy. He likes skinnin' coons, four wheelin', lookin' for deer, peein' outside and playing with the hounds. He has thoroughly enjoyed his self so far. Doesn't seem to be a bit homesick. He and Jacob are already fighting like brothers! Montana and Marley have really taken to Bear but Court is another story. They absolutely can't stand her. And she is so timid that all they have to do is look at her and she runs. I can't wait for her to grow into her skin and put the fear of God in them. Court and Bear on the other hand love each other. They play and jump and romp. It is just so funny, they will play hide and seek around the vehicles and of course you can't see Bear but you sure can see Court and she thinks she is hiding. Addy I would love to see what your dogs think of these two or would it be a fight?
I had my little Emma today and she really likes the dogs. Doesn't know quite what to think of the big hound but she tells me often than tanners puppy is a BIIIIIIGGGGG dog.

Hey everybody,
I picked some flowers for you today! Too bad there's not a scratch-and-sniff option on the computers, the purple flowers smell heavenly!
I'm going to be very upset if Janet becomes Colin's favorite cooker! I'm the favorite!
And Monica, Fozzie really misses you! That's his "I miss Monica" face! Tell Peanut we said hello, and Mark too I guess! lol
Take care!

Wow- I am with you Bobbie! A girl first... and then come the other four or five. Monica, I am so excited for you.
Ruth, I made the mistake of telling Olivia about Colin. She is going to give him her room. Last night she cried because she thought he was coming then. First thing this morning, she wanted to knwo if he was here. She is going to drive me crazy by Sunday! You can tell him that she has big plans for them!

You all know, the bible says that if we ask and believe, we will have what we SAY!! And yes, that was the nicest cake I've ever had. Actually it was brownies! I'm going to make Kraut in the jar, recipe out of the canning book, it doesn't say anything about the "signs". We'll see how it turns out. Last year, I made 2-5 gallon buckets by the sign and it all rotted. Must not have been holding my mouth right!
Monica you are absolutely right! A Healthy baby is what its all about. We didn't know the sex of Emily when she was born and it was nice being surprised. But when Tanner and Jacob came along it was also nice that we knew before hand. It sure made picking out the nursery stuff easy!!!! I like the cake of the month idea!!!
Well Summer is officially over for the kids here. Football practice started yesterday. That means Supper at...lets see it was 930 last night when they all got home and finished eating.

I wouldn't mind having a girl first but as long as we have a healthy baby is all that matters. I do appreciate your faith Ruth!!! We should know the sex at the end of October when I go for that appointment, that is if we find out, haven't totally decided on that yet. Mark says you can't tell the sex of a sea horse by looking at it (lol). So far we've been told it looks like a peanut, kidney bean, jelly bean and ........ sea horse. Rita that was a wonderful cake Olivia made for you, she might have to start a cake of the month club. I know Addy would be on top of that in a heartbeat!!!
