Garett's face says it all...lol!

I can't stop posting pictures...this bunch is so photogenic!

Aren't my babies so cute? Emily did a great job!
Addy, everyone is going to come around noon and eat, do our white elephant gift exchange, and then we are going to mommys church for the 7:00 service. You can come dressed or bring your cloths and change here and we can all leave from here. Dont forget we are having finger foods and if you have a favorite drink you can bring it also.
We really enjoyed Emily coming over and doing our family photos, we had alot of fun.

Teresa,

What time do you want everybody there tomorrow?

Happy New Year YuAll

YESTERDAY
The God of Israel will be your rereward.
Isaiah 52:12

Security from Yesterday. "God requireth that which is past." At the
end of the year we turn with eagerness to all that God has for the
future, and yet anxiety is apt to arise from remembering the
yesterdays. Our present enjoyment of God's grace is apt to be checked
by the memory of yesterday's sins and blunders. But God is the God of
our yesterdays, and He allows the memory of them in order to turn the
past into a ministry of spiritual culture for the future. God reminds
us of the past lest we get into a shallow security in the present.
Security for To-morrow. "For the Lord will go before you." This is a
gracious revelation, that God will garrison where we have failed to.
He will watch lest things trip us up again into like failure, as they
assuredly would do if He were not our rereward. God's hand reaches
back to the past and makes a clearing-house for conscience.
Security for To-day. "For ye shall not go out with haste." As we go
forth into the coming year, let it not be in the haste of impetuous,
unremembering delight, nor with the flight of impulsive
thoughtlessness, but with the patient power of knowing that the God
of Israel will go before us. Our yesterdays present irreparable
things to us; it is true that we have lost opportunities which will
never return, but God can transform this destructive anxiety into a
constructive thoughtfulness for the future. Let the past sleep, but
let it sleep on the bosom of Christ.
Leave the Irreparable Past in His hands, and step out into the
Irresistible Future with Him.
Mornin' folks,
I failed to mention in the wii photo that is Vonda not me. Vonda and vesta made it. Vonda do you play the games? I love it, I got Jacob the big game hunt for Jacob for Christmas it even comes with a gun! Maybe you could get David interested in it, he may even get up and dance! Lol
Ok Michelle what day does Joe come again? I am going to put a countdown on the blog:)
Does Tarin blog? You should turn her loose on the keyboard=)~
it would be nice to hear her view on Germany and her whole experience with the move from the states to over seas. As I recall she likes to talk? :)

Julie, I do wear a mask. I carry one in my purse. I ended up with another urinary tract infection the day I got my treatment and I am on augmentin and boy is it hard on my stomach.

If I make it through the day on Saturday I may not make it to church that night. The sun is coming up and it is promising to be a beautiful day, a much better start than yesterday's freezing rain!
Everyone enjoy the day!
Just to clarify things.....I did not DROP Hershey, she just got to close to the edge of that really tall Table that they put her on and she fell off....right in front of me. I broke her fall or she might have needed surgery! Michelle, she is a toy poodle. She is the best little bed buddie...as long as Blain don't roll over on her. She sleeps right against us. If she ain't really careful, she will end up a hershey kiss.
Hey, Everyone! Teresa, that was great about your family get together. Monica, I am so anxious about Joe arriving, I have been awake since 4 this morning. LOL I can't keep this up, or he will get here and I'll crash the whole time he's here! And marjoram is like oregano, only sweeter. It is a green leafy herb. Oh, and that was definately inches, or I may have packed my bags to return to the states!! Amy, I love the pics of the babies. Joe used to call those pony tails on top whirlybirds. I guess that is the military coming out in him, to refer to their hair as helicoptors :) Has Brooks eaten carrots or beets? They stain their faces really bad sometimes, especially when they wear as much as they eat. A little lemon juice helped get the stains off if soap wasn't good enough. Trisha, I hope you just keep getting better and better. Rita, you didn't tell me if Hershey was a poodle or mix or Yorkie or.....I hope your better, too.
I hear the girls stirring around upstairs, better go get breakfast.
Love to all of you, and I promise pics of when Joe is home in less than 10 days now!

It's wonderful to hear everything going so well with everyone :)

Michelle, I think I'm getting anxious for you and the girls waiting on Joe lol!! Since I'm not that knowledgeable on " and ' when it comes to measurements, did you get 38 feet of snow or 38 inches? I'm going with feet but just want to make sure :p The dogs are precious.

Teresa, I'm so happy for you that all of your family could make it together at one time for Christmas. I know you have been waiting on this and it will be wonderful memories. You'll have to post some of Emily's pics of yal so we can enjoy them!!

Amy, your little ones are growing up beautifully. We'll miss all of you this weekend but I understand your being traveled out :( I'm sure you don't want to go back to work yet but I hope it goes well for you, Greg and the babies :)

Little Vonda, you are a doing a great job at taking pictures. I was looking at them from the top of the blog down and thought they were ones that Lorie took until she said otherwise.

Rita, shame on you for dropping Hershey!! But since she only weighs 2 1/2 lbs she probably floated down like a feather haha.

Addy, I am going to try the lasagna recipe as well. Sounds yummy. I do have one question. In my cooking experiences I have not come across marjoram, what is it? A spice? I hope Paul gets to feeling better. I think we've finally got everyone cleared from germs here at home. Marleigh is finally off of all her meds for her ear infection, yeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!! We'll have to get her and Ladybird together with their antlers for a pic. I have a friend that came in from Hawaii last month and we happened to be having a conversation about a Great Dane's poo. She said they could poo a house and therefore she wouldn't have one lol.

Trish, glad chemo went well for you yesterday. Did you get the freezing rain today? It's supposed to be 54 here tomorrow so I'm sure most of the snow will melt :(

Well, I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. See you Saturday morning sometime XOXOXO

Winner of the rib eating contest...

No not really...just Brooks's first meal of prunes

Clara with her ponytail reading a book

Clara smiling "cheese" for the camera

Clara eating garlic chicken pizza...everytime she wanted more she said "bawk, bawk" like a chicken

Here you go post this on the blog! The kids made a Wii person for mom

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

Vonda, I am not hiding, just working frantically. I do check the blog, but I just do not have much time to blog.

Hey Everybody!

Been a while since I've blogged, though I've been keeping up with everybody! Happy New Year, and for those who won't be able to make it to Steve and Teresa's, we'll miss you!

Hershey's doctor visit went well yesterday. We take our dogs to the same vet and I love it there. They just really make over your animals! The vet carried Hershey around for a while and probably spent just 15 minutes holding her before she even started her exam. Of course, it probably wouldn't have taken as long if Mom hadn't dropped Hershey off the exam table! but she was ok. As Mom said, she weighs 2 1/2 pounds! Ladybird is 7 months old and I weighed her last night when I got home, she's 70 pounds. I told Mom that everytime Ladybird poops it's about the equivalent, if not more, of Hershey! We had to go in Walmart to get a carrier and Mom just couldn't stand to leave her in the truck alone, so this is our solution...in cognito!

Now Julie, here's the recipe for the sauce for Paul's lasagna. He uses the same recipe for spaghetti.

  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic (i just use some garlic powder)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 3/4 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
  • 1/4 tsp. rosemary
  • 1-2 bay leaves
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste

Brown hamburger, then add onion and pepper. Let cook down. Measure all seasonings and add at the same time. Paul says not to drain the "juicy goodness" off before you add the water, I think that's your call! Just let it cook down to the consistency you want before you layer it in the pan. I usually double the recipe and make the little tin pans to freeze, it's just enough for me and Paul! If you do freeze them, it usually takes 2 hours to bake at 350. Otherwise, just an hour! Let me know how it turns out!

Monica, what happened to your bread was hilarious. Paul probably would have eaten it if you had dropped it on the pavement. He loves that stuff. And those pictures of Marleigh were PRECIOUS! She and Ladybird have matching antlers! haha

Paul says thanks for all the birthday wishes. Right now he's got whatever Olivia, Kaiden, Mom and Dad have though. In other words, he's being a big baby!

Michelle, HOLY CRAP! I thought we had snow but my gracious! I would have given up on shoveling a long time ago. I'd say your poor little doggies would get lost real quick. They are so precious though!

Lorie, loved all the pictures. Looks like you guys had a wonderful Christmas together.

Trish, glad your chemo didn't take too long yesterday, just hope the pain gets better.

Well I've babbled on long enough.

Love, Addy

Happy New Year to all. Trish, Please wear a mask especially when you go out. I know I sound bossy...but, been there, done that for 8 months. If I were there I would pamper you. Oh, my, I remember the pain in every joint from the treatments! I did not take the pain med. because it was hydrocodone and it made me crazy. I was not asleep...nor was I awake and you are right it makes one feel terrible.
Well, have a blast everyone when you get together at the homeplace. (Isn't that a sweet sound...'the homeplace')?
Addy, honey, tell your honey I soooo want that lasagna recipe. Rita, I am glad you and Blain are feeling better. Are you going to be able to come down from your mountain to go to Teresa's?
What are you all having? I am making barbeque, some ??? (don't know yet), and some cornbreadtoday for David.
Well, Trish, you are on my mind often and if I haven't told you, I like the blog. (Of course, I really know next to nothing about blogs anyway, but the background is pretty).
Emily, if ever you and your husband get to Florida...stay with us and bring your camera. I promise I am not 'photogenic' (spelling could be wrong there, but I think you get the picture...Oh, no 'pun' intended). David and I would like our picture taken and how cool to pay you instead of another photographer.
Well, I will hush now... I have work to do.
I send lots of love and some prayer too....to all of you as always.
Love and Prayers,
Julie
Mornin from Foggy Mtn USA
I feel like I am in a bubble. It is so foggy, I couldn't get online until just now. Couldn't get a signal. Michelle, Your dogs are so cute...and well groomed! Hershey did fine with her shot but she is confined to the basement today because she is being wormed....Not happy...let me TELL you...not happy. I'm going to have to give Sadie a Xanax because I can tell she is getting on her nerves. She weighs a whopping 2 1/2lbs. Full grown she will be about 10lbs. I don't know how you guys afford dog food for the Big dogs, and so many! O My Word!!
Teresa, I am doing what you are doing today, Cleaning! It's days like this that I am glad my house is small.
Sarah Fitzwater called yesterday to see how Mommy was. She hadn't heard and she said she would have been there if she had known. She is Granny Fitzwater's daughter-in-law. She said nobody loved Mommy any more than she did. She said to tell the family she loved us and she is praying for us. See you all New Year's. Don't forget your church clothes...or you can wear "what you have on" as Mommy would say.
Hey, Happy New Year to All, Hope everyone is getting out from under the snow.
Trish I hope you will get to feeling better , now that your treatments are done , and most of all I hope it works.Teresa glad you are going to get to have your Christmas with your baby's , so enjoy , hope all goes well.
Michelle your little dogs are adorable, I also have one that is the Carmel color, and they are so spoiled, but we enjoy them, How does your's like all that snow?
Did Shane make it to his home yet, with all the snow and plane delays, That is something else.
Rita, how did Hershey do on her vet visit? She is so cute.
Ruth , where are you hiding? we haven't heard from you in a while .Hope everyone has a safe trip in , to Steve's Sat. and my thoughts will be there with everyone, so be sure and take lots of pictures, for us that cant make it in.
Hey all hope everyone is doing well. I'm doing especially well today because my babies are coming in this afternoon. We are going to have our Christmas tomorrow(presents and food) and family cant beat it. We finally get to meet Kelseys new boyfriend and Steve said it will probably be like "Meet the Fockers". Lets pray it goes well. Emily is also going to come and take some family photos.

Trish you can borrow any of my beds and I cleaned house good yesterday and I sprayed Lysol everywhere and bleach on everything. I hope you get some rest and feel better.

Cant wait to see everyone on Saturday. Dont forget food(very important) we all love to eat, your favorite drink and white elephant gift. Love you all!!!!

This chemo was a piece of cake, at least getting it was. It only took 5 1/2 hours this time and I had an excellent lunch thanks to Rita and addy who just happened to be going to food and friends. They Brought me my favorite from there and man was it good=} I did feel weak and my arms and legs felt like they weighed as much as a ton of bricks but I had so much energy because of the iv steroids I got before the infusion. But by 9 last night it all began to wear off and I started having so much pain and I got the sore throat again. Well I tolerated it long enough by about 130 and I took a pain pill. It took the edge off but I still feel lousy. Teresa I may have to borrow your bed on Saturday. I am wearing my mask just in case there are germs but I know the way you clean house so it will be like a bubble I am sure. I haven't been to sleep yet and I am sure that's from the steroids too. Michelle your pups are adorable they would fit right in with Lorie and Vonda's!
Lorie I think you are right about Butter she is going to make an excellent photographer.
So Rita how did hershey make out at the vet yesterday? Does she weigh at least 5 pounds! Lorie has a cat that is 5x his size!
We are supposed to get freezing rain and ice today! So I am going to try and get some sleep...night all.

Hello, everyone! Almost the New Year! Hope it is good for all of you. We're getting ready for Joe a few days after, and we will have our Christmas with him, so the kids are eyeballing the tree and presents :) LOL I wondered if they would make it.

They announced yesterday on the news Germany broke the record for snowfall here in the month of December with 38.7" of snow!!! I felt every inch........

Everyone keeps showing pics of thier puppies, so here are mine. The caramel Pomeranian is Napoleon and the cream one is Nefertiti, and yes, they act like an emperor and pharoah ruling this house :)
I hope you are feeling better, Trisha. I know mom was feeling pretty horrible on her chemo.
Love to all of you, Michelle and gang

Thank you for using Picture and Video Messaging by U.S. Cellular. See www.uscellular.com for info.

Good morning

Trish,
I hope you get to feeling a bit better. We sure miss everyone. The kids are playing the Wii and having lots of fun today. I am posting more pictures from when we were down. I just want to say Vonda took them and I think she might be the photographer in my family. Love you all and may God bless this great joyous family
Rita, tanner took Gracie to the vet Yesterday. I was just thinking about the difference in a bloodhound and a toy poodle- about a hundred pounds and a lot of spit! Lol

I just thought I would share a couple dreams I had 2 nights in a row. The first one was me and mommy walking down by the mailbox arm in arm headed to where the garden Used to be. You could tell we were just talking and laughing but it was like I was to far away to hear.

Then last night I dreamed that I was visiting mommy I think in the hospital and Rita was there too. And we were walking mommy to the bathroom and she was still smiling. And she actually said in Jesus name. It was taking both of us to walk her But she was still praising God!

I am hoping tonight I get to dream and see her strolling the streets of gold with daddy on one side and Jesus on the other:).

I go for my second chemo today and unfortunately I am coming down with a cold. Coughing sneezing aching all over chilling but no fever. I am not sure if they will give it to me or not, Julie what do u think? I just want to get it over with especially because my insurance is paying 100% until Friday!

That Marleigh is one smart little gal! Zac, I saw your Mom & Dad in Beckley today. They didn't see me...they went in Starbucks. Addy and I are taking Hershey for her first Dr. visit tomorrow. She has to have shots. I left her here today and when I got home, she wrapped her entire body around my leg and wouldn't turn loose. She is the sweetest thing...a good little bed buddy too. She just lays right between me and Blain and doesn't make a sound. She's winnin' the big guy over!!
Hey all
Just Marleigh and me today. We made potato soup with celery and carrots, flavored with some of the Christmas ham and Marleigh thinks that table eat'in is the way to go!
The sun is shining so bright today. It must be all that cleaned out air. I wonder if the big city people notice a difference in their breathing after a big snow.

Monday, December 27, 2010

Wow- I was way behind.  I have been reading for a good while trying to catch up.  I will post some pictures of Olivia and Kaiden at Christmas soon.

Bobbie~  I have no doubt that you and Marleigh will have a very special friendship.
Vonda & Vesta~  I love all those smiles!
Teresa~ Everyone knows that I am anti- pets and I actually thought (for a minute) about keeping that cute puppy.  She is so precious and lovable.  I bet she could win Steve over.  I think Matthew was afraid of becoming attached to her so he just called her "that dog."  Haha

Mary Kay order going out next week if anyone needs anything.

My memory of grandma's house at Christmas...
The annual week at grandma's after Christmas was in full swing.  Monica, Amy, Colin, Timmy Wayne, Bobby Shawn and myself were all there.  It was coming up on the end of the week and I remember grandma making her rounds with prayers and goodnight kisses.  She had to get up to tell someone, (probably Monica) to "quit giggling."  Anyway, as she was walking back to her bedroom, I was by the old bathroom speeling.  I sat up and asked her if it would hurt her feelings if I went home.  I missed my mommy.  About a minute later, Timmy Wayne came through the hall saying he wanted to go home too. She just laughed and let us call.  She was probably glad that we were finally leaving:)  No, not grandma!

Love you all and stay warm!

Mom~ Don't lose Hershey!
Yes, it's having it's self a merry old time. But it sure is Pretty, Only God can paint a picture like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey all, I was reading today and came across a bit about the weather

Psalms 147: 15-18 NI
He sends His command to the earth;
His Word runs swiftly;
He spreads the snow like wool
and scatters the frost like ashes.
He hurls down His hail like pebbles.
Who can withstand His icy blast?
He sends His Word and melts them;
He stirs up His breezes, and the waters flow.
. . .Praise the Lord.
Psalms 148: 7-8, 13
Praise the Lord from the earth, . . .
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
stormy winds that do His bidding, . . .
Let them praise the name of the Lord,

That snow is really praising the Lord!
Hey everyone, I had some catching up to do. I hadn't looked at the blog for a couple of days. Rita I'm glad you and Blain are feeling some better we will continue praying for you both. Your little Hershey is sooooo cute I would love to have a small inside dog but Steve doesn't want one.
I'm glad to hear that everyone had a great Christmas I love all the pictures of Marleigh and Vondas family.
It is nice to hear all the stories of Christmas. I remember Christmas with my dad and his family as being some of my greatest memories I love all the food and fellowship and although our family wasn't as large as this family it was great having everyone together. That is why I love being part of this family I love having a house full of family and friends and that is the greatest gift of all.
As far as our Christmas mom came up Friday and spent the weekend with us and we fixed a pot roast and Steve fixed a pan of cornbread and we have sat around all weekend watching tv and being lazy.
I'm going to try to get out to take mom home today, Steve said the road was pretty bad when he went into work today so we'll see how it goes.
I'll see you all on Saturday. Don't forget your white elephant gifts. Love you all!!!!
Shane, I hope you can find your car when you get back home. You picked a good time to go, but I don't know about getting home, with all the flights being canceled.
Michelle, does Joe have access to the internet?
Blain just called back to tell me that he had made it to Meadow Bridge. He said it's bad. I don't even know how much snow we have, it is drifting really bad.
Hershey is pretty good as long as you are holding her, sleeping with her, carrying her around...Sadie likes her, she is just too little to play with. Sadie knows she is still top dog.
I didn't get any pics of Olivia and Kaiden over Christmas. We felt so bad, I just didn't think about it. I am feeling a little better but Blain isn't.
Steve and Teresa, What are ya'll doing? Haven't heard from you.
Trish and Steve, Shame on you!  I can't imagine anyone else in this family doing that?  Haha  I would expect that from many of the kids, but not you two!
Rita it looks like Hershey could be a chew toy for any of your grand doggies! Lol especially Lady Bird, don't you think Addy?
Vonda I love your Charlie Brown nativity and tree! Where did you get it and how old is it? I have never seen one. The Charlie brown Christmas tree is one of my favorite stories=]

Micheelle do you watch Army Wives on lifetime? I love how it shows how they all pull together As a family when their husbands are deployed and in some cases it's the woman that is deployed and the husband is deployed....maybe you can find one of them! Lol We are getting a terrible amount of snow right now. The interstate is creeping by and everyone has their emergency lights on.

Hey grandkids! What about your memories? Tell us about something you remember either at grandmas or your own home when you were a kid and how you are making it special for your own kids.

A few years back when we started having Christmas on new years we would have mom and dad come here to share our Christmas. Jesse and Helen would come too. We would fix breakfast and it never failed mommy would always come in with her basket full of biscuits. THAT was my kids favorite gift lol. Before I learned to make good gravy she brought that too! A couple of times Steve and his family came Over too. I am so glad that i have those memories for my kids because since Jesse had his stroke he doesn't get around well. About the only place he does go is walmart and the doctor.

Your alls memories remind me of the waltons;). Especially yours David. You all have a great
Day and for those that have to go to work, sorry:(

Happy belated birthday Paul I hope addy took good care of you:)

Sunday, December 26, 2010

Hi All,
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Once again mom made sure that the days were special and filled with love. I loved reading how she helped to make it that way for her siblings when they were younger. My poor kids had to wait until 4pm when Big Daddy got home to open presents. Needless to say it drove them crazy. Shawn got a Apple laptop and the girls got a Wii. They are all sooo happy. My big gift is getting a dental done on my little dog. We sure wish we were close enough to be with you all for the holidays. Mom was sad that she never got to spend a Christmas at home once she left it. I love that this blog keeps us near to one another when prayer is needed or you just need to appreciate that family is priceless.
